Live eels, lobsters etc fly next day air. Watch for the location of the SIAF processing plant in Madagascar to be located near the airport.
Jordan Fund post today:
SINO AGRO FOOD Q1 report left [2013-05-15 23:04]
After the close of trading left SIAF report for Q1 2013, which can now be read on Yahoo Finance or other places. Earnings per share (in spite issued new shares) increased Q1 2013 (which is the weakest quarter) with +100% to 16 cents (8) or diluted 14 cents (7). Sales increased by +245% and net profit by +191% - all compared to Q1 2012.
Difficult to find companies with this development. The decision is expected in Q3. New major players among the company profitable products are the highly sought organic fertilizer pellets that are a byproduct of biffkofarmerna
Does anyone have a clue what the line "The decision is expected in Q3." references?
Volume is the key.
To me, it looks like a normal trading volume should be in 100,000 to 150,000 share range. Anytime the volume is over 400,000 should be a tip-off that massive shorting is ongoing or that the reverse (covering) is happening.
About future margins, keep in mind the following points.
1. Fisheries were the primary source of revs from prior quarters. However, they are becoming less of a factor in the future as other revenue centers (beef, fertilizer, import, etc) come on line and grow revenues.
2. Fisheries are also diversifying into new species with better margins.
I think we can forget about sleepy cod for a while. It looks like they have switched production to grass carp.
I just found this message board, but I have been long on the stock for over a year. It is rare to find a company with an entirely new approach to delivering an old product line. This company has all the earmarks of becoming a major supplier of biotech products in a few years.
Charlton Heston's key line in the movie: "Soylent Green is People.". The premise of this movie is that a future govt finds that overpopulation has created massive food shortages. The solution is to euthanize the elderly and convert that protein into a cracker called Soylent Green.
China will always have a need for new food sources unless and until they adopt the "Soylent Green" solution. The price of sleepy cod doesn't bother me at all, they can switch to eels, or any one of a number of alternatives.
A note on the Jordan Fund site indicates that NS will be traveling East on May 1-12. This would include a SIAF BOD meeting to ratify the Q1 results and any other material matters that are coming up, such as the FN listing, maybe.
The Q1 results will be announced within the next three weeks. Based on the last few years, the price will rebound dramatically approximately a week before the expected announcement (probably around May 7-12). This seems like a no-brainer. The conclusion is to BUY, BUY, BUY now.

The reason for the filing of this amendment is contained in the letter from the auditor.
"The Company has restated its statement of cash flows to correct an error related to the reporting of cash flows from the sale of a subsidiary during 2011. The effects of this restatement are explained in note 34 to the consolidated financial statements."
Otherwise, I think this filing contains much more detailed explanations of the business segments along with some new details about operations. One thing I noticed was a sentence that said that the company expects that the engineering and consulting revenue will be steady for at least the next three years.
Holiday in the Socialist/Communist world.
I haven't seen any comments from anyone concerning the developement of the restaurant outlets. I like the concept of creating a mix of large sit down restaruants, fast food and mobile catering trucks (in the US sometimes called "roach coaches"). That gives an opportunity to target underserved markets.
Most likely saving the guidance numbers for the Q1 earnings release. He already has a good idea about the Q1 results, since that quarter is already closed.
Look for the Q-1 10-Q during the third week of May.
Excerpt from the 10-K.
There were 112,028,365 shares of common stock outstanding as of April 9, 2013
I have been in contact with one of the OTC newsletters about SIAF. The response was that Chinese stocks have no following at the present time. However, when I told them of the Swedish shareholders and the FN listing possibility, they got interested and will keep an eye on the situation. IMO, they could be a buyer now so they could frontrun a recommendation.
April 2 was the date of the last filing for the extension. This notice today is about last weeks news.
That plantation operation is worth about $15 mil as a complete deal and about $4.5 mil as a 25% spin off.
There are 77 messages posted today. If approximately 200 people read each message, that equals 15,400 views.
From the company web site.

How many shares does the Company currently have outstanding?
As of December 10, 2012, there were 98,054,850 shares of our common stock issued and outstanding.
Prokopton. The volume is down because the programmed trading has been turned off pending developements. They don't want to sell now so that they can sell into any possible rally.
Mgt now has all the numbers, what they are waiting for is the completion of the audits.
Does anyone know if this is just an online/email promo or if this is a mass (snail) mailing of those eight page flyers?

Look in the right column under the heading "Top 20 most heavily promoted stocks in April" and click on the SIAF link.
IMO, Jericho has the correct interpretation of this filing. The target market for these shares, when and if they are sold, is the larger Swedish institutional investors. It is better for them to pay a premium, than to accumulate a large position piecemeal.
Also, I don't expect any shares to be sold under this offer until after the FN listing. Everything should become clear in the next few weeks, after the next earnings announcement.
For those keeping score, it is easy to tell the level of concern among the paid posters that their gravy train is about to be upset.
My take is that the consulting fees can't be predicted because they can't tell when new contracts for JV's will be signed. The product revenues however are easier to predict. In the future, the consulting revenues will become a boost to the total rather than the driver of the growth.
"The Company expects fairly sustainable growth in the trading and sales of imports, exports and value added products as the business operations become more seasoned in 2013, targeting to increase this segment's revenue up to 15%-20% of the total consolidated revenue in 2013, up from 1% in 2012."
Can anyone put a number on the 15%-20% range? This looks like growth on a really fast pace.
I attended a spring flower show this morning at which I saw some mature Hylocereus Undatus (dragon fruit). IMO, this crop has several positive factors that need to be considered before the cry of "sell those plantations" grabs hold.
1. These fruits are huge. They look like grapefruit sized rose buds. It would take about 18 to fill a bushel sized basket.
2. They have a rising price curve and a steady market.
We are in a classic "What comes first, the chicken or the egg?" situation.
The chicken is the share price. The egg is the FN listing. The question becomes how relevent a higher share price is to the FN listing. Was the recent PR about the companies projects aimed at raising the share price?
"Grazing restrictions because of land degradation are also causing costs to rise across the country."
SIAF benefits from higher retail and wholesale prices, but the quote listed above indicates that the feed business could also see rapid growth.
The programmed trading invovles liquidity. It can only happen with many MM's trading at the same time, in both directions. What it boils down to is that one MM's computer is betting in one direction, and another MM's computer is making the opposite bet. Whichever one guesses right gets the profit.
Take away the programmed machine trading and this is the activity you end up with.
The other day I said to ignore comments from the likes of sps.
What I meant was don't respond to his messages. If you don't respond, he has no platform, and no audience for his performance.
The machines are winning today.
If you ever want to know the full name of the company doing the bid/ask, you can look it up at this site:

For instance, ARCA is the symbol for Archipelago Trading Services, Inc
Change of sentiment with very high volume.
There is only one drawback to these message boards. The good guys can't tell the difference between other good guys and the bad guys. My advice is ignore anyone who is consistently negative. The bad guys work these message boards whenever the price is moving down, then disappear whenever there is a big rally.
The next few weeks are the last we will have to endure the programmed trading of the MM's. After the FN listing, the price will be determined first each day by European trading due to the time difference. If the US MM's want to move the price down, they will have to fight for supremacy. It won't be business like we have seen for the past few years.
My thought is that the stock price should react to the rise in commodity food prices in China. If the company is making more revenue, it only stands to reason that it is now worth more.
There was also an artilce today about 2800 pigs found floating in a river in Shanghai. No news about flooding, so this might be a case of some new disease outbreak. It the pork industry in China is threatened, price inflation in the other meat products won't be far behind. SIAF is perfectly positioned for very rapid growth.
