BTW, jpgill, on the business, glad you are expanding and doing great.
That's super!
You know there will be bumps along the way, but if you have a good plan, a good model, execute it, yet be flexible when warranted, hey, stay the course and move forward.
Those glitches that come along, well, just bumps in the road, just bumps in the road....
Rick
Maybe is moving from the west to the east, huh?
those stops are critical to preserve capital.
Stops have become a religion to me!
That's a theology lesson I've paid dearly for.
Got the world by the tail, jpgill.
Lot of doom and gloomers around, especially on SI, but I don't give them the time of day. Not in my life plan.
Bring it on.
I've got a lot to be thankful for.
RR
Murrey, well, I guess it depends on your time frame, too.
I have not followed BEAS as closely in recent months as I use to, but I think it will be a good one long term if you add a bit a long the ways.
But, in this market, when you're not sure, those stops are critical to preserve capital. The swings have been huge on some of these issues, Murrey.
RR
murrey,
Its back up in NorCal. I ran a test PM to myself and it went through. Not many new posts yet though (must be down all over still).
jpgill
RR,
Times are good here. Business booming. Plans being executed.
How about you?
jpgill
Not for me jp, I'm in Missouri.
SI not up for me, jpgill. Must be spotted. Bet they have some routing/server problems.
How ya doing, jpgill?
RR
Havn't seen a thing in the way of numbers. ihub is new to me. Don't know what's going on with Go2Net. The whole site is down. Oh well, after yesterday, I'm not going to do any more stupid "hunch" buys like I did with SEBL & BEAS. Good thing I put stops in that got me out with a little more than my ego damaged.
In the meantime, know anyone who wants to sell a hardware store or dry cleaner?
RR,
SI back up.
jpgill
MSFT #'s out yet, Murrey? Don't see report on CNBC yet. RR
Tim, u over here? Just ckg. U making any moooooney? RR
Hi Murrey:
I see the weather on the map. Hope all is well back home.
Family is in our place in Colo. Sent them out there awhile back and I'm in D.C.
Will have to check with the house sitter.
We live in toronado alley. Second level of house was blown away by one years ago. Could tell lots of those kinds of stories.
So, anytime we're away and see there's weather in the area, we perk up.
Maybe SI be back up soon.
How ya doin' Champ?
Rick
Rick...just tried to post to you here. ihub was slow to the point of not working. It's back up. Having a little weather here, but everything is moving to the east.
Hi Dealer! Just checking while in between meetings here in D.C. and I see that SI is down.
Just trying over here.
RR
Hi Tim: Hey, if you feel that you need to close a position, do so! I tell ya, that ole gut feeling has saved my you know what many times.
Besides, it's good to take a breather when you feel that way.
Hope you have a great weekend, Tim.
RR
Hi RR, out of my calls today, that was a nail biter yesterday. maybe early, but I needed a breather. tim
Howdy redwards! RR (eom)
is it time to bring out the wine cheese and crackers ? luv ya'll
And -- ELSO (.10)
A lot of you may remember ELSO from the old days. It's still the Four Queens Hotel/Casino in downtown Las Vegas. They had a buyout offer earlier this year that was essentially break-even after cutting in the preferred shares but not the common. That was before the official audit. Now that the audit is done, ELSO is BACKING OUT! They terminated the deal.
ELSO should move in the direction of the .60 where it was when the buyout of the Four Queens was announced.
There's also a 1.5 million dollar payment of an old debt that now comes into the picture, as well. Both of these things, the termination of the acquisition and the 1.5 million are in recent filings. But there's no press release by ELSO yet. Think they're buying cheap shares? Somebody is!!!
OK jpgill! Good to see ya here just in case SI goes down.
Another hot day here but great weekend in all.
Have a great week.
RR
ELN (2.00) Conference Call Tuesday!
If you want to know what they are going to say, they've already put the updated information on their FAQ page! They have some pretty ambitious plans that should take them north again, imo.

RR,
Still here.
jpgill
I check here. But I guess I kinda have to. <g>
Was surprised to see this familiar board name show up in recently-active boards.
SI seems to be up now. I think that's two short outages in a week. I can't really beat my chest and brag about being better in that regard. I take this one out occasionally for short periods of time, too.
U lurking over here, Gandpa? RR (eom)
SI down tonight looks like, Dealer.
Just checking this alternative for the crew.
You check here anymore?
Anyone?
RR
Dealer, I am a lurker on SI. Where is Voltaire?
Thanks,
Tom
Right Murrey.....I think I might have been entering the wrong user #. Whatever......gotcha E-Mail address I guess we will meet here unless something else happens.
Everything seems to be working all right, dealie.
Hi Dealer!
Thought I'd try this site again when SI was acting up the other day. Figured you would eventually check here again sometime.
Waiting on the bull.... well, we have been in a solid channel for about 10 weeks. Looks good. But, realistically, there is still a lot of ground to cover with the economy.
The economy is getting better, but I think we're still 6-9 months away from getting the stonger news and more positive comments we need from businesses. Execs are still speculative as to the recovery, and their guidance comments are very cautious.
You are doing the right thing. Wait until you feel it is time.
Nothing wrong at all being cautious. That's smart.
Take care, Dealer.
RR
Hi Bigbeancounter!
Nice to meet you and thanks for the nice words.
Good luck on the ENE. Congrats on the profit thus far!
Wasn't that something, from 26 cents to over $1.25 in a couple of days.
I bought some Dec puts on SUNW the other day. May close that position today and take profits.
Rainy here. Still warm temps. Doesn't seem like winter.
Hope you have a great weekend!
RR
Hi Bigbeancounter! Sorry I do not get over here very often as you can see. I set this up as an alternative......in case something happens to SI.
Sure wish you were over on SI.....like I said before if they offer free deals I shall post over here.
Glad to see RR still has the address......he plays such an important part on the SI thread.
luv,
dealie
Hi RR! Good to see ya got this address still......I started to come over and check it yesterday when I had trouble with SI and never did.
Still hope everyone has this address....
BTW Someone brought your message over to SI and pm'd me with it.
dealie (out of market until sure of the bull, I think)
RR, wow just checked this site for the heck of it and see you posted. I follow you guys on SI big time! Thought this site would never have any activity, but glad to see it's still a backup. Never got in on SI back in the free days. Call me cheap.
I bought 1000 ENE at .41 for the fun of it. Looks good so far. May cash out soon, cause I was just looking for a quicky, but you never know.
Love your attitude and thanks for posting.
P.S. By the way if Dealer sees this, I was the last person to post back in July and I did walk into Pinhi's office, but He was not there. (Went to the Hardware store across the parking lot.) Awesome town! and Awesome Area! Played Wildcat and it was great! Hope to get back to Highlands some day. (Would not mind if you post this on SI so Dealer and Pinhi could see this...Thanks.)
Hi Dealer: U asked who was buying/selling all that ENE volume. Well, I know that if I had bought a slug of it at today's low of a big 26 cents, I'd be selling it at, hopefully, today's high, or near it, of a big 45 cents for a 73% return.
Buy 10,000 bucks worth this morning early and sell a few hours later for a $7300 profit. Not bad.
Even if ya couldn't time it just perfectly, say maybe half of that, I'd take it!
Hey, profit is profit!
Ah, but who would do that with ole ENE anyway?
A function of risk.....
RR
Hello, hello, testing, 1, 2, 3.... testing. Well, just seeing if this thing still works.
SI been acting up lately and want to make sure I can get on here.
RR
Boy this is reaching and this board has been pretty dead. Dealer if you get this, please pass to pinhi. I'm at Wildcat Country Club and looking for a game tomorrow afternoon the 19th. I tried calling him at the number in the phone book this morning asking for pinhi, but the girl who answered did not know what I was talking about and respected that it might be a privacy thing. So it'd be cool to meat him if possible. Maybe in Cashiers in the morning and will stop by. Thanks a million!
Love ya,
Duke
<<Sorry I'm so long in Thanks! I had not been over here since Thursday.
>>
No problem at all.......you've obviously had more important things to attend to.......I'm just glad you responded....sent you a couple of PM's, but never heard back from you.
85 years old....wow......I guess the good thing you can take from this is she lived a long and fruitful life. I am 36 years old....I have seen more death at my young age, then most will in a lifetime. Unfortunatley, mostly it's been people dying way too young, for all the wrong reasons.........Those kinds of deaths are hard to take and really stick in your mind for life....but I did notice when my grandmother recently died, well over 90 years of age, it was my first real experience with losing somebody at an older age. Much easier to handle knowing she lived 90 something long and happy years.....anyway, your mom's in a better place now, and obviously lived a long and fruitful life....so be thankful. I pray to god that my loved ones make it past 80.......
Have a greatday
Keith
Thanks Bigbeancounter, KG4 and The Big Game On. Sorry I'm so long in Thanks! I had not been over here since Thursday.

Thanks R. Black. dealie
Glenda and Tom,
Very sorry you lost your mother. Looks like your friends on both porches have gathered.
Take care,

Dealer & Tom - My sympathy to both of you as well. Take care.
Agreed....everybody should say a prayer for dealer and toms mother.

Everything put aside i think a nice prayer is deserved here

One more thing that I might add for your consideration is that in a short while not only can a chairman delete a post, IHUB "may" also allow the chairman the ability to suspend a poster from posting on his/her thread.
Won't that make only a post deletion look like a nice thing for a chairman to do?
I’m interested in your take on this just out of curiosity.
TIA
Reid >>
Actually Reid, my opinion is this....if IHUB is serious about turning this into a real, true investement site, they are not heading in the right direction with the above move. Take the following into consideration :
First, my thinking all along is the keys to the asylum, should not be had by so many people. You know as well as I do, that as long as there is written/spoken word, there will be disagreements. I think you will also agree that not every human being is perfect. If you think people are pissed about having posts deleted, how do you think they will react to being banned, if they feel it's for the wrong reason. Bob doesnt like john, so john is banned, simple as that....and if matt and bob are going to have to police all this, it is only going to add to their problems, not make their job easier.
Case in point : I was banned on SI's Porch. Only place I've ever been banned for. It was not for attacking or bashing....I speak the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts. many people were getting on Tom about some of his market calls, yet Dealer banned me, and like I said, it was not attacking or bashing...it was discussing. Tom will be the first to admitt...if you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen, and he takes folks questioning him fairly decently. Dealer however...well, she did not like me so she banned me. Now, my point is this.....this will continue to happen.....people WILL be deleted over personal predjudices and biases. there is no way around it. When I was banned from the porch, there was dealer and i think maybe 2 - 4 people that were glad I was banned. Do you want to see the number of posts I have saved from people that think it's a travesty and biased action that she deleted me? Opinions from both regular porchers, ex-porchers and just lurkers. Most everybody said the same thing. My point is, dealer had the power to ban me, so she did. Was it right? Well, I have an enormous amount of people that dont think so, that think i did and said nothing wrong, and cannot understand why dealer just didnt put me on ignore instead of banning me. Isn't that a curious thought....she could have just ignored me...instead she banned me, and Vendit, as god as my witness I have a boatload of saved posts saying it was wrong for dealer to ban me...that it was personal for her, and they dont understand why she didnt just ignore me, rather then ban me. So was it right for her to ban me? maybe she and a few others think yes, but I have many more that think no, and I could have created problems by fighting my bannishement, but decided it would just be another waste of time.
The exact same thing will happen here. You mentioned you wanted IHUB to be different then all the others....avaoid the yahooligans, and all the problems the other sites have.....I think you are working towards having the same types of problems. people will fight...people will start threads and delete posts and ban people from their thread until their hearts delight....you know that as well as I do...it's human nature. If Bob and Matt have to approve every deleted post or banned poster, those guys are gonna be awfully busy, wouldn't you say. they may need a team of people to handle all the problems that could arise. What they are doing is not setting themselves apart as a serious site, they are inviting troubles. people fight. people have biases. It's just a normal thing. And it will be brought here, if it is allowed, there is no way to avoid it.
You mentioned only deleting a post would make the chairmen look good in comparison to banning him entirely. Eikter way reid, you have pissed off people. Pissed off people just mean more problems. More problems just means more work for matt and bob.
What ihub is doing with allowing chairmen to ban a poster is copying SI......and I thought you were against that, and trying to seperate yourself from si and all the others. Also waht it is doing, as I stated above is inviting problems....you watch and see....there is no way around it. Giving more authority to board chairmen is a recipe for another raging bull or other useless site. people will be people and giving more keys to the inmates is not the answer, imo. IMO, they keys need to be taken away from the inmates. We should be allowed to start our own boards, but we should not have the power to delete a post or ban a poster, and bob and matt don't have enough time or resurces to handle every problem, every dispute, and there will be many, no way to avoid it.
My opinion is as mit always has been. It answers most every need. It will seperate ihub and make it a more viable and true investement forum. Have The parking lot with stricter rules and have a banned post thread...or better yet, just turn the parking lot into both....but with strict rules. Chairmen can remove posts from their thread but cannot delete them. They are moved over to the parking lot, where at that time, the arguments can begin. Either they are mature arguments, or you are given a warning. A second warning, and your gone simple as that. Bob and matt would have a much easier time......basically one thread to police, with far less people bitching directly to matt and bob. They simply lay down the strict rules, and we either abide by them, or send us away.....if your trying to turn this into a good site with good people, that seem's like the ticket. Think about this for a minute....look at america and our crime rate...then look countries not nearly advanced as we are, and they have minimal crime rates. In america, we have rapists and child molestors and murderers walking the streets, with slaps on the wrist, if any punishement at all is given. In India, they chop off your hand if your caught shoplifting. Is it a coincidence there isn't much shoplifting in India? No. because people think of the consequences and dont do stupid things, while here in america, most criminals know they can steal a car 10 times and still get off with a slap on the wrist, some community service and probation, which even if they violate, they wont go to jail. While in india, they have far less police, and they have far less to do and deal with.
Life is no different here. Let folks delete, ban, bash, fight or whatever, and this site turns into just another site...nothing special....another also ran....meanwhile, bob and matt will be doing nothing but trying to settle disputes all the time. They will have to hire a staff. Things will get out of hand....and honestly, all it takes is one slip....I'm no lawyer, but Vendit you know as well as I do that nowadays people sue each other for looking at them the wrong way. I have never seen more frivolous lawsuits being thrown about then I have in the last 5 or so years. Eventually, your gonna find some unemployed lawyer who was banned that has nothing better to do then sue over his right for free speech and etc....you know how whacky people are........I dont care what the fine print says when you sign up to IHUB, it still wont prevent the whacko's from doing their thing, and matt and bob will have their plate full simply because they are allowing idiots like john to start a thread so they can ban or delete somebody...and like I said, bob and matt will not be able to keep up with this...something will slip by and etc, etc.....I see nothing but problems for ihub, matt and bob under this scenario, and I dont see IHUB turning into the legit site yall want it to be. Nope, IMO, yall need to make believe we are in India. Very strict rules, very strict penalties. No posts get deleted until they are first moved to the parking lot and then let the mature discussion begin, and then let matt and bob play police and make true determinations if a post should be deleted or a person banned.....and I dont mean just banned from a thread....nope, I also think if you are banned by more then one thread, and Bob is the only one who can do this, then you should be banned from IHUB.Period. Strict rules, that are easy to follow. Nobody can cry wolf about deleted posts, because they wont be deleted, they will be moved. Matt and bob will have far less to do, far less to worry about and it will be much easier policing the site. They wont have people coming at them bitching all the time...first it goes to the parking lot, which should be easy for them to police, and then they can make final determinations about deleting a post off of the lot, and/or banning a poster from a thread or ihub.
Sorry to be so long winded and repetitive...that is my biggest problem......<ggg>, but I honestly do believe if you want this site to as good and different as you say, then it's time to take the keys out of the inmates hands, while making matt and bobs job easier, while protecting the site and it's occupants.......You solve all kinds of problems by doing the things I describe.
I'll post this on the lot as well, but am hesitant to do so....when I first posted on the lot, i was attacked from every angle because I was suggesting to matt that changes needed to be made.....hopefully the people see where I am coming from and dont jump all over me...if they do, well again, it's proof positive that stricter rules are needed.
One last question...if yall are really wanting to trun this into a different and better site, then why not be an INDIA and be very strict with what is allowed and not allowed. it will keep the "yahooligans" away, meanwhile, what you are proposing is just gonna bring more yahooligans over so they can start threads and ban people....bob and matt will have to hire a whole new staff.......
Ya sked my opinion.....and you got the long winded version, which is what most folks get......I dont think I have a shor winded version for anything.
Have a nice day
keith
Keith
One more thing that I might add for your consideration is that in a short while not only can a chairman delete a post, IHUB "may" also allow the chairman the ability to suspend a poster from posting on his/her thread.
Won't that make only a post deletion look like a nice thing for a chairman to do?
I’m interested in your take on this just out of curiosity.

Reid
Thanks for the response Vendit....I'm beat, so will make this quick.
I agree with much of what you say....thats one reason why I think the line should be drwn clearer on places like the parking lot. Sure it's nice to have a place to tell people to take their differances, but bottom line is if you want this place to be a respected place, with as you say 99% good posts and etc......then the parking lot is a good idea, but still needs to be much stricter with what is allowed. Bottom line, if IHUB is trying to attract the true investor, then who gives a crap if they put down very strict rules, and ban the hell out of anybody with 2 strikes. Simple as that. It will keep the yahooligans away, or they will be banished for good, no if's and's or but's about it.....after all, thats not the type of person ihub is looking for.
As for my idea on the thread for banned posts....I am just trying to think of a happy median. No matter who deletes or approves it, many are left wondering....the person that got deleted is upset, and others are upset because they cannot judge whether the post should be deleted and everybody wastes time arguing back and forth......you yourself even said it takes an enormous amount of time to keep up with things.......this would make it so much easier......mainly for Bob I guess, if he is the one handling the complaints. If the off topic post doesn't belong, instead of deleting it, send it to another thread where it can sit and then nobody is mad. I mean, if you have the parking lot, then you may as well have a thread for banned posts.......I understand wating to keep the integrity of the site at a high level, but like I said, if so, this may help, not hurt. It satisfies all parties and gives nobody the right to bitch, while saving bob alot of time, as posts wouldn't be deleted by the chairmen, they would just be moved.
As far as my own actions....I readilly admitt to getting carried away on the parking lot with paule and me. ny.....bottom line is I was trying to discuss a topic with Matt...a serious topic, and these two guys jumped all over me.....Matt, in a public and private response to me...said it was all for fun and etc, etc.....and not to take things so seriously. So I returned the favor and flung the insults back to prove two things. One, If I am attacked, i will defend myself and two, there needs to be a finer line drawn in the parking lot. yep, lets go there for our disagreements and keep the threads clean, but I still think the rules should be much stricter....the type of banter me, NY and paul were engaging in just shouldn't be allowed.....so I was not only returning the favor of those who insulted and attacked me, but also hopefully opening up the eye's of ihub that they need to be stricter if they are serious about making this a legit site.....anyway...looks like me, paul and NY kissed and made up...but I hope the point was made......the parking lot is a good idea, but mature discussion should only be allowed......ban the hell out of those that don't abide by the rules....and again, i do like the idea of a banned post thread. It appeases those being banned and those wanting to see a banned post, while making the chairmen and bobs job much easier. Nobody has reason to complain about anything anymore, and alot of free time of management will be gained...nobody can scream BIAS....nobody can say squat. Chairmen and matt and bob wont be spending all their time quelling the folks that are pissed......persnally, I think it is a good idea....as good or better then the parking lot. I think they have the right idea in limiting the categories, but the parking lot with stricter rules, and a banned post thread to make all sides happy, are a step in the right direction. Then you can have serious threads with serious discussion, with no excuses from anybody for anything, and far less fighting I would imagine.
As long winded as I am...thats about as "quick" as I can state things <ggg>....I am bushed am and outta here.....have a nice weekend.
