Don't know, but considering that a lot of them went on to become mega-successful, I would surmize that YCombinator is legit & doesn't engage in 'predatory VC' tactics & practices.
Rubbish; "not for quantum dot knowledge"....as with this & post# 73126, speak for yourself (some of us folks can actually walk & chew gum at the same time..& even think for ourselves, imagine that)...same thing for going off-the-rails 1/2-cocked over some imaginary "fearful scenarios" w/ no basis in fact.

New polymer films conduct heat better than metal:
"the new polyethylene film measured around 60 watts per meter per kelvin. (Diamond, the best heat-conducting material, comes in at around 2,000 watts per meter per kelvin, while ceramic measures about 30, and steel, around 15.) As it turns out, the team's film is two orders of magnitude more thermally conductive than most polymers, and also more conductive than steel and ceramics..............the team's polyethylene film conducts heat only along the length of the fibers that make up the film. Such a unidirectional heat conductor could be useful in carrying heat away in a specified direction, inside devices such as laptops and other electronics. But ideally, he says the film should dissipate heat more effectively in any direction."

That too of course...my intention was more to reflect (using one common example) of how a comparatively low conversion efficiency 24/7 solar panel (on a glancing face value) can realistically measure-up to &/or exceed the total output of the 8/7 Si products leading the market today over a 24hr period. So, the 24hr metric does work, for me in this user-friendly scenario any way. Others are of course, free to choose any comprehensible metric they like...good luck w/ hanging that on your keychain ;)
