It's interesting to see that people are already talking about the BBC piece!

It was natural for a conference call type thing. But it wasn't conversational, it sounded like a commercial.

Content was solid, but it wasn't natural. Big money investors can smell the over promising. I think it could get some little bites though.

There's a lot more that we don't know relative to what we do. Lots of bad information out there from people jumping to conclusions. Better safe than dead.

1) Child gets Covid-19 because schools are a cesspool. Maybe you don't have kids, but they're gross and they catch everything.

2A) Child shows no symptoms

OR

2B) Child develops debilitating vascular syndrome, which requires ICU treatment in a majority of cases.

3) Child goes home to adult parents/grandparents.

4) People die.

Try to ignore the silliness that was the press conference and consider this:

'Essentially pure spider silk' is not the end of the line, but rather has now become the new Step 1.

They have the ability to add (effectively) any reasonably sized protein to the concoction. Mix and match. Different properties. Custom fibers for custom needs.

I think Kim overplayed the 'pure SS' angle, and expected a LOT more attention because of it. We can tell from the share price that it was a miscalculation, but don't let it distract you from the point of the message. Custom, not biomimicry.

Of course I do agree with you (and mojo) that eventually Kim needs to stop tweaking, pick a strain to ramp up, and find a large-scale customer.

Ya know, I think it's really all about the system. Because Kim has hitched his wagon to (and honed his methods for) silkworms, there just isn't a lot of medically-relevant things you could produce efficiently from them OTHER than silk (which could easily be imbued with medical properties).

Certainly the tech of KBLB could be gently modified to work for other species, but research on vertebrates is a LOT trickier to pull off in scale over inverts. Maybe if he found some big fat grub or worm that could excrete something nice...

I have no inside information, but my reading of the tea leaves puts the EUA closer to 5/1. I agree with your post, in that I think we get updates first, then a knockout blow in a week or so.

Could see a dip from folks that haven't done DD and expect EUA. The FDA would announce before DECN, so I think that's coming down the road. As much as I hate to humor hand-waving guesses, I do have a sneaking suspicion that Trump actually knows about the DECN test.

1) Create cassette with instructions for desired protein(s)

2) Include RNAi that slices up native silkworm RNA (same code all the time , part of the basic cassette construct)

Tomorrow is a critical day with respect to my feelings towards Kim's ability to steer this ship with shareholders in any semblance of mind.

You had your press release, and it begs for follow-up news on a near weekly basis to gather some real interest. Surely all the things mentioned individually in the press conference could be their own PRs:

- 'We developed an immunity cocktail, that does XYZ'
- 'We co-expressed silk along with peptides that do XYZ'
- 'We made near-pure spider silk, and here are new strength and tension measurements'

If there's nothing, that tells me that Kim and Co. really didn't have any sense of a plan with respect to that press conference. It's not something I'd sell my shares over, but it would really push my needle towards the 'Just walk away and check the PPS every 3 months'. That's no fun...
