Not aware of a new PR. Can you provide some info?
Thanks for the response. You are right, there is much I don't know about SFMI. Guys like you who are willing to set me straight are most appreciated. I haven't done pennies for that long and must be honest ... most of them are only so much hot air. Most of the others are merely timing and momentum plays, nothing more. Thanks to you and others there is a growing body of evidence that is starting to sway my thinking that perhaps this may be the real deal long term. But I am exceedingly cautious because of several that I did exhaustive DD on, convinced myself they were legit, and then ultimately realized it was all so much hot air and slick marketing, pumping and dumping. The no revenue thing about SFMI still bugs me quite a bit.
And, of course, I certainly do not doubt the historical data concerning gold/silver mined here. Less comfortable with the current finds cause I really don't know much of anything there.
Guess I have more research to do.
Any idea when the next 10Q due out?
Thanks again.
Any idea when the 10K will be forthcoming? I would absolutely love some confirmation about some of this stuff I am reading.
Enjoy chatting with you. If I become a pest let me know and I will cease and desist.
The real name is actually Ed (and I really am a Jr.). Quite fortunate we had my Dad as long as we did. He worked until his mid 80s (no one else knew how to repair the old German printing presses in his shop), drove and lived by himself until age 93 when he went to assisted living voluntarily to be with his girl friend that he had first dated before WWII. He did amazingly well thru age 98 and then sprialed down gradually. don't know if I will make it that far but just in case I have a great LTC policy.
Take it easy and good trading.
Ed
Perhaps you are right ... and perhaps you are not.
What is the harm in the company disclosing this information? Another curious gap of information.
Thanks as always Surf. I really appreciate your continuing lessons for EboJr.
In case you were wondering ... I grew up in rural NC and spent my first career in the Army. Everyone back home had a nickname. My Dad's nickname was Ebo (pronounced Eh Bow). Haven't got a clue where it came from, no one remembers that long ago. Lost him at age 100 last summer.
My friends called me Ebo Junior ... thus my handle here.
You are most welcome to delete this unsolicited trivia!
Anton - hear me out here. Realize you don't have to agree and that's OK. If I turn out to be wrong I will be the first to say congratulations to those of you who are big time long on this sucker. I actually jumped in with both feet several months ago with an average basis of about .17 pps. But then I did what I should have done before I went long ... I did a lot of after the fact DD. Did not like what I saw. Luckily did not get killed in the interim. Started getting out a bit at a time in Jan/Feb. Overall probably a break even. Even kept a small stake and have continued to track. Sustained down trend since 10 Jan 11. Did not realize these IHub boards even existed until late Feb.
I certainly agree that gold and silver are headed even higher. Of course, that is great news for companies that are finding gold and silver. And at these high prices, it also makes using previously cost prohibitive recovery processes economically feasible.
But ... I have yet to see any evidence that SFMI has found or has any gold or silver to speak of. They certainly don't have any revenue that I can find. Instead, all I can find is promises, promises (or maybe that is excuses, excuses). Dore bars? OK, how many, what weight and rough composition?
If SFMI is truly finding and processing mucho gold and silver, then they need to demonstrate it to the world. If they are finding gold and silver by the truckload then they have absolutely no reason not to report it. If true, their stock would skyrocket overnight. Such info would be a self pumper. The fact that they continue to not report amounts of gold and silver leads me to conclude (as another frequent poster has done many times) that perhaps they are really only finding gold and silver by the thimble full instead. I am not a gold bug and I certainly do not pretend to be a mining expert. I am not. But I am a businessman. It makes absolutely no business sense to hoard it for a rainy day when they still report zero revenue. If they have truly found the Midas vein from the 1800s, they need to invest in themselves to take full advantage of it. I am just not seeing them act as a profit hungry business person struggling to keep a company afloat and growing should.
Hey I realize we all want this to turn into the next ABX so we can tell our grandkids that we were smart enough to buy when it was just a glimmer in the assayer's eye and just pennies a share. And if it does, great. But I fear there is a lot of fantasy land and undocumented hype here. This stock has been pumped more times than an employee of a certain Nevada Ranch.
I hope I am wrong but so far I don't see it. I decided to back out of what I now consider to be a reckless buy on my part. I just don't think this is the no brainer that many are touting it to be.
For your consideration. Hope you can prove me wrong.
Good luck.
I take it that in your experience, a low volume jump is sometimes caused by those in the know buying in before the PR campaign starts. But I guess there is no way to tell for sure until after the fact.
Excellent summary Heywoody. Awfully glad you were able to talk to one of "them."
Thanks for pushing through on this. A tip of the hat to you.
You clearly understand this stock better than I do. Sorry to be a pest. But ... below is lifted directly from a recent HPGS 8K. Any idea when this transitional report might be released?
+++++++++
High Plains will file a Transitional Report on Form 10-K for the nine months ended December 31, 2010, containing audited financial statements for the nine month period, and containing unaudited comparative information for the same period in the prior year. High Plains will then file its quarterly and annual reports for the new fiscal year ending December 31.
+++++++++
I have closely reviewed all of the SEC filings going back as far as I can locate them. The last 10-K was filed on Aug 20, 2010 covering thru 30 June 2010. I cannot find a subsequent 10-K on file since that one. I am used to following companies who report like clockwork. HPGS has filed numerous 8Ks in the ensuing months but no audited or unaudited financial info that addresses any thing after 30 June 2010.
Please help me understand what is going on here. 8Ks do not replace 10Ks. I will bother you no more.
Thanks for the added info. Hope it is true.
Understand. Thanks
Yes, you are correct. That's probably what I did. Sure looked like a cut and paste job to me.
More troubling, of course, there was never any feedback with the results of that older post. Just as I suspect we will never hear any feedback from this newer post.
I guess it is more the lack of info than anything else that concerns me. Their 10Q ending June 30, 2010 reflected 0 revenue. Their 10Q ending September 30, 2010 does not appear to have been submitted. The NT 10Q late notice seems to indicate that a late report ending Sep 30 should have been submitted by now but has not as far as I can tell.
Plus I think the 10Q ending 31 Dec 10 ought be on the street soon as well.
Not accusing anybody of anything but this lack of info seems to apply to HPGS as well as RAPT. Awfully hard to make reasoned decisions about investing when revenue data is lacking.
That's all I am saying.
Oscar ... what's your take on the recent upward progress of HPGS? Only a bit of news that I can find. Haven't seen any pumps either but there easily could be some.
Suggest you look at the recent history (since Dec 2010) of this supposed stock. They have sold many tens of millions of shares. IMO this is just another attempt by the pumpers to sucker in new "investors" so they can add a bit more to their take. IMO.
Heck, yesterday there was a WLOC board completely separate from this one. Also, yesterday there was also a WLOCD board which seemed to be this one that contained all of the misery this stock has caused over the past several months. Now today, WLOCD board no longer exists ... seems to have been renamed WLOC. And yesterday's WLOC board (which only had a handful of posts from posters clearly unfamiliar with the recent saga) has disappeared completely.
Also appears that they are recycling their PRs that were used in the past several months.
This stock was basically worthless when it ran up to nearly 3 bucks a share (pre-split), was 4 x worthless after the 4:1 split, and is certainly worthless (0 revenue) now.
If you want to game this stock, go for it. But it certainly is not a viable long term investment.
Please, do some hard DD and I believe you will understand what I am saying.
Hey .. was what I did (tell the truth) against any TOS for IHUB?
Flack I can handle. Will add those who complain to my list of people to ignore ... a list which is growing every day!
Wouldn't be right, in my view, to let unsuspecting folks walk into an L shaped ambush that I was certain was waiting for them. I only had a small loss on WLOCD but the pumpers tactics turned my stomach. At least pps is so low right now (around .10 - down from a presplit high of nearly 3 beans) that hopefully the damage will be small ... if they believe me.
And what do you base this assessment on?
And what do you base this assessment on??
Thanks Lucky. Quite a track record.
Is there anything here?
Board is split down the middle methinks.
In case you were not aware, someone has started a board called WLOC. Several posters there are clearly clueless about the recent massive dump on this sucker. This stock may have interest from losers trying to get their shirts back.
Warn your neighbors, warn your friends, warn your enemies, post a caution on WLOC.
Not disagreeing with you Oscar but I remain concerned that we are still awaiting feedback from RAPT management.
Any idea of when we might see the next 10Q? Perhaps Heywoody would ask that if its not on his list already.
In addition, I urge a bit of caution about being too optimistic of RAPT moving to NASDAQ real quickly. Number of gates they have to hit, one of which is sustained pps of 5 bucks or more for multiple months. That does not happen overnight.
Not saying they can't meet the requirements of moving up but I can't see how it could happen quickly.
Anton ... appreciate your thoughts. I realize I am new to SFMI and to this board and that there is much I probably don't understand. Certainly not after instant gratification either ... apologize if that's the message I sent. I am most definitely long in this stock and am willing to be patient.
But I do have several questions that perhaps you can address.
1. SFMI has a long track record based on my review of charts going back at least to 2008. Appears to have been a huge run-up starting perhaps last Mar thru o/a 10 May 10 when it dropped like a stone. It sure charts like a pump and dump ... was it?
2. Since the drop, SFMI has been trading in a range averaging in the mid to high teens with a couple of short visits to around .25 only to quickly drop. Were these further pumps?
3. Also found it curious that this board exceeds 30,000 posts that go back a number of years. What's your take on that. Awfully long track record and loads of long term interest for a penny, many of which shine brightly a couple of times and then blink out.
I am also invested in and participate in the RAPT board. In fact, I got interested in SFMI when one of my fellow boarders there pointed to SFMI as a company that might benefit from RAPT's recovery technology. I liked what I saw and am trying to get up to speed. Always get nervous when reported revenue is nada. In this case it just seems odd that apparently some revenue is just sitting idle. Help me understand this approach. Are they going for a home run once they have done more processing instead of a little bit at a time?
Suggest you read your own posts. You seem to be Mr. Moonship. Certainly isn't me.
And I certainly am not one of your kids.
Any idea when we should see the next 10Q?
Understand. Wanted to make sure you knew this stuff had been bouncing around for a while.
Something is strange here.
What you posted is old news. What makes no sense is why a company that seems to be reporting no revenue would be sitting on a potentially very valuable amount of precious metals.
Show me the money!
Oscar,
I am still concerned about the lack of info from the company. I know Heywoody was trying to contact Gleason but had been unsuccessful.
The silence is deafening.
You hearing anything?
I am someone who would like to see some level of rationale for your never ending moon shot projections. As near as I can tell, there is nothing even on the launching pad at this time. Perhaps in the assembly building but that remains to be seen.
I have been following RAPT for several months and have been posting on this board since early Feb.
Why do you ask?
Probably spam that started who knows how. Plus a bit of anger after getting burned in KDKN a ways back ... what is that, trying to get even?
I'd get a "tip", write it down and track it on paper. Seemed to be a generalized pattern wherein if you got in early (as in day one) you could make a decent profit so long as you did not get greedy and "let it ride." Hanging on was a sure way to failure. Only later did I discover these boards. Quite honestly, much of what I read is clear hogwash. Short bubbas faintly disguised as long proponents. "To the moon" buffoons, etc. But if anything is to be believed, I think some (perhaps you) make a nice buck at this. It tweaked my interest.
I spend my work day in front of a computer so it is easy to keep track in the background. And it occurred to me that I ought be smart enough to make a go of this with a very tiny part of my investable income. I am a dyed in the wool index fund guy with about 50k (less than 10% of what I have invested) in self managed stock account. That is sort of my play money but even most of that is in individual stocks like BRK.B. I will limit my pink plays to only about 10K total at any one time.
But then it occurred to me that it sure would be nice to be able to get in before the pump starts. Unfortunately I have not been able to figure out how to do that.
Perhaps the search for the golden penny is fruitless. I still don't know. But I still have a tendency to believe too much of what I read. These pumpers and PRs firms are quite slick and convincing.
That's my story and I am sticking to it. My one foray into options (I bought an advisory service from a supposedly reputable Chicago firm) was a disaster.
Maybe I am simply wasting my time. I sure am not going to bet the ranch on this stuff. But I sure would like to be able to beat these shysters are their own game, even if just for a small amount. I have seen too many apparent horror stories on these boards (if they are to be believed) so I will never over extend myself or put down more than I can afford to lose.
Thanks for listening.
EboJr
Heywoody ... I'm sure you would have told us if you had ... any luck contacting Gleason? If he wants investors instead of gamers in his stock, he needs to give us something to chew. If he doesn't have anything yet, then he needs to tell us (gasp!) the truth.
Thanks Surf. I'll try not to bother you so much.
I appreciate you taking the time to help me.
Yeah, probably overstatement on my part. Even though I did not discover previous PR campaigns to pump this stock (admittedly haven't looked that hard so far), this sucker has been out there for years with what appear to be the same unfulfilled promises.
I am used to doing DD based on real facts on companies that actually have production and revenue ... hard for me to separate wheat from chaff on these wanna be stocks.
In truth, I think my weak spot is trying to do my DD just like I do it on the bigger more established companies ... with information that is real and trustworthy. More I look into this the more it looks to be fantasy land.
Well said.
I am new to this board and have never had a position in KNKT so what happens to it does not affect me.
However, I got wind of today's plummet and have been reading the back and forth on KNKT out of curiosity more than anything else.
Was most amused to see big time 21 on your board. His "to the moon comments" occur throughout many boards.
His extraneous comments come with no shred of justification, DD or logic. I learned long ago to simply tune him out as so much hot air ... but hot air with his own personal agenda.
Speaking of gold ... as I was doing my DD on RAPT, caught wind of SFMI. Got interested because the technology for processing that RAPT claims to have would sure seem to be a marriage made in heaven for a company like SFMI that has hundreds of thousands of tons unprocessed material immediately available.
Regardless, I did some DD on SFMI ... it certainly appears to have great potential going forward, is not being pumped at present, etc.
You know anything about SFMI.
Surf ... honest injun I am new to these pennies this time around. Long time big board investor, however. Got burned several years ago on KDKN and stayed away until recently when I stumbled across your main board and liked what I saw. Decided to tiptoe back in with a small stake ... not in RAPT right now but I continue to follow a number of boards. But I base my decisions not on "moon shots" but on DD. RAPT, for example, claims to have some new recovery process that seems to have promise. But the mgmt team is awfully slow to provide any confirming evidence.
I think your last line about don't trust anyone is the best advice I need to take.
Was not my intent to confuse you.
Thanks for your help. Hope you don't mind if continue to follow your board.
Surf ... EboJr here. I am still trying to learn before I leap on these pennies.
I have been paper trading KNKT. Looked awfully overpriced to me after a tremendous positive run. Too scary for me. But then there are posters like big time 21 who do nothing but hype without evidence. Am I correct in assuming he is likely part of the pump and is likely a shorter?
Is this a good example of a classic pump and dump?
If you get a chance.
