Hi sts66; All you can do is try, I had been unsuccessful in convincing my diabetic brother-in-law to start on V. So then, 3 weeks ago I took him to the hospital on a Sunday(he was "not feeling well") and by that Th
he had had a quad by-pass and is now home recovering. So now he's ready to talk to his Dr. about V! I have no known heart issues and have now been on V for 2 months, paying $209/month, as Kaiser is not on board yet.
I wish you well with your brother!!
Hi Chas; Thank you, good work!!
Hi Bob; Now that's a good example of BS! ;.)
Hi Joe; And surprise, surprise; MaxPain is still at $18!! ;.)
Hi Raf; My alternative was to sell $16 Puts for Friday! ;.)
Hi jerry200; Correct; I have inherited Roth IRA and required withdrawals are "minimal" based on life expectancy and of course ALL TAX FREE!
Hi too_simple; There is no Roth conversion limit that I know of. The sensible limit is based upon the "tax bracket fill" strategy!
Hi Rose; Since we cannot be 100% certain about buyout another option
is to convert 50% of targeted amount. That way you'll at least be 50% correct! ;.)
Hi Rose; You should convert while low(like now) but not
"overfill" your tax bracket. If income is "low" you want to stay in the 12%
bracket so that when you sell AMRN from taxable account to pay taxes for
the conversion the capital gains get taxed at 0% !
I believe the correct prediction is "In the year 2525"!!
Hi Kiwi; My 0.07 EPA/AA is due to typical poor American "diet"; meat , bread, pasta. My special circumstances are that my wife eats and cooks NO seafood! So I almost only get seafood(salmon, etc) when we go out to dinner, which happily is more frequently now thank to AMRN!! ;.)
Hi massulo52; I'll post my updated numbers when I get them in 3 months. Meanwhile regarding V costs; I have Kaiser so V cost is 100% on me,
and I paid $210 for 120 at CVS with the Amarin discount card.
Best Wishes!
PSA? FYI My EPA/AA came in at a low 0.07 so I filled my first prescription yesterday and started my 4gm/day. No known heart issues, last trigs were 182 & 145. Taking Crestor 5mg 3x/week. I'll retest in 3 months, but I'm most interested in potential effect on my PSA, last values were 19.0 & 17.2(got most of you beat; ;.) )!
Hi CBB; Yes, I understand that, thanks for your post!
Sadly, even Dr. Sears does not yet appreciate difference between EPA and DHA; looks like it will take failure of STRENGTH(<10%RRR) to convince him!
Hi Sam81; Nothing to be sorry about! Enjoy the holiday and thank you for all you do!
Hi CaptBeer; I thought the "Hell Friends" greetings was
very reasonable especially for those of us who made it to Vegas.
But regardless, it has been a HELL of a ride! Thank you!!
Hi sts66; You CAN do that(use conversion $ to pay tax) but
it is a BAD idea! You want 100% of the $ converted to be in the Roth
earning tax free $ for life!
Hi dmiller; Mostly correct, BUT your Roth conversion statement is
not correct, and I had my understanding confirmed by a tax accountant last week!
Hi Alaway; Correct, buy/sells in IRAs(both types) are non taxable events!
But rather than buy/sell stock, better to be paid to buy and sell
by selling Calls and Puts with your trading shares. That's what I do to
make 1+%/week! Best Wishes!
Hi always; yes & no. See my post 186649
Hi dmiller; You are not correct! Any "normal" contribution to a Roth
can be taken out at any time and age with no tax or penalty. Any earnings
in a Roth can be taken with NO tax or penalty if 2 conditions are meet; 1) age is 59.5+ and 2) You have had ANY Roth account open over 5 years!!
Any Roth conversion is treated the same way as Roth earnings!
Hi North; I was quoted $52 for Quest Lab EPA/AA test!
Hi Joe, Ok, I missed it then, thank you!
hi North, Thank you!
Hi joe, Any way to tell when it was added. When I checked about 2 months ago I did not find it. So did I miss it or was it added in last 2 months?
Hi Duke; Thank you, my trigs were unusually "high" for me last time but only 185. My Kaiser Dr. gave me the script to fill on my own I believe
primarily because I was so "enthusiastic" about V! ;.)
Hi north; Thank you. Did they give you the EPA and AA values separate from the ratio?
Hi duke; I have Kaiser in Maryland. Vascepa is not yet in formulary here
and I just sent my Dr. request to encourage them to add it sooner rather than later. I got my V script from her but have not started it yet as I need script for EPA/AA ratio test for Quest labs to do the test and I want a baseline ratio test before I start!
Hi chas; Thank you for your twitter comments to AF & MH!
Hi PE; I agree, but back to $20 on 3/22/2019!
Hi biopa; maxpain is still at $15.00 for AMRN tomorrow. Last week was $21.50. Definitely peculiar! ;.)
I have not, but obviously some one will need to do a Vascepa + bempedoic acid study if not yet under way for the statin intolerant patients!
4/12/2019
Hi Sonam; Just another thank you!! ;.)
The max pain value for today was $21.50. Options issue!
Hi invest; It's sad to hear you and others refer to people as "contributors" and "takers" the way you do!
Hi Raf, So you only want FDA to check safety, you don't care about effectiveness? I disagree and I want government involved in most things
related to our safety; from maintaining an army to fighting global warming!
Ban assault rifles, majority rules!
Hi Raf; You are correct, so what's your point?
Society continues to derisk; seat belts mandatory and so
maybe some day Vascepa is subsidized by government as
well as by insurance companies!
Hi Nick; You are correct. You just have to have had A Roth account
open for 5 years before withdrawing the gains tax free after age 59-1/2
There is still some confusion about how to deal with multiple Roth accounts
opened over many year(ladder conversions for instance) and I look to
confirm my view stated in 2nd sentence with Tax expert next month.
