No problem, I guess I wasn’t following all of your posts. IMHO, I think Denner & Holt are working hard to wright the ship.
Geez, give it a rest willya? Denner and company is still cleaning up the mess from the previous “inept” management scum bags.
The Cardinals had 2 First Round picks. The chose Marvin Harrison WR and Darrius Robinson DL. Robinson’s momma didn’t look too happy, when Phoenix was announced. 120 degrees in summer. Awful long commute from Detroit. I really like the look of Robinson. Reminded me of Mean Joe Green. Tall and lean, quick too.
So much talent out there. You got Jared Verse.
? Didn’t Publish it? All proposals were approved. Including stock incentives.
Hi Joe,
Ever think about going back and being a “consultant?” I’m sure whoever called you needs your expertise? All you have to do is walk around with a clipboard or a laptop and oversee the job?
As for restaurants in the Phoenix area. There’s no shortage. Me and the missus enjoy going to an “All you can eat” sushi restaurant. For $20 each you can’t beat it. Las Vegas and Volcano rolls are our favorites.
The street where I live is lined with mini food trailers that people have converted. So, there’s no shortage of food options. Mostly Mexican food. There’s one though I’m curious about, it’s a “Crepe” trailer. Unusual, I think I’m gonna have to try it…
Hey Joe, you’d enjoy this. I had to go back to work at the Power Plant. Lots and lots of activity that you would appreciate.
Replacing Low Pressure Feedwater Heaters and Turbine work. Right up your alley.
At 72, I’m feeling it, 12 hour shift work is hard on the old bones. I’m happy that I’m still able to keep up with these kids. And so them a few things.
Good one Joe, BLTs, now there’s a good sammich.
How’s it going? Any good restaurants in Colorado Springs?
Nuke
Tilapia is a cichlids, Carp are ciphrinids? not related to Tilapia. Both are pretty good to eat. Their meat is white.
My source was a woman I work with. Also, another man at work says his wife started taking it and has been increasing her dosage. It’s like a Coca Cola addiction. It may not be noticeable at first until you stop drinking it.
I’m sure these drug companies don’t want you to know what’s in their products.
I don't know if this has been discussed on this board or not? I've heard rumors that weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy has trace amounts of methamphetamine in it? That people taking it become addicted to it (Ozempic, Wegovy) by taking more and more everyday. I also didn't know these drugs were injected subcutaneously. If this is true, shame on you FDA for approving these drugs.
North; so what’s your saying is the little blue pill isn’t just for “boners?”
Frankly, I never did like taking Viagra, because when you get done you’re still hard for a couple of hours.
Never thought about the increased blood flow to other organs?
You might be unto something…!!
Mr Stockboy, really great post. You’re absolutely correct, Amarin hasn’t done all it can to promote Vascepa. It’s like the Chevrolet truck commercials with the tool box gimmicks. Really? Someone is going to toss an 80 lb toolbox unto the bed of their truck to see if they can dent the bed? Are you serious? And on prime time TV no less. I own a Ford F-250, best vehicle I’ve ever owned bar-none… You can’t beat quality and safety.
Amarin is and always has lacked in promoting Vascepa. Conversely however, any advertising only benefits the generics. Sadly the medical community has bought into prescribing generics over quality. If only more clinicians would understand and refuse to give into the insurance companies then Vascepa sales would reflect that.
Ditto what Ramfan said. It’s about time Amarin gets someone intelligent to oversee the proceedings. Patent law background and an Engineer to boot.
We shouldn’t be dancing in the aisles just yet, but with her credentials, it would appear that Amarin may have a chance here…
Anik; Hence, the "Perfect Storm." What's really disturbing is that a single "untrained' judge was misguided by said perpetrator (Hikma) who sneakily cropped a valuable piece of information (table). On top of which Amarin's expensive lawyer couldn't respond (deer in headlights). And what about the US Patent Office? How could an uninformed judge overturn precedence set by a much smarter organization than the US Patent Office? I've seen no response as to the US Patent Office rebuttal? You would think the USPTO would have stepped in here somewhere? Nada, zilch... Then the Appeals process (twice) shot down Amarin's Appeal.
Unbelievable. I'm still shaking my head just thinking about it. It's like a concerted effort is being applied to destroy a small company, so the industry can usurp Amarin's hard earned formulation.
Let's not forget the efforts of the Nissen's, Herpers and Fuerstein's hit pieces, timed at precisely the right moments. One awsh*t wipes out a 1000 Attaboys.
Called my Humana health insurance man this past week. Open enrollment for Medicare Advantage Plans closes March 31.
Anyway; I asked about insurance coverage for Vascepa/ Vazkepa from another insurance company. Aetna was the only provider he could get me that covered Vascepa apparently at tier 4 (ridiculous). At a cost (copay) for around $240 for 90 days. However, Aetna allows 100 day scripts.
Nice, but no cigar…Humana still wins @ $90 copay for 90 days.
Even with all these upcoming presentations at the ACA I wouldn’t expect them to move to needle very much. It’s a crying shame really. Such a great therapeutic drug with essentially no safety issues. Still being referred to as a “Fish Oil.”
I especially like the phrase used with the aspirin (eating a hole in your gut) studies that says…”additional studies are needed.”
Thanks capt; Germany better get it's act together, according to your graphic Statin + Ezetimibe has the worst efficacy of any combo. All because of a F'up by Karim & Company
Wow, a different doctor in the same practice? Good for you. I tell the same thing to people all the time, switch your doctors. Hopefully, these doctors get together for lunch and discuss your prognosis? Word of mouth is slow, but effective. Thanks for posting.
If this happens in my industry we would be in deep trouble. No Peer groups in the Medical Field obviously. Even though we have numerous Associations like the AHA. Nothing makes doctors accountable unless it's for malpractice? Incredible.
Preaching to the choir; Vascepa needs to become a standard of care for the industry. It obviously has not and gone on deaf ears.
Question is; What does AD & Company do about it? Sell Vascepa to people (countries) who listen. As the US market doctors are allowed to do or prescribe whatever they want.
You are correct Capt; There are no OTC "prescription only" EPA drugs. they do say; "no over the counter omega-3 products are available in the US." They don't say the rest of the world? What befuddles me is, with all the information and proven science behind EPA, a large population of the medical community just doesn't get it? My PCP is a registered nurse practitioner, yet she gets it? Where did all those doctors who don't buy-in get their education? A major push needs to start at the Academic level. Educate the young medical professionals, i.e. Harvard, Loyds Barber Shop....

Abstract
The omega-3 fatty acid eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) has multiple actions potentially conferring cardiovascular benefit, including lowering serum triglyceride (TG) and non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (non-HDL-C) levels and potentially reducing key steps in atherogenesis. Dietary supplements are a common source of omega-3 fatty acids in the US, but virtually all contain docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in addition to EPA, and lipid effects differ between DHA and EPA. Contrary to popular belief, no over-the-counter omega-3 products are available in the US, only prescription products and dietary supplements. Among the US prescription omega-3 products, only one contains EPA exclusively (Vascepa); another closely related prescription omega-3 product also contains highly purified EPA, but is approved only in Japan and is provided in different capsule sizes. These high-purity EPA products do not raise low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels, even in patients with TG levels >500 mg/dL, in contrast to the increase in LDL-C levels with prescription omega-3 products that also contain DHA. The Japanese prescription EPA product was shown to significantly reduce major coronary events in hypercholesterolemic patients when added to statin therapy in the Japan EPA Lipid Intervention Study (JELIS). The effects of Vascepa on cardiovascular outcomes are being investigated in statin-treated patients with high TG levels in the Reduction of Cardiovascular Events With EPA-Intervention Trial (REDUCE-IT).
Amarin needs to sponsor more studies (powerful ones) at selected Universities. Provide Grant money, as that's apparently what it takes. Spend money (wisely) to make money. IMHO, the University of Wisconsin wasn't the best place to do the BRAVE study? U of W isn't even listed in the top schools across the US for Alzheimers research
https://www.alzheimers.net/alzheimers-dementia-research-centers-organizations
"The underlying problem with icosapent ethyl is educating the medical community on it's benefits." (IMHO) and based upon several friends who had tried to get a prescription for Vascepa. Hence the problems with trying to sell a misunderstood drug.
I've been staying at a friends house while out of town. His wife has TGs of around 225. Plus she has issues with diabetes (overweight), I didn't want to pry into her medical history. But I told her she was a candidate for Vascepa who she had heard about it through her husband (my friend). She did ask her doctor about Vascepa, but the doctor was not convinced of Vascepa's efficacy. Her doctor apparently was not educated enough or did not believe or better still understand the benefits of pure EPA. He suggested for her to take regular Fish oil capsules. I educated her on the benefits I received while on Vascepa. It's kind of a tough sell, I don't know what Amarin is going to do about convincing the medical community. It's not only the medical community but the schools of higher learning (U of W). Vascepa has a "Label' on it and that label is a lot of people think it's Fish oil, plain and simple.
I've heard similar stories from several folks, where their doctors said basically the same thing... "Vascepa is Fish oil, you can buy it over the counter much cheaper."
It will require a Big effort by Amarin or whoever (in our hope) buys Amarin if that's what happens.... to re-educate the World. I don't see a lot of companies who have stepped up here. "In Denner We Trust."
ram; I feel your pain... Like when Kurt Warner or Larry Fitzgerald retired. For acute cases of depression, I would say Bourbon works best. Vascepa is better for chronic depression. You my friend have an acute case. Maybe even a couple doobers to go along with that bottle of Ol Grandad.

Nice, thanks DMC. At least they didn't refer to Vascepa as "Fish Oil" like our institutions of Higher Learning (U of W) did in the BRAVE study.
These kids.... :D(
Dang Ram; whathca gonna do now? Aaron Donald was a Monster. There goes the Rams Defense. To replace him there's team chemistry to think about.
You know what really irks me about the negativity surrounding this stock buyback? Companies do this all the time, especially small caps.
In order to provide incentives perhaps? which no one really knows wtf Amarin will do with the “unretired” shares. Sell them later for a profit perhaps? Who’s saying that the management will be lining their pockets with these shares?
All this mumbo jumbo sounds like a short attack strategy spreading rumors is being perpetrated by none other than the big brokerage firms.
Please Show me where it says anything about the shares being used for employee incentives or executive compensation?
Why not think of it this way. It’s a very good idea to take 50-60 million shares off the market. Hold them until such time that the market recovers (thanks to Biden). Then sell the shares, just like a good investor would do?
What happened to “Denner We Trust?”
Hoopster; the only part I believe is your Biden statement…that was “spot on”
A little bit irritated are we? That Amarin is making some moves to recapture the US market with the LR-EPA? Say it isn't so Batman.
Didn't see that coming.... So, where's the shareholder value? It's comin round the bend sweetheart.
Can't wait to hear from the peanut gallery about the "Executive Incentive Package." When Amarin rises from the ashes, their compensation will be money well worth spent. Too many good things on the horizon. This $50M stock buy back should put the PPS above $1 for good.
Voted my proxy unanimously for all proposals. Go get em Patrick. I'm liking that Amarin wants to recapture the US market. The biggest drug market on the planet.
Rose; Almost the same story with my daughter. Except when she was 3, I’d bought her $2700 worth of Netflix stock priced at $9.35. I sold it a couple months later for $9.65.
NFLX split 7:1 at around $700. Well, you get the picture… :D(
She could have gone to Harvard versus Arizona State. Little rich kid 🧒
Your probably wondering what I did with the proceeds from selling NFLX? Do you need to know or can you guess? I did reinvest it.... 😔
always; I’m a firm believer in things happen for a reason. The purpose for my post this morning was just that…shoulda, woulda, coulda…
I’m still a believer in the science of EPA.
I obviously believed in it through the years and I still believe in it. There’s “irony” in this belief it just hasn’t presented itself yet.
You’re spot on with Denner. He’s sees the value. I can’t fathom why nobody (deep pockets) wants this drug in their pipeline.
Our day will come, I feel it…
(OT), since NVDA and Amarin comparisons have been bantered about. Does anyone care for a real true to life horror story?
NVDA hit a high today if $958.92. Back in 2019, I’d bought 790 shares of NVDA in my ROTH IRA account for around $148 a share. I sold my shares and bought AMRN shares thinking it would recover.
NVDA proceeded to escalate to around $700 or so and then did a 4:1 stock split. Then it has continued to escalate up to today’s price range. Unbelievable…
I did a quick calculation. Had I held my NVDA shares my Roth account would be valued at over $3 million USD. This is a true story.
Lessons learned here is, don’t fall in love with a stock that has an unstable, unsure market strategy. This was back when JT was still running things. Then Karim and his henchmen. Now all that’s left is my hope that Denner and Company will be able to pull Amarin back from the ashes.
That’s pretty sad indeed. I’m forced to go back to work after being retired for almost 4 years.
Lizzy, Humana/ Centerwell do not offer a 100 day script. I tried, and I don't know why they don't.
Lizzy;
$32.30 for Generic 30 days. I can get Brand Vascepa for $90, 90 days.
https://costplusdrugs.com/medications/icosapent-ethyl-0_5g-capsule-vascepa/
DAR; I have Medicare Advantage Plan through Humana. I'm not sure what the current copay is for Vascepa? The last time I ordered a 90 day supply my copay it cost me $90. I opted to use Centerwell (mail order) Pharmacy.
BTW, I'm very happy with Humana as they essentially have everything covered. Dental, Optical, Gym membership, free Jeep Tours and pony rides. And Hotdogs on the weekends. :D)

North; The only article I had trouble with is this one DMC posted.https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10557-023-07519-z#Tab3
It states that if you accept all cookies your personal information gets posted into social media. I'm very leery of Accepting cookies. I did not read all the articles DMC posted.
I am reading the United Arab Emirates article. Very impressed. I was able to Manage cookies and reject all. Now the article came up fine. Thanks.
Reading this article, I can't for the life of me understand how the medical community prescribes a Generic over Vascepa.
"Conclusion
Importantly, IPE has been endorsed by 20 international medical societies as a statin add-on treatment in patients with dyslipidemia and high CV risk. Robust medical evidence supports IPE as a pillar in the management of dyslipidemia."
I'm kinda bummed about the marijuana article. I grew six (6) plants this past summer. Bumper crop too. :D(
Great, then maybe you should cut & paste the articles for the rest of us to read. All I said was I don't care to try and get around Cookies. I already have enough spam mail.
BTW, thanks for trying DMC.
Are those Walnuts or Pecans? :D)
Sorry DMC; I don’t care much for links that make you select “Accept all cookies.”
Spain seems much more “progressivo”than UK or any of the other Western European nations.
Been watching videos on Spanish wine history and industry. Awesome.
Brits make better beer however. Including the Irish. I’d kill for a pint of Guinness from St James Gate.
