Sure. Been doing this for 45 years, made a fair amount of $$$, all just luck. Amazing.
DARA just surged on a rumor that it’s an Ebola play!
At this point I would bet money that the execs and the scientists and the PR department of every half-baked small bio in the known universe has had an off-the-record exchange asking the same question: Is there any way under heaven that we can make this claim?
This is getting absurd.
Also out with a nice profit from Friday.
It's as much an Ebola play as Jello.
At this point every friggin' company in the world can claim to be an Ebola play and the stock doubles. Getting ridiculous.
Running on some stupid, baseless rumor that it's an Ebola play! It's as much an Ebola play as Jello.
At this point, every friggin' company in the world can just claim that they're an Ebola play and the stock doubles. Getting ridiculous.
DARA- Out 10K shares @.89 from .82.
Maybe it will run, but I don't really like the company and I'm happy with my profit. Moving on!
I realize that Ebola is on everyone's mind, but I'm surprised that there's not more chatter here about this Wednesday's TKMR presentation at the OTS meeting.
Depending on what data are released, it could be important.
Can't reply on other board, so doing so here:
The reply about your stop order not executing in a fast-moving market is incorrect.
Once the stop order amount is reached, it automatically is changed to a market order. Like all market orders, it will be executed at the best possible price.
Granted, in a fast-moving market this may be below your original stop order amount, but it will be executed.
Don't get discouraged, many very experienced biotech traders got killed on that one (some are admitting it, some are lying), keep fighting and you'll get it back.
Bought in last week, best of luck to all here.
Don't know if this has been posted (apologies if it has) but here's a link to an excellent chart showing all the experimental Ebola drugs.
http://apps.washingtonpost.com/g/page/national/experimental-drugs-used-for-ebola/1361/
DARA- As I said before, I'm not a fan of the company, but at this valuation I'm taking a chance. Just bought a moderate-size position.
That article is from May. And they merely requested product samples. If GTAT goes BK, Samsung & LG will not be using their product.
What can you do these days? On Monday I saw someone Tweeting that Google is an Ebola play, because people are going to stay home more and surf the net!
This came out after hours:
GT Advanced (GTAT) Ultra Secret Bankruptcy Hearing 'Bizarre' Says Analyst, Warns Investors Not to 'Bottom-Fish'
http://www.streetinsider.com/Analyst+Comments/GT+Advanced+%28GTAT%29+Ultra+Secret+Bankruptcy+Hearing+Bizarre+Says+Analyst%2C+Warns+Investors+Not+to+Bottom-Fish/9901192.html
I'm still on the sidelines.
I'm having a lot of trouble understanding why many posters think that the outcome of this court hearing will be GTAT and APPL reaching some sort of deal.
As you said, that would have occurred before the BK filing.
This is a vaccine developed by NIAD (U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases).
It's not affiliated with TKMR or any other company.
LOL. I hear you, not my favorite company, just trying to play the chart for a small pop.
He's been pounding the table about DARA being way under-valued @ sub-.90.
Been looking at it, any thoughts? TIA.
I couldn't agree more about the workaround with Apple: in the past few days, that's the part that has just not made sense. Major companies don't file for BK with no notice, something else is and has been going on behind the scenes.
This one is going to make all the lawyers on both sides plenty of money.
I traded in and out of it all morning and made a bit. All out now and for the forseeable future. Best of luck.
PS: On another note, the insanity on this board really demonstrates the uselessness of message boards when the shit hits the fan.
G.- I don't have private messaging any longer, so: this is a tad insane.
This board is obviously totally useless for any serious analysis.
What's your best guess as to what's going on? TIA. -ob
C'mon now, your double was just fantastic trading.
People always talk about getting a double, but in my experience they are rare.
Great job.
ARWR: Arrowhead Research (ARWR) Issues Letter to Shareholders Following Selloff
http://www.streetinsider.com/Momentum+Movers/Arrowhead+Research+%28ARWR%29+Issues+Letter+to+Shareholders+Following+Selloff/9899115.html
Hang in there, my friend.
I'm a big believer in PSTI, both fundamentally and chart-wise, anything around $3.20 is good.
I'm also looking at DARA anywhere around .87, but it is darn risky.
I second that: it's all about attitude, just roll up your sleeves and make it back.
Perhaps OT: at least you're admitting your loss and your own mistake. It happens to everyone. What annoys me is when people who have posted about buying at $14, $15, $16+ now say that they got out losing only a few dollars. Yeah, right.
Roy puts the A in anal! But he's one of the most knowledgeable biotech guys out there.
Again, best of luck.
Man, I'm sorry, I've been there a few times.
I always have a beer or two, take a deep breath, look at my remaining funds and tell myself, "I'm going to get it back and then some!"
Keep fighting.
H.- Responding here because DD will quickly remove OT clutter.
I didn't mean for my post to be sprinkling salt in his wounds, I 100% agree with you that it might have sounded that way but I hate that sort of stuff. I've lost enough to know how it feels.
Best of luck in all your trades. -ob
ARWR- Halted again. Ouch.
Actually, I think that it's going to slip further when it re-opens.
Still think it's a good company, but all their positive timelines just moved further out. Either put it on the back of the stove for a long term hold, or take the loss and move on: what else can you do? I feel your pain.
Biotech is a b****.
EDIT: Very knowledge biotech guy on Twitter just predicted it will go back to $5!!!!!!
The data that they just released in their abstract is not good. They're comparing it to chimp data, which at this stage is sort of a step backwards.
ARWR- Circuit-breaker halt. Wow!!!!!
OT:
ARWR- Oops, don't like the market reaction, out quickly with a very small loss. Will look to re-buy later.
Still in PSTI.
Waiting to see if their late-breaking abstract is accepted for the AASLD (American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases) 2014 meeting in November.
Should know any minute. If so, I expect a PPS reaction.
ARWR Added a little here @12.08. On sale, IMHO.
