Tale of 2 Stocks that I am a shareholder in...ALRY UP more than 36% Friday! MKGP DOWN Friday in another lackluster performance.
ALRY appears to have bottomed out and beginning its climb up.
According to BMiles (post 3037 Maverick board), a strong supporter of MKGP, the reason MKGP is encountering selling pressure MAY be because some people are selling shares for "tax reasons!"
However, ALRY doesn't seem to have that problem with its shareholders right now.
(Or maybe it had the problem earlier when its price was lower).
MKGP is about to blow out like that picture in the top right of the iBox.
Brad
Will add. I am starting to monitor each one closely to look for the next gem. I am just a little to tied up in my other stock right now... haha.
For the sake of being comprehensive, I noticed your list is lacking several more companies, none of which I own nor endorse at this time. You may want to add them to make your list complete.
DOIG (Delta Oil and Gas)
VYEY (Victory Energy)
WRNW (Well Renewal)
POGI (Paradigm)
DIGG (Digital Gas)
POIG (Petrol Oil)
AVLN (Avalon)
NTAH (Nevtah)
SOIGF (Strata)
EDNE (Eden)
PBLS (Phoenix Land)
SRGG (Surge)
GNOLF (Genoil)
WBRS (Wildbrush)
PRRPF (Portrush)
CPCO (Cengroup)
Thanks for adding ALRY. I like it alot. Everyone is searching for the next HMGP, which could be somewhere on your ibox list, staring us in the face. Who knows which one?
It has been added. I liked reading over the old PR's. Time for an update though.
Will add. thanks!
Why isn't ALRY on the ibox list? The low o/s and Kansas wells remind me of Hemi. I'm going to hold long term.

UPDA >>>> UPDA Operators Executes New Transportation and Oil and Gas Sales Agreements
During this past week, UPDA Operators, Inc., a subsidiary of Universal Property Development and Acquisition Corporation (OTCBB:UPDA)(FWB:UP1)(BCN:UP1)(GER:UP1)(MUN:UP1)(STU:UP1) executed new agreements for the sale and transportation of the natural gas and crude oil produced by the oil and gas wells of UPDA’s Catlin and Canyon Creek subsidiaries.
In its agreement with Texas Energy Management, Inc. (www.temlc.com), UPDA Operators is guaranteed a minimum return of 98% of the amount generated from gas sales, a significant increase from its previous agreement with Enbridge (NYSE: ENB) (www.enbridge.com), who will continue to transport the gas through its Enbridge Energy Partners Natural Gas Pipeline. This guarantee increases as production continues to rise and, contrary to previous agreements, requires Texas Energy Management to obtain the maximum price for all gas sold.
The new crude oil sales agreement with GEER Tank Trucks (www.geertanktrucks.com) pays UPDA 100% of the posted price for West Texas Crude and provides UPDA with additional production point premiums as it continues to generate more oil.
“With these new agreements, UPDA will now realize a far greater return for its production while streamlining its accounting and management processes,” reports UPDA Vice President Chris McCauley. “The management of UPDA Operators continues to improve its field management efficiencies while establishing strong relationships with vendors committed to the success of UPDA.”

Gas Explosion Rocks Northwest Harris County, Texas.

'Fireball' erupts in Cy-Fair
Pipeline blast could be seen for miles
By ANNE MARIE KILDAY and CINDY HORSWELL

BLAST IN NW HOUSTON
Explosion in Cy-Fair area A huge gas explosion that could be seen for miles erupted Saturday in a rural area in northwest Harris County, about two miles north of FM 529 and two miles west of Fry Road, officials said.
The fire, near Black Horse ranch, was tapped out by about 7:45 p.m., officials of the Cy-Fair volunteer fire department said.
Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Mark Braswell said that a 31-inch natural gas pipeline exploded at about 6:45 p.m. near Fry Road and Logenbough. The pipeline was "blocked off" about an hour later, Braswell said.
"As of right now, we have no injuries or fatalities," Braswell said.
The fire was in a three-square mile rural area, away from any homes or businesses. Officials of the Texas Railroad Commission, which regulates oil and gas pipelines, were on their way to the scene to investigate.
Lt. John Martin, a spokesman for the Harris County Sheriff's Office, said the explosion and fire were so intense that one captain with the department stayed about a quarter-mile away from the blaze.
"It was too hot to get any closer," Martin said, and emergency vehicles couldn't approach.
In a press conference later, Lt. Karl Pflughaupt, public information officer for the Cy-Fair volunteer fire department, said the line is owned by Tennessee Gas and Pipeline Co.
Firefighters "backfilled" the break in the pipeline with a form of nitrogen, he said.
"The fire burned out on its own," Pflughaupt said. But it did cause grass fires and brush fires. Eight trucks were working at the scene after 9 p.m., Pflughaupt said.
Residents were advised to shelter-in-place for about an hour and a half.
"The reason for it was that we wanted residents to stay in, just in case there were any airborne contaminants," Pflughaupt said.
Some people voluntarily evacuated, but that number is unknown, he said.
"As of now, there are no known contaminants and and it is safe for the firefighters to work on the brush fires," Pflughaupt said.
There was heavy traffic and "complete gridlock" near U.S. 290, Martin said.
Residents in the area reported the loud explosion, "a rumbling sound" and a bright orange "fireball" in the sky.
"The house started to move. It was like an earthquake. Then we opened the door and saw an orange-yellow light and lots of smoke going up," said Carlos Gener, a resident of the Enchanted Rose subdivision.
Kathy Johnson, a resident of the area, said she was driving home when one of her neighbors called to tell about hearing "a big boom."
"At the time, I was on 290 and Highway 6, and I could see it from there. It was huge," Johnson said. "It was something else, it was huge."
Barbara Bayless, a resident of the 6800 block of Eagle Ridge said she heard "a loud explosion that shook my house" at about 6:30 p.m.
"It was so loud that all of the car alarms went off," Bayless told the Chronicle while the fire was still at its peak.
"Now you can hear this giant whooshing sound like a jet engine."
Bayless said that the fire appeared to be out at about 7:45 p.m.
"There's no longer that jet engine sound, and I can't see the big orange glow in the sky anymore," Bayless said.
A Harris County employee, who asked not to be identified, said a bulldozer had hit the gas line at about 2 p.m. Saturday, according to one Harris County employee. But nothing happened until the explosion nearly fire hours later, he said.
Houston Chronicle correspondents Kim Pina and Pearl Cajoles contributed to this report.

Oh, I know it is now. I remember about 5 to 10 years ago when I was reading about drilling for gas in wv. A lot of wells are producing the methane gas in Tuscaloosa, AL. Thats another hot spot.
If you upload the photo to a server, post the link of your image within; [ chart ]url[ /chart ] . Don't include the http://
Hello again,
I have one picture on my computer of an oil well near me (Michigan) that I took last September, and I'll take some more later this week. What I need your help with is to tell me how to post them here?
Thanks
Derekz, you expressed suprise that W.VA. was a hotspot for gas.
When one considers that CBM wells are drilled into coal seams...and that W.VA. has a lot of coal...it becomes more logical.
BTW, CBW means coal bed methane and there are a lot of CBW wells all over the States and a growing number in Canada too.
IWRS - Irwin Resources Inc. Acquires Fraser Bend Mineral Claims
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 16, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Irwin Resources Inc. is pleased to announce the Company has signed an agreement with Mr. Donald C. Carter, a well known and respected professional and expert in the mining industry, to acquire 25 claims Mr. Carter staked in the historic Barkerville-Quesnel area of British Columbia (BC). "This is the Company's first venture into BC's precious mineral sectors and we are really excited about our involvement with Mr. Carter," stated Mr J.R. Gaetz, President of Irwin Resources. "This area has received a lot of staking interest in the past two weeks, including some of the major gold mining concerns, which have staked extensively nearby."
The Fraser Bend Claims are situated in the legendary Cariboo-Barkerville mining area adjacent to the Fraser River. The 25 unit (about 1950 acres) block of claims central to the famous Gold Rush Trail are located on the high gold bearing structure referred to as the Barkerville, Quesnel and other Terranes. Included in this are the highly sought after placer gold laden gravels of the Fraser Bend Formation and the Tertiary Terranes (Terranes). These Terranes run from south-central BC up into the Yukon gold strike area. Although many believe this area to be a direct on-strike extension of the Barkerville and Quesnel bonanzas, overburden cover, deep forestation and lack of erosional streams that would expose any minerals continue to make major discoveries illusive. A full information circular on the property and area is available at www.irwinresource.com
About Irwin Resources Inc.
Irwin Resources is a junior resource company based in Vancouver, B.C. Irwin Resources engages in the acquisition, exploration and development of resources properties with the intent to prove up mineral deposits. Irwin Resources seeks out low-risk opportunities to develop positive cash flow from proven and probable resource properties where prior exploration has been successful. Irwin Resources plans to grow exclusively through the efficient reinvestment of its internally generated cash flow and through limited external financing, which it plans to utilize to build ancillary businesses.

MKGP successfully drilled 4 gas wells there last year and own more than 50 leases out there. Late last year they altered their direction to Big Foot in Texas because they have no cost associated in that project and get paid as the operator to develop it. It only made sense because their were no risks associated and everything made there from their interest would be sheer profit.

Surprising West Virginia is a gas hot spot. Drilling activity has really picked up in that region in the past five years.
I am not currently in any oil companies at the time. I am following quite a few right now. Maverick looks very good right now. I have been trying to take it a lil slow lately on traded, but I am starting to pick up the pace again.
MKGP - Here are a few more items with certainty to look forward to in the next 30 - 45 days -
1. Fracture and flow rate on the third well.
2. Commencement of drilling of the fourth well.
3. The gas line coming on line along with the flow rate and initial sale of natural gas to the market.
4. Most important, the release of Q4 financial's which should once again reflect growth in revenue and profit.
As you can see, the only place this stock should continue to go is up. As you can see, our chart may look a lot like the HMGP chart by the end of March. Now if MKGP put out some sort of a PR on the drilling for more gas in West Virginia or more information on their vertical drilling program then the news would be huge and unexpected. Also remember that we still have an open option to increase our ownership in Z2 to 24.7%.

No doubt, Derek! The wind blows cold and hard around this caprock up here, but the peeps are nice and the second most beautiful canyon in the US, Palo Duro Canyon, is 20 min away.
Which oil plays are you in? Are you in Maverick?
The cold part of Texas!
Hi Derekz, I'm up here in the panhandle -Amarillo.
Thanks. Where in Texas do you live?
Nice board, Derekz. I have always had an affinity for oil plays being from Texas and MKGP is the best US oil play out there right now, IMO. Thanx again for this thread!

It's not just oil stocks, most pinkies are P&D.
EnergyGuy62 -- MKGP -- I was wondering whether you have looked at this stock? I generally never invest in O&G companies because such a high percentage are P&D scams.
I was interested when I saw some postings on MKGP which is currently profitable and growing and without any recent share dilution. I called the Company and talked to management directly, and performed a lot of due diligence in order to determine whether they passed the "legitimacy and trust" test. MKGP passed with flying colors, and is the first and only O&G investment in my portfolio.
Check out their IHUB message board if you have a chance (link on last line at the bottom of this message). I began buying at 0.07 about 4 weeks ago, bought in size down to 0.05, and have continued buying on the way back up to 0.07 (my most recent purchase was on Friday at 0.071).
Best of luck.
Tom
P.S. IMO, The posters on the board are a high class group.
