dear remote, since you're adressing skeptics, and i'm oh well a big skeptic, i thought i'd write back. you write: "You may not like Steven's historical record of guidance, but he would not risk his credibility in front of the respected Needham venture capital crowd with misleading statements".
please. i'm not into writing long posts. let me just say the ford contract is great, but it's just one contract. it could be followed by a few others this year, or not.
tpm adaption is slow. imo, ford contrcat will not speed up things at all. profitable quater? i will beleive it when i see it. sks words mean nothing to me.
there are certainly no negatives at the moment. there were always negatives - PPs looming, delisting looming, company losing money...
i believe that mobel space is where tpm adaptation will finally take place. apple and others can make a fortune by introducing a new genartion of "secure" cell phones. hopefully, wave will be a part of it. during next 6 months, i would be watching for an anouncement of alliance between wave and apple or motorola or samsung. forget dod and the rest of goverment agencies (for at least the next 2 years anyway). i'm also done waiting for some major corporation to suddenly announce adopting tpms.
my guess it's short covering. year-end. write-off.
Bid: 1.34 Ask: 1.39 EOM
howard, your predictions are usually right on, but this is just wishful thinking on your part imo. good luck.
dory, "assuming Wave actually reports earnings" ? why would anybody assume that? give me one good reason. imo you can sure allow yourself some hope, but i don't think anybody expects sks to finnally deliver on one of his promises. at least nobody is betting any money on it. therefore, this little volume with sp sliding.
it's another pp. it's taking place as we speak imo. any time a bs pp like today's comes out its only purpose is to allow pp shares to get dumped. anyboy who has followed this stock for more than 6 months sure know what i'm taking about. lol
Snackman, it's hard to relax nad write things off just because the goverment is slow, simply because they're the only hope for TPMs imo. there are what? 40-50 million TPMs outthere by now. DELL and others have been shipping and pushing them down corporate throats for years now and what is the result I may ask you? Practically zero. Nobody wants to activate TPMs for one reason or another. So Goverment in general, and DOD in particular is pretty much the only hope for Wave. Hiring Inman was the right move, but he has delivered nothing so far, and as I posted a couple of weeks ago (my post misteriosly disappeared), imo he looks more and more like last year's Olympics. Gave us a nice PR and a little bump in sp but is pretty much just a waste of money.
yes, must be broken. I'll give it a benefit of the doubt and wait for quaterly results. Let's see if SKS finally keeps one of his promises and Wave is b/e this quater. I'm not holding my breath though. If I had to bet on it, I would predict no b/e and a bunch of excuses instead like Dell ran out of Dells, or Segate ran out of hard drives, or MSFT is stalling the whole thing, you pick one. If Wave is in fact b/e, it won't impress me or the street much but at least people will take notice that for once SKS promised something and delivered on his promise.
i'm surprised the sp is holding up. it was a very disappointing cc. dod thing is a dud. more pps to follow. just great...
howard, i think you will have plenty of opportunities to buy at and well under .85 during coming months. todays PP is a clear indication that there will be no kaboom news any time soon. Wave management did indicate that recently (if one actually cares to pay attention to what they say rather than reading rahrah posts on message boards), but they left a small window for a possible DOD contract. This PP effectively shuts that window down imo.
what's left to watch for the next few months is this boaring fight for b/e. and even if they do become b/e by year end, who cares?
mig, all i can say is congrats to pp guys! they did it again. unloaded god knows how many pp related shares for over a buck. as a few people like to say on this board - it's coming! "it" being another pp of course :) great job guys!
florida, on Jan 22 Wave was awarded a $748,640 contract by DOD. Under the contract, Wave was to provide consulting services in connection with a study to evaluate the implementation of trusted computing solutions for the government. The term of the project was expected to be six months. Wave had did a similar consulting contract a couple of years ago and nothing came out of it. The excuse was that the government was not ready. Wave can not possible use the same excuse now when the government is being so loud about cyber-security, etc. So let's see if Wave can finally deliver. IMO there's a lot at stake. They deliver - you're looking at $3 sp at least, maybe $5. Nothing happens - 50 cents if not 30 cents sp... We'll find out soon enough. Hiring Inman as an adviser to the board of directors is a good sign. Wave sure seems to be at the right place at the right time to finally hit it out of the park after so many years of nothing but ground-outs, fly-outs and some very embarrassing double plays.
player, imo you're absolutely correct. the only people buying and trading this stock are wavoids. the street stopped paying any attention to Wave a long time ago. They will again when there is actual news with tens of millions of dollars attached. The usual pre-PP speach by Steven won't do.
i have not seen any PRs about these. but thanks. hopefully you're right. are we talking pilots or actual TPM networks being activated at these companies?
yes, but I'm refering to tpm activation.
john, i don't know about you but i'm done watching the numbers. wake me up when one of those huge contracts does pop up for Wave. imo even if they reach b/e this summer, it will do nothing to sp. they need contracts. hopefully, the dod thing will result in something material, not like a couple of years ago when they did some TPM consulting for army with nothing to show for at the end.
you're joking, right? ok. please name one. not 5, not 10. just one.
how many times were we told that it's not up to Wave to abnnounce contracts, that surely there are things going on behind the scenes, but if a client does not want a PR, there is no PR, and it's against the security, blah-blah-blah? well.. apparantly, GuardianEdge did not have the same problem. why? maybe because it actually did sign a nice contract with actuall $$$s attached to it? my point is PapaGino happened a loooong time ago. all these years and not a single new client using Wave software... word "pathetic" does not even begin to describe the performence of Wave's management and sales team.
i heard that a few months ago wave practically sold tvtonic. the stumbling block? Mr Michael Sprague's role with new company. when i heard that it did not really surprised me. it's sure painful for us, shareholders. but you gotta give Sprague boys a lot of credit. nobody can question their family values. Madoff boys threw their Dad under the bus as soon as they found out what kind of business he's been running. shame on them!
vader, my gut feeling - they sold tvtonic and won't need financing, and this will be announced within the next couple of weeks.
wow! 15 cents pre-split
I'd like to congratulate all fellow waivoids with this great buying opportunity! see ya all in Las Vegas, or as a friend of mine calls it Lost Wages
hnstabe, you're absolutely correct. of course, you're going to be rebuked by posters who are desperately trying to find anything positive about the situation so they can take part in a few more PPs and make some more money.
Hi escrow56, there are at least 50 (probably more by now) clients building their TPM networks using Wave software with Wave actually getting paid. Instead of PRing those contracts (which would be great for sp), the management chose to PR some idiotic money wasting projects like this Olympic thing. LOL. I don't know what else to say. Hope you agree. I'm just shaking my head here...
Snackman, the planet has nothing to do with it. it's a US service. in this country, when you're sitting on a train during your morning commute, you'll be watching MLB highlights, not some running or swimming. if wave announce the same type of a deal with MLB or NBA or NFL, I would get excited myself, but the Olimpics... I'm sorry.
hi snackman, the poster's argument is very weak. Wave does not have to show the big boys that they can hang with them. Wave has been hanging with them for a long long time.
Wave has to make money. To me this Olimpic endevor sounds like a total loser. Waste ot time and money. Olimpics are not popular in the US at all, especially among morning commuters in Metropolitan areas who are being targeted by this service.
Joe, I could not have said it better. Yes, absolutely.
just like i expected this recent sp bump was nothing more than pump and dump orchestrated by pp guys. i gotta give them a lot of credit. they sure know how to play the game. see you well under a buck a week from now. have yopurselves a wekkend, good or not. kisamura
yes, the sp is holding up so far, but we all know what's going to happen when days go by w/o any serious news, and then days become weeks, and weeks become months... i just hope this latest bump in the sp was not simply another pump and dump orchestrated by pp guys. that would really suck.
you're not seriously hoping SKS can be replaced, are you? i mean you know WAVE is a family business, don't you? I'm not arguing that SKS is a complete and total failer as a CEO. he is. but that's who you got, who you're stuck with. lol.
sp is tanking because
nobody's really activating the sofware.
the product is good, but the questions potential clients are asking are how's tech support is going to work? what is the financial state of wave (will the company still exist a year from now)? who's been using the product so far and what they think of it? (references)
Of course all of these are pretty much retorical questions. We all know the outcome of wave's sales pitches and demos so far.
good post. agreed 100%. they also need to hire a good PR firm. would definitely pay off. great technology, poor execution. sure, Q1 will be better than Q4, but judjing how sks reacted to 4M sugestion, it won't be even close to that. my guesss - it will be around 2.5M
u just figured that out? lol. here's a rethorical question. why did not sks explain TODAY this pathetic little pipe? there were several ways he could do that. why does everybody have to wait till next cc to find out what's going on?
how come there have been absolutely no "progress reports" in any shape or form between CCs for a couple of years now?
I'm one of very few people on this board who was very pessmistic about upgrades. I kept saying we won't see any meaningful upgrades until Vista comes out, but even I did not expect no serious upgrades revenue at the anniversary of Vista.
TPM adaptation has been slower than even skeptics like me expected.
I'm getting more optimistic the last few weeks though. I like seeing the Dell ad compain, and this mornings announcement, I think, is very important and highly positive.
I suspect that I'm not the only one feeling better about WAVX prospects. The sentiment is changing, slowly, but it's changing (i'm not talking about the mood on this board of course - it's been overly optimistic, to say the least, for years) and as a result the sp finally broke its negative pattern and is now slowly inching up.
well said. eom
the next 2 quaters will be nothing more but a pathetic attempt to keep the sp above $1 unless we hear some strong forcast/guidence today. the number for the past quater does not really matter imo.
unfortunately the last cc showed that wavx is still at least a couple of quaters away from significant revenues which is the best case scenario. the worst and in my opinion most likely scenario is that bulding serious tpm networks (by government, banks, etc.) is still a year or two away.
there is always a light at the end of this tunnel, but the distance to this light has always been very misleading. the next 6 months are going to be pretty ugly, imo, with sp fighting to stay above $1 again.
i have not followed wavx for months. so Vista came out half a year ago, and there are no tpm activations so far. wow... I guess nobody is in any rush. does anybody have any idea whether at least there are any serious trials going on?
i'm assuming they have a big announcment or two, hopefully orders with $ figures attached, to keep the sp from sinking like titanic. those announcement better come tomorrow morning. lol
