< Looked over the old portfiolio for a liquid non-performer and CBD jumped forward.>
Different strokes for different folks.<g> I added a tad of CBD today. LOL.
Me! Just kidding Wayne. LOL. I see it did not do too bad today.
Dave,
Wrong. You will have to give it until one week after the election. LOL. <g> Hope you had a good weekend.
Tom
$ to .91 u mean?
Hey Frank Happy Sunday morning to ya. Thanks for keeping the thread going.
Wayne,
You are most correct. SVL may have a great future, but I don't like being led around by a rope..................
May end up being just enought to hang oneself.
Tom
<PS:I am awaiting Claude's next 10 reports to potentially come up with a new silver play. <g> >
The answer would be no I don't, I am waitng for Claude's next ten reports to see if he has one.
< So why bail on SVL only? >
Once again au great I agree with all you say. The reason I bailed on SVL is it is my only current stock holding being affected by politics or at least has the potential to be affected presently. When SVL gets the permission to drill and are actually drilling I will buy the stock again. Even at a double from here if that is what it takes.
Tom
PS:I am awaiting Claude's next 10 reports to potentially come up with a new silver play. <g> As I have said please don't listen to me as I am full of beans and there are much wiser people here. But I am entitled to an opinion even in the new police state we are living in here.
au great,
There is much truth in what you have to say. My irritation stems from how IR and officers of SVL polished their spin on things and then had the NR after the fact. Way after. It may be a great investement. I would stick with it if you like it. It may triple by the end of 2004.
Click on the photo on this link to El Ocote:
http://silvercrestmines.com/elocote.html
Ralph what you say is true but I will not buy into SVL again until I know the drills are turning. Yes at that point the price will be higher. Search the web, there is a lot of opposition against mining in Honduras. That may keep El Ocote from becoming a mine even if the drill finds the 50-100 M ounces. Check out the Arena Blanca photo on the SVL site. It shows street lights in the foreground. This think is not that far from town. I don't know but I am cautious after that NR and the fact I was told different in weeks and days prior to that NR especially when I know the ministry of mines had delivered their notice to back off several weeks prior to that NR.
Tom
RT Claude would be more than happy to answer and is much wiser than myself.
Tom
Dave,
SVL may double or triple next year. I just get a bad taste in my mouth when I feel as though I have been pumped with half truths or outright mis-statements of truth.
And after I cool my heels I may re-enter SVL but of course would like the drill to turn on a project. And they will add projects.
Tom
PS:Right now I think my chances with CKG are better.
Well Dave I still like my decision. Sold off SVL. Don't like people who basically lie plain and simple. Doesn't matter what facet of life it is. I may buy back only when drills are turning. But I am now loaded for grizzly bear with CKG. We go down or up with POG I think I will be okay.
Let's see if Randy threepeats. <g>
Have a great weekend.
Tom
Check this out: http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=KRE.V
I posted on it on a bit over a week ago. <g>
I think CC would agree with that. <g>
right on!
Dave,
I am selling SVL. I think the NR stinks about the drill rigs. Several times I was told drills were on the site, through customs, others were available, drilling was imminent. Refer to the NR for a different story. The deal on the locals p#sses me off also. Look at the picture of the location of the Arena Blanca deposit on their web site. Shows city street lights in the photos and dwelling roofs. I asked multiple times if that was a problem and if there were problems with the locals. I was told NO! Then I come to find out that the Minister of Mines for Honduras requested to SVL several weeks ago to not drill and see if they could settle out with the locals etc. So I have lost trust in the management and IR of SVL.
Now that is not to say they may not correct the issues at hand and be drilling immediately but I have received several unsolicited PM's from people on SI that are reasonable in nature and that I have corresponded with in the past saying they think it stinks and have sold including my good friend and box mate.
When and if SVL settle this and has a NR that the drills are actually turning I will buy back in but not until. And even then I have reviewed the WEB and have found there is a lot of opposition in Honduras to mining and I will not hold the stock as a potential mining play only as a spec.
I have a bad taste about the whole story as SVl was a very large portion of my PF prior to their last NR and this silver rally saved my PF as I see it, as I have been able to dump a majority of my stock since the news release. It still may be a great story but.............
Good luck I know you are a better trader than myself and I respect your buying decision.
BTW my SVL proceeds have gone into CKG primarily but not entirely.
Tom
And when we go above $400 how soon will the swoon come. I figure pretty fast after we breach the big number. A lot of these stocks have ran too far and as a lot of people are saying even the HUI is way above the 200 DMA. BWTHDIK?
<Sounds like BS to me.>
We all better hope it's BS Dave. Russian suitcase bombs still on the move? That could be BS too.
I know this much. The Twin Towers and the Pentagon were not BS much to my dismay.
I hope so Claude likes it and thinks they have a chance in the legal wrangling to come out on top.
I bought what you were selling but I paid a little less so I got someone elses.
Tom
This stock has had a great run since I made this post:
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=1699813
eva no drill results from CKG until early 1st quarter of 2004
good i will sell you some SVL off to work
Kastel Dow 3,000 is no piece of cake but no problem to get to 4500 range in my book. Too much debt out there.
amark,
Can you post any of the CI article on gold?
Tom
Where is that bad baby going to open?? <g>
I am breathing but breathing a bit of fire. The IR guys got me again. <ng> SVL should pan out but now we are on the delay circuit for quite some time I would say. But obviously what do I know? Not much. Of course I should have put my whole stash in CKG at 1.65-1.75 when I had the chance last year.
Tom
Hope so Frank. Don't like to sell into a panic. We have seen CDU and AQI come back.
Well it is looking better than SVL at the moment.
There for a minute I was thinking you were saying SVL was at an all time high. <ng> What is the live quote Dave?
amark as I just told Frank I think INM has great chances and it is one of CC's favorites.
No just pointing out something I was told about El Tesoro. I think they have great chances but are moving almost as fast towards drilling as SVL. <ng>
Randy actually looked at El Tosoro and thought the veins were too narrow and that they would not be able to prove up the tonnage.
Slow in volume or appreciation??
Round,
Only what Claude provided, along with their web site and sedar. Lot of ounces already, exploration potential, permitting in place I believe, money in the bank, Mark Bailey on the board. Being touted by several new letters including Bob Bishop. News on the way.
Tom
Here is what I pulled the trigger on today in a big way:
http://www.kenricheskay.com/index.php?site=8&page=53
<<Kenrich-Eskay Mining Corp. [KRE.V-TSX] is gearing up for its 2003 exploration program at the Corey gold-silver prospect located in the Unuk Valley about 70 km north of Stewart, northwest British Columbia.
This area was the scene of a major gold-silver discovery by Stikine Resources (Ron Netolitzky) and Calpine Resources (Murray Pezim) back in 1989, now the producing Eskay Creek Mine, is one of the richest mines in the world.
Currently owned by Barrick Gold Corp. after its merger with Homestake, the Eskay Creek Mine is the fifth largest silver producer in the world, having produced 104.7 million ounces of silver and 2.25 million ounces of gold by the end of 2002. The deposit also hosts 3.2% lead, 5.2% zinc and 0.7% copper. When first discovered, the Eskay Creek ground yielded spectacular assays including drill hole 109 that returned 0.875 oz.gold/ton over 208 metres. As of January 2001, proven and probable reserves were estimated to be 1.42 million tonnes grading 1.50 oz.gold/ton and 68.3 oz.silver/tonne.
These facts are of great importance to the exploration of the Corey project as the 32 Kenrich-Eskay Mining claims are just seven km distant, along strike and in the same geological environment (stratigraphic units) as the Eskay Creek Mine.
Since acquiring a 100% interest in the Corey property in 1995, Kenrich-Eskay Mining has discovered multiple zones of Eskay-type mineralization, namely the Bench, Battlement, Cumberland, GFJ and HSOV showings. Actually, this is not surprising as these types of mineral deposits are found in clusters. For example, at Rouyn-Noranda, northern Quebec, there are some 100 similar deposits, which led to the building of 50 separate mines.
Trenching on the HSOV Showing (pictured above) at the Corey gold-silver project north of Stewart, British Columbia. The jack hammer is used to drill small holes which are filled with dynamite. After blasting, the broken rocks are sent for assay.
Kenrich-Eskay Mining has an agreement to utilize the Eskay-Creek mine site as a staging area for its own exploration programs. This has substantially reduced earlier helicopter costs and provides a nearby convenient site that is road-accessible from the south.
During 1995, about $1.6 million was spent of the Corey property that included detailed mapping, sampling and geophysical surveys that resulted in the discovery of three significant gold-bearing quartz-sulphide veins – Sheelagh Creek, CB and TM, as well as the HSOV Showing. A grab sample from the TM Showing yielded 1.23 oz.gold/ton (42.10 grams/tonne). Assays from Sheelagh Creek have returned trench samples grading up to 1.79 oz.gold/ton and 3.19 oz.silver/ton. This work was followed by another $1.6 million program in 1996 that included eight drill holes on the Bench Zone, five drill holes on the Cumberland and three drill holes on the Sheelagh Creek Showing. Previous assays from the Cumberland Zone have included 0.272 oz.gold/ton, 2.67 oz.silver/ton, 9.8% zinc, 2.7% lead and 0.45% copper. Smaller exploration programs have taken place in the intervening years.
There are at least 20 partially explored zones of mineralization on the Corey property representing various types of deposits, including volcanogenic sulphide, skarn, porphyry, shear and fissure-veins. The main Eskay Creek type of mineral deposit is a shallow, sub-aqueous hot spring deposit, recognized as an important new class of sub-marine mineral deposit. In other words, the ore zone formed through hydrothermal exhalations known as “black smokers” on an ancient sea floor, a process that is still going on off the west coast of North America. The metals that are spewed out fall to the floor of the ocean, building up in layers, as can be seen in the rock units at the Eskay Creek Mine.
Wally Boguski, president, says the exploration program for 2003, budgeted between $400,000 and $500,000, is expected to start in May and will include geological mapping, surface trenching of the HSOV, the GFJ and the Cumberland South zones. This work will define specific targets for a diamond drilling program, expected to start sometime in August.
Kenrich-Eskay Mining is also exploring two nickel, copper and platinum group metals prospects, the Langmuir South and Eldorado Triple Crown, near Timmins, northern Ontario where drilling is currently underway. The company is earning a 70% interest from Starfire Minerals Inc. [SFR.V-TSX] Assays are pending from the Eldorado Triple Crown. As of early April, one drill hole has been completed on the Langmuir South property and is being logged in preparation for assay>>
I understand they are close to being drill ready at this point.
you made money on it today! <g>
I got you nailed <g> but I think you are hitting on something on silver. And it may be big. I am a more simple guy and can't figure the charts, they are like tea leaves, also like the math you did that time for me on tonnage etc., too complicated for me at this point. Or I am too lazy. <g>
But think of this in simple terms. Find the ore. Do the permitting. Build out the mine and smelter. Hire the people. Dig it up. Smelt and refine it. Stamp it into a shiny and beautiful 1 ounce round. Now how do we get $5.00. out of all that????
Something is fishy. It cost's 2.25 for a latte at starbucks. A good hamburger is 6-7 bucks.
So what is the deal CD on this dinky price for silver? I am with you but I can't figure it out. The bond market and t-bills, stock market is much larger than the silver market. Why would anybody fiddle around rigging the price? Does it make sense or is there more silver out there than we think?
Just fishing for your thoughts.
Tom
cd always has silver on his mind!! <g>
