If you're using keyboard shortcuts to go through the messages (and if you aren't, why not?), B for Board is right next to N for Next.

When reading posts one at at time, the last post being read has NEXT greyed.

How about instead of greying NEXT, change that spot on the screen to say, "Top of Board". So that the cursor does not have to be moved to show the board, as if it was newly selected.

I have suggestions for improving the IHUB experience.
I have been using IHUB for about 7 months.
1) Have a seperate window for Chat/twitter type comments. This will improve the quality of the board posting. Only post DD type info.
2) Have a like/dislike button. This lets the poster know that others are reading their posts.
3)Have a "NEW THREAD" button option with the reply button. Currently I have to X out and use my favorites button to re-open the IHUB site, scroll down to posts then hit the "NEW MESSAGE" button to start a new thread. It takes a long time to do.

Yeah, your probably right, it sounds good in theory but the shysters would undoubtedly figure out a way to circumvent the system and it would end up worthless anyway. Oh well...back to the drawing board..lol.

This has probably been mentioned in the past but what about having a "karma" system in place where we can vote for/against what iHubbers we think are honest or which are shysters.

Just thought about this 5 minutes ago so there may be flaws...lol...however on the surface it would appear to be a good way for newbies to know who they can trust on these boards. You most certainly can't go by the most followed members. Who's the most followed and who is the most trustworthy are two entirely separate things.

I still remember the first time I visited a message board on iHub. All I saw was the iBox (now intro message). That particular iBox was a mess, and I immediately had the wrong impression of iHub because of that. I thought it was a stupid, childish site, and it took me some time to return and get used to iHub. Now I love iHub! But I can imagine some people having the same impression that I had when they first visit iHub. Especially when they visit a stock with a messy iBox.

So my suggestion is to;
a) close the iBox as a standard setting
b) move the iBox under the messages
c) make it optional for the admin to choose the position of the iBox. (below or above the messages, open or closed).

Maybe an option to place iBox information in tabs, instead of in 1 continues page? Like a tab for charts, news, articles, management, video's, etc...
And a notification to users when the iBox gets updated!

It would also be nice to have the option to show the latest headlines above the messages, like it is possible to open or close the iBox and quote page.

iHub doesn't have a rating system, and as a free member, I don't have the option to keep messages in an archive, which is not really a big problem. What I was thinking about was a way to use the kept messages from users as a kind of rating system.
Only the best messages are kept by users. So wouldn't it be a good idea that when a message is kept by a certain amount of users, that they would end up in a "Recommended Message list"? This would make it easier for new visitors to find the most interesting messages more easy. Free users could use a "recommend message" button to ad messages to that list.

Maybe the best messages from all the boards could also be added to a single board as well, as a way to promote certain stocks...

Favorites have been sortable for at least 5 years. Settings, Site Options, Favorite Boards Sorted By.

The one thing that hasn't been worked on is "boards" in the favorites section. Most penny traders have everything from .000 lotto plays to longterm mining stocks to group boards they follow. Would be nice to be able to click on "boards" have a drop down window where one can sort their boards rather than have to scroll down thru a ton of boards to check just one board out.

Now I am going to vent a little about some of what I am seeing happen here on Ihub. Once upon a time Ihub was easy to maneuver. Easy translated into speed finding information a trader was looking for.

Now Ihub has gone to the other extreme by overloading traders with information. An example of that is the new "My stock ativity". 90% of that is stocks I have clicked on maybe once or twice at sometime or other and have no interest in at all. If I had an interest in a stock it would be in my favorites.

In the other part of my world I work in the aerospace industry. Over this past year I have had to watch the same things that are happening here on Ihub happen there. I have seen the stress placed on workers. Seen the injuries caused by "lean manufacturing" "kaisen" "getting more with less" etc.

Please not here in this part of my world!!!

After posting the bug report THREE TIMES I have just been told to post it, yet again, elsewhere.

The people I am dealing with are being responsive but very unreasonable, and it is starting to really tick me off. I moderate the forum I am trying to get repaired. I am not getting any help-just the good ole runaround. I think I will just pack it in and resign as moderator.

I even did a cut and paste of the data-error image from the forum and loaded onto an external photo site, just so I could use it in my post as an exact and precise example of what the problem is. And I explained it fully in the text.

What more could I constructively do to explain it?

Don't bother answering, because this is no longer about just fixing a niggly little site problem. It has ballooned into just one more phony pretext for f**king with my head.

This just reminds my of the old saying: "No good deed ever goes unpunished."

Why don't you create a forum for just reporting site bugs?

That would be a simple and straight forward solution, instead of searching for a likely forum in order to make the problem public.

Make it a link off of the "Contact Us" page, since obviously, the Support Request link doesn't produce useful results.

Look, I'm trying to be pro-active here, in reporting this bug. Personally, I don't care about it. I am just trying to service the forum of which I am the moderator. So I am supposed to be responsive to forum member's complaints, even though they could just as easily work through this maze. The least you admins could do is make this a simple process.

Well, you can vent here or you can post on a board where someone is actively monitoring for problems like that. This board is not closely monitored as you might have been able to tell by the fact that the post before yours was 4 months ago.

Look, I've made two attempts to get this fixed. I have filed a Support Request IM and I have posted about the problem on a site-specific forum.

I am not willing to be further led by the nose down the garden path just so you can have some fun. I am way too busy to be playing these silly games.

I have detailed the problem so I am sure you now know about it. Either fix it or don't. I don't really care one way or the other.

The MKRO forum, which I moderate, has the wrong stock data shown at the bottom of the iBox. It looks like this:



Correct symbol but wrong company Apparently "Mikron JSC" is some company located in Russia, and totally unrelated to MonkeyRock.

Can this problem be fixed? It looks like all that needs to be done is change the "RTS" string to "OTCBB" or something similar, to denote the correct Stock Exchange.

I am getting multiple complaints and "jokes" about it. About 10 days ago I sent an IM in the form of a Support Request, and so far there has been no acknowledgment or change. I guess that was the wrong way to handle this. Anything else I can do to speed up the repair?

Can we design a better way to manage the pictures? Like a page with thumbnails of the hidden/unhidden pictures. With check boxes next to them so it's possible to hide/unhide them more than one at a time. Also, a way to permanately delete them.

First, I really, really like the Buzz Cloud and News Sections

But they would be even better if there was some sort of indicator for news when someone rolled their mouse over a stock in the Buzz Cloud (similar to full quote button)or even on the top 15 on the homepage also the News section could be sectioned off (organized) by exchange like the homepage stock scanner.

Seems to be some kind of problem triggered by redirection.

Perhaps something to do with one of your advertisers? I know that sometimes they try to drop some malware or activex on my machine.

Seems to be much worse using Firefox than IE. And it also involves Java.

On my end ONLY IHub is affected. And I've been on about 30 different sites today. Only a problem on IHub.

I have cleaned out all temp files, cookies, etc. Rebooted. Swept for spam/malware. Etc. Don't know what else I might try.

I am back on late and I'm still seeing the problem. If I'm the only one complaining then forget about it.

Have you tried re-booting your computer?

The main links like [next] just timeout and wont put up the next post. Same for [favorites] and [boards].

I have to hit the browser refresh page button several times before I get the page redisplayed.

THEN the [next] button will work and take me to the next post.

Also, when I post a message and press [submit post] it just sits there for 30 minutes or indefinitely.

Can we darken the background of the site to maybe a light grey rather than white? It's kinda bright. And I noticed a sudden change today but its gone now and during this change the 'mail' counter was in dark purple against a dark blue background and you could barely see it. Keep that in mind.

I've noticed that when a poster replies to a sticky post, the reply winds up above the stickys. Where as almost all other posts are below the stickys. This has me going back to the board because the counter indicates an unread post, which is located in a place that my eyes are not trained to look, unless I force them. Has anyone else noticed this?

How about this one. When I am looking at my 'favorites' page I sometimes want to reset the count on some boards but not on others.

Currently I have to reset them one at a time. That can be time consuming. Could you assign little boxes (like we have in our mailbox page)?

That way we could check #1-3-5-7 and hit reset, and then review the posts in # 2-4-6-8 etc.

It does only happen on occasion, I'll watch the next time. I often do that when posting a string of news items, or perhaps a string of T/A sites, etc.
