SS definitely said in the CC at least 45-50 mil for 2012.
There were questions about the head count.
SS pretty much said the sales and revenues would support the head count, which would continue to grow.
I think the market tomorrow will like today's report. If some general recovery takes place after today's trouncing, it could be a very good day for WAVX. The closing of the UK deal should be announced over the next few weeks. I saw nothing to support Jermart's shorts!
More on CC:
OEM business due to expand soon.
Mobile space, tablets to precede phones.
Focus on communication security.
Investments taking place into end point device security
Q&A
UK business soon to close is over $1 million
Q4 sales pipeline very strong
Expect strong November and December.
System integrators: a number of active projects happening.
Mid-2012 to show mobile capabilities for Wave products.
Revenue growth to be driven by enterprise sales, very bullish on 2012.
2012 sales to reach $45-50 Mil.
2013 growth will be propelled by mobile space.
Wave to benefit from MS Windows 8.
Joint work with Micron
Government standardization of trusted computing and secure drives happening in first half 2012.
European progress, good in UK, EU team growing. Aerospace, Oil & Gas are first to recognize trusted computing. Pilots being replaced by thousand seat deployments. 8ks come with transactions that are over $1 mil.
Progress is exciting.
Tens of thousands of new seats currently related to Safend customer base.
Enterprise business, UK large order, in next few weeks.
Pipeline growing, $25 million worth in potential customers added
$.5 million order booked last week on new boot product.
You're right. Just wanted to show the EPS in response to Jermart's prediction of a 6 cent loss.
Wave recorded a Q3 '11 net loss of $1.8 million, or $0.02 per basic and diluted share. Q2 '11 also resulted in a net loss of $1.8 million, or $0.02 per basic and diluted share.
I keep level 2 on during the trading day and glance at it for a general idea of direction and strength. The bid and ask often changes with mid boggling rapidity. There is currently a 37k bid holding a floor at 2.50.
Mid day prices usually mark lows and good buy points. End of day highs on strong days mark good points for trading.
I think its a good tool to be used with a lot of care.
Would you like to contribute?
Is anybody here interested in collaborating on a book that details the Harcourt story. This could be filled with a lot of facts and figures plus personal vignettes. I know many here have kept some pretty good records. This could easily be published online at almost no cost.
The lessons we have learned here should be more widely decimated. One idea would be for major players here to take over the HRCT corporate name, name a board of directors, and embark on creating and selling the book as its first project. Phoenix is not just a city in Arizona!
I submit myself to participate on a 5-7 member organizing committee. This committee should be formed by the end of November 2011. There is collaborative software that could be used for details. Ongoing decisions would appear here. We need to know how much it would cost to take control of the HRCT name. To my understanding the HRCT corporate entity is US based. The cost here should not be that great.
I think many committed WAVX shareholders have long believed in the value and future of hardware-based computer security and Wave’s role in “this space” as it has expanded to include all mobile telecom devices as well as all new smart machinery, e.g. cars, appliances, robots etc.
At the same time there has always lurked doubt and fear that perhaps some new technology might quickly jump forward and take a “fumbled ball” to some new level leaving us all aghast and severely wounded.
As this technology plays out it is becoming ever more clear that hardware-based security is the new paradigm and that Wave Systems, despite a lot of competition, is a major player. The many attentive eyes and ears here have not yet even sniffed of alternative technology. Q3 results and SS’s comments this Wednesday should be very, very interesting.
I still have 15 shares.
Buy, sell or hold?
I think your concerns are very real. I also wonder on the legality of the whole process.
A no news Tuesday will put downward pressure on WAVX SP, but this could be counterbalanced by the general market, which may recover a bit after today's big losses. Jermart's reappearance is a definite plus. Am looking to add on typical mid-day weakness.
Merlot was my favorite years ago when I began to recognize quality wines, but it quickly faded as I discovered Cabernets. Warm weather made cold whites very pleasant and soon Sauvignon Blancs took over as my favorite.
Had a nice New Zealand Ferngreen Sauvignon Blanc this evening, $5.99 at Trader Joes.
Still on the low budget wine circuit.
OT:
On the interpretation of dreams.
Early Thursday morning, about 3AM, I sat with 2 friends at a picnic table in dreamland. Off in the distance a wild bull snorted sending a shower of wetness over us all. The bull then began charging in our direction. In an effort to distract it and save my friends I began to race toward a lone tree some 50 yards off to the side. The bull charged at me and just as I was about to reach the tree it lowered its horns and woke me from my sleep. I have never had such a dream before and took it to mean a good day on Wall Street and Waveland. I expected a bit of a pull back Friday. The flat close looks real good going into next week.
Are you denying that old saying "And in the third year it will rise!"
OOIL share price at these levels appear attractive. If you bought at 6 do you continue to buy at 2.20?
No! Don't say that. I still have 100K HRCT shares.
Can I get a certificate for posterity?
So let us know how the Merlot goes down.
Buying online by the case is still outside my budget this month. I did enjoy a 2009 Castle Rock Cabernet from Paso Robles this evening. Over the years I have found great taste and consistency in both red and white wines from this California region, midway between SF and LA.
Pretty typical for a no news, low volume, down market Tuesday. Good opportunity to add shares.
OT Re: Pony Express:
The Pony Express only ran for some 18 months:
1860 Apr 3, The US Pony Express mail system began when one horse and rider carrying a bulging mail pouch began the 10 1/2-day run from San Francisco, Calif., to St. Joseph, Mo. Riders left St. Joseph, Missouri and Sacramento, Ca., at the same time. They averaged 12 mph over 75-100 mile segments between 153 (190) change stations. The freight company of Rus-sell, Majors and Waddell began the service. The enterprise failed after only 18 months, how-ever, due to mounting financial losses and competition from the ever-expanding telegraph net-work. Donald C. Biggs (d.2000 at 72), prof. of history at SF State, later authored "The Pony Express: Creation of the Legend."

Wave is becoming a very exciting teenager!!
Good article. Thanks
I had 18 contracts. Managed to buy 1000 shares a day or so earlier as prices fell at 2.43. Sold 1200 shares today at 2.55 and exercised 12 contracts at 2.50. Sold 600 of those near the close at 2.57 and exercised the the balance of 6 calls. Not very high finance, and a real term loss on the options, most of which were purchased last year at just over 1.00. But it made me feel good to add shares overall.
I have never minded short term losses for long term gains.
If WAVX shares close today at e.g. 2.60, the 2.50 calls will have a value of 10 cents and can be sold for that, one call is for 100 shares, or exercised for 100 shares at a 2.50 price. Most of the 2.50 calls were purchased some time ago at much more than 10 cents and this would represent a loss to holders of the calls. However I suspect many may choose to exercise their calls to get and hold shares which show much promise of rising value in the near term.
2011 Oct 20, Libya’s National Transition Council said that its fighters found and shot dictator Moammar Gadhafi (69) in Sirte, which finally fell to the rebels today after weeks of tough fight-ing. Gadhafi was cornered by insurgents in the town of Sirte, where he had been born and a stronghold of his supporters.
(AP, 10/20/11)
A 2nd California earthquake today hit at about 8:20, not large but just 5 or so hours after an earlier one.
Eyewitness
This has to be good for Wave:
Seagate Technology today reported financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2011. The company shipped 51 million disk drives and reported revenue of $2.8 billion, gross margin of 19.5%, net income of $140 million and diluted earnings per share of $0.32.
Yes!

Thanks
Thanks.
That part I understand. I was wondering how the market booked the transaction if the call was exercised at a 2.60 market value.
Thanks for the clarification.
Perhaps you can answer this:
If I exercise a 2.50 call option a 2.60, does the transaction get booked at 2.50 or 2.60 or half and half?
Yes, the WAVX Oct 2.50 options expire at the close of market on Friday, Oct 21.
OT
British spelling (and America spelling) on the same language drives me bananas.
Imagine a Brit Zorro using his rapier to slash an “S” for Sorro.
Yes! This has been noted a number of times in the past. The current low WAVX share value allows for significant manipulation.
If MMs manage to hold share value in the 2.50 range, I will take my loss on my options and buy as much as I can at the artificially depressed price.
I will also enter a note into my special "learn from experience" book to stay away from options in low priced stocks and to take advantage of option season depressed share values.
Good Thursday or Friday news would sure set this rocket on fire.
Finally, an explanation that I can understand! :)
This has to be good for Wave:
Intel’s third-quarter earnings swept past Wall’s Street’s forecast, and its sales hit a new high once again… the United States, remained steady for chips going into products destined for offices and data centers as American corporations continued to update their systems.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/19/technology/intels-third-quarter-sales-are-up.html?_r=1
This would be significant if WAVE is involved:
"The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has selected Dell from numerous competitive bids to provide client PC technology and services for more than 1,200 sites nationwide. The four-year, $476 million contract will provide the VA with approximately 600,000 PCs and monitors."
Thanks for your perspective.
I am still a bit in the dark on how a 2.50 close on Friday benefits the MMs.
I agree that the SP will resume moving up next week.
If the WAVX Oct 2.50 options expire worthless, those who bought the call options lose and those who sold the call options win. I see no advantage to MMs to push SP to 2.50 unless they sold the 2.50 calls. Can you explain the MM operations here?
