To answer a simple question! Nothing sinister to it. I have held the stock for a long time, and started checking this board as the price action started to pick up, in hopes of getting some new insight.
First purchased in 2003 at .038. It went down so fast it wasn't worth selling to take the loss. Thought there were viable prospects so held on, averaged down in 2004, 2007, 2013 (at .0018) and have added more recently at about .005. I will probably sell some before it gets back over 3 cents, but I do think it has room to move well over a penny from here with the new business. The first 10-K reflecting the new business will be very important, and I will try to evaluate further from there. Their car rental business seems to have decent customer review.
What's even more amazing is that the ask has stayed at $3.75 to 3.80 for hours, with my screen showing only 100 offered. I have tried to buy 32 shares to round out a position and have bid 3.27, 3.36, and 3.42 so far with no success.
I am wondering if both investors and market makers are holding out in expectation that something will (or maybe won't!) be announced at end of RAPID and are afraid to take any big risks one way or the other. Just a theory!
Still hoping for the big announcement that will push the price up, but getting accustomed to the wait.
RAPID would be a nice time for some sort of positive announcement! I see that Materialise announced today, at RAPID, an agreement with HP.

Windbag, thanks for your note, and for calling in. Am interested to know the level of confidence he expressed regarding near-term contracts and revenue. Like others, i hope we can get a transcript so you and others don't need to try to share from memory.
Haven't heard yet if anyone got in on the conference call. What gives? Apparently not too busy buying SGLB stock to report back to the board!
Price just jumped to $4.40 on low volume. Somebody believes. Stay tuned!
Materialise stock price is up around 30% since shortly before earnings release, so someone thinks they are on the right track. If we are working as closely with them as suggested, their success should rub off on SGLB. I am as frustrated as anyone with the SGLB stock price right now, but still optimistic and eager to see the report on the 16th, as well as eager to hear the response to questions, guarded though the responses may be.
It would make sense to re-brand Deform as Contour. Insiders might know what "deform" signifies, but at first sight it has a somewhat negative connotation.
What relationship, if any, between printrite3d and 3dSIM that is given credit for the new super-accurate process. I'm sure it has been mentioned here,l but I don't read this board every day. Certainly lots of news coming every day recently about advances in this field of AM, and especially re aerospace.
100% revenue increase this quarter should not be difficult this quarter or next, with any service business at all. Should leave VJET in the dust, on a percentage basis! I will be happy if the percentage gain in business is reflected in percentage gain in stock price. A 200% gain will have me in the black--didn't sell enough 20 months ago to be able to load up recently at low prices.
This is all I can find--just entered the acronym and terms in Google search
lanl Dot gov/orgs/x/x4/slim_II
I hope you can figure out how to redo and enter that link.
It announces a 2005 seminar organized by some of the SGLB people. An indication in another Google hit suggests that the term was coined and conversations begun about 2 years before that. I can't tell the extent to which this represents an ongoing professional or trade group, or whether it is a trademarked term for SGLB (and others?) services that has not been used much up til now.
eager to know more about all this!! Have bigger investment in SGLB than I should in a high-risk stock, but I have liked the prospects and still hope to see them succeed.
Please note that below the listing of EWI and two other outfits as lead collaborators is a note of 23 othr collaborators with an asterisk leading to the bottom of the page with a a list of the others, including one of our friends as pasted below:
*Georgia Tech, University of North Carolina-Charlotte, Stratonics, B6Sigma, Paramount Industries, General Electric (Aviation and Inspection Technologies), North Carolina State University, Lockheed Martin, Pratt & Whitney, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Texas El Paso, Penn State University, Northrup Grumman, Boeing, Stryker, Harvest Technologies, Solid Concepts, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Imaginistics, M7 Technologies, Ingersoll Machine Tools
Two factors dragging this AM. One brokerage house initiated coverage on VJET at "neutral" with target of 44, and a SA article by one claims to have called the bottom in 3d sticks and recommended buying some months ago, this morning recommends taking profits after yesterday's run up. All in all, things are holding up ok.

You asked about comparisons with other IPO that started off strong like this. Remember Google? I didn't buy any because the price moved up so quickly on the first day, and I kept waiting for it to come down . . . Hit 1000 today--don't remember the initial price but perhaps about $25? Not saying VJET will do anything like this, but a first day surge like this often continues for at least a few more days. On the other hand, it is not unusual for the price to drift back down within a few months to around the initial offer price before climbing again. Think Facebook, Zillow, and some others. I bought some today at 23.50 and sold 30% of it at 28.85, keeping the rest in hopes of further gains, but would sell at least that much more if it gets much past 40. I would be happy to buy back again in high teens or low 20s but not making any predictions--just observations. That's what you asked for.
That note makes me quite confident that Monday is a good day to take profits, even though long term prospects might be good. I would guess that the newsletter accumulated a good number of shares over the past few days of rising share profits. Just my opinion, but based on lots of past experience.

Quote from article referenced in the previous post is pasted below. I know nothimg more. I hope another article soon will reference SGLB
Here's the quote:
NASA owns the injector design but the Austin-based company Directed Manufacturing created the rocket part. NASA says it will make the test and materials data openly available to American companies through its Materials and Processes Information System database.
I'm not ready to dump shares, but 25% dilution with shares sold at 10% of market value seems to indicate either little faith in their prospects, wink wink nod nod trading with close associate supporters, or some combination of both. It looks, at least at first glance, more like the behavior of a penny stock scam company than an up-and-coming high tech consulting and manufacturing company. What may I be missing? I look forward very eagerly to Gary's Q and A. Hope both the Qs and the As are clear!

I wondered, too, about that wording concerning option on other securities. It made me wonder if they were raising money for NNLX but including option to buy into some sort of coming spinoff from the company. But so far almost any wondering or speculation about NNLX has proved not to be correct, so I am just waiting and hoping for more info.
Do you have a clue why a bunch of shares traded at a nickel this morning. Bid back up to 8 cents a few minutes ago, but that ain't good!
Is JST coming back to life after six weeks of doldrums?
(Anchor first put me on to this one a few months ago) Looks like a breakout from 20-24 trading range is trying to happen. Don't want it to get away before I notice what's happening like AMEP did. (Yes, I know some of you pointed out AMEP waking up, but I missed it--I have a life outside of investing . . .)
can you summarize what Motley Fool said? They are always bashing my stocks!!
how do you know they have good news?
good call on BJGP. Anyone have comments on how long and high this run may continue? it pulled back today, on rather low volume--I bought some more, though at the high of the day. I have owned this thing since it was "Just Great Coffee" in the 1990's--went dead, bought out as a shell. I've been slowly adding to my position since $5 or so. I would love to see it act like JST but don't know enough to make predictions.
i don't post offen but have another weird one. TDYT has booshed last three days, but Finance.Yahoo still indicates a PE of about 5, so there could be room for more.
I have accumulated and traded this one for years between .35 and 5.00, adusted for recent R/S that, along with a badly botched acquisition last year, took it down to .50 around December when I didn't have any $s.
I made got too excited and sold some at 3.05 today before it closed at $4. it trades barely 1000 shares per day on average, and usually has huge spread but spread has tightened to as little as .05 a couple of times in past three days. Worth a look--I ain't givin any advice.
Glad to see CPTC waking up today, and BIPH at least not dying. about a year ago I sold some CPTC at $3 and bought same amount of BIPH at same price, hoping BIPH would go up enough to oflip back into CPTC. Wasn't that smart?
Even at 1.01 my spinoff shares of Global Holdings are worth more than my overall loss in XLPI-----but who knows what they will be worth when they become free trading! I haven't been following closely but should do so to see what sort of interest is developing there.
on another topic: What's wrong with EGY today???
Re: Short squeeze. Last time I heard on this board of a brokerage trying hard to borrow a shareholder's shares to short was CPTC just before they files chapt 11! Sometimes the short sellers know more than we give them credit for. Nothing against FRPT, just an observation . . .
thanks for your analysis of RMDX. I will be watching it very closely Monday. I have a sell order in for half my position, at about 20% above the close but will probably sell that piece on any sign of weakness. I see no discussion of the stock either on IHub or RB, so have little idea what is going on beyond the price movement.
everything ethanol or biofuel is HOT right now! The question none of us can answer yet is just how much XLPI can gain from it. Are their products likely to be needed and used by almost everyone who uses E85 and the like---or will they be one of many companies emerging to take advantage? Will their diesenol be a new standard product in which they have a monopoly, or just one of manay that are similar but different enough to avoid patent infringement? I don't think any of us can know for sure. that's why I hold a small position and am eagerly looking for solid news to heop me know how much more to buy. haven't sold any yet!!
RMDX has booshed during past week. Does it have farther to go?
I hold some that was a spinoff from another company that proved worthless, if I remember right. added more some time back when it came back to life. don't have much more info, but I sure like the past week's action, closing at equal to high of year set a few months back. OPINIONS anyone?
I have no idea what the intern meant by the statement, but it is syntactically so close to the other head-scratchers in all the previous PRs that we can at least be sure it was written by the SAME intern! I have never, never, never, been invested in a company with more opaque PRs. I must be crazy to keep holding something when I have absolutely no idea what it is. But i keep holding . . .
I was able to access the financial on Sulja web site, but they still don't add up, at least in any way I have learned in US bookkeeping. Assets should equal liabilities plus shareholder equity. there is a huge gap or some final number missing. Still no real answers. And I don't see any indication whether this is financial for Sulja before merger or combined balance sheet. I think it is just Sulja but it is a real mystery. I am still long but as eager as everyone else for solid news!
Lots of speculation on the "other" board as to what caused today's fiasco, but no solid answers. Certainly no negative PRs--actually the opposite past couple of days. Either something bad is about to come out and a few people know about it--or someone is trying hard to drive the price down in order to get more shares. take your pick.
CPVD, another of my long-time stocks sitting in a drawer too cheap to sell, came alive today on much-increased volume. Any expert chartist opinions on whether this could be the beginning of a boosh, or just a one-day wonder? They have been working for a couple of years on a new software intro, from a German company they acquired. Maybe something is ready to generate income? No PRs today that I can find.
I bought into this in the 1980's, between 5 and 10 cents, on the story that their patents were being infringed by Kodak and about everyone else doing anything with digital photography/editing. Either their patents or their lawyers weren't as good as PTSC's, so they seem to have given up on that and turned elsewhere. I haved traded in and out, making a little bit, but have neither bought nor sold recently, just holding a few thousand shares for old times' sake.
thanks--I cancelled my .78 sell order on CYRO two weeks ago and cancelled .88 sell order this AM. hard to talk myself into buying more when much of what I hold is between .20-.50, though in another account i sold some a few weeks ago at .61 to take tax loss on purchases years ago at $2-3
I'll be watching it carefully--.
CYRO booshing like crazy today. have to look back 5-6 years to see any overhead resistance. any thoughts?
