Mr. M
For now I'm taking those 1,000 hard-core mental health professionals as a proxy for the entire mental health industry. This would mean literally millions have been waiting and wishing for just such a film to be made:
"The film also is more than dramatic entertainment. It will provide public education and help reduce the stigma that traditionally has surrounded mental illness, while reinforcing messages of hope."
Isn't it good to be associated with a big success that is no flash-in-the-pan?
Can we all say "cross-over"?
I recall what was said of the first missionaries who went to Hawaii. "They went to do good and they did very well." May we do both.
More than A BEAUTIFUL MIND
Concerning the movie CANVAS where Qbanito is featured:
"Drawing an audience of approximately 1,000 people and receiving a long, standing ovation, the film clearly was one of the highlights of the convention. It had a powerful impact on members. "
"CANVAS has the potential to touch the general public more than the movie A BEAUTIFUL MIND--which was itself a breakthrough--because the film focuses not on a Nobel Prize-winning mathematician, but an ordinary family. CANVAS is a story that people can identify with."
"The film also is more than dramatic entertainment. It will provide public education and help reduce the stigma that traditionally has surrounded mental illness, while reinforcing messages of hope."
"NAMI looks forward to helping promote the film once it is finished. Thank you for making it"

The NAMI Letter (typo corrected)
Burried in the online Press Kit for the movie CANVAS premiering today at the Hampton's International Film Festival is this letter from the Executive Director of NAMI to Joe Greco, director of CANVAS. Besides sharing in revenues from the movie soundtrack this is important to GMSC investors because the success of this film will help Qbanito "cross over" to the English market. There may be synergies found in cross promotion: perhaps Qbanito will appear at a benefit concert for NAMI etc. Because of CANVAS Qbanito will be established among the "Who's Who" in English Land. If his other ducks are lined up this will open important doors. Because of it's sensitive and authentic portrayal of Schizophrenia millions of people whose lives have been affected will see this film. Most films are quickly forgotten. CANVAS will be around a long time because it has a powerful constituency and serves a much higher purpose--Qbanito will be there.

Dear Joe,
Thank you for helping to make the recent National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) annual convention in Washington, D.C. a success by allowing us to hold a private screening of your unfinished film, CANVAS.
Drawing an audience of approximately 1,000 people and receiving a long, standing ovation, the film clearly was one of the highlights of the convention. It had a powerful impact on members. It is one of the few dramatic films that can be considered authentic in its portrayal of Schizophrenia--presenting both heart-breaking and heart-warming dimensions, and even touches of humor.
NAMI members have praised Marcia Gay Harden, Joe Pantaliano, and Devon Gearhart for their performances, which are marked by realism, balance, and great sensitivity. They also have commented that CANVAS has the potential to touch the general public more than the movie A BEAUTIFUL MIND--which was itself a breakthrough--because the film focuses not on a Nobel Prize-winning mathematician, but an ordinary family. CANVAS is a story that people can identify with.
The film also is more than dramatic entertainment. It will provide public education and help reduce the stigma that traditionally has surrounded mental illness, while reinforcing messages of hope.
NAMI looks forward to helping promote the film once it is finished. Thank you for making it, and again, for sharing it with us.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Fitzpatrick, M.S.W

Bouge Ton Culito!!
"Partir"-- Starting Out
Qbanito's first album is really quite remarkable. I'm sitting here looking through the 16 page full color booklet that is included with each unit. It is a an artistic tour de force which hauntingly and powerfully showcases Qbanito's 12 debut pieces. The photography in the CD case and booklet itself is so far beyond what I expected. The whole thing just grows on you. Somehow it carries Qbanito's soul to you with the soul of Cuba. For Qbanito's music to reach me its had to transcend every barrier: generational, taste in music, language, ethnicity, culture, values and worldview. You see I'm an old boomer who has attended the same classical music festival for well over 30 years and I hate bars and clubs. Not the profile of a Qbanito fan? I'm one.

Mr. Going Up
Here is the promo-line from Qbanito's old duo "Convoy Cubano":
"Convoy Cubano produces a sound with an energy flow like no other — a tropical, heart-warming sound that appeals to all ages, races and generations."
I believe the "all ages, races, and generations part." Now sales numbers will speak.
Qbanito on the Silver Screen / October 21

World Premiere
Directed By: Joseph Greco
Screenwriter: Joseph Greco
Producer: Sharon Lane, Adam Hammel, Lucy Hammel, Joe Pantoliano, Bill Erfurth
Editor: Nina Kawasaki
Cinematographer: Rob Sweeney
Music: Joel Goodman
Cast: Joe Pantoliano, Marcia Gay Harden, Devon Gearhart
A father and his young son cope with the mental illness of a wife and mother in this affecting portrait of an embattled family. CANVAS trades on small moments when hope alternates with frustration and love overcomes embarrassment. Joe Pantoliano stars as a John Marino, a Florida construction worker struggling to make ends meet, bring up his son Chris (Devon Gearhart) and deal with the increasing irrationality of his schizophrenic wife Mary (Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden). For Chris, his mother's erratic behavior begins to have negative consequences at school. And, after Mary's hospitalization, a lonely John begins to build a sailboat that recalls a happier time in his life. Underlying the relationship between father and son is the belief that Mary will be better and the fear that she never will. Writer-director Joseph Greco pulls back on the emotional reins to underscore his points and in return receives perfectly calibrated performances from his three leads. Shot on location in Hollywood Beach, FL, the film survived two tropical storms and Hurricane Wilma.

If Qbanito really shines tonight and then wins the equivalent of a Grammy for "Maria" Monday night . . . that 2 cent buyout offer may be politely refused or sweetened.

Mr. King
I wish you, Qbanito and everyone on the GMSC team the very best tonight at the Brick. This is probably the biggest night in this company's history. I trust everythying is lined up to make the most of this long-term for shareholders.
Mr. Web
I suspect that in the 10 odd years this company has been producing gold and platinum albums there may never have been a time when they are busier than this last week. This first-to-the-table buyout offer is hopefully just that. Others might be at the Brick tonight and/or waiting to see how "Adivina Quien Llego" sells.
MWM
It is good to see serious investors recognize the value here. If this company is done raising money in the market: good!!
Let's see the rumor of a share rollback/cancellation materialize into something supportive of long-term confidence here.
Qbanito, May you shine tonight. Show your quality!!
