Textiles 2015: More Improvement Ahead
-All signs point to a brighter future for the U.S. textile and apparel industries.
Robert S. Reichard, Economics Editor-
There's a mention of Monster Silk within this article from Textile World:
http://www.textileworld.com/Issues/2015/_2014/Features/Textiles_2015-More_Improvement_Ahead
Excerpt from article:
Innovation: The Name Of The Game
Meantime, the ongoing drive to come up with new and better performing products also is helping propel the industry forward. And once again, it’s a virtually across-the-board effort — running all the way from basic fibers to final consumer and business products.
The aim is not only to increase sales, but also take advantage of the fact that, with the recession behind us, consumers now are more willing to upgrade to improved and often more expensive products. No surprise then over the ever-growing number of innovations aimed at increasing comfort, performance, safety and even ecological correctness.
Zeroing in on fibers first: While products involving cotton are in the forefront of these developments, most other constructions now are also offering a spate of improved offerings. Wool is a prime example here, as new merino types hit the market offering a durable, as well as ultrasoft, fiber that’s virtually itch free. It’s already being used in such items as undershirts, shirts and hosiery.
Even silk is coming up with some upgrades. Take the new Monster Silk produced by transgenic silkworms, which includes certain spider silk proteins as well as silk proteins. The result is a significantly stronger, more elastic product that can be produced at a cost comparable to that of conventional silk.
Similar breakthroughs are appearing for man-mades — some of them including increasing ability to weave them into cloth that was previously 100-percent natural. These new blends are showing up in more and more products ranging from mass market types all the way to top-end fashion offerings.
Still elsewhere, more and more lighter and longer-lasting nonwovens are being introduced in a variety of fields including packaging and autos. In the latter case, one study suggested that more than 40 individual parts now are being made using these nonwovens, principally to allow increased vehicle efficiency, effect cost savings, reduce energy consumption and improve acoustical insulation.
All in all, these and other so-called technical fibers are now said to account for 25 percent of global fiber consumption. And they’re being applied to a growing number of other areas like water purification, medicinal products and responsive fibrous systems.
When it comes to the medical field, for example, new offerings are being designed for less-invasive surgical procedures, infection control, and accelerated healing. And for outside wear, there now are garments that can take a child’s biometrics and then text them to a cell phone.
More attention also is being given to leisure-time products. And with good reason. Specifically, a growing number of consumers who exercise regularly say they’re looking for technologies that ensure they stay cool and dry during workouts.
These innovations are not limited to fibers, fabrics and apparel performance. For one, there are all the new digital technologies designed to transform the buying experience — all aimed at generating higher sales. They include paperless receipts, signing for purchases on a touch screen, and ordering online and then picking up the item at a store.
Still another wrinkle in the digital sphere, is the availability of virtual fitting rooms, some of which even create 3-D models while a buyer shops online. By making the choice and the right size as quickly as possible, it gives customers a lot of incentive to make an immediate purchase.
Some fashion firms are even experimenting with performance-tracking technology. It’s already in use in online shopping when buyers receive recommendations based on past selections.
Finally, if there’s still any doubt about putting more effort into online selling, they should be quickly dispelled by a recent e-commerce survey. It finds that consumers spend 100 minutes a month shopping online, significantly more than spent in brick and mortar stores.

Hey floydborga,
https://register.epo.org/application?number=EP11833071&lng=en&tab=main
It's in the works and has been for quite some time.
I've posted about it from time to time, I've provided the link I use to keep track. They just recently paid and renewed their paperwork. Their application is pretty extensive and it takes time as it runs through the process, it has been rewritten, clarified and updated each time as it's been necessary. Its not finalized yet in its entirety but it is in the works. I don't think they can legally say they have It internationally secured until they have it finalized. But again as I said, it's in the works and they're on it. Hope this helps a bit.
GO KBLB.
I haven't been on much lately, I have a 3 week old boy now and haven't had much time to check In, or sleep lol, so I haven't read all posts around this so if this info is redundant, sorry. Hope everyone's doing good!

That's the right attitude SilkRoad!
There have been way too many complaints IMO.
This is good news people! C'mon! Whatever the number is, it is now double. That's a good thing. What real benefit does it give the individual investor to know an exact quantity at this point? They have a goal to reach/ sustain tonnage.. that's what your waiting for. This PR is to tell you that the production ramp up is progressing and progressing well. You want updates from Kim don't you? Pretty sure I've heard that a lot. People want Kim to get the word out, I know I've heard that many times, so stop the complaining about a positive update and a PR about having several outside publications feature KBLB.
The last PR related to all the recent features about KBLB was great, I didn't think so at first but then I took a step back. That PR isn't catered to people who already know about KBLB (us here already who know KBLB up and down). To "us" that PR is fluff and lame with nothing new.. but if you stop thinking selfishly and in a bubble you'd understand there are still plenty of people that don't know KBLB and what Kim really did was take advantage of a situation and put out a single PR that features a great run of free press highlighting KBLBs achievements from several sources. That's not a bad thing, that's a very savvy and frugal marketing maneuver. I feel these PRs are about garnering a larger interest in KBLB while building towards bigger announcements.
Go Longs!

Yes.
Some updates seem to happen maybe a day later while others can delay a week or so after paperwork is filed. So if say, KBLB files paper work to register Big Red as a trademark, it could take a week before that pops up on the site, but for most updates its really a matter of days or even just 24hrs. Monster Silks final registration completed officially June 24th but I think it took a couple days to hit the site before you could see it.
The USPTO has done a lot over the last couple years to make it's online service better as it continues to update the TSS.
GO KBLB.
Since the announcement of Big Red I have consistently watched over the USPTO and haven't seen anything yet. I've searched under KBLB, Warwick Mills and just by Big Red itself.
Warwick mills has a bunch of trademarks but nothing really new. I would think there would be some kind of new registrations made for any new product types from Warwick, although most likely they will just preface their new products with Monster Silk, ie, Monster Silk(gloves), Monster Silk(Body Armor), Monster Silk (Protective Vest).
I think it's just a matter of time before we see a Big Red trademark filed and I feel it should move faster than the previous registrations with respect to KBLB having the ability to have a Specimen and Use Declared much sooner than the initial textile creation; Monster Silk/variety.

Not big news really, just staying current with the day to day activities...
Totally agree.
As has been the case for KBLB since inception IMO, Kim has been focused on the process (albeit boring at most times) first and foremost before hyping and selling the outcome. Of course the outcome is why we're here, but a lot of companies sell their shares based on what will happen without setting up the infrastructure to support their hype.
We've seen Kim Thompson set up with the University that not just had genes sequences, but patents on them. He has chosen leaders in their respective fields for advice and for hands on research. He adapted and folded in Zinc Fingers to speed up the process up as he secured Licensing from Sigma Aldrich. He gets MOU's signed for potential suitors, files and upkeeps Trademarks, re-signs agreements and maintains business relationships with Notre Dame and Wyoming, and even set up a meeting with shareholders to be face to face. It's truly visible by his actions that infrastructure is extremely important to Kim Thompson and with that strong foundation this company can flourish. It's an extreme balancing act to raise and maintain funds/SP for a project that needs so much time and has so many boring parts to it (test weaving, product consistency, hatch rate monitoring, production scaling, silkworm trait consistency markers..) . I think Kim has done a great job overall (not perfect by any means, I've had my REALISTIC gripes along the way) to keep KBLB moving in the right direction and in the right way.

The talk lately of the accounting firm issue is ridiculous.
If it was at all an issue, Why would Kim PR it and bring more attention to it? Riddle me that locos.
Others who claim the info they get is due to the field they're in...FALSE.
the info shown is ONLINE FOR EVERYONE.
You can see the new accountants staff on their website.
Type in the name of the accounting firm on pinksheets.com and you can see the new accounting firm represents a lot of stocks.
And no CPA of character would post repeatedly in BOLD FACE TYPE with RED HIGHLIGTING something they have only recently asked to be clarified by another states CPA website. Seriously? You haven't actually found out something you've been blasting negatively about a company on a forum. Seriously?
Half the posts lately are a joke and wasting everyone's time and pushing people away from ihub.
Didn't know if you have an accounting firm your stuck with them for the life of your company or else "something is up". Never a reason to change that's "legitimate" right? C'mon.
Then we see posts about how small the new accounting firm is, wheres the info of how big the last firm was in comparison?
New company only..ONLY has 16....vs what did the last company have? I don't care to dig in that much because I'm not worried.
I heard about the new firm, read their reports, went to their site, take with a grain of salt who else they represent and there....I've done my DD. I don't need to start making up things and cause a highschool type rumor of why Kim isnt with his last accountant anymore.
It's all quite hilarious really but then you wonder why so much misinformation and why so consistently posters hang around a company board/forum they don't like.

Warwick wins $94.3M body armour contract:
Excerpt from article:
The company is also building a biomass energy plant to increase its production capacity.
Warwick was among five companies bidding for the work in a process that took more than two years, with two rounds of testing by the military before the final award, Howland said. The multi-thread products are designed to protect against bullets or shrapnel, as well as spike or knife attacks. "That's something we've been working on for 20 years," Howland said. "Warwick has been investing in technology and products for doing this for a very long time and has been selling this technology internationally for years."
The new contract is a big breakthrough in the domestic market for the company, which has sold primarily in the European market for years. Holland described the bidding process as fully competitive, but the ability of the Warwick material to protect against multiple threats made the difference. "Many of the competitors tried to do it, but they didn't have 20 years of experience," he said.
The company is working with the military on designs for female personnel, which should be completed in about nine months. - See more at:
