I should apologize to jesss because I couldn't remember that MOPN entered the competition...
What is this acknowledgement from the company that you speak of, and what competition are you referring to? I don't remember this at all.
I do believe it is that Wendy Schmidt event you spoke of---because that name sounds quite familiar. I am certain others can confirm this. It was included in a PR and the announcement did receive a round of applause from the board.
the info he brings to the board is top notch.
Swiger's web presence is appalling! Well, he can't remediate sites online, so... cache versions of some old pages can still be seen:

Should be old news to the "lifers" here, just FYI for the newbies...

Yeah, I know, but... look, they need to find as many different avenues as possible for revenues. That's the reality of the situation.
They can't sit around and wait for government contracts, or oil companies to come calling. Those entities are not necessarily MOPN's friends, although that's where the "big money" is.
How was vaca?

Freight Forwarder Alliances
Marketing Alert: Working with Freight Forwarders and others to generate sales
Bilal Hydrie, of Inclusive Energy in Calgary has developed a strategy that could be very useful to all of us.
Bilal has identified a person who owns a freight forwarding company that is eager to develop some new profit centers for her company. Inclusive Energy has developed a strategic alliance with the company for the development of sales leads with Trucking fleets, auto fleets and shipping fleets.
The company qualifies shippers, trucking companys and fleet managers by exploring whether they are meeting existing regulations regarding spill kits and response plans; if not, making sure that they are aware of the requirements and if yes exploring their willingness to look at saving money by switching their Oil cleanup solutions.
Since there is already an existing relationship, on which the freight company is highly dependent, the companies are eager to discuss this with the freight forwarder, where they might otherwise be reluctant.
Once the forwarder has ascertained their willingness to speak with a MOP rep then she refers them on to Bilal. For every lead that the distributor/sales rep can turn into a sale they pay a commission to the Freight forwarder. Since the forwarder is only paid for sales actually generated Inclusive Energy keeps their overhead low and the forwarder has incentive to generate a well-informed and high quality lead - eager to keep their freight forwarder happy - and perhaps even enhance the amount of freight business they do.
This creativity could be extended to other similar businesses - for example travel agencies that work with airlines, and auto rental fleets.

You still haven't answered the questions...
What is this acknowledgement from the company that you speak of, and what competition are you referring to?
Hey Sammy---I do not have the time to research it right now
LOL!!! No wonder the needle on my BS radar was pinned!
MOP acknowledged their intent to participate in a competition of oil remediation products.
Does anyone know when or where that is to take place.
This X CHALLENGE, announced on July 29, 2010, is a one-year competition that begins on October 27, 2010 and culminates in the fall of 2011, with head-to-head competitive demonstrations taking place at the National Oil Spill Response Research & Renewable Energy Test Facility (OHMSETT) in Leonardo, New Jersey, USA
Imagine the exposure for MOP if they won such a competition. Imagine the bragging rights. And imagine the new investor interest. IMAGINE...

more than fair and an excellent mod.
BEPCO is not part of MOPN.
Charlie has owned and operated it for decades as an independent hydro-electric power plant. That listing is not even new.
In the recent past, it was supposed to be bought and made part of MOPN. That fell through with the Silver Star Capital Holdings debacle.
Then, he was going to transfer the monthly revenues as part of MOPN, but that fell through because of "regulatory issues", etc. Last I heard:
MOPN proposes to continue its 100% “green” hydroelectric power source presently used to power manufacturing. On March 5, 2010 the hydroelectric facility, Bath Electric Power Company (“BEPCO”), received notice from its purchasing utility that its future capacity payment rate will increase to 300% of its present monthly rate beginning on June 10, 2010 (monthly payments are on a 2 month lag and will begin on August 2010). This increase adds a strong financial incentive to expand the hydroelectric plant to its full potential. We have entered into an agreement with Bath Electric Power Company to support the construction of additional hydroelectric generation to triple its capacity.
MOPN is in the process of developing a partnership with Bath Electric Power Company for producing a new Carbon Negative Biomass power plant. The partners have a design and knowledge base for implementation of a number of Carbon Negative Biomass power production plants that can be scaled for use in many sizes suitable for a range of applications from households and small businesses to large municipalities (plants ranging in size from 10 kW electrical production to 10 MW). These facilities would be carbon capturing, capable of helping to reverse Global Warming, producing both power and a soil amendment (fertilizer), which boosts agricultural yields from 200% to 400% over standard fertilizer while bringing multiple revenue streams to our company.
"is this vagueness being done on purpose"?
my real concern going foward is that they strike a deal with SA, put out a vague pr and then followed by little or no movement on the pps.

The analyses, based largely on technical information found in the 200,000-page trial record and relevant studies, found the following damages:
• Soil Remediation: A conservative estimate of potential costs to remediate contaminated soils at all of Chevron’s 378 former oil production facilities in Ecuador ranges from $487 million to $949 million depending on the clean-up standard used. The actual cost could be significantly higher.
• Groundwater Remediation: Based on data in the trial record, the range for clean-up of groundwater is $396 million to $911 million.
• Rivers and wetlands: Data indicates that sediment contamination exists, but no clean-up number was presented pending further investigation.

Reply to PM:
First, a few words of advice: Don't scratch your head, because you might break vacuum! LOL!!! (Kidding... just kidding.)
If I'm right, and MOP-RESCUE equipment is eventually purchased, then I win!
If you're right, and they decide to incinerate the used MOP, or bury it, or ship it to Peru (or eat it, as imperativity has suggested) - well, now what? You still have thousands of hectares to remediate, so... they will purchase more MOP... and I win again! [insert evil laughter here]
Makes sense?
The main problem of this PR is that Charlie does not define, or quantify, the words firm contractual commitments.
The first purchase order has been received for distribution and the first container load is scheduled to leave without delay.
is it fluff?
what happened to the last container that was sent to Ecuador?..was that used for the testing?
After a year of waiting, with numerous delays, such as providing product for independent university testing in Ecuador, and competitive evaluation by environmental response companies who made comparisons to virtually all available oil spill sorbent alternatives for performance and cost
not that word again.
LOL! Hey, I'm a good friend of The Swedish Chef, and I just asked him to re-issue the PR:

"who's showing me the money"
You and I, and mopnupn2010, and Se7eN, and I'm sure everybody else whose IQ is higher than their shoe size should be in agreement.
I would be shocked if no MOP-RESCUE equipment is involved in this PR. Not necessarily in this first shipment, but down the line. That's one of the things that leads me to believe the real value of this contract could increase quickly. Doesn't matter what I think, though.
mopnupn2010, no problem. Conservative estimates are the proper way to do this.
I'm going to take a nice long walk, and think about other things for a while. I'm all MOP'd out.
Later, guys!
In the end, I think (read as: educational guess) this contract will be worth more than $1.65 million, inside of the Ecuador borders alone.
As Se7eN and I pointed out, there could/should be MOP-RESCUE equipment in the mix somewhere.
Outside of its borders, this is validation that the product works as stated, and it should invite more prospects, requests, and eventually contracts at a much faster pace.
Of course, if we get news from Saudi Arabia, we'll all be saying "Ecua-who"? LOL!!!
Oh, I hear you! There could be a six-digit piece of machinery in there, but until the company gives me any details, I have to default to an all-MOP ttl for contract valuation purposes.
Like I said, way too many variables. I don't know what this PR is worth... to the bottom line, anyways.
It's intangible value is priceless, but the market is not willing to pay any premium on that... so far.
Let's see what happens.
Once again, the PR has a few details, but not enough specifics to value the contract(s) properly, and this may be causing some apprehension, if not outright confusion.
We know 1 tractor trailer load retails @ $55,000, and... that's about it!
Are the three companies going to share expenses, so it will be one ttl heading to Ecuador every month? Or will it be three ttls every month? Or is it every two weeks? Every two months?
This ttl is headed from Bath, NH? If so, the profit margin will be better, since it's being done inhouse. Are the rest going to be manufactured inhouse, or do we have a facility in/near Ecuador? Is the price of raw materials in Ecuador higher or lower than the Bath facility?
How many more variables do you want?
At $ 0.07 per share, the market cap is ~ $ 15 million, and so far, Mr. Market is saying "I don't think there is 15 million in this PR, and I'm not paying more than 1x revenue for this stock."
It is what it is. Look, I'm not worried, and I own... what was it again - 30 million shares? LOL!!!
P.S. How is that valuation model working out for you?
Agreed! Great job, Charles!! (EOM)
I'm in! I want the under-18 market. I'm on the phone negotiating the rights to SpongeMOP SquarePants as we speak.
I would have done the same thing in Charlie's shoes. When nobody knows you exist, and one of the three/four largest media networks says you have a chance to be on their evening news, you have to let "the world" know beforehand.
Besides, it's not like MOPN got snubbed. They killed the entire series to run feel-good fluff pieces, remember? At least five companies got screwed!
BTW, don't forget Peru. APDProyectos Cia Ltda also covers that territory. Lots of opportunities there. It's been ~ 9 months. Plenty of time to accomplish something, even in a Latin American banana republic? In addition, Leigh Fibers operates a manufacturing facility there, right? The pieces are on the chessboard, and... collecting dust?
While we're at it - how about the "ongoing efforts in Baku, Azerbaijan"?
What ever happened to the LOI for the forming of a Canadian MOP Manufacturing and Distribution facility?
I could go on and on...
Lots of arrows have been aimed at a multitude of targets. Shotgun blasts have been fired in all directions (including at their own feet). I don't expect that every target is going to get hit, or even a majority of them.
Maybe we hit a target in Saudi Arabia. Let's see if we get a PR, and what it's all about.
Hopefully, it won't be a "... we received a request from Tunisia..." PR.
waiting for the news from Ecuador
double teamed by Electrum and Sammy the Bull
That test was planned months in advance. You don't really think that they waited until the last moment to purchase a tractor trailer load (or two) of MOP to conduct "preliminary testing" with it on an oil spill in an important Egyptian port, do you?
Common sense, logic, and reason tell me "No".
Sorry, but I have to call 'em like I see 'em.
See what I mean, shauno? LOL!!! (EOM)
