I checked out the filing, the convertible debt is exchangeable at $0.13

"As previously reported, on September 12, 2012, Nexxus Lighting, Inc. (“Nexxus” or the “Company”) entered into an Investment Agreement (the “Investment Agreement”) with RVL 1 LLC (the “Investor”), an affiliate of Aston Capital, LLC. On September 25, 2012, the Company and the Investor closed the transactions contemplated by the Investment Agreement (the “Closing”), and the Company issued to the Investor 600,000 shares of newly-created Series B Convertible Preferred Stock, $.001 par value per share (the “Preferred Stock”) in consideration of a cash payment of $6 million (the “Investment”). The Preferred Stock is convertible into shares of the Company’s common stock, $.001 par value per share (the “Common Stock”) at a conversion price per share equal to $0.13, subject to certain anti-dilution adjustments."

At Closing , the Investor acquired 600,000 shares of Preferred Stock in consideration of a cash payment of $6 million, funded from cash on hand at Aston Capital, LLC. After giving effect to the conversion of the Preferred Stock and the other transactions contemplated by the Investment Agreement, the Investor would own 46,153,846 shares, or approximately 73% of the Company’s outstanding Common Stock. The Preferred Stock represents approximately 73% of the outstanding voting stock of the Company on an as-converted basis. The Investor is entitled to vote the Preferred Stock on an as-converted basis with the Company’s Common Stock.

You'll usually find lighting company run by lighting guys.

Saavy businessmen stay away from fashion oriented businesses like lighting companies. Selling to Lowes and Home Depot usually gets small companies into lots of problems. They grind you on price and if the product doesn't sell because they merchandise it poorly the vendor gets blamed.

How do I know? Been there, done that twenty years ago. Won't make that mistake again.

You can still buy Array lamps from Lowes.com
They are actually great products; very good color, instant on, and very efficient (lumens per watt).
The problem was that they were priced too high for the consumer market.
The other problem with Nexxus is that it is run by a bunch of lighting guys instead of savvy businessmen.

Lets hope this investor will turn them around.

I tried their product when it hit Lowes for a month before Lowes pulled the product from the shelves. Product was fine but nothing special.

Be careful here as convertible preferred offerings typically wind up being nothing more than a vehicle to allow that same investor to short the stock at will all the way down to zero. He could make far more than the $6 million invested.

Hope it's different here but we'll see in a year.

Too bad the company went all in with Lowes and failed. It was a chance they had to take but the product was just not up to par.

Looks like their isn't much in terms of shares out there.

It seems that someone is keeping the price in line right now, especially after the move to 0.30 but it might be an interesting day.

didn't want to sell...but it is what it is...i am winning big at my JAG position..so i am OK...lost a few cents...took me DAYS to unwind my position...as they would only let me sell 10k shares at a time based on they will only let you sell 10 percent of daily average volume..that being said 10k shares at a time was actually generous ...so i am out..maybe that frees the stock to go higher....i finished selling out yesterday..so this DROP is not on me today......THE FEAR OF BK got to me...so be it...if it goes to 1 buck...oh well...i messed up. good luck to the longs that are left here..maybe they find that buyer i was hoping for...maybe they announce it tomorrow to really put the screws to me lol

NEXS has the best products in the industry, and their patents ALONE should be worth well more then double the PPS of .22 we find ourselves in right now. Fair value for this company with all of their issues is likely somewhere in the range of 1-2 dollars.

IMO, probably a lot of people don't realize the financial trouble NEXS is in and just read speculated buyout/merger news. Unless someone knows something else somewhere, it's just my guess.

NEXS was promising last year when they signed the Lowe's deal but it just never seemed to produce results or there was a lack of execution.

I'm confused about the filings.
The first SC 13G/A about SAM is dated 2010.
Maybe that is a typo.
In the other fiing it talks about a group who owns more than 10% of the outstanding;
"Aggregate Amount Beneficially Owned by Each Reporting Person: 1,720,858"

Nice pop today. Just so you know two of the large shareholders sold their shares. One sold all of their shares and the other one sold a small portion.
