I just heard from radio, KPCC, 89.3 this morning regarding to REE in China. The Chinese gov. Complained that there are so many illegal REE mines in China now and that drives down the REE prices to the point that it's not worth it for the govt to mine REE; however, they're cracking down on these illegal mines now so it makes REE worthwhile to mine again.
It's been so long since I post anything here. Anyway, what's going on to JB? What happens to LL? Has that boy produced anything worthy, yet? We're creeping back to subpenny. Does that bother JB any bit? What kind of pressure us - investors - can do so JB can stop wasting our money on waiting and diluting the stock? Does anyone still think that our current pp is a gift from JB? Anyway, im still holding on to my shares - all 1/2 million of it. I'll either get rich or go broke, no break even or accept loss for me. Glta...
http://people.forbes.com/profile/james-briscoe/49265 I hope the link can provide some kind of answer on this issue. I remember I read somewhere on a website listed Briscoe's salary was $1+ mil. Larry liang was $80,000+ then I read on another website it stated that there are 4 employees currently working for Liberty Star and their average salary is about $59,000+ . Othon is VP business development Mexico. Larry Liang is business development China. As you can see the un-uniformity of the information given above. I think fobres has the most current one. Anyway, would it be great if Warren Buffet were to invest $200 mil of his $50 billions into Liberty Star?
Kido, I have asked this question here before and some one did give me the answer. I didn't keep it in my mailbox though so I'm just going to give it to you by memory.
Let's say with our current O/S is the same and we'll keep the 40/60 split with our future partner(s) and given that the drill core produced some positive result and we start going into production then the prices are follow:
- 6 Pebbles = $19.69/share
- 12 Pebbles = $39+/share
Of course, these prices are not priced-in with other claims we have in AZ. Some people read the estimation above and kind of disagree with it and said that the prices should be double the estimated amount given above. Hope this is the answer you're looking for. Good luck.
I don't know how you guys rationalize about investing in LBSR but this is how I weigh the risks vs. rewards in this stock:
Risks:
- No company wants to JV since it'll require a substantial fund. (In that case, I think JB is looking for multiple JV partners, right?)
- Another lawsuit out of wedlock.
- JB being stubborn and wants to get the most percentage in the split since he's holding a bad-a$$ finding (BCSP) then things will keep dragging for I don't know how long.
- The findings are not as accurate as ZTEM result, but I think the recent SRK report has just swept this worry away.
Rewards: Once the JV is signed and drilling's announced, I can pretty much retire.
My questions for all of you here are:
- Do you think we're going to leave those treasures buried down there especially when our country is neck deep in debt?
- Do you think getting permit to drill on the BCSP will be a problem, especially when AK laws allows mining on state's land?
- What's stopping LBSR to drill right after they found JV partners?
I don't know, guys. If I were Obama or the next U.S President, I would be like "drill that damn place ASAP because I want to pay off our debt to the Red China". This thing might be involving a lot of powerful people in a higher level than we could think of. I remember reading a post here suggesting that we will drill in May2012. Ummmmm... as much as I wish for that to happen, I don't think it will be that fast since we are now do not have a JV partner, yet. This is my "make it or lose it" stock, so I have no choice but to wait whether should it be 1 year or 5 or 10. That's my evaluation of LBSR base on just my opinion and common sense. What's your rationalization in investing or bashing LBSR? I want to hear it. For those that hold no shares but keep standing on the sideline and bash/pump, I really don't need your opinion. Frankly, I think you shouldn't be on this board anyway.
Do you remember how all of us would like to relive those sweet moments we had when we were young? Well ... it looks like you are one of the lucky ones who can get to relive that. Oops, sorry!!! I mean 6 - 12 times of that.... kakakaka.
May be 2012 is going to be the best year ever since my awareness of the world event has gotten a little more ... well... aware:
- The death of Kim Jong-eww (Thanks to "Team America")
- The death of Khadafi (you're awesome, Team America)
- Our last combat troops have got out of that h3llhole called "Iraq" (Welcome home and Merry Christmas, troops)
- The SRK official report of 6-12 the size of Pebble (Thanks, JB)
- The checkmate of the bear brigade (Priceless)
Now we start a great new year with a clean blade... only to stain it again with those bears' blood... Kakaka.. just joking. Seriously people, Elvis is dead from obesity.
Ummmm ... you're making me nervous. I just hope for 6 solid pebbles so my kids and I can retire early. kakaka... is that too much to ask for?
Please help me figure this out. TIA. Let's say we have ONLY 6 times the size of Pebble, with proven drill cores, and starting to go into production at the 60/40 split in profit and with our current O/S. How much is our pps would be? It's been a long time since I come back to LBSR message board, and it took me more than a week to read most of the serious DD's from S4s, HKipp1, Xzx, Yang2, Deadjim, amigo777 and others' as well. Thank you all of you for your times and researches. I've been holding LBSR for more than a year. I don't know that would constitute me as a "long", but I would like to think so since I was a day-trader before. Anyway, thank you in advance for answering my question.
P.S: I think I'm lucky for unable to get online and follow LBSR daily prices. Wow... you guys are the true believers. I would be in the nut-house by now if I had to endure what most of you have endured. So, OneMessageOnly just simply disappeared huh.:))
What is your profession when you are not a trader? Some kind psyop guy for the government? Man, it's not cool of you playing with my head like that and "yes" you have got my attention ... Phewwwww!!!
Great thinking. Strategy to bring our voice to JB is something we MUST think about. We cannot outright accusing him of arrogance or neglecting. He will flat out deny that even if he knew we were right. Freaking ego, right? JB has all reasons to have that super-ego though and we can't blame him for that.
For some reason I keep thinking of my former boss' name, which is Stacey. What I meant was TRACY. Sorry, all.
I agree with you on public pressure, Fernace. Enough is enough !!! I'm a long term investor of LBSR, although my shares are half as yours, but regardless. I cannot claim that I know of or about JB, but this has gone too far. I saw the 11% drop today and I wonder. Decent news so far but price/share is on the down slope. Why? Is it because the market has lost faith in JB or LBSR as a whole? As shareholders, we need to know what the heck JB and LBSR have in their mind? Are they saving the best for last or are they scamming investors' hard earned money? I simply cannot stand answers from Stacey which were and still are ... useless. Confidential this and confidential that. The only answers she has for us were things that we can research ourselves. For those who doubt my above statement let them explain one specific statement that Stacey's stated specifically that we cannot find in the PR - her statements were all opinions and misleading speculation. I'm starting to think that LBSR is operated like our own government which is if they can't explain it then they fall back on the "because of the sensitivity of the issue, we can't elaborate more". Let's raise some voice within our longs and bring the heat to LBSR. I'll be first on your consensus list with my signature.
No argue here. You get your point across very well. What I was trying to say is the gold price and our price is irrelevant for NOW, since LBSR has not come out with any significant announcement - something like drilling plan or better yet... yeah, we got trillion worth of gold and other things underground and we're bringing them up. If I don't really believe in the potential of this stock, I would have sold it long, long time ago. I was a day trader at first so you understand what I meant by "long". I have never left my money in any stock for more than 24 to 48 hours, let alone a whole year.
Would LBSR still in penny land IF there was something down there and PROVEN, especially when the gold price keeps on hiking as it is? Don't take a phrase of my message and take it out of its content. Answer this, will LBSR pps rise if there was nothing proven under the ground regardless of how high the gold price might be? Do you see my point now? I agree with you that the power speculation is scarily strong, but do you really want to invest your money base on speculation alone and not of the company's true potential? I've been holding a large amount of LBSR shares and it's been over a year. Believe me when I say I want it to head somewhere up north, preferably dollar land.
Great point!!! I've been seeing people keep this board update with the gold price. With all due respect to those people, I can do that with a simple google search. Mean while, as of right now, LBSR and gold price has nothing to do in common. Like you said, gold price can be gazillion dollars an ounce, LBSR is still going to be worth sh!tless if there is no worthy proven underground. Don't get me wrong, I'm a long and strong and holding a lot of LBSR shares but I can't deny your legit reason. Another thing... I'm freaking hate it when people say they have a freaking "FEELING" that this thing will be sky-rocketed soon. They didn't bother to say why or how or what kind of crap their "feeling" base on. Oh.. hey... I have a "FEELING" that Osama is still alive. I don't know how and why but ... FREAKING FEELING.
This might have you guys laughing a bit. I was 1/2 way waking up this morning and saw LBSR stock gained 726%. I was like ... holy sh1t. I went from 1/2 awake to fully awake in less than 1.2 million of a second ... then I saw a ZERO in front of the 726%. I was like... son of a ... and went back to sleep.
To Da Moon is right. I am using Zecco to trade and it said there are 100 Zecco members holding LBSR. I don't know how many shares these 100 members hold though. Anyway, it's been a long time I come back to Ihub (almost spell Ihop there kakaka). Many new names but the old and enthusiast mods are still here. You guys have helped a lot of people to keep their sanity throughout the last 8 brutal months for LBSR investors. As for the weak-hands ... oh well ... we can't blame them but they will blame themselves later though.
Oh, you're right! Thanks a lot, man. I totally didn't know anything about LBSR share structure, especially it's the reason why my account is at 60+% loss.
We will work through it? Who is "we"? Are you working for Liberty Star? If so, are you holding an executive position? If you're talking about "we" as average investors - as you and I - then forget it. We are insignificant in Briscoe thought when he issued out warrants to pump in money for his own spending spree. Now. "WE" should know this and "WE" should know that our account value is at Briscoe's mercy.
Well. We didn't believe LBSR would go down to .10 when it was at .19. We didn't believe it would go down to .06 when it was at .10. We are now at high .03 and you don't believe it would go to sub-penny? Why not? Because we would soak up all the shares too fast? As fast as Briscoe issues them? What is our OS now?
Email from Tracy. Basically, it's more of the same but I just want to put it up here for you guys to read. I'll post my email and her reply. I erased my true name and other non-pertinent information that I included in my email because these information is my identity.
Sir/ma'am,
I've been a heavy investor of LBSR for approximately 4 months. A little about
myself. (sentence erased.) (sentence erased.) I will get straight to the point and say this for myself, and a lot of other investors, that I am very frustrating with the everyday PPS of LBSR. According to the ZTEM, we MAY have 6-7 the Pebble, but why are we doing worst even after the law-suit was settle? Is the JV still on the table? May I ask why there is no drilling to prove out what we truly have underground? I understand Mr. Briscoe does not have to share every step of his plan or what's truly going on within the company to us average investors, but his quietness is sending a lot of investors away. For those of us who decided to still believing in LBSR are very, very frustrated and confused. What's next? How much longer? Why the silent treatment? I understand patience is the game here, but how much longer? I hope it won't be another 12 or 24 more months of this same behavior. My - and many other investors - question is what are we waiting for now? In your opinion, will our wait worth it and how much longer should we believe in LBSR? Thank you so much for your time. I apologize in advance if my language somehow sound disrespectful and frustrating. I am frustrating but in no way I mean any disrespect to you. Thank you again kindly.
Tracy's reply:
Greetings (my name),
I have heard from more than a few newer investors frustrated by the lack of a speedy upswing in our share price, especially considering we experienced a 4000% price increase over the course of 2010. Unfortunately I do not know where our share price is headed in the short term. Of course I think the price will go up--so does Briscoe--he has not sold any of his shares.
Please keep in mind that the mineral exploration industry is the most volatile sector in the stock trading world. I advise you get in touch with a bunch of different sources including investors that have made much money with mineral exploration stocks and those that have lost their investments. You may find that timing is everything. Did you know that some investors are still underwater with their NAK investment? It's true--the all time high of NAK was around $17.00.
As far as the JV--both sides seem to be content to follow the terms of the agreement outlined in July, but never finalized. Northern Dynasty need not be in any hurry--they have plenty of proven resources to worry about right now at the Pebble East. I believe our day will come, but I don't know when that is. As far as silence--it is true--We do not put out news releases unless a material change happens--These events more that often are completely unscheduled. Lan, this is how this industry works! We are not terribly creative about PR. That is on purpose--we have gained a high level of trust by not putting out non-news news releases. Drilling is an important next step, but we do not have a drill plan to report just yet.
Please feel free to call me so we can speak at length. My home office is in Tucson, AZ 520-622-4716. I appreciate your service to our country!
Brikk, that certainly is beautiful. BTW, 1st resistance is .0569 and 2nd resistance is .0604. I'm thinking about buying Mr. JB a big red suit and a set of gray beard.
I hope you were right with the $1 minimum, Jim. Remember someone said don't put all you eggs in one basket? Well... I didn't remember that. I saw huge potential in LBSR then and decided to go all in. I miss my day-trading days. You and I are hoping for the same thing. If this goes to $1, I'll have enough to live without any income for a year or two and be able to do day trading. Let's hope our goal will be met soon. GLTY.
I don't understand NAK pps relation to ours. The JV is on or something? Thanks.
Media help people to figure out the Judgement Day will be in 2012. Now a total collapse of global economy will collapse in 2012, too? Whoa... 1999 flashback again. Should I sell LBSR now and take the 60%+ loss then move to the world highest mountain and live like a caveman?
I'm just guessing here. I think the real hold up caused by lack of CONCRETED positive news. A lot of DD on this board pointed to positive JV, but many others still considered these messages as "speculation." I believe they don't want to take any risk. I guess they rather be safe than sorry. If you screened for stocks using conventional criteria, you won't find LBSR on it which lead me to believe that we're not well-known by the public, yet.
Reminder: As of 26NOV2010, LBSR is a "stock to watch" according to google finance.
40 years huh... I don't even know how many of us will live that long. I'm pretty sure Mr. B is gonna have a hell of a time trying to survive the next 40 years.

Just four months before it begins the extensive formal permitting process, the Pebble Limited Partnership has begun reducing its impact on the tundra outside Iliamna—at least visually.
The company, comprising Anglo American and Northern Dynasty Minerals, hopes to develop the controversial area near the headwaters of the Bristol Bay Salmon Fisheries into a large-scale copper, gold and molybdenum mine.
“One of the most remarkable things people still find curious about our operation is the fact that we actually package human waste collected at the site, and ship it to Anchorage for disposal,” said Pebble Partnership Vice President of Public Relations Mike Heatwole. “We’re serious about minimizing our footprint out here.”
According to Heatwole, since 2004, Pebble has spent some $120 million on environmental baseline studies.
“We’ve drilled more than 800 holes out there,” Heatwole said, gesturing over the land. “But when we fly over the area in the helicopter, tell me how many of the holes you can actually see.”
No drill holes or scarred areas are visible from above — or at ground level.
“We also have more than 400 groundwater monitoring locations,” he explained. “And most people don’t know that the water quality standard we have to maintain out here is higher than what is required for drinking water for humans. It’s a pretty high standard to meet.”
Heatwole indicated there are 67 major state and federal permits that must be obtained by Pebble before the company can move forward with development of the mine. He noted that hundreds of permits, including minor, more specific ones, will be required by permit’s end.
“We’ve figured out that, by the time we get all the information in for all the different permits for all the different areas, the document will be about 6,000 pages long,” Heatwole said. “The plan is to release it at the end of the year with a 150-page technical summary, and a 30-40 page overall summary.”
Getting down to brass tacks
One of the biggest issues discussed thus far in regard to the practicality of the Pebble Mine is generating enough power for its operation. Heatwole said company estimates so far show the mine would need something to support an annual load of about 250-400 megawatts.
“We’ve looked at linking to Nikiski via submarine cable, but we’re still exploring a variety of ideas,” he said. “Our CEO (John Shively) has said that, if we can bring low-cost power to the mine site, we want to bring it to the entire region.”
Heatwole said Pebble would prefer to use natural gas, but have also looked at wind generation and geothermal options.
“It would really make sense, however, for Pebble to become the industrialized anchor for a state natural gasline,” he said.
Another factor considered imperative to maintaining the pristine quality of the Bristol Bay Watershed is the use of cyanide to extract minerals such as gold and copper from other minerals in the rock.
Jim Lang, senior vice president of geology for Hunter Dickinson, said cyanide is one method of extraction, but not the only way.
“If that winds up being the means necessary for extraction, it would be processed within a closed system,” he explained. “There would be no infiltration to outside water systems.”
Lang called Pebble’s find outside Iliamna a “globally significant discovery.”
“People seem to think that this is primarily a gold mine, but it’s always been about the copper,” he said.
In response to ongoing boycotts of Pebble-produced gold from mega jewelers like Zales and Tiffany, Lang said it is virtually impossible to detect where a certain “portion” of gold came from.
“The way this stuff is extracted and separated and smelted, there’s just no way to really track it,” he explained. “It’s not like being able to tell whether diamonds came from South Africa or Brazil. Gold can’t provide those ‘specific’ signatures.”
Heatwole echoed Lang, adding that he finds it interesting the number of people opposed to the Pebble Prospect who don’t realize how many different minerals are needed to produce alternative energy resources.
“A 5 megawatt wind turbine contains nearly five tons of copper, and solar panels are 60 percent copper,” he said. “Your hybrid carries 78 pounds of copper, while conventional cars only have 42 pounds. There’s a lot more homework out there for people to do.”
According to Heatwole, Pebble will continue its public affairs work throughout the rest of the year, with company representatives visiting communities in order explain the project and its potential.
If this thing went down to .002, I'll cheat, steal, max out all credit cards, might sell one of my kidneys and some of my warm blood to buy more shares.:)
Truth, I remembered what I said and I meant every word. Like I said, I was just venting. The main reason I'm pissed because I have no more powder to throw in at this price. I am new to stock trading but not lack of common sense to realize this is an investment, not a trade. Maybe I should stop checking the daily share price but I will hold on to this one unless one of the conditions I stated in the past is met. I don't need whatever amount I threw in LBSR to live or survive; therefore, I can just leave it in there for decade if I see fit.
People keep talking about NAK is up, gold is up, copper is up, Uranium is up, China is franticly buying copper and gold and then look at us. Damn, can't even push pass $.05. People, it doesn't matter how well NAK does or how expensive gold, copper or Uranium is if LBSR just sit there without saying sh!t. We speculated JV news in October, now is November. Now, we're expecting JV news sometime this month or December. IMO, I don't think we'll see any GOOD news come out from Brisco's mouth until next year. You know as well as I do this stock will sink to .002 if this lack of information continues. The hot months for precious metals stocks are almost over and we're still at .04+. I am not bashing LBSR and you can trust me on this because I am holding a pretty darn good amount of shares. I'm just pissed off !!! Would you pissed off too if your stock kept trading either sideway or down and you know it's a freaking great stock? I'm just venting here...:) See you in dollar(s), my fellow longs.:)) Brisco needs to be more decisive and put a timetable on those who want to participate with LBSR. He needs to realize that he's now the prettiest chick on the block and perhaps in the whole Americas. A pretty, single chick attracts A LOT OF RICH GUYS ... until she gets real old, of course.
That's so true IF Brisco show his face and produce some good news. LBSR might get to sub-penny soon if nothing come out and I mean soon. I'm pissed off now since I have no powder left to throw at this price. Anyway, I know patient is required here. If it took me 2+ months to close on my house, how long do you think it will take to close on something like this? Do you see why we need to be patient here? I will get a nice gift from Brisco either this Christmas or the next. The worse thing you can do for yourself now is letting the daily price beat you up side the head. Be patient my fellow longs. You guys don't need any luck.
A Simplified Way to Compare Drill Results
This article published in MAY2008.
When comparing drill holes, we often simply multiply the width of the mineralized intersections to the value of metals in a tonne of ore to come up with a so-called working comparative value.
For example, the ore found in hole CSD-016 is worth US$60.42 per tonne. Multiply that by the intersection width of 718.75 meters, and you come up with 43,426.875.
This number does not represent a monetary value. Rather we use this number for comparative reasons only.
Now let's compare hole CSD-016's working comparative value to the working comparitive value of hole CSD-015.
As we just mentioned the value of the metal contained in CSD-015 is US$40.93 per tonne. Multiply that by the intersection width of 632.1 meters, and you come up with a working comparative value of 25,871.853, which is significantly lower than hole CSD-016's working comparative value. This would suggest that hole CSD-016 is a better, more highly-valued drill intersection.
