Thanks srv90.It looks like that worked.BTW I didnt have anything valuable in the folder when I dumpted it so probably why I was quick to do it.
Using vista.I downloaded a nasty in an MP3 file. One of my "fixes" was to delete my entire music folder. Now I cant find how to reinstall the folder. When I click START and the various programs and folders are displayed, when I right click on MUSIC there are three choices.Copy, rename and properties.None of them do anything now.So....MUSIC is empty. How do I put a folder back there.
I am not going back for the old folder with system restore or something. The nasty thing was a mugger that wanted money and I am not going there.
You are right but some things need more than 20sec.That monitor was absolutely dead but I reconnected it after several hours and it started right up.
The monitor belongs to a friend and they leave it on 24/7 and I wonder if they would get more mileage if they used sleep mode?
LCD Monitor Compaq WF1907 .After rebooting the puter the monitor refused to work.It is dead.Worked on all the connections.Nothing.I then connected an old CRT monitor and it works. So my question is...is there anything more I can do for the LCD?Do they have an internal fuse?I cant see any way to take the back off.
This isnt likely to happen for us,but it is possible.
Diedrich Coffee (DDRX) -- YTD Return: 9,700%. Who would have thought a coffee company could deliver such astronomical returns? Since going public in 1996, shares of Diedrich Coffee has spent most of their time trading under $5 per share. Shares reached an all-time low of 21 cents per share in March of this year before skyrocketing to over $35.
If a cleaner does mess up your registry, will a system restore get it back?
I use crap cleaner a lot,and Iobit often.
I continue to regard LTC as our main chance.I think some CC announcement has the potential to spike our shares but I think it is years away from deployment. On the other hand,LTC should be deployed by now and it isnt.Is there some aspect that we have failed to take into account? And we need something before La Jolla (or someone we dont even know about)strike.

You have too much stuff running in the background
That happens to the best of us.
Open Task manager and compare each process with this list: http://www.tasklist.org/
Then shut down each one you don't need in either MSCONFIG, if it is a program, or Services.msc if it is a service. Both of those are opened by typing them into the Run box in your start menu.
My personal favorite is Jusched.exe. That is Java Update. Why would you want a program running at all times that checks every 10 seconds or so for a Java update that only comes around once every 6 months or so?
Its a scam stock.Stay away.
Maddogs, would silica be the basic material for Sayaris process?
Thanks.I knew it would be simple, just couldnt think where to look. And with a touchpad,I never thought of mouse settings.
Help.Using Vista. When moving the screen cursor on my laptop the page scrolls when I dont want it to.I am using K-Meleon browser and cant find any settings to change in it but I suspect its somewhere else because....playing card games the cards stick and a double arrow thingy appears at the cursor.......using google earth things start moving when I dont want them to.
Can anyone suggest where to look to turn off scrolling settings?
Thanks maddogs.I look forward to any info you can post.Ninja pointed out that the limestone treatment could be energy expensive.I googled "what are amines".I did not do well at school with chemistry and I was unable to see what basic material might be used in CSMG's CCT.So while we wait for action we could ponder a few things. What will the basic material cost? Will it be safe and easy to ship and work with? How much energy will it require?
Thanks, hope you are in the ball park with the cost guess. The people developing the limestone process claim they have found a way to recycle the limestone 100 times.
http://www.irl.cri.nz/newsandevents/mediareleases/discoverypaveswayforindustrialuseofcarboncapturetechnology.aspx
Any idea what the cost of Amines is?There is a competitor that uses lime/limestone .They claim to capture 85% of smokestack carbon.Any idea what % our process can capture?
And the competitor says carbon STORAGE is a problem that has not been solved.
Yes,and everyone believes it is so easy to store CO2.Just find a big old hole and pump it down there and it will all go down there nicely and stay put no problem.
Wasn't it reported that DR personally obtained Greenblatts "financial instrument"?Seems to me that if the company issued shares to Greenblatt, then the company owns the instrument?
IMO....I just don't think he has a successful product(s).
Jagman,or anyone.Do you have any specific reasons why you think LTC will not fly?
For myself,I wonder if it is a bit like asking Detroit to dump the internal combustion engine. There is too much infrastructure, too much inertia, for change to take place.
Good point!
Wow!A three time loser.
I keep wondering why he did the La Jolla deal.Such a big amount of trouble for such a small amount of cash.I wonder if he actually had a sales deal that he thought had a good chance and therefore worth the risk with the "bridging"finance?
Yes,I also am wondering what La Jolla are doing. You can bet they havent just gone away.We must hope they can be "stalled" until DR gets a deal going.
Yep,what you said.
Yep,thats what happened to me also.So I went to Avira.Have to look at Avira's popup after it updates but thats ok.
I think the AV programers are slowly making it harder to "find" the free version.Every step of the download and instal you have to look carefully if you are making the right move.If you cant get avast to work, try Avira.
Thanks tc ,but same result. That is an Alps driver on the dell site but when I download it ,it arrives on my puter as "dell download manager",and it wont open and instal.
Should I go looking for a program to open files?Do you know any free ones that can open a wide range of files?
Thanks for your help Mike.I am probably a hopeless klutz.I went to the dell site and entered my service tag and they correctly identified my puter.I selected the driver I wanted and hit download. What I got was something different. Its called "dell download manager".When I try to open it my puter says it doesnt know what program to open it with.It directs me to a microsoft site to down load something called net framework.then it tells me net framework will not instal because I dont have something else installed.
So far the cursor is only playing up for a few minutes when the puter is cold when it is started.Maybe it wont get worse.
No,thats the weird thing. No mention of the touchpad anywhere. The only thing I can find is PS2 mouse and I have never used a mouse of any kind.
Originaly that stuff was in the bios and I fixed the wandering cursor by disabling it there. But with this new HD format,it is just not there.
Its a Dell Inspiron 8200.
Would the reason the pointing device doesnt show in the bios be because I have no driver installed? After I formatted the new HD I fired up the puter and the display was a small square in the middle of the screen. So I inserted the Dell disc and installed the video driver and nothing else.(all the dell bloatware is also on that disc and I dont want that).Since then the puter has run well until this cursor thing started again.I thought that not haveing the driver installed would be the same as disabling it.Am I wrong?
Its weird how there can be so much difference in the same operating system. My laptop with XP has a wandering cursor. There is lots of info on this problem and the fix is to disable the pointing stick in the middle of the keyboard.Well this device does not show up anywhere on my puter. Not in the bios. Not in the device manager. Not anywhere in the control panel.
Knotless wound closure: Suture choice can cut time, cost
February 9, 2009
By Bruce Jancin
PHOENIX (EGMN) – Time is money. And with operating room time running $30 per minute or more at many hospitals, some cosmetic surgeons are switching from the hallowed traditional stitching techniques to considerably faster knotless means of wound closure.
Two novel technologies that garnered favorable reviews in studies presented at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery were the Quill bidirectional barbed suture and 3M’s Steri Strip S device.
D…
You may be right but I can find no evidence on my puter or instal disk.I believe I got the puter in 2002.I went back to MS updates ,using IE ,but it wouldnt show me anything. They put up a sign saying "this site uses active X".I think I have that blocked.
I recently put a new hard drive in my old laptop.I used the original XP disc that came with the puter. When I went looking for SP2 I couldnt find it by its self.Looked like you had to take SP3 as well.So I decided to leave it and run XP ,sort of nekid, and see what happened. Its been a few weeks and nothing horrible has happened yet.
First make sure you have some restore points left.Make one if you dont. Then try this
Start
search
all files and folders
enter adobe flash in the search field
Look carefully at what is found and maybe right click and delete.
Main risk might be to screwup adobe reader.
Maybe you should uninstal it first and reinstal later.
Or get Foxit instead .
Ace utilities is free to try. That might sort it for you.
This is just something for you to try untill the real aces here reply.
tc,if you went back to ie7 you would also need to make sure automatic updates was turned off otherwise microsoft would just instal ie8 again?
Thanks for the tip about jusched .
Yahoo finance says the share price is 10cents.
Yep,I second all that.I have an 8 year old laptop running XP on 382Mb RAM.It does pretty good but I have to keep it clean.Windows care is a free program that does a pretty good job.
http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html
I also like crap cleaner as it is so fast.
I would like more RAM but, as others have said, its hard to justify investing in such an old puter.
I got a friend who complains that her IE stopped working about 3 days ago but firefox works fine.
I cant see how it does any good to harass and defame DR at this point in the game.
Its obvious he cant tell you anything material that he doesnt release to everyone at the same time.
