PLUG have an order in for 75 FCEV trucks.
they missed out on supplying the fuel cell to Nikola fr the fCEV but if Nikola decide to make class 6 trucks they could. This news will let them enter the custom Class 6 market through partners - one Lightning Motor no longer exists but others like Workhorse or the OEMs themselves will be interested. It all means more hydrogen vehicles, a need for more hydrogen fueling stations which Nikola FCEVs can then fill up at.
see my question
I thought they had and HAVE an order for 75 NKLA trucks - Class 8
but I do wonder
(I have no idea what 6 v 8 means --- nor do I have any REAL sense of how close that Class 6 is from running on the road and being produced by ???? with any volume ??)
I saw this as I was looking at how PLUG the Billion Dollar Loan company was doing
I assume this is not competition ?
At same time - I thought they produced Green H --- did not know they were into working on creating the H power for a truck ?
? (do we - anyone - know which Electric Truck Company - for that Class 6 - they are working with (and if I read it right are producing the H and the Fuel Cells and loading them into the truck for operation?)
I guess they won't be buying trucks from us!

Plug to Revolutionize Middle-Mile Delivery with Class 6 Fuel Cell Electric Truck Integration
May 15, 2024
LATHAM, N.Y., May 15, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG), a global leader in hydrogen solutions for the green hydrogen economy, has announced its latest innovation: the integration of a Class 6, medium-duty fuel cell electric truck. The integration involves a commercial Class 6 chassis cab with an industry proven electric propulsion system powered by Plug’s cutting-edge ProGen fuel cell technology and seamlessly integrated with an industry proven electric propulsion system.
Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) are powered by hydrogen and are more efficient than conventional internal combustion engine vehicles. Plug's ProGen technology generates no harmful tailpipe emissions, emitting only water vapor and warm air.
Designed specifically for middle-mile deliveries, this vehicle is engineered for unprecedented range benchmarks of up to 500 miles, a significant advantage compared to battery electric vehicles. This extended range not only enhances operational efficiency but also reduces the need for frequent downtime associated with battery recharging, resulting in saved time and resources.
Beyond its extended range tailored for optimal payload capacity crucial to middle-mile deliveries, this vehicle distinguishes itself from many other heavy-duty counterparts by not requiring a commercial driver's license (CDL) for operation, offering a more accessible solution for adoption in operations.
“Plug continues to lead charge in developing and deploying hydrogen fuel cell solutions for electric vehicle platforms," said Plug CEO Andy Marsh. “Our ProGen engine, built on decades of operational experience, offers unmatched benefits for middle-mile delivery—range, rapid fueling, cargo volume optimization, and higher power densities.”
The product is currently in its final integration and testing phase and is expected to commence on-road operational pilots this summer in collaboration with Plug’s key market leader logistics customers. This next phase will provide valuable real-world data and feedback, further optimizing the truck's performance for commercial deployment.

I guess we wait for next quarter ---- given how clear they are in what they say
(they have become - I believe - more conservative and also have moved to saying less)
but if you believe that Volume Sales new focus is a different view on the older words - that is interesting
i’m not sure of the source of this “news”. Is it a journalist interpreting the earnings call discussion in a different light?
Production numbers are key and I didnt hear anything to suggest that they could raise the 300-400 this year number if they wanted to as they are so reliant on single vendor parts like battery and H2 storage tanks.
If that has changed then getting large (100+ ) orders form national accounts with 20 or so for 2024 delivery discounted would possible and be great news, for now though they have the HVIP vouchers which are for smaller fleets
Cabel, thank you for sharing!
Thank you
interesting ---- I assume volume sales means "big deals" ? (say 15 or 30 at a time?) ??
I imagine - assume - NKLA would not move to this approach - and BE PUBLIC about it !!! - if it did not see some "volume sales" soon - that they can produce trucks to and PR ? (impact of sooner cash is obvious (absorb fixed costs) but interesting to see how a higher volume should help with suppliers (maybe buy in larger batches?)
Nikola’s decision to ramp up production and delivery scale is a multifaceted strategy designed to absorb fixed costs, enhance volume credibility with suppliers, raise brand awareness, and leverage its growing hydrogen fuel station network. While this approach might affect average selling prices (ASPs) in the short term, it is deemed crucial for carving out a sustainable path to long-term success.
Do you think the person who bought stock this morning at 0.6291 might be a little upset right now!
cool
Honda isn't saying if the new H2 CR-V will be sold outside California, the only place where the Clarity Fuel Cell could be leased, but did say production of the fuel cell CR-V will begin in 2024 at the Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio
Saw this on a yahoo news page or maybe MSN news page - with picture of CAR
Honda’s hydrogen-powered CR-V SUV is coming to life later this year.
? anyone know if h cell or ICE with H ?
hopefully the H fuel cell as it will indirectly reflect well on NKLA
sorry
never had great memory
and from a low start point it gets worse
this is key - and hopefully ...now that they can borrow 1B and more

Nikola and Plug Announce Strategic Collaboration to Push Hydrogen Economy Forward
Published December 15, 2022
https://nikolamotor.com/nikola-and-plug-announce-strategic-collaboration-to-push-hydrogen-economy-forward-216
- Plug to purchase up to 75 Nikola Tre hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles for green hydrogen delivery
- Nikola to purchase 30 metric-tons per day liquefaction system from Plug for the Ariz. hydrogen hub project
- Companies have signed an innovative Green Hydrogen Supply Agreement with synergies for both Nikola and Plug’s business models
so ? today ? NKLA is the cheaper - lagged - way to play PLUG to the upside ?
Yes
Likely a spill over from the PLUG news
that stock might be up 40% or so pre market
Stock is up big time in pre-market!
WHILE SOMETHING IS HAPPENING - PRE MARKET PPS
Thanks
Please remind - does NKLA have any formal arrangements with PLUG
thanks
seems - for CARS -- in the USA --- the next few years if "concerned" one might take a hard look at Hybrid Cars
seems EV cars lose so much value so fast - but hybrid do not (and track much closer to "typical")
would love for NKLA to announce more news on their BEV

Typo sorry. They are going battery electric and so far not Nikola. Was shocked when I heard how many chargers they have installed across the country.
uk
re AMAZON you noted
They are going all non battery not fuel cell
so if not EV with Battery and not fuel cell - what does AMAZON plan to use - ? ICE with H ?
DNU, Hyzon and Hyundai have hydrogen fuel cell Class 8 trucks. However, in my opinion, the only real competition to Nikola BEV or hydrogen FCEV trucks, are diesel trucks.
I'm sorry if I passed on wrong information!!
I think this was rehashing news from 2022. talks about 11 BEVs in Q2 no mention of FCEVs at all.
Need to find more reputable sources of news like the company itself. Certainly supply chain items (hydrogen tanks and batteries were stated in Q1) are limiting production which is annoying as first mover advantage gets dampened.
Wondering if Amazon has tested the BEV 2.0? They are going all non battery not fuel cell and supposedly have thousand of high capacity chargers installed already, buying back those old BEV 1.0 may prove to be a good idea.
Nikola secures enough supplies to meet annual truck target!
We the Market or ?
It is my recollection that TOYOTA was late to EV cars as it had a mindset on Hydrogen
So now I see - confirm - learn - TOYOTA is doing fuel cell H Class 8
Besides NKLA - who else - which companies - are putting H FUEL CELL SEMIs on the road today ?
(R a lot in test mode - ?)
I assume - know - IVECO is out there with "its" version but who else
What news today?
Recent article.

If it wasn't for the RS hanging over the stock, we be up at least 20% today after the positive news that was released today!
Eagerly awaiting end of April update to California HVIP data.
Link https://californiahvip.org/impact/#deployed-vehicle-mapping-tool
It makes more sense to us but not to them! They want the RS and they will get the RS!
At this rate a reverse split will end up putting the stock at $2. It would have made more sense to just let the stock rise like I was starting to do on it own.
To confirm - as I easily forget and get lost
NKLA is a H Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (H v (and plus) Battery)
the article is about direct use of H instead of Gasoline to burn in an ICE ?
??
We will see
I still expect a 10% drop in price regardless and maybe 20% ---- numbers that are sort of mild -- yes mild - for a R/S overall - when done for reasons like this
I do hope they have NEWS when the do the R/S if they got the votes
I voted no -- at least on this round

A new generation of hydrogen engines unveiled: goodbye to FCEVs as you knew them
by D. García 05/10/2024
https://www.ecoticias.com/en/new-generation-hydrogen-engines/1881/
You are correct! 20 for 1 at 0.50 = $10.00 a share. I now believe it will be 30 for 1 and keeping it at this level or below gives them justifcation to do that. I also believe they will have positive news to release when they do the R/S and buyers waiting to support the stock price.
Share price rounded ------ 50 cents
so for every 20 shares of stock - I get one share of NEW NKLA (post RS)
20 shares of stock today at about .50 cents each is $10 - just the math
are you suggesting that post R/S the stock goes up 20%-40%
most others expect a haircut of say 10-20 percent post R/S
That would mean for 20 for 1 R/S $8-$9
I thimk they want to drop the price below 0.50 to get a 1-30 split!
DNU, thanks for posting the article on the Tesla Semi truck. I noticed that the truck still has a center seating position, which I thought they were considering changing from the original design, since they received negative feedback from truck drivers due to significantly reducing visibility (not being able to peak out of side window), as well as not being able to interact with manned booths such as at ports, security gates, toll booths, etc.
Link to article https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/tesla-impresses-another-new-company-using-its-semi-trucks-we-ve-been-able-to-push-these-tractors-well-beyond-expectations/ar-BB1m62CA
Below I highlighted two contradicting quotes from the article on this topic. The first quote states that truck drivers had to be trained on the unique central seating position of the Tesla truck. Really? Imagine telling a truck driver who's been driving trucks for a living for many years, that they have to be trained to drive an EV truck. Drivers of Nikola's trucks don't have to be trained to drive the trucks. This is because Nikola designed the truck with input from truck drivers.
The second quote makes no sense to me, and does not sound truthful.
Five MB drivers were trained on the unique central seating position and advanced features of the Tesla Semi, which aim to enhance driver visibility and safety.
"The Tesla Semi rises above any other tractor with mobility, center seat configuration, and precise movement that allows the driver to navigate safely," driver Casey Kamp raved.
I believe it will be a 1-20 RS. I still think we end up with a price between $12-14 a share.
