Opened AB at 32. Favorable Barron's article. 9% dividend.
A wealthy friend and his wife my gf's cousin that spends much of their free time gambling get so many comps it's amazing. I dont know how much they gamble or win or lose but I can tell you theyve taken free trips to Tahiti, Hawaii, cruises etc. They've stayed in top notch hotels on concierge floors and many times taken us to shows, restaurants and provided us numerous stays in fine accommodations. So there's that.
At least gambling there are comps. Free trip, free hotel stay anyone? Not in this market.
I've asked my broker repeatedly when I can use my comps for all the gambling I've done.
He said "wait, what ?"
Pull out the dart boards folks. It's market fun time.
Using the best analysis- eeny meeny miney moe...
Yes, but at some point Musk will pull a Rabbit out of his hat, the Rabbit will then say " What's up Doc?", kiss Elon Musk and beat a hasty retreat. That wascally Wabbit will do it again...
Could be Rabbit, could be... Or something like that.
Actually closed TQQQ at 140.69 from a cost of 125 opened on 10/2/20.
Yipee !
I'm happy to say that I've now eclipsed the old high in the trading account on 2/19/20 by over 1.5% today...
Double yay !
Unfortunately, the dividend reinvestment account is still going through withdrawal convulsions.
I hope IBM does, still have my buy order in for 112.
Just a point about TSLA that I haven't mentioned. That is the Space X project that Elon Musk has been spearheading. Tremendous technology improvements will result from this. Just a thought.
I wouldn't count TSLA out quite yet
Court,
( I ) "red" the article that you posted. I didn't mean that you should read the article.
Good morning,
Definitely closed JPM at 102 on 10/08/20, from an open on 9/29/20 at 92.90, or $9.10 per share profit. Yay.
This is a satellite account so I don't watch it as closely.
Nice, and it ut came up on my radar yesterday as a decent dividend payer. Looking at TXN AVGO and QCOM for that now.
Read the article. Norway is ahead of the world and a good field experiment for which EVs will do well there. TSLA losing ground.
correction, didn't close DNB, still have some at a cost of 24.27
...
I'll be kicking myself for selling it just at its break out. Same old story. Uh !
Yep, I guess my buy 112 price target will have to be reconsidered on IBM.
I don't think I can count that high SF.
Speaking of ease of movement and up volume.
Ease of movement was closing AMZN this a.m. at 3209 from a cost of 3154
There was some up volume since adding to MA on 10/2 at 336.
Since I've been largely removed from the markets intricacies the last few days, I'll just mention that I've added to such notables as AAPL, SBUX, CARR, AMTD which is now SHWB
I opened SPAQ and since closed it at cost (14)
Opened HYLN at 41.40 and closed at a loss (40).
Closed DNB at 27.50 from a cost of around 25.50.
Added to ABBV @ 86 on 10/2
Added to TQQQ @ 125 on 10/2
Added to PLTR @ 9.05 on 10/2
The biggest oversight was not being aware of a sell order I had for RH at 354. After looking at one account I said "where's RH ? !!! "
Well, duh, closed it $20 ago. You can tell me so Elroy. It's now at 373.
Tha- That's All Folks !
Since closing dkng yesterday, reopened lower with a tiny nibble (sometimes I feel like a chipmunk with all that nibbling)at 58.70.
I remember when nfbk issued additional shares years back with account holders having $10/ share option to buy. I didnt, that was before it doubled in price, then split.
Yeah,so reopened at 58.70, famous last words.
Stupid move number 1 today, keeping AMTD as it merged with Shwab. Down 10% this morning. Oh well. Sucks being me.
Safe travels SF. When you return you'll notice a whole bunch of zombies ala "The walking Dead". Pay them no mind.
Amazing !
Trimmed DNB at 26 from a cost of 25.05
Out of DKNG completely now. Still a nice profit of about 10 per share. Good riddance. I'll look to reopen when this calms down a bit. Trading too heavy today to stay in.
No atta boys necessary. However, atta boys optional on this one
Went back in and added a nibble at 59.75- DKNG
Amazing !
Reduced ( Trimmed DKNG in Mohacsy's vernacular ) DKNG on stop loss at 59.16 from a cost of 39.15.
Trimmed a bit more at 59 from a recalibrated cost basis of 40.50.
Unfortunately out of HYLN at 40 from a cost of 41.10 on a stop.$1.10 per lost.
Boo Hoo.
Went back in to AMZN with a much smaller position at 3156, after selling pre market between 3158 to 3160. We'll see, we'll see...
Reopened WKHS on its new symbol HYLN at 41.10 after sale of WKHS at 47 last week.
Closed AMZN at 3158 and 3160 this a.m. premarket from a cost of 3133
Well, SF, no one Expects that... even with heaps of cash.
One thing is possible, that I'm gradually trading myself out of this mess and creating an iron clad bulletproof portfolio of stocks unsurpassed by mortal men. Maybe even unsurpassed by Nick. That is unless... well, you know. Begins with Spanish and ends with Inquisition.
Hi Nick,
I made me add to ABBV because the cost basis is now lower, the dividend is proportionally higher than my previous cost averaged dividend, and because ABBV will be easier to hold at a lower cost basis and easier to sell when the cost is even with the current stock price.
I don't like throwing good money after bad, have a bad habit of doing that and would prefer not being in a company's stock that is under my purchase price. I have more than enough of those stocks already in my accounts.
Looking at the hopeless charts of companies like CSCO and ABBV I see very little to redeem them other than their dividends, which don't drive me to keep them as they don't correspond to my investment and trading strategy.
Frankly I don't like cost averaging when a stock perpetually heads south. But in order to relieve myself of this and other stocks I find myself forced to do exactly that.
Enjoy the weekend !
I wasn't aware that it would be needed Nick. Haven't read any post like that and don't pay any heed to rudeness as my skin is pretty thick.
Added unfortunately having to add to ABBV at 86.
All trades settled with TQQQ and AMZN. regrettably going into the weekend upside down. TQQQ- at a cost of 27.05 and AMZN at a cost of 3132. Having reduced the number of shares in TQQQ through out the day and increasing the number of shares in AMZN throughout the day.
Closed in one account AMTD at cost- 41.
Still holding AMTD freshly reopened today at 40 in another account.
Closed BX at 54 from a cost of 52
Closed remainder of IRM in trading portfolio at 27.20 ( ELROY ) from 26.50.
Still unfortunately have IRM in dividend account costing much more. So there's that.
Added more TQQQ at 127 and added at 126.50
Added to TQQQ at 127
Closed AMZN at 3145 cost.
Reopened AMZN at 3142
Added to AMZN at 3130
Added to AMZN at 3127
Well, Court, here comes the interesting... down down down interesting.
Added to AMTD at 41.40
Added to AMTD at 41
Anyone wishing to provide an atta boy for NEE buy and sell this a.m., I'd gladly take.
Added to AAPL at 114.40
Added to SBUX at 85.90
Closed NEE at 284 round trip cost of 276 and change from this mornings open while still sleeping cozily and dreaming of certain political figures contracting covid.
Reopened TQQQ at 131. All before having my Wheaties. Time to rest on those laurels- famous last words...
Yeah, just a faux pas on my part Elroy. Thanks for pointing it out Actually a 2 instead of a 1.
Added to MA at 337.20
So does either of these have the ADR fee ?
And what about BYDDY. This is quite confusing to me. I'd like to take a position in this company, but am seeing multiple references to BYD. What's up with that ?
Reopened AMZN at 3145
