Question. Can you purchase 100 shares from 1 broker, then turn around and sell the 100 thru a 2nd (different) broker ? This might be necessary if the first broker was down to technical problems.
Not so bro. Smart guys (pre-mkt) boys have taken PPS from $198.30 to $199.23 from 8:02 AM to 8:30 AM. Might be a good time to take a small call option position. Make that $199.75 @ 8:42 AM.
Clay, Please ask Ma'Quan Dawkins what the PPS of the underlying was when he bought the .03 calls. Then ask what the PPS of the underlying was when he sold them for $2.99. Also please have Mr. Dawkins confirm the company name STI is the symbol for. Thanx
Gary. Bought 1 contract for $257.00. Sold it later for $816.00 for a
317.5 % return. You can buy & sell both puts & calls depending on which way you expect the underlying to go. The potential of options makes penny stock trading a non entity. Risk is minimal. PPS goes against you, just sell & take a small loss. Investopedia recommend Ally Invest, E Trade & TD Ameritrade as excellent options brokers.
I use BMO Investorline here in Canada.
FB.... $190.00 strike calls. 4 banger since 6 AM this morning !!!!!
Yo Pinto. Is there a board on the Hub that just discusses the vagaries of stock options ? I'd like to see the pros & cons of this most interesting facet of the markets. Thanks in advance bro.
Penny stocks - exercise in futility IMO. EG MSFT options. MSFT trading at $97.76. The $95.50 put options trading at .38 bid, .41 ask.Within 10 mins, MSFT PPS went down to $96.67. Bid went to .71 & ask to .74 This means you could have bought at .41, then sold at .71.You're looking at an increase of 73.17 % increase within minutes. That's incredible. Options - the only way to go !!!!!!!
Ed, not necessarily. Explain why, at times, the price of the call option goes up while the PPS of the underlying goes down. I've been following the $95.50 call strikes for MSFT. See for yourself. Plug in MSFT & watch as the PPS of the underlying goes up & down, then watch the option prices change accordingly. Option prices go up when they should be going down, then they go down when they should be going up, then they move in the correct direction that the PPS of the underlying calls for. Most perplexing. I'm using MarketWatch's option chain.
Gentlemen. How is it that the price of a call option, at times, goes down when the PPS of the underlying goes up ? In other words, the spread between the strike call option cost & the underlying's price increases, yet the price of the option goes down. It makes no sense.
ACHV up 31.5 % pre-mkt. Their smoking cessation drug Cystine getting high 5'S due to Cystine's new formulation.
GERN getting hammered pre-mkt due to bad press from Johnson & Johnson. "Put" candidate perhaps.
jimr. To go along with previous 3 reverse splits.
1. 1 for 30 24 Feb 2015
2. 1 for 35 02 Aug 2016
3. 1 for 200 22 May 2917.
Sterling record........ NOT !!!!!!
How many times has this sucker split ? I recall 1 for 35 back when or am I dreaming.
Good old APS days. Guys sat there panting waiting for their next recommend.
Bro. If you bought the puts at the same time as you covered ur calls, you're up big time as we speak. Way to go. Lovin' it .....
playing both sides of the street. Options.... only way to go.
Underlying means price of the stock when u bought.
rlee. What was the PPS of the underlying when you bought and how much did you pay per contract ? Which platform are you using ?
MarketWatch chain only goes to $9.00 Dec puts.
A, I assume you are going to purchase puts then ... yes ?
Which platform are you using to get the chain ? I use MarketWatch.
Dollar. What expiry date did you go with ? What strike price did you choose & how much did you expend per contract ?
Check with FINVIZ.
Ya never know. Good on you. PPS goes down you'll make bank. Good traders play both sides o' the street.
Have a stop in place. Prob solved.
Anybody buy any calls on this beauty? Underlying price good but calls are fantastic.
Short selling penny stocks.

Gary. So begs the question "How do you make money on a declining penny stock issue" ? Is it possible ? All I can see is you're forced to sell declining pennies to protect urineself .... yes ?
You are as good a penny guru as there is. So, how does a guy protect against big penny losses in a case like this ? Dump the issue as soon as you can (if possible) or what ? You & I have tangled on penny stock liquidity before.
Gary. Not necessarily. Short the sucker or sell calls or buy puts (if you can) as soon as the split news comes out.
NBEV up 14.5 % this AM on rumours of a Coca Cola takeover !!
NBEV is optionable. Open interest stands at 8287 on the $2.50 calls.
Shorty (PUTS) here. PPS down this AM. Lovin' it. When will those longs ever learn !! 2 way street schreplock !!
Compatibility issues.... I'll defer to that. Now, how about the $250.00 price tag vs FREE ?
Not on our radar you say ?? Others are going to pay $250.00 for a gizmo that only costs $10.00 to make ? Just too many FREE apps out there for Steve to compete with as well.
See where Chevy just announced the launch of their new distracted driving app. They are calling it "Call Me Out". No mention made of
Bsafe Mobile. Writing on the wall perchance ?
Nope, but I made good $$$ on FRED.
IZEA (NASDAQ) up 51% pre-mkt.
Clay. As an aside, O'Leary never buys any stock that does not pay a divy !! Guy is awesome to listen to as well. Made his millions when he sold a child's learning app.
NLST (NASDAQ) 165.96 % gainer y'day. Up another 23% already this AM.
NLST. (NASDAQ) Up 78.7 % pre-mkt.
AMD hitting new highs. Strategy - sell puts. Guys who sell premium way ahead of going long.
