It used to be "To Da Moon!"
Now it's "To Da Earth's Core!"

Well said, Mortgage. Good post.
Thanks, Dog!
FYI, I believe the judge is a she.
If you're a fan of the show "Law and Order" use Ameritrade. That way, you can see Sam Waterston's mug every time you log on.
Absolutely correct.
Yes, exactly. We're still awaiting for big news, but hopefully, this will allieviate some of the extreme movements down.
Great call.
Yeah, it's best not to get too emotionally involved in sports teams or stocks.
cubsfan,
Could not agree with you more. As a newbie to this site, it brings into sharp focus the manic/depressive state that investors can whip themselves into.
I'm not saying that the stock can't evaporate in value - but I'm prepared for it. You/we/they know we're all taking a chance, so just calm down, and stick with it until the news hits.
BTW, if there were big run-ups in the price of the stock BEFORE the big news, I would actually more suspicious.
Say Hey!

OK, thanks, mortgage. Best of luck to you!

How do you know it was a SINGLE entity that bought millions in shares? Why could it not have been thousands of small fry like ourselves?
Hi Mortgage!
Whoever has those deep pockets have pockets even deeper than you think. WAMUQ is probably just one of many "speculative" plays that it has going on. Just like you and me, they don't put all their eggs in one stock. They might even believe that the odds are not so good, but like us, think that the upside potential is great, like any penny stock. It's all a weighted average probability thing that I'm sure they've got all figured out.
Take care, good luck.
Brhams
rheddle,
I must say your arguments about "support" get really stale. Every level we've been at over the last 2-3 weeks, you say the same thing - that the support is strong - and yet the pps continues to fall.
I really don't care that the pps falls, actually, as I'm not concerned with these day-to-day changes. I'm in to the end with this stock, like you I presume, hoping for big news. So I think it would be more fruitful to concentrate on the larger, "macro" potential positives (the judge, the buyout possibility, the firm that was hired to assess the assets vs. liabilities. etc.) rather than "support" (or clearly, lack thereof).
Respectfully,
Brahms
Well said. Thanks Rhodes. And thanks to krisl, too.
Hi krisl,
I thought you were somewhat down on this stock. Or maybe just not insanely optimistic?
Thanks,
Brahms

Hi Josh,
To me, an outside observer, this was certainly the most persuasive pessimistic post. The buying by the institutional investors, on the other hand, represents, to me, the most persuasive optimistic viewpoint. What's your take on the institutional buying?
Thanks,
Brahms
(Larry)
wouldn't they show up as one of the top institutional holders on romang's list?
Is that Morgan Stanley?
I contacted Oakmark Select. They said they have no holdings of Washington Mutual.
Hi Monk,
Sorry about not being clear about which post I was talking about.
Please see romang's post number 26383.
My question relates to the $ amounts for each institutional and mutual fund holder. Those amounts can't be the CURRENT $ value of the WAMUQ shares that each holds. So is it the total amount that each has spent up to this point for all those shares?
Thanks,
Brahms
Post number 26383
Can someone explain to me what the dollar numbers mean in romang's post?
Specifically, for each holder, what does the $ amount represent? Surely it's not the CURRENT value of the shares that each holds. Is it the amount that they've actually spent on this stock up to this point?
Thanks,
Brahms
Monk,
Could you or anyone else answer the question I asked in post 26655?

Spain,
Your spelling is fine, but check your math on both the 70% and 85% scenarios. Also, you mis-typed 2.35 - should be 4.35 - on the 70% scenario.
Brahms
That is a good point. Response tall?
Thanks to all who respond. Your patience with my newbie questions is appreciated.
I mean, if we truly believe that this stock is going to fly, and we don't care (in hindsight) about whether we bought it at $0.069 vs. $0.97 vs. $0.115, why should the big players care either? Everyone says they're manipulating to keep the price down, but it seems extremely short-sighted to obsess over these 1/10 penny amounts, even with large blocks. I mean, it's a fantastic rate of return either way, right?
Thanks,
Brahms
Well, we all certainly hope so. That's why I'm not sure I understand the obsession with the Bid/Ask breaking through these $.001 increments? I'm not being sarcastic, but I just don't see the connection between these movements and a harbringer of news to come.
Thanks,
Brahms
Being a newbie, is it not unusual for stocks like these to go through fairly long periods of being moribund. Then (we hope) that the paddles are applied and the patient's heart is jump-started quite dramatically?
thanks,
Brahms
Actually, I just noticed that the stat refreshes along with the other stuff. Now 65.31% lol.
thanks.
Hello all,
There's a lot of talk about how those with mega$ have been quietly buying up shares in anticipation of something big to happen in the not-too-distant future. Can this be verified? Ameritrade says that 65.19% of WAMUQ's stock is held by institutional investors. Does anyone have any stats as to how this has changed over the last few days or weeks? That to me would be a most bullish signal.
Thanks,
Brahms
Or people screaming "PUSH!" at the precipice of every tenth of a penny increment.
Very funny, Alice!
Trader,
I enjoy your posts particularly. Your arguments are quite persuasive, reassuring, and articulate. No offense to the others, but the "to the moon!" stuff gets really annoying.
I joined iHub to get reasoned, dispassionate writings, and you've been great.
(You too, Monkish).
Thanks,
