thanks for the info on TEVA. I guess will see what happens soon enough on the Copaxone in the U.S.
Hey Dew figured you would be here, what pharma stock are you not? What can you tell me about Roche thinking about starting a position here stock is down big the last two days you think this is a fair entry point? I know they only pay a dividend once a year annualy and thats past and from what I have researched for a big pharma that Roche is they have a great pipeline that is also young meaning no big patent expirations like PFE and others have...I appreciate your insights on everything, also a quick question why is Roche not listed on the NYSE them and Bayer, I know the NYSE cost more to be listed on but for a ocmpany like Roche thats peanut money, they had 50 billion in sales in 2010 and net income of like 9 billion, I cant figure it out....thanks.
I can tell you that re-juv is still selling and crossac.com is still up, so if thats the case that means cxac is still alive, Bravo hasnt given up or else the website and such would have been shutdown a long time ago.
I still say there is dillution going on at CLKZ and thats why the stock is as low as it is, I still say we might see triple zeros at the rate were going here.
IHGP - will we see more accumilation today and the pps over a penny? Good volume yesterday and buying volume too, wonder if that could mean something is coming like news soon for IHGP, or was it just one of those days?
so far so good today for ALU lets see if we can break 6 bucks per share today.
I thought there was no resistance after 5.77 on ALU
IHGP - looks like bid at .0091 ask is at .01
IHGP - looking pretty good and decent volume too.
Exclusive: Permira leads pack in Alcatel unit sale
FRANKFURT/NEW YORK (Reuters) - Private equity firm Permira has emerged as the frontrunner to buy a collection of businesses put up for sale by telecom gear maker Alcatel-Lucent (ALUA.PA), sources familiar with the situation told Reuters.
The crown jewel of the sale is Genesys, which sells software for the operation of call centers and video conferencing and is attractive for its high margins.
"Permira is the lead horse," one source said. It is offering $1.3 billion and the process is expected to last another month.
Permira and Alcatel-Lucent declined to comment.
Industrial players Avaya AVXX.UL and Cisco (CSCO.O) had considered bidding but bowed out and, while others had put in higher offers, Alcatel is favoring Permira because its proposal is seen as carrying less risk, the sources said.
Genesys was acquired by Alcatel in 2000.
The other businesses, which bring in more revenue but have lower margins, include IP Telephony and an ethernet switching business comparable with Hewlett-Packard's (HPQ.N) networking switches unit.
Siemens Enterprise Communications (SEN) was previously considered the frontrunner, with the best fit from an industrial point of view, but has been rejected for the time being because of the complicated structure of its offer, the sources said.
In spite of talks with Permira, Alcatel is in loose contact with other potential buyers including SEN, according to the sources.
Siemens (SIEGn.DE), which owns 49 percent of SEN, declined to comment.
The remaining 51 percent is owned by Los Angeles-based private equity firm Gores Group, which had tried unsuccessfully to bring more partners into the bid, including KKR (KKR.N).
However, Alcatel is asking for cash and, among other things, employment guarantees for staff in France, which has put off industrial bidders concerned about the inflexibility of French labor law.
Most of the employees that would be affected in France work for the lower-margin businesses, according to union sources.
The entire package of businesses being sold has annual revenue of around 1 billion euros ($1.44 billion), according to analyst estimates.
Alcatel-Lucent's unions are worried about job cuts and the prospect that the businesses could be carved up. They organized a stoppage last week at French sites to protest the plan.
The sale is part of Alcatel-Lucent CEO Ben Verwaayen's effort to turn around the company by focusing on the core business of selling gear to major telecom operators such as Vodafone Group (VOD.L) and AT&T (T.N).
Verwaayen took the helm of Alcatel-Lucent in September 2008 to rescue the Franco-American company after a value-destroying merger in 2006. The potential sale would come in the third and final year of Verwaayen's promised turnaround of the group.
Qatalyst Partners, founded by former Credit Suisse investment banker Frank Quattrone, is advising Alcatel-Lucent on the sale, sources have said.
I agree with that, we have been waiting a LONG time with CXAC, lets hope our waiting and patience pays off.
bid at .0091 and ask at .0094 better then yesterdays spread. Somebody is supporting the current price at the bid of .0091 good to see will see if it holds for IHGP. I'd like to see this get back to 2 cents or so.
still waiting here on CXAC hopefully something sooner then later. I think we will hear something this month from Mr.Bravo whether it contains in the letter that the chill is about to be lifted though who knows...
no idea right now CLKZ is a mess unfortunately and looks to be heading into triple zero land sooner then later.
good luck to you, lets hope for the best.
No your wrong there company has 2.3 billion shares outstanding on ALU, you might be thinking of Cisco they have over 5 billion outstanding. ALU market cap is currently around 13.5billion. I believe the company will prove its undervalued the company is back to growing sales improving profitability and does over 20 billion in sales annualy and again they have a lot of momentuem in the market place...I guess time will tell.
hmmmm...Intresting take on a GE/ALU deal...I dont think it will happen though.
They have to big things going for it LightRadio and the new FP3 Processor they announced last week, plus earnings keep improving will see how the company does come July 28th when second quarter earnings are due.
copaxone going generic is a big overreaction on TEVA's share price the same exact way it was with Pfizer is with Lipitor, even with a generic version of Copaxone its not like TEVA is going to lose 100% of the sales from the drug.
so far to the downside of 5 cents trading at 5.87, maybe we can get a reversal by the end of the day.
I guess will see hope your right!!
Yeah 27,600 patents is a lot...I wish ALU was trading at 9.54 right now....
7/28/2011 are earnings for ALU little less then a month...Nice announcment today with the contract with China Telecom.
Looking good hear at ALU.
Yup lots of good things going on with ALU right now hopefully too we can pass the 6.60 high to that was reached not long ago.
Yup my bad. If you look back two years ago cxac was dead too until July rolled around only difference is the freeze. Same share structure and everything so let's hope for the best.
Another nice solid up day for TEVA.
I think we will hear something this month but im thinking maybe later in the month but who knows? It could be even Monday.
Sure is hopefully next stop is six bucks and beyond.
Was hoping for a Bigger pps increase today on ALU. But I think we should be ok I know resistance is tough in this 5.80 area.
Good to know thanks. And it wasn't that long ago CLKZ was trading above 1.00 consistently.
I think we got a good shot at doing that here on ALU
we can buy CLKZ when its sitting at in the .000 prices.
thanks for sharing those emails from the CEO (Lloyd Lapidus) on CLKZ, it sounds like he's dilluting to help fund operations because he's been hesistant to say much in those responses. Nice Signature by the way...The U Baby!!!
Nice day so far for TEVA back over 48 a share.
Volume is pretty good so far in ALU not even 12pm yet and volume is already at 20 million not to shabby, this is the biggest volume day so far this week it is setting up to be.
get ready for triple zero's on clkz aimers and the new ceo once again ruined CLKZ. Especially Aimers.
did your order fill on the bid for those 400 shares of IHGP. Who would sell that little amount of shares at that price it makes no sense...thats why you have to wonder if its a little dillution maybe?
UBS Upgrades Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) to Buy, Company's Strengths Outweight Weaknesses
UBS Investment Research upgraded its rating on shares of Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) from Neutral to Buy today and shares have reacted favorably on the news trading up 0.87 percent or $0.05 to $5.81.
The firm notes that shares have fallen 10 percent since its peak in May due to overall weakness in the market and on fears around telecom equipment following cautious comments from Juniper (Nasdaq: JNPR), Finisar (Nasdaq: FSNR), and Ciena (Nasdaq: CIEN).
Due to the recent pullback, UBS encourages investors to buy on the weakness as underlying trends remain robust and as several drivers are still to come. The firm also raised its price target on the stock from €4.5 to €4.6 on higher forecasts.
UBS is very bullish on the company's growth and margin expansion potential. It forecasts a step function in cost savings in the second half from IT/real estate rationalization. The firm also believes that optics will remain solid and that many of its contracts will increase.
An analyst at UBS comments, "Apart from the fact that our/cons forecasts call for the highest-ever post merger margin in Q4, we believe several risks remain including an eventual decline in the high-margin CDMA business and failure to execute on cost savings. But our checks and mix analysis provides comfort in the near-term."
yup July is right around the corner, will see when that July update comes I guess hopefully it is sooner in the month of July rather then later in the month.
