This thing just looks sweeter day after day! Enjoying the gains and the dividend!!!
Wonderful to find ourselves holding a success story!
Wonderful to find ourselves holding a success story!
I was happy to collect the .60 dividend!! With the capital gains to BOOT I am most certainly pleasantly surprised!
It's looking good captain! All smiles here....
Amazing run, isn't it?
We can never have enough clear winners but I'll take these random upstarts when they erupt. lol
We made it into the 20's ! It sure is....
Really nice to see the company doing well.
Really nice to see the company doing well.
UNIT is making a nice march to the 20's earnings just hit-
Uniti Group (NASDAQ:UNIT): Q1 AFFO of $0.62 beats by $0.09.
Revenue of $246.9M (+16.8% Y/Y) misses by $0.26M.
Youre right, they both paid .60 cents quarterly
The One I pointed out at .135 monthly that was quarterly is OXLC
UNIT X date was 3/28 with a .60 pay out coming up next week. This is a quarterly your getting it confused with something else?
UNIT is real close 2cd to CLM if you break the quarterly into .20 monthly.
The One I pointed out at .135 monthly that was quarterly is OXLC and is a 10 dollar stock making it in line with what ORC used to be.
Do some DD, its all there
Are you sure that UNIT is now a monthly payer? The last update I saw was a quarterly dividend of $.60 cents, which will be paid in mid April.
Agree with you on this, for sure. UNIT's product/service options continue to make this a sensible if not nicely prospective choice for yield hunters. UNIT is not to be viewed in the same light as one might a conventional REIT, as an example. So, then...while a number of sectors are under duress, we need to look carefully at each area on the basis of its own merits. The broad brush technique won't work here.
UNIT's drop at this moment with thirteen minute of trading remaining on the day amount to a percentage about equal to the market drop overall.
I'll be a buyer (adding to my current position) should the price point drop meaningfully.
Good luck!
UNIT is paying .135 cents monthly now. If you pull up their historical track record they've actually cut their quarterly dividend from .60 cents .40 cents. I like them changing the divy to monthly, but dollar for dollar if you look at CLM, they are the better buy. Entry price is relatively the same but the monthly pay out with CLM or its counterpart CRF is a bit higher.
I think the recent decline in price is just due to the market correction during the last 4 weeks or so. I like the dividend here, and think the overall health of the company is good. Should bounce back as soon as this market settles down. In the mean time collect the divy. Thoughts?
profits are so huge we gotta cut'm with clevers, congrats grampa!
It is He is just another Dividend hound you can find us over here chewing the profits!

Also on my third go-round although my wife likes to brag that I'm her turd husband. It all works out in the end because that's where turds reside until their coming-out party.
LOL
You're not waking up to the same wife, are you?
Damn, I'm 42 years old myself, so then I must be like a baby !
XD
Just in case :
Me being (too) greedy in this case, referring to it on hindsight because I didn't pull the ( sell ) trigger 'on time'. TWICE. And when I did, the supposedly higher profits had been cut > half. ( When it was going good, I was hoping too much to regain the entire loss amount since I started in investing in shares = 10 years. ) Then I planned to ride the waves of up & down ( trying to time it ) + take a concrete profit each time it's worth it.
I'm doing this now but ( although ) too late as Mr. Market is behaving differently in this recent period.
Bit of greed, bit of impatience ( before ).
Guess my face / fault on the 'ASS-phalt' there, HA HA !
( Isn't 1 of Warren Buffett's most famous quotes 'Be greedy when others are fearful & be fearful when others are greedy' ? LOL... )
BUTT anyways -> I wish y'all a great one as well !
;p
Love YOUR attitude on life / each day !
:)
Greetings from The Netherlands,
Ahoo
I hope that's a good thing.
Interesting concept you have there
Why, yer jus' a kiddo!
I love your attitude. Every day is a joy---waking up to my wife, waking up at all, I guess, although it sounds too fatalistic. You're not waking up to the same wife, are you?
Sounds like you and I share a lot of sentiments when it comes to marketeering. I find huge fun through it---not just from stocks but also from people I meet.
Today was an incredible day as my largest position tacked on 90 cents per unit (ticker is NGL). The money isn't especially meaningful although we are talking about a lot of it. But it's seeing how the market is valuing a pick we hold commonly. So these glimpses into the brains of others mean a lot.
UNIT is doing me alright for just a day of participation---up $95 on 600 units. No complaints. And the distribution is coming up pretty soon, too.
I made a lot of adjustments this week and look forward to pulling my brain back from the edge of market insanity. lol This is what I go through when driving my portfolio down unfamiliar stretches of unpaved road. I guess that means it's not my ass-phalt.
lol
78 you got me beat by 14 years turning 64 in 10 days here! So I am still looking out in 10 year time frames. I am sure as the time passes I will be shorting that outlook.
I find the stock market keeps me happy content and very occupied with my time and always looking forward to another day above board!
My procedure is very simple I hold a core of dividend stocks and use option trading on a very small scale for short term trading. When profits arrive I buy more dividend paying stocks!
Happy trading days ahead Matte
So thoughtful of you to reach out. I thank you.
You mention "greed" as though it's a bad thing. Oddly enough, it's bad in the eyes of the beholder when eyes are fixed on the wallet. Being a top-level driver in the game of most every Wall Streeter's arsenal, it's a constituent part not to be discounted.
Yesterday had me adding 700+ units of NGL Partners. I won't clog up this board with items to be found on the NGL board here at IHUB. My point, however, is that it's my belief that my "greed,' if that's even the right word for it, propelled me to question my motivating drivers ever pushing me to build a stronger position in a company I know well.
It is through this process of disengaging from some picks, thus enabling more meaningful moves into others... that has me convinced this is probably the most vital portal of growth we investors have at our disposal.
I hope you'll think of your actions in a kindlier way. You deserve that consideration! You're putting not only your cash at risk, your integrity is on the line as well. I go thru this process daily and have come to accept that I can be just as big an a-hole as anybody. But (or should I say "Butt...) {that's me I'm talking about, nobody else. lol}---when all is said and done, I'm the one footing the bill for my incursions into the field of stock marketing.
Another day, another little battle here and there...another opportunity to find new strengths within. Above all, another day for fun and excitement.
Have a great one!
Interesting having read your beautiful story !
:)
I myself have bought 500 shares early this year, unfortunately wasn't able to average down / buy another 500 more last month because I didn't have enough cash. I used all my remaining dry powder getting back lower into risky Steinhoff through 3 purchases, after I had made a nice profit earlier ( although less than 50% of what could've been due to (being too) greed(y) ;p ). That previous profit has evaporated as it has kept doing down since, so break even right now, 'HA HA HA'. Hopefully they get their SH*T together before / during the annual general meeting next month ( April 20th ).
GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL !
Greetings from The Netherlands,
Ahoo
Thanks for the welcome!
I think I mentioned I'd been a player in UNIT before but definitely not with the past year. It's time to get back in, given the enormous pressures weighing on energy and (real estate oriented) REITs.. I'm largely an energy hound. UNIT appears to be doing well. As I find my UNIT-wheels beneath me more completely, I'll add as makes sense. I'm afraid a 200 unit position won't impact heavily upon my portfolio. lol
Tim Plaehn has been good to me despite my enjoying going solo for the most part. And when I saw I could pay $300 for permanent residency, I jumped on it. I definitely trust his research and him. That's a rare combination these days, sad to say.
As for UNIT---if I can add some tomorrow, I will. I've been expecting a drop such as the energy sector sustained today and am deep in dry powder.
Will look more carefully at Omega Healthcare. I looked at it superficially over the past week and knew it could be a good one to hold for the longer term. The yield is great. As it happens, my age is too great although it sure beats rotting 6 feet below. lol At 78 on my next birthdate in June, I prefer to view stock picks not so much in terms of what's likely to be their trading channel five or ten years out, but how they'll move over the next year or two. Above all, there's got to be something compelling in the very near term to justify buying it.
Lest this imply I'm in sinking mode, I'm in perfect health---checking vitals daily, living on a little ranch with horses, donkeys, goats and dogs, and a wonderful wife too--- everything is as good as good gets. But I'm a realist if nothing else and while life is wonderful, I know better than to expect Heaven on Earth to last forever. So I'm cautious.
But I'm also an adventurer and that, alone, has me ever captivated.
Hope to share ideas again! And again, thank you!
Nice to see you here Jugs! I also follow Tim Plaehn as I am subscribed to his dividend hunter . It's a great service and like his dividend approach to investing. I have 11 nice payers right now and add from time to time.
Been in Unit for 6 months now it has been recovering from the dip down to the upper 14's and seems to be holding well in here. Nice close today at
17.24.
Next pay is:
Ex Date 03/28/2018
Pay Date 04/13/2018
OHI also bucked the trend today another nice dividend payer that has a nice history of raising dividends!
I'm back in, just a couple of hundred so far but with an eye on more.
Fine company with excellent prospects. This is a high profile pick of Tim Plaehn's "Investor Alley." Despite today's stiff pullback in energy and many REITS, it's interesting to note that I had to pay some pennies more today than would have been the case just a day earlier. But I'm happy to pay it.
UNIT busting a move and getting some love for a change. Nice dividend coming up
Uniti Group (NASDAQ:UNIT) declares $0.60/share quarterly dividend, in line with previous.

My Top Small-Cap REIT For 2018
https://seekingalpha.com/article/4134014-top-small-cap-reit-2018
Boy, the HFT algos are sure programmed to make sure this one just cannot break out above certain levels. I thought that, finally, this was going to be allowed to stay above the 26dma and 20dma, but no, once again the algos reversed it hard and walked it all the way down into the red.
Yes, some tax loss selling is also at work on UNIT, but all the developments in the Aurelius Cap vs. WIN case look to be in WIN's favor, if you've been following the rich comment-threads on many of the contributor articles at S.Alpha, so it's a wonder that "bargain hunting" hasn't overcome the tax loss selling on UNIT, as has happened with so many other beaten down names that have recently rebounded despite some tax loss selling.
Disclosure: i'm avg'd in at 15.62 so not sweating this one, but every time i think of cashing in some trading shares around 16.80, 16.50, 16.40, i fail to do it, then regret not having "sold high, to later buy lower."
Yeah, UNIT just declared a 60 cent dividend payable in Jan of 2018..very, very happy with this high dividend payer.
yeah, bought more today because I COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING BETTER...if anyone has a better pick, let me know.
Raymond James sees exchange offers for Windstream debt as 'good strategic move' Raymond James analyst Frank Louthan IV notes that Windstream announced a series of exchange offers for several of its debt issuances out to 2023. The analyst believes this is a "good strategic move" to attempt to get the issue taken off the table, while getting the 2023 bonds in question potentially exchanged and the default issue resolved inside of the 60-day window established by Aurelius's letter to the trustees on September 21. Further, the strategy potentially clears some of the matter up ahead of the legal timeline that Louthan believes will stretch into 2018, but like all chess games, its likely part of the entire game, not the end. He reiterates an Outperform rating on the shares.
This news from around midnight is evidently much liked by the market, hence the pre-mkt jump in pps. As someone posted over on one of those endless comment streams at S.Alpha:
Looks like they are not only intending to extend maturity but also get those bondholders together to agree to waive the default issue, which would checkmate Aurelius no?

I bought more at $14.81 today...hopefully we go higher and continue the dividend...this really looks like a good pick..should be a winner at these prices.
Truely a gift at these prices.
