Well ok...I'll type something about it if no one else will. 55k @3.68! Now thats an investor. (or a really big short!)(lol not really funny though)
spock,
IESV has been on the Reg. sho list for the last couple of days. Just fyi. Maybe some news would get new investment and force them to cover the shorts?
Me either...see post #2510
However, I know there are daytraders and swing traders here and using part of their holdings for profits shorter term and the other part for long term. It just didn't make sense to me to sell the first couple of days until everything shakes out for either short timers or longs. My support level was blown through so in theory I should have sold but knowing the amex like I do ,fashionman I know has posted about this, I felt this was a "shake". Some (lowtrade) feel this is the market determining the market here on the amex which is likely the case also.
Could someone a little more knowledgable and with more experience reading filings give me the low down on this one please? Sorry for the length but that was the link. It is called a 424B3. The stock is APNS and current sp is in the .36 to .42 range. thanks in advance for any opinions and info.

Vaz,
could you put a link to that filing or tell me where you got it? I cannot find it. Thanks
Sorry Mike and Vaz,
Accidentally switched APNS in my head with different(stem cell play) stock I am following. Added more on the pullback today. Would have liked to see the support hold but it still closed fairly close to it. MM manipulation but I am used to that. Now we will see if the old support holds. Did get news today as you expected.
Applied NeuroSolutions Biomarker May Predict Alzheimer's Disease Progression
Wednesday May 25, 9:15 am ET
VERNON HILLS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 25, 2005--A biomarker pioneered by Applied NeuroSolutions (OTCBB:APNS - News; www.appliedneurosolutions.com) and exclusively utilized in its Alzheimer's diagnostic assay, shows great promise in predicting brain atrophy in patients with Alzheimer's disease, according to a group of researchers in the US, Canada, and Europe led by Dr. Harald Hampel and published this month in the Archives of Neurology.
According to Dr. John DeBernardis, President and CEO of Applied NeuroSolutions and a co-author of the study, "Finding a biomarker that effectively predicts who will get Alzheimer's disease has been considered the Holy Grail of Alzheimer's research for many years. We now believe that variations in the levels of p-tau 231 (tau protein phosphorylated on amino acid 231) may be used to effectively predict structural progression of Alzheimer's disease."
Harald Hampel, M.D., of the Alzheimer Memorial Center and Geriatric Psychiatric Branch of the Department of Psychiatry at Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, Germany was the lead investigator of the study. The data in the study agree with the notion that variations in p-tau 231 levels reflect differences in the degree of neuronal damage across AD patients, thus, p-tau 231 levels may be used to predict progression of brain atrophy in AD patients.
In the study of 22 Alzheimer's disease patients, all underwent Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to image the brain and had CSF samples taken. Levels of p-tau 231 predicted the rate of subsequent hippocampal atrophy as measured by MRI. In contrast, levels of total tau, another biomarker also used in the study, did not. In the end, higher p-tau 231 levels were found to correspond with higher rates of neuronal degeneration of the hippocampus.
In numerous other studies, the p-tau 231 assay developed by Applied NeuroSolutions has been shown to discriminate Alzheimer's disease patients from patients with other neurodegenerative disorders. Currently there is no FDA-approved diagnostic test for Alzheimer's disease. The market for an effective, easy to use, AD diagnostic test has been estimated to be approximately $5 billion.
Applied NeuroSolutions, Inc. is developing products to diagnose and treat Alzheimer's disease based on a novel hypothesis of AD cause and pathology. In partnership with Dr. Peter Davies and a scientific team at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Applied NeuroSolutions has developed a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) test to detect Alzheimer's disease at a very early stage with 85%-95% accuracy in more than 3,000 patient samples. The company is also developing a blood serum-based screening test, as well as a new class of therapeutics to treat AD. Alzheimer's disease currently afflicts over 4 million Americans, and the market for AD therapy is expected to grow to 21 million patients by 2010 in the seven major pharmaceutical markets (USA, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, U.K. and Japan) according to BioPortfolio, Ltd.
This press release contains forward-looking statements. Applied NeuroSolutions wishes to caution the readers of this press release that actual results may differ from those discussed in the forward-looking statements and may be adversely affected by, among other things, the risks associated with new product development and commercialization, clinical trials, intellectual property, regulatory approvals, potential competitive offerings, and access to capital. z,
This was an amendment to the previous. They just got more investment from one of the investors of the original placement I believe.
From the 8k:
On May 9, 2005, the company entered into a private placement with a number of accredited investors whereby these investors have purchased $2,357,959.96 in Globetel's Common Shares at a price of $0.1924 per share, with Warrants to purchase up to an additional 8,578,856 shares of common stock of the Registrant at an exercise price of $.3395 per share.
On May 23, 2005, the Company accepted an additional subscription from one of the initial investors increasing their investment by $250,000 on the same terms and conditions as all the other investors.
Not to be contrary low but I don't see it just for the 70k. I am interested in your oberservations about our new mm's as you have quite an eye for what they are up to! What do you think about possible mm accumulation? They have to build an inventory correct? drive the price down and pick up shares? Maybe do a little naked shorting on the way to those of us who bought?
WOW! I don't understand the reasoning behind those selling today. WHY? What long would sell now? What swing trader would sell now? Is this just dumping those that picked up just before and just after the exchange move? At what price can stocks not be shorted by traders? Is that some of the down move? I keep adding more as it drops!!!! Not a prediction but I wouldnt be surprised to see this come back tomorrow.
BAJA,
LPLHA up today! Do you see resistence at .20?
Yes I agree. I have seen another stock I follow go up big one day then down huge the next only to OPEN back at the close of the first day! Look at it this way---They actually weed out the day traders. The genuine longs will be fine. Even swing traders will be ok if you stick to your plan. my opinion only.
Wow blew through my support. I think anything at these levels is a buy! Going to buy more now....
I just rounded off with 2334 but it only showed as 2300 on lvl 2. Looking at 3.65ish support on combined chart. Opinions?
Very strong break of .40 today. I got in. The great thing about this company (stock) is that it can go up with positive news in stem cell area and also if it there is bad news in embryonic research it would be a "safer" play if it doesn't get lumped in with the rest.
agree! He does not recommend "speculative" stocks. Have heard him rec siri but thats about as spec as he normally gets. "best of breed" is his deal. Like it or not we are still speculative. I would rather get some consistent profits with core business under the belt and some contracts/big name partnerships signed for some strats after successful testing. Then maybe we call him up.
what happened to this stock today? I don't understand the big drop. I know there was a r/s but didn't that already occur?
gnet on the ask now @.255. could be a momentum break.
vip,
I feel your pain. Not to rub salt in the wound but nice pic! Un - believable! geez I guess every day/swing trader is in on this one now.
dang calculator~~obviously need more caffeine! thx for the correction!
agreed. They haven't released an official statement on their website yet either where all the new listings show up. Would love to see us in the top 5 list in volume (or even better % gainers!) every day!
Which streamer are you using? I am using the power etrade pro. You using the market caster or power etrade market trader or power etrade pro?
Bid 3.70
Ask 3.74
last 200 @ 3.70 10:25
vol 190,500
x15 would be almost 30 million b4 split
I have etrade also wolf and no probs so far????
Looks like an Amex shake to me! Get those quick profit takers stop limits taken out then back up!
There is alot of resistence at .40. Esp. GNET. I am playing a wait and see with this one. I will buy if it pulls back down a bit. Or a strong break of .40. I guess I should have got in at the last pull back (.25) like I said I was gonna. I saw a triple top there at the .32 area and thought we would get more of a pullback so I waited.
I believe some of the recent investment may be due to the exposure stem cell has gotten with the recent news. Thoughts on that?
Juststocks,
Yes thank you.
APNS, IESV.
design,
Have a drink on me and let's toast to GTE!
Low,
Is that your big order GNET is sitting on down at .22?
Yeah but the mm's are at the cash register of that store!!!! He would probably get the wrong amount of change back!!!!
That was just "wolfbait"!!
Oh, it was only for stocks over 1.00
Thats not bad. Here is the top 5 so far today on Amex:
Bema Gold Corp BGO 1.72 1,143,100
Nabors Industries Ltd NBR 52.35 1,098,800
Telephone And Data Systems, Inc TDS 40.32 664,000
Wellsford Real Properties, Inc WRP 17.04 640,800
Grey Wolf, Inc GW 5.98 584,900
Oh well.

Iteris, Inc. Rings the Opening Bell
The members and employees of the American Stock Exchange welcome Iteris, Inc. (ITI) as they ring the Opening Bell to celebrate their listing.
Hmmm...no volume. Looks like the best way to screw the mm's on our way out is to not even trade. Render them meaningless and they fade to nothing as we move to amex.
I trade GTEL both short, swing and long. So, I have shares that are in Roth I don't touch unless I see a big spike and anticipate a pullback (wish I saw the last one coming). I try to swing in and out with the other half of my total position. Just like others, I have a fear that price will drop (like a brick) after the move. But it is only that. Fear of the unknown.
As a long holder I ease that fear by remembering the potential of the company(not just the strat project), the exposure coming, the profitability around the corner etc...
As a swing looking for quicker profit, I am keeping one foot on each side. I have half of the total shares I will play with already in my brokerage acct. that I will sell if it drops a certain % just like normal. I have powder ready to buy the other half in case (I'm sure it will be too tempting not to) I see a buy opp.
So....I'm in halfway already if it runs and can get in the rest and I am ready to sell also. What types of TA behaviors are common initially when a company moves to a new exchange? I don't know. The r/s I think will come in to play also. I am hoping that increase demand plus less supply equals higher price! Good luck to you.
cpmac,
Apparently, you CAN BUY new shares under the new symbol online. However, if you wish to sell existing shares you already own on Monday when the stock is traded on the amex you MAY (probably will) have to call.
I was told if it shows the new symbol under my positions screen or when I click on it to trade (power etrade pro)existing shares and it "allows" a trade screen to come up then it recognizes the "old" shares as the new symbol. Otherwise I would call if I wished to sell.
Something about receiving something from the company concerning number of shares is what the hold up would be. Was told if not monday then probably on Tuesday everything updated and normal. Keep in mind, this is from customer service at etrade so....????
vip,
not intruding(but I guess I am!), the r/s, according to the latest pr, is happening on monday when the stock begins trading on the amex under the new symbol. The last day on the otc is friday.
Lap,
How are you getting the 7.2 mill. number?
thanks
cpmac,
Could you please explain in more detail? I use Etrade also and do not understand. Why would there be a problem? If the symbol is valid you should be able to trade it? Is this just for the first day of trading? I guess I should call also.
Rocky, my apologies if this post is one for the TA board.
Not really a cheerleader and this is not the most informative (nor really TA related) post but can't hold it in~~I sincerely believe, just as most here do, that this company (the potential and the share price) is onward and upwards!!!! I can't wait till we get to the amex and get a feel for the TA there. I think we can all agree that although there can be some sort of manipulation and shorting on the amex it won't be to the extent that it occurs on the otc. I will be giving the mm's the "universal sign for #1" from the amex! I know this puppy is about to pop. In fact I will be buying more either later today or tomorrow (in case of walkdown early a.m.) not because it is the right time to buy but because I think we deserve the proper send off!
Ken,
Just fyi, sent you an email.
