Veritas,
that is really cool!
I can read Greek but I have difficulty with speaking it.
Never tried the Hebrew so that is really a neat site.
Go for it!
The more we study the Word, the more we realize how much we do not know because it renews itself every time we re-visit it!

We won;t all agree on everything, but one thing is very clear.

The Difference Between Telling versus Trusting
It's no secret around our family that I'm not the most technical or mechanical guy in the world. And when something is wrong with our car, I do head for the gas station. Our friend has worked on our car for years and he does a good job. And since I have been "Joe Used Car" for a lot of my life, there has usually been a fair amount of work to do. I come chugging in, and I tell my friend the symptoms of what seems to be wrong with the car. I tell him about the noise, the starting problem, or the loss of power, and then he talks back to me. He tells me what he thinks it might be, what he thinks it might cost, and how long it might take to fix it. So what do I do? Do I say, "Thanks, friend," and then chug out in my ailing car? No, I have to leave it there!
I'm Ron Hutchcraft, and I want to have A Word With You today about "Telling isn't Trusting."
Our word from the Word of God comes from Luke 7, beginning at verse 2. "A certain Centurion servant was there, whom his master valued highly. The servant was sick and about to die. The Centurion heard of Jesus, and sent some elders of the Jews to Him, asking Him to come and heal his servant. When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with Him." At this point, they are telling Jesus about the problem, just like I tell the mechanic about my car's problem. In this case, it's a very valued servant.
Jesus responds, and the Centurion sends a message back, and says, "I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You, but say the word and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one go, and he goes, and that one comes, and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it. When Jesus heard this, He was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following Him, He said, 'I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.' And then the men that had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well." Look at those words, "such great faith." Jesus is always talking to His disciples about their little faith. He says, "This unlikely man, this Gentile, has such great faith." Why? Well, he didn't just tell Jesus about the problem, he trusted Him with it. That's why he got the miracle he needed.
It doesn't do any good if I just tell my mechanic about the problems my car has. I have to leave it in his hands and drive away in another car. I do leave it there. I trust him. Maybe you're looking at a problem or need that really could use the touch of God right now. You say, "Well, I've prayed about it." You've prayed about it, but have you really left it with Him? You told Him, but have you trusted Him with it? Notice, this Centurion says, "Just say the word, and it will be done." He recognizes the total authority of Jesus over the situation, and acts as if it is totally in Jesus' hands. That is great faith.
Is that how you are when you pray about someone or something? "Lord, if You say come, it will come. If You say, go, it will go. If You say do this, it will be done." Now when Jesus has the problem, you don't have it anymore. When you tell Jesus about it, you walk in all bent over with the load, and you walk out of the throne room still bent over. No. When you really trust Jesus with it, you walk in bent over, but you walk out standing tall. You left your load in Jesus' hands. So, would you relax in His total authority over the situation? Exercise the faith that brings down the supernatural, "Such great faith."
The old song says, "I must tell Jesus all of my troubles." Upgrade that to, "I must trust Jesus with all of my troubles." Drive it to Jesus, and then, leave it with Him.
What a wonderful application and illustration of WHY many of our requests go unanswered.
Beside the usual reasons such as us asking amiss or not asking at all, one huge reason is not leaving the petition with JESUS and TRUSTING HIM COMPLETELY, just like we did when we asked HIM to save us from our sins, and to be Our Savior, trusting ONLY in HIM and WHAT HE DID on our behalf.
Trust. Faith. The faith of a little child. Blind faith and trust.
Jesus talked about this in the Gospels of MArk 10, Luke and MAtthew 18.
The faith of a child. Complete, innocent, TRUSTING COMPLETELY.
It is my prayer that people will grasp the significance of TRUSTING and LEAVING versus simply telling.
IF we trust CHRIST for our salvation and depend our very eternal souls on HIM, why would we not completely TRUST HIM with our problems and leave them at the altar in faith?
God bless you richly in Christ Jesus,
MIB
Thanks BB!
Appreciate it!

MIB
Hi Veritas and Thank YOU
Indeed sir.
The thing I like about brother Ron is sometimes there are deeper messages in his devotionals.
That carpenter that changed the wood for instance........
Pretty good stuff. Simple, straightforward, easy to read, and GREAT APPLICATION.
I am chowing down in Greek today. In particular, Galatians.
Ah yes my brother, there is nothing more blessed or refreshing than feasting upon that ever rich and flowing fountain called the Word of God!
May I nevber lose my thirst for this nor ever get "FULL" but ever hunger for the TRUTH and enlightened discernment from the Holy Spirit!
Blessings this glorious day our Lord hath made and sustained!

Damaged Wood
Our friend is in the flooring business; actually that's wood floors. He had been tearing the old floor out in this house he was working on, and before he threw it away, he decided to call us and see if we might have any use for it. Actually, we were pretty excited about his call because we were in the middle of a project where we'd be needing a floor. He said, "I do want you to know it's actually pretty ugly, but it's a good solid maple wood."
Well, now we've got piles and bucketfuls of that wood - and our friend was right. It really is pretty ugly. Those old floor boards have several coats of paint on them, they're really dirty, some are gouged out, they're kind of beat up. Frankly, it looks like it might only be good for firewood. But our friend pointed out that wood is an inch thick - and he assured us he could sand off all the damage and still have plenty of wood left. And I am holding, right now, in my hand a sample of what he can do. It's a piece of that old ugly wood that he has restored - and there's no trace of the damage - it's a smooth, beautifully stained piece of wood. I mean, this restoration is amazing!
I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "The Damaged Wood Miracle."
Now that wood was ready for the dumpster honestly, until the skilled restorer worked on it. The ugly is gone. It's like new.
That's exactly what the Master Carpenter from Nazareth does with people - people like you and me. We're all damaged wood. We've got layers of dirt and scarring from years of use. But Jesus restores damaged wood.
Our word for today from the Word of God comes from 2 Corinthians 5:17. "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" From the moment you put your life in the hands of Jesus, the Master Restorer, He begins to repair and transform the damage that's been done by years of sinning and being sinned against. We all carry the damage done from our sinning, from mistreatment, from bad choices, maybe from abuse or addiction or anger. Jesus is a Savior for a person who is tired of the guilt, tired of the pain, tired of the burden - maybe somebody like you.
He's more of a Savior than you could ever imagine. In Isaiah 61, He describes the total restoring work He came to do, and that He wants to do for you. He said, "The Lord has sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve, to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair" (Isaiah 61:1-3).
Now, here is a Savior who wants to turn your captivity into freedom and your grieving into comfort. The ashes of your life, He wants to turn into beauty, the mourning of your life into gladness, and He wants to turn your despair into praise. There is no therapist on earth that can do that, no religion, no self-improvement program. Only the Savior can restore the damage of sin - only Jesus can.
Because of what He did one dark day on an old piece of wood - what one hymn writer described as "the old rugged cross." The Bible says, "He bore our sins in His body on the tree ... by His wounds you have been healed" (1 Peter 2:24). He has broken the hold of sin forever - by dying for it - for anyone who trusts Him to be their Savior from their sin.
So the future doesn't have to be more of the past. Jesus is waiting right now to begin His restoring miracle if you will open your life to Him. You can tell Him you want Him right where you are. "Jesus, beginning today, I'm Yours."
You've carried the dirt; you've carried the scars long enough. It doesn't matter how damaged you are, Jesus can make something beautiful out of your life.
Blessings,
MIB
Tampa,
I am in full agreement with your assessment. I believe, even without any hard firm numbers to back it up, that the glass is more than half full, but the train does need to leave the station, and this year is the time.
The prospects which we can all point to of recent, including the extenders of Xpress and the deal with the OLympics bode well for that side of the business. The eSign part looks very promising with the Wells Fargo news from a week ago.
What would be sweet, is if we could HEAR an announcement that we have landed some steady and large business from our core business to go along with those other two.
IMO Q2 results are going to be telling about the core business. Hopefully, they will be much stronger, significantly stronger than Q1, which also will serve to put a little confidence back in SKS.
the best,

A good site because someone from TvTomic is actually available to answer any qustions posed.

and that right there
is the reason that churches have splits and the people in the pew think they have the inside track on what the Pastors ought to be doing or saying.
BTW, my church has added a steady 10 percent per year for the past ten years and some years more. We sure are in a mess! Giving to God is great, we have food pantries and clothing pantries for those in need and several teams of nouthetic counselors to assist the community.
Yessir, we sure are in a mess.
Just don't know how we are going to be able to serve the Lord and minister to the community around us.
Once again, you show your pompous arrogaant attitude with your mouth. I would suggest you check you ego, your testosterone, and a couple other things I won't mention and ask yourself, is this what JESUS would say to a brother trying to help someone out of the goodness of their heart?
Is this HOW HE would have taught us to react to something or someone who is a blood bought sinner just like me?
AM I bringing ANY glory to Christ when I rail on someone like you have?
Nay brother, he would have said none of the things you did and acted like you have.
Pride cometh before a fall brother.
I'll just let you be KING here at your board and in themeantime CHRIST shall still be my KING in ALL places in my heart and life.
MY church that is in a mess according to you needs me and so I must depart from this very Christ-like discussion with you.
All becuase you think you have the ONLY answer and nobody else could possibly in your mind have some other things to consider, especially from two different men who have dedicated their lives to full time service of Christ.
You are amazing.
excel,
Let's be clear.
YOU have a problem with me.
WHY I do not know.
No, I don't speak for PL1, but thank you for pointing it out anyway.
Please do not trouble yourself any more. I will leave your board alone and go back to my life without this.
I apologize for any offense I may have committed.

excel, it's okay.
I agree I don;t have all the private info you have and I am sorry you feel like PL and I have have over stepped or something.
I am not trying to do anything other than HELP! Period.
I know what a VOW is btw and I was not referring to a separation, although I have NEVER counseled anyone to do that unless there was physical abuse or danger coming into play. Notice I said I have never, not you.
I did not read ANY of the other posts so I am somewhat at a disadvantage and though you may find it hard to believe, not trying to cause any difficulties here or "take your patient".
I understand all too well what the words being submissive and their other word forms, like "subjective" mean.
As you said, I do not have the intimate details and at this time and not interested in them.
I am not talking about a situation either.
I was talking specifically about the WORD and how it applies to similar situations I have personally been involved in for over 2 and a half decades my friend.
Sorry for the interjection.
Be assured, it won't happen again.
You failed to notice apparently I also stated that IF there is signs of ohysical danger. That includes abuse and drunkenness that leads to physical harm.
If you care to go farther than that and ASSUME some things, that is your prerogative.
I will say no more.
Lastly, you are right, I have only seen this board and another one in the past two weeks. I think I will just stay at my board.
I do wish you well.
A shame.

How sad!
From the article this line:
Nearly across the board, the majority of religious Americans believe many religions can lead to eternal life:
What did the Bible say? Forget about religions and go with God's Word despite what ANY individual church may be trumpeting. If it does not line up with God's Word, run away from it as fast as you can!
Broad is the way that leads to destruction! Narrow is the way that leads to SALVATION.
ONE WAY. Come to Jesus. By FAITH. Receive HIS GRACE AND LOVE AND MERCY and SALVATION.
Yes, the problem with religion is that it is that, a system, man's system. Based on do's and dont's, also known as works.
Salvation is based on RELATIONSHIP with CHRIST, as a SON or DAUGHTER of the LIVING GOD, who loved us and gave Himself for us!
No wonder the scripture says "Hell hath enlerged herself" and it is expanding daily as religious people by the millions end up in eternity without Christ because they had religion, they simply did not have any relationship.
Oh the importance of being in the family!
Good article Tenac! Sad also!
Blessings,
MIB
Tenac, great post!
Yes, John hit it right on the head. Too many people do place "value" or "degrees" on sins. Some count more than others or less than others is how they view it, never stopping to think about HOW DOES GOD see it?
It cost GOD his own SON's death on the CROSS inorder to redeem our sinful old selves from those "not soimportant" sins, amen?
Great reminder and a good author as well. I owm ALL of John's commentaries in hardback and have read all of them many times.
You are indeed keeping good company!
Blessings to you my brother,
MIB
Dear excel,
Brother, your anger is showing and it is misdirected and misplaced.
I admit I do not know this woman's case in detail, but I do know what the scriptures teach concerning divorce and marriage and a drunk husband isn't one of them.
If you feel the need to go find scripture to support your counseling someone to leave their married spouse, who in front of God took their VOWS, please feel free to do so dear brother.
BUt I caution you that when someone makes a VOW to GOD, only GOD can release you from it. Not man. God takes VOWS seriously.
Again, perhaps you should re-aquaint yourself with Hosea and his marriage and realize that GOD TOLD him to marry this person, knowing the reputation she had and what she was.
Did God ever tell Hosea to divorce her?
Did Hosea have Biblical grounds to do so? YES. Infidelity is one of them. Proven infidelity.
Did he divorce her? NO!!!
What did he do?
Well, you can read it for yourself or you already know the answer.
Best example I can point to off the top of my head.
And yes, excel, for over twenty years I have counseled people with marriage problems using the scriptures as the only basis.
It is never easy.
My wife's aunt was married for 50 years to an unbeliever. Unequally yoked. She faithfully contimued to go to church for awhile. Gradually, over time, he began to see her God and her faith through her life. Yes, it took twenty years befor Joe became a child of God, but he did. All do to the testimony and "chaste conversation" of their wives.
Now then sir, let's be frank here since you are in that mood.
DO you dispute that the scriptures I provided from I Peter chapter three DIRECTLY are related to the role of the wife with an unsaved spouse?
Do you think that is twisting scripture?
Question 2.
Who is your neighbor? You seem to have a problem with that as well.
Let's see, across the street people? Next door people? People you see at the stores?
Everyone except yourself? BINGO!!!!! Yes to all the above as well.
I used the example of loving thy neighbor for the sole purpose of demonstrating God's love for us was so great He LOVED US MORE THAN HIMSELF.
LOVE is LOSING ONESELF for SOMEONE ELSE.
Paul said in Phillipians 2: 3 that we are to esteem everyone else better than ourselves. Kind of goes hand in hand with the second greatest commandment does it not?
Here is I Corinthians chapter 13. It worth reading.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth F47 not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought F51 as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; F52 but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Charity = LOVE
Notice it beareth all things and endureth ALL things. What love of is Paul speaking of here???
The point brother is that you seem to have an extreme dislike for love, agape, philio and the power of God's promises and HIS will and HIS purpose in EVERYONE's life.
Mine as well as yours and PL's.
WHO are WE to interfere with God's plan and purpose?
AS I said, the scripture is abundantly clear on the circumstances in which a writ of divorcement CAN be given.
I agree that if there is PHYSICAL HARM OR DANGER WE HAVE A NEW METRIC, or IF we know for sure we have infidelity going on then we have a new metric.
BUT even then with infidelity, God gave the option of working through that or splitting up. I have seen it go both ways.
Neither has been good and sometimes it was best for one party.
BUT GIVE the WORD and GOD's PLAN a chance to work brother.
No one is trying to make you look like a fool. I am not your enemy here.
I am your blood bought brother in Christ, that cost our LORD much pain and suffering. WIll you throw me away also?
Please cool down and give some thought to what I have said I implore you.
Your brother in Christ,
MIB

P.S. Congrats to Michael Sprague and to BARGE!
Dear sister in Christ Linda
I do not know you personally, nor you I, and I know I a a newcomer to this board as well as the eternity board.
Like Precious Life, I am a Pastor and a sinner saved by grace. Just an older man that loves God's children, but even more so, I am hopelessly in love with our Savior, Lord, and Master.
My commitment to you, along with Precious Life's is to pray for you. To hold you up in front of the altar and to the edge of the throne, where almighty God the Father will look upon you because YOU HAVE AN ADVOCATE pleading your case and cause, none other than JESUS Christ, who is asking the Father on YOUR BEHALF to hear your requests.
YOUR job is twofold.
1. Be patient and listen to that still small inner voice.
2. Be faithful: in prayer, in reading your Bible daily so you feed your soul and mind the nourishment it needs to sustain it through all the trials and tribulations we ALL GO THROUGH.
I have another dear friend who is full of age and wisdom, and will be a prayer warrior as well as my assistant on my Bible Fellowship board at another website. SHE will also pray without ceasing.
Wehave you bathed in God's medium and access for help, prayer. Have faith my sister that HE WILL GIVE YOU ALL YOU NEED and perform the doing of it.
That being said, as brother Precious Life has pointed out, and Tenac expressed, if you are endangered that changes everything. But unless and until that happens, God's Word is clear and your faithfulness is required and needed as a shining testimony to your unsaved spouse.
Be strong and of good courage. David knew what it was like to be afraid, and fear, and we have the wonderful 23rd Psalm to read and take counsel in.
Bless you this night as you purpose in your heart to obey God and He will reward thee openly for trusting HIM.
Your servant in Christ,
MIB
excel, my brother
I would only add this to what PL has said.
Give this a moment of thought dear brother.
Phillipians 2: 5 says "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:"
What was the mind of Christ??? Didn;t he teach predominantly on LOVE and FORGIVENESS?
and Jesus said in Mathew 22: 36 - 40
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Finally the Apostle Peter directly weighs in on this subject in I Pet. 3: 1 - 5
Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; 2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. 3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
Brother, I have counseled many folks in my lifetime and would remind us all that we are ALL responsible to keep our vows before God, and to HONOR HIS WORD.
Remember that He will not put upon us MORE than we can bare and that HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT, bless God, for ALL things.
IS not your husband or wife your neighbor?
Aren't we glad that God did not just throw us away or over the cliff when He was righfully mad at us for our sins?
Did God make any junk?
If Jesus didn;t want to throw me away, I for sure am not going to throw my wife over the cliff either.
Many a husband has been won to Christ by the CHASTE CONVERSATION (CONDUCT) of the godly and faithful wife. I know of multiple instances where this has happened, including in my own wife's family.
SO good to have that lost husband come into the fold of God's marvellous LOVE and family and now he can enjoy the fellowship of God's family here on earth as well.
Nay brother. Unless she is at risk of physical harm or danger this is not the thing to do.
How do we know it wasn't God's plan to have her in this situation to be able to be a living testimny to him? We don't, and may I remind that the prophet Hosea I believe it was had an unfaithful wife who kept running away and he would faithfully go after her time after time. She finally settled down.
But it was GOD'S plan for HIM because God was trying to teach him something through this for God's purpose.
Oh my brother, please give heed to PL's counsel and to mine for the sake of God and the Word.
GOd's love to us (Agape) is an amazing thing and we are to have philio love toward one another.
Linda should be the faithful witness, ever diligent, and ever faithful, a walking Bible and image of a transformed life due to the POWER of a LOVING GOD who wants to impart that same grace and same LOVE unto her husband.
"He is not willing that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentence". 2 Pet. 3: 9 God wants her husband to come to Jesus!
Given in Christian love brother,
MIB

Preciouslife,
Your words are....... precious.
Indeed and amen!
This is always the trouble with a discussion group relevant to Biblical doctrines. Too many times I have seen this where it is most difficult to express anything or make a correction without human emotions getting involved.
"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have LOVE one for another" John 13: 35
John 13:34
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
John 15:52
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Romans 12: 10
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Hebrews 10: 24
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
I Thess. 3: 12
And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
I Pet. 3: 8
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
I John 4: 11
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
I John 4:12
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
2 John 1: 5
And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

John 1: 14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Phillipians 2: 5 - 8
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
My addendum to what BB said was trying to get folks to understand that while God in the flesh indeed had to take upon himself the IMAGE and FORM and LIKENESS of man, it was because HE WAS GOD that the sacrifice ans atonement for our sins was accomplished.
Hope these verses help out a little because they show that He was still GOD in the flesh. Otherwise, we have no Incarnate Christ, and I have bnever seen a grave yet or tomb where a man that had died and was buried, his bones were not still there.
As I said, BB was not entirely wrong, and actually brings out a good point if we wanted to talk about the humanity of Christ and how that is in harmony with the scriptures in HEBREWS as well as other places, but the importance of having a great High Priest cannot be overstated.
Indeed Christ did take upon himself a body of flesh. It housed a DIVINE SPIRIT, God HIMSELF.
Hope this helps ease the understanding of the point I had tried to make.
Apologies to all the hurt feelings.
Shalom.
MIB
Veritas,
brother Jack and I have a enjoyed a longtime friendship.
MIB
V,
Tired of the snotty juvenile remarks. At my age and with limited time, I have people who actually want me to instruct them willingly and gladly.
BB's answer was broad but needed some refinement because of the harmony of the doctrinal areas of the Word, else CHRIST need not not have gone to Calvary if we follow BB's plan. ANY old man that lived a "good" life, nay, even a "snless" life would have done just fine and the blood coursing through the veins any ordinary blood from any old human.
Glad my salvation is not depending on that. My supposed quickened body is deteriorating rapidly it has been so quickened. Can't wait to have it happen all over again.
There is no need for me to continue. I wish you god speed brother and best of luck.
See you in heaven someday by the Blood of the slain LAMB of GOD.
MIB
Brad,
Believe what you want. Read the accounts of the birth of Christ for yourself and see who the FATHER was.
Lineages don't have a thing to do with it and as for your pompous comment, you really should check your attitude dear brother.
You guys said this was a board for STUDY, and when someone who has been head of a Fundsamental Bible College comes into your midst and who has pastored for a very long time, you act like you are offended when I try to give out a little different and better understanding.
Religiosity stinketh and so does legalism. Jesus couldn't tell the pharisees anything either and finally had enough of them too.
I am pleased to say I am a HOLY, DIVINE, BLOOD BOUGHT CHILD of the KING, WHO LOVED ME, and GAVE HIMSELF FOR ME.
IN case you didn't know it smart guy, the lineage to Christ from the throne of David was through MARY and I will not waste my time explaining how that works in a Hebrew nation to someone who appreciates nothing.
Now you know why my life verse is 2 Tim. 2: 15
(I used a numeral two so I did not accidentally not depress the letter I twice again for BB's benefit)after all, he has never made a typo or a mistake or he would be less quick with his tongue..
Veritas,
good luck my brother. This bunch is not interested in Bible study. I have no desire to put up the crass comments from supposed fellow believers. The unsaved act better than this.
Good bye and good luck,
MIB.
Veritas and fellow believers
I am sorry to have caused such upset to BB.
My humble apologies for trying to help edify. If you want to believe that you are SAVED and CLEANSED by a human's blood, that is up to you.
I am not up to arguing or causing dissent either in Church or on a board such as this.
When Appolos came teaching something at church that was not quite correct, he willing allowed Aquilla and Priscilla to edify him and give him better understanding.
I suggest BB look at the gospels to see where it says Joseph was Christ's father since he claims Christ's blood was not divine and oure. The Bible declares Him to be the "spotless" Lamb of God. That includes the blood flowing through his veins. BTW, scientific fact, guess where your DNA and blood type comes from?
LAst lessin. The Incarnate Christ. I would advise strongly BB do a lot of reading on that subject.
There is a HUGE difference between God in the flesh and calling Jesus just a man.
Brothers, I am gone and out of here.
I will not stay for the fracas or sideshow. The scriptures should not be used insuch a way as this and I willhave no part of it.
I apologize and ask forgiveness.
My best to you all,
MIB
Blessed Lord's Day greetings to the brethren!
Well now, I have had a full and busy day so far! Christ was preached, Jesus was lifted up, souls were saved, the Father was pleased and exalted, and we were priviliged to come into His presence by the power of the CROSS and the SHED BLOOD of Christ, which purges and takes away all our sins.
We need to bear in mind that without the shedding of BLOOD there is now remission of sins.
A good hard study of some of my favorite passages in God's Word are found in Hebrews chapters 9 and 10.
These two chapters in their entirety directly answer what my question was to BB.
Speaking of whom, he gave a preety good accounting of what he meant but I want to add to it for clarity.
I fear we run the risk of giving MAN too much credit for things here.
Scripture plainly tells us there is no good thing in man and consequently is wan't just a MAN that was needed as an ATONING and REDEEMING sacrifice.
Herein lies the critical crux brethren. The question posed and the issue raised by BB gets into more than a simple question and answer. It delves into great DOCTRINES and FOUNDATIONAL FUNDAMENTALS of the FAITH.
We are talking about SOTERIOLOGY principally and sub texts dealing with what God pre-ordained before He ever created the earth or man, and HOW he was going to redeem mankind to HIMSELF, and what would be the only acceptable offering or sacrifice to bring that about, and it did not include man as the answer.
Before I make this seem as am attack on BB, let me clearly state this is definitely not.
BB did a comendable job with his explanation and to the untrained and unstudied mind it might appear to be right on, but it falls a little short and also could be misconstrued.
What is commendable is that he realizes and points out that most people fail to realize that Christ indeed was 100 percent God and 100 percent MAN while he dwelt among us in a man's physical form, yet BORN OF A VIRGIN... OOOOOPPPPPPPPPPS!
There is the problem when we emphasize the humanity of Christ TOO much. We lose sight that Christ's existence was of a DIVINE nature at birth, and necessarily so.
He had no HUMAN BLOOD.
IT WAS PURE and HOLY and WITHOUT SPOT. He did not possess HUMAN DNA because he had no human daddy.
Lastly, because I do not wish to nor have time today, to get into all the rest of the doctrinal issues presented here,
GOD DIED FOR MAN, not man dieing for man.
Elsewise you can take the entire Roman's road verses andmany others and remove them from the Word.
Salvation was the GIFT OF GOD, not of works, lest ANY MAN should boast.
JESUS PAID IT ALL. He tasted death and bore our penalties in his own body for our sins upon that cross ONCE FOR ALL ACCORDING TO hEBREWS AND NOTHING SHORT OF DIVINE BLOOD and DIVINE ORIGIN was going to suffice for this tremendous sin debt that mankind owed.
Yes, Jesus lived a sinless life in a man's body and that is an entirely another discussion as to doctrinal study, and thank God we have NOT a great high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin!
Brethren, NO MAN was ever going to be able to live a sinless life, or be the PROPITIATION of our sins. ONLY the SON of GOD, and GOD THE SON, was appointed once to die for mankind and to reeem him back to God, for whosoever may come!
Praise God that He loved us and planned for our redemption before He ever created heaven or earth or mankind. Thank HIm that whosoever may freely come and taste and see that in HIM are the keys to life and they are free to all who would come!
Blessings this Blessed Lord's Day brethren.
In Christ Jesus and His Bond Slave forever,
MIB
BB,
I would
like to explore this statement of yours a bit more so I get full clarity as to exactly what you mean by it.
"Man caused the problem of death, separation from God, and man was required to correct it. The MAN, Christ Jesus!"
Would you explain this please?
Thank you,
MIB
Brad,
I could agree with that.
I have spent too long in that arena and it is very fascinating indeed.
Not trying to be argumentative but I can see how it could have come across that way. Forgive me.
I enjoy the many chapters in Isaiah dealing with this time period and especially whatthe conditions are like after the battle of Armageddon, and how long do the unsave live that entered into this age on this planet.
Fascinating studies ti be had indeed but we will eventually know the truth first hand so no need to speculate, amen?
Blessings,
MIB
BB,
Please have grace enough to allow my fingers, one of which is badly disfigured from arthritis, to make a simple typo and not get the second stroke on the "I" key down all the way, thus making it appear that as FIRST Timothy instead of Second Timothy.
I do pray God that you do not ever make a simple typo and have your credibility called into question because of it.
This does happen with me often so be aware of it and thank the Lord if you do not have this disease in your hand and fingers.
Blessings this day,
MIB
bizzyboy
I do not understand what your phrasemeans.
I agree that religion is a gateway to hell.
Relationship with Christ is the ONLY way to eternity with Christ.
But I also believe that as believers and as teachers and preachers of God's inspired, plenary, holy Word, we are held accountable for what we say and for HOW we instruct others, and hopefully not lead anyone down a path of destruction.
I Tim 2: 15 is my life verse.
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
I fear and tremble every time I stand and proclain the Word. I do it with fear and much prayer on my knees.
Constantly searching the scriptures and exogeting them properly, comparing proper times and teachings one with another so things are in unity and continuum one end of the book to the other, in coplete perfect harmony and agreement.
Religiosity. Strange word. What are you getting at?
Do you know about Dr. John Gill?
He was Spurgeon's predecessor by about 100 years at the same church and pulpit. A great man of God and greatly used as well.
It always does a man good to read what other great Biblical men and Godly men thought about certain portions of scriptures. They ALL cannot be wrong and you alone correct.
Blessings in Christ Jesus,
MIB
Take Up Thy Cross
I was listening to Dr. Charles Keen, my Pastor for a number of years on a cassette tape. He was preaching on making life work.
He said something that got my mind to thinking. I want to share that with you today.
The text for the thought is Mathew 10: 21
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
In particular, note the bolded part of the verse.
Dr. Keen was preaching on Christ's wisdom that He came to re-inforce and give to man. This was found in I Corinthian 1: 30. We wouldn't go anywhere else but to Christ for REDEMPTION. We wouldn't go anywhere else but to Christ for RIGHTEOUSNESS. We wouldn't go anywhere else but to Christ for SANCTIFICATION, or SALVATION.
Then WHY would we go anywhere else but to Christ for WISDOM???? He is WISDOM. He is God. ALL wisdom comes from God.
But this, a blessing as it is, was not the thought. Jesus came to tell us how to succeed in life, how to make it work and be joyful.
There are two kinds of philosophy.
One is self or man centric.
The other is God-centric.
There are plenty of examples to look out that those who have followed their own ideas of living may have wealth, fame or fortune, but are miserable in their daily lives and lack joy and happiness and contentment.
Then there are those who look beyond, by faith, to eternity after this life is over and a new one begins.
Pleasing HIM who made us, and loved us and gave HIMSELF for us so that we could spend eternity with HIM. Now that is worth looking forward to, amen?
But I digress.
Why did JESUS say to this man to take up his cross and follow Jesus?
Was he to literally pick up some Roman cross and follow Christ? NO!!!
The cross was symbolic. It represents DEATH. All who were ever put on a ROMAN cross were there to do one thing and one thing only, to die! It was a horrible way to die and a cruel one. But the cross stands for death!
Jesus was saying to this person, and to us, IF YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY IN LIFE, DIE TO SELF, DIE TO YOUR PHILOSOPHY AND YOUR IDEAS AND FOLLOW ME AND PUT INTO PRACTICE MY IDEAS AND COMMANDS.
WE need to die to our desires and our wants and to seek out what CHRIST would have us to do. LIVE for HIM. LOVE our neighbors as ourselves. Pray for them that despitefully use us and abuse us!
Oh my friends, this has come home to convict and haunt me like an arrow piercing through me.
I have been less than kind and gracious to some who have attacked me and assaulted my character, my intellect, and some other areas I don't care to go into.
My flesh wants to, no, screams out at me to lash out and get even, and to some extent I did.
BUT WE ARE TO TAKE UP OUR CROSS AND FOLLOW HIM!
Matthew 5:44 says that my response should have been
"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; "
Oh the joys and blessings we miss out on when we do not die to the flesh, ourselves, and obey Christ.
It is difficult and we are not perfect, just forgiven by HIM when we come to HIM , confess our sins, and He forgives us of them and washes us white as snow with the precious shed blood of the spotless Lamb of God. God the Father looks down from the throne and sees us throught the crimson blood of Jesus applied to our hearts and souls and sees us in the PURE PRISTINE WHITE RIGHTEOSNESS OF CHRIST that HE has placed upon us!
Take up your cross and follow HIM. Oh what a joy to do so. My life is but a vapour appearing for a short time and then vanishing away in this world but I have an eternity ahead of me to live in GOD'S presence and walk the streets of GOLD and sing songs of praise to HIM who reigns upon the throne forever!
Folks, please get ahold of the meaning of taking up your cross and following Him! In it you will have joy unspeakable and full of Glory!
May God bless you abundantly as you follow HIM and live for Christ!
Blessings,
MIB
WORD for the Day
Deuteronomy 28:1-2
1
"And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:"
2
"And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God."
How many blessings do we miss out on in our lives because we do not take time to LISTEN to what God has to say to us through HIS written WORD?????
How much better might my life and relationship be if I were more OBEDIENT to God's Word and directives!
Somebody's Got to Move: A lesson on FORGIVENESS
Closing - that's what they call the day that you sign all those final papers to buy your home. I remember it well. It was a long time ago, but, I know that you're finally allowed to start moving in - after your closing. You see, we sat with the previous owner in the attorney's office and I got to write enough checks to wallpaper at least one wall! Now, they wouldn't let us move anything in until closing day. That's the law. It was still the home of the previous owner until that day. But as soon as we left that office the truck could roll, and it did. And all our stuff could get moved in. Of course this all has to be carefully timed - one family has to be out before another family can move in, right? Sure! What if we had rolled up with our truck and the previous owners were still there? We can't both live there! One has to move out before the other can move in.
I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Somebody's Got to Move!"
Our word for today from the Word of God comes from Hebrews 12:15. God is showing us, here, that there are two things that can't live in the same house at the same time; actually, in the same heart. There's no way they can co-exist. Here's what it says, "
See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many."
Now, with the stress you have, you sure don't want to miss God's grace and His sustaining love. But this says you can, you can miss God's grace! How do you do that? Well, by having this other guy living in your heart. It talks about having "no bitter root."
If bitterness is living in your heart, grace cannot move in. One or the other has got to go.
Could it be that part of your stress is a poisonous root of bitterness in your heart? Maybe you've been hurt, maybe you've been rejected, maybe you've been abused, disappointed, and there's a growing resentment in your heart. Notice - growing. It says the bitter root grows. Bitterness and anger never stand still, they keep growing. They start to "defile many," to spill over into other close relationships.
Just last week a mother told me about how she'd been hurt some years before and how her heart, she said, had grown hard. She said, "Now my hard heart is affecting my husband and my children." You see, it was bitterness that turned it hard. The irony is that a grudge chains you emotionally to the person you dislike. "I don't like so and so, so I'll think about her a lot." That's what happens!
Unforgiveness is like this emotional cancer and it eats you up inside. It costs you God's sustaining grace, and they can't live in the same house at the same time!
Isn't it time you released that bitterness? Hasn't it done enough damage? It isn't hurting the person you're bitter toward, but it's hurting you, and! probably others you love. Bitterness can only be moved out by something called forgiveness.
Going to the Great Forgiver, the One who said of those who had just nailed Him to a cross, "Father, forgive them," and you say, "Lord, give me the grace to release this person, to forgive them, to release them to You." Not to excuse them, but choosing to treat them not as they treated me, but as Jesus treated me.
The Pressure, The Pain, and The Prescription
A cold is no big deal, unless it decides to expand its coverage from your nose to your ears. And even that is no big deal unless you're coming down from 30,000 feet up in a commercial airliner. Now, this is not a medical news bulletin; it's a personal testimony. I could feel a little something in my ears before I took off, but I didn't have any idea how the altitude ups and downs of my flight were going to totally block my ears and cause me some nasty pain on the way down. The poor lady next to me was telling me some of her heartaches and I kept yawning to keep my head from exploding. And as my ears got more and more clogged, it was like somebody had turned down the volume knob on what she was saying. She must have thought I was a really great listener. Well, it was a painful afternoon, but the changing pressure in that plane let me know that I had a problem and it drove me to do what I usually try to avoid, go to the doctor. I'm glad I did - he really helped me.
I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "The Pressure, the Pain, and the Prescription."
Increased pressure actually showed me an infection I really needed to deal with. Really, pressure has a way of exposing a lot of problems that need attention.
Maybe the words "increasing pressure" describe your "flight" right now, pressure that's causing some significant pain. It could be that the pressure and the pain is in your marriage or maybe your work. For you, the squeeze might be financial or it could be something in an important relationship, but the stress is building.
And you don't like what that pressure is doing to you. And, like the pressure I experienced on that flight, there's pain. Could it be there's a purpose in what's happening to get you to the Doctor?
Our word for today from the Word of God comes from Psalm 32:1 and the following. The great Jewish King David was having a painful flight, and he was feeling the pressure. But it's getting him to face some things he might otherwise not have faced.
These words from his personal diary start out with what he learned from this hurting time. He says,
"Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered."
Now it was the pain and pressure that got him to that point of spiritual and emotional freedom. Here is what he says, "
When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer."
Maybe you understand some of those feelings - like there's this heavy hand on you, extended times of sadness. There's a stress that's draining you, maybe even physical symptoms. My pain and my pressure on that flight exposed a deeper problem and it led me to healing. David's pain and pressure exposed his spiritual need and it led him to healing. You may be at that same threshold. Now David's had a happy ending, one which may be exactly where you will find your happy ending. He says,
"Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, 'I will confess my transgressions to the Lord' - and You forgave the guilt of my sin."
God sometimes actually lets the pressure build so we will finally deal with what is really wrong inside us - the sin that we've never taken care of. David went to the Soul Doctor and came away a man who was forgiven and clean. That could happen to you - that same liberation - if you'll finally let go of your pride and go to the Forgiving Place. It's the cross where Jesus loved you so much that He died for all the sins you've ever committed. When He said, "Father, forgive them" on that cross, He was forgiving you.
If you'll put your total trust in Jesus Christ to be your Savior from your sin, you will be clean. All this pressure and all this pain has been to let you know there's someth ing wrong deep down inside, the deadly infection of sin that only Jesus Christ can cure. This could be your time to finally be forgiven. If you want that, tell Him, "Jesus, I'm Yours." And let us give you some practical help in beginning a relationship with Jesus Christ at our website. Just visit us at yoursforlife.net. Or I'll send you my booklet called Your For Life if you'll just call toll free for it at 877-741-1200.
Amen Tenac!
I like John MacArthur also.
I think though I wish John would have said The truthfullness of God's WORD is at stake in the Second Coming.
And not just truthfullness. Infallability of His WORD.
He spoke it and it is FINAL. He does not deviate like men. As you point out so well, His Word is Truth.. Not only does all Wisdom and KNowledge come from God, but all TRUTH comes from God as well.
Thank you for posting this because it is great reading and truth!
Blessings,

O.T. An MIB announcement
Board, moderators, and assistants.
I am not much good at trying to be something I am not and I do not desire to be deceptive. I have been asked kindly by more than one person to return to the board on any kind of basis.
MIB does not stand for Men in Black. It means Micro Is Back.
I cleared this with Matt and explained things to him. We are okay. We retired my old micro handle from here and agreed to let there be a new beginning.
I want to say hello to all my long time friends who are still hanging around and wish all here all the success of their investment. Be assured I am not anti wavx. On the contrary I hold every single share I purchased over the years.
There have been events in the past that are best left in the past. I am writing this so there is no doubt or specualtion that this is really me.
Not rying to be a secret agent because I am the worst ever at trying to be sneaky. It just isn't me.
I simply desire to occasionally post a little DD or have an occasional thought and question as many here do.
I wish to offend nobody and hope that you will accept my explanation for my identity for what it is, being candid and forthright. I am sorry if this bothers some folks.
Thank you and hopefully this will end any doubt or speculation. I have asked numerous folks about this and been counseled it would be a good thing to do so I went with the advice.
I apologize for the off topic post in advance.
the best,
micro...
