Am I reading pre-market correctly? They are showing 1.3 millions shares traded.
I'm in the camp of why would IDCC do a private offering when they have abundant cash on hand. It better be a terrific reason. JMO
I went to get a haircut this afternoon....looks like IDCC got one too. JMO
Company going private has been a concern of mine as well. They've already bought 37m shares....another 37m shares and we have IDCC going private. This would be a major disappointment for long time shareholders. JMO
Yep, alll 7 lbs of her. Greta is our 10 year old Yorkie. Great little dog who believes in IDCC.
Anyone know why the upswing today? Tia
Now that's Jist funny....I don't care who you are!
I'm not much of a chart guy....more into fundamentals. We gave up a bit at the close, but it was a good day for the most part. JMO
Maybe today is triple witching Tuesday.........seriously though, we are closing in on a million share day on no news (that we know about).
Nice rebound so far today, up a buck and a quarter and still climbing. Could it be an early court ruling?
IDCC applauds "strong patent act" introduced today.
InterDigital Applauds Senator Coons' Strong Patents Act, Introduced Today
WILMINGTON, Del., March 3, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- InterDigital, Inc. I think we all agree it's good they are buying back shares. IMO, I just hope they don't buy ALL the shares.
Can't speak for everyone, but I know my expectations were high back in the day of comments like "mini Qualcomm" and "engine & transmission"........and let's not forget the calculator with many zeros. I agree that IDCC has a come a long way but not near as far as they led us to believe. JMO
Thanks David. That's even better than I thought. Shows confidence in our future......so long as they don't buy back another 37m shares.
Thanks Olddog. Wonder how DnDodd came up with 37 million?
Yep, if memory serves...about 12-13 million shares have been bought back. JMO
doesn't matter who makes the products as long as we're paid for our contributions - imo
Here-in lies the problem. Sometimes it seems like IDCC is better at designing intellectual property than they are at getting paid for it. JMO
WOW, I wish my Verizon bill was only $6 a month.
Another form 4.....no biggie.
Wouldn't know it by our share price. JMO
My confusion is: why are Samsung and Hauwei conceding on these patents while NOK/MSFT and ZTE fighting on same. Simply doesn't make sense. JMO
Zomby, I look at it as if we don't have the goods.....Bill Merritt has some splainin to do.
Thanks for the very informative post, GHors. Well, IMO Apple would lose at least 3 out of 5 arguments in the sentence below against IDCC.
"Smartflash makes no products, has no employees, creates no jobs, has no U.S. presence, and is exploiting our patent system," Apple spokeswoman Rachel Wolf said in the statement.
Not to be harsh, but if things don't go well.......heads better roll...including our CEO. Seems a lot is riding on these patents. Merritt and the boys have been living the dream for some time now. JMO
Kind of ironic, I recall numerous CC's where Merritt stated how confident he was in IDCC's strong patent portfolio.
Yes, by all means..........thank you!
Isn't our flea a small company?
IIRC, somebody mentioned a legal decision that will be decided on Friday. Can someone provide some details and what it could mean for IDCC? Tia
Always remember that infringers believe patent claims are obvious after have been approved, issued and being used under license by their competitors.
Loop, do we know if 244 or 970 are being used by current licensees such as Samsung and Pegatron? tia
Looks like we are approaching a million shares for the day.
That's what I said......for the day.
Looks like we are approaching a million shares for the day. That's more than double our average. Wonder what's going on. Anybody notice anything in the options?
Mickey might be playing Bridge or possibly it's his wedding day......or maybe he's busy buying more IDCC. Just thinking out loud..........
I'd like to see more volume behind the move.
marion
Along with another 3 or 4 point rise would be nice.
Maybe todays buyers are the same guys that sold last week after the CAFC decision and now have a change of heart. Only now the ante has been raised, lol. JMO
I too would like to express my appreciation to Olddog. He seems to fly under the radar on this forum with his effort going unnoticed. Thank you sir.
If there was any insider trading, I hope they prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
Well, turns out there was a "time" discrepancy of when IDCC started to nose-dive. Appears the trades were legit. JMO
Appears to have been VERY bipartisan. Seems like after the elections were over, its back to corruption as usual. Here's a CBS excerpt and the link.
Yesterday President Obama signed a law that gutted the reporting requirements originally included in the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act. Before these changes were made the STOCK Act required congressional staffers to disclose their finances to the public to help ensure they were not engaging in corrupt practices.
But on second thought, President Obama and Congress decided that congressional staffers should be able to escape transparency.
President Obama quietly signed legislation Monday that rolled back a provision of the STOCK Act that required high-ranking federal employees to disclose their financial information online.
The White House announced Monday that the president had signed S. 716, which repealed a requirement of the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act requiring the disclosure, which had previously been delayed several times by Congress.
You never heard of this political project to reinstate corruption incentives? Don’t be surprised.
Both chambers of Congress quickly — and near silently — approved the repeal legislation at the end of last week by unanimous consent, just before heading home to their districts.
That’s right. Unanimous consent, no one wanted to put their name down as openly supporting corruption while supporting corruption. And now President Obama has signed the bill guaranteeing a more corrupt Washington.

Thanks Bob. My thoughts are, it's a crummy situation that allows the people that write the laws of the land to make stock trades on information before the rest of us get it. JMO
