Wow. You’d think NCPL’s CEO, who is Chair of the Johns Hopkins Engineering Alumni and serves on the Alumni Advisory Board for the Hopkins School of Engineering, would have known better than to get involved with a mickey mouse engineering operation like Orbital Assembly.
Was the police supply store example from a Harvard Business School case study? Maybe our CMO came across that when she was at NYU grad school. I hope so.
Come on. Give the NCPL management team a little credit.
NCPL The old Valuesetters crew and Riss have it looking better as of lately.
NCPL The Fanning family sure are turning this one around
NCPL Good green day and looking good
Yep.
Two examples of all business isnt good business:
Maserati was looking to increase profits, and it created a low end offering that almost totally discredited the brand.
A local police supply store sold bullet proof vests to gang members,
and lost all police business as a result. It subsequently closed.
... companies need to keep image in mind, and NCPL's image in my mind is not doing all that well. This is evidenced by the volume and share price, as well as its recent offerings.
... but perhaps that will all change when we see the big increase in cash revenue on next ER
You want revenue... but not that revenue.
You want smart business financial management (such as taking advantage of federal loans/grants that are being scooped up by thousands of other small and mid size companies) but not that kind of smart financial management.
You want NCPL marketing and PR team to build awareness of the company... but not that kind of awareness.
????
All business is not necessarily good business long term.
... if you keep promoting these Shark Tank rejects, it has the
potential to hurt the company over the long run.
I guess a company that would take a stimulus loan with no plan to pay
it back isnt worried about much more than pocketing what it can from
any source.
... but I still hope they are able to become just a little more selective.
On the bright side, I didnt see a Fanning listed on this one.
" CNN Travel has picked up the Space Hotel story and is sharing it today. Whether it will ever exist or not is less important. We got paid. Money flow through Netcapital is increasing more than twice the industry average.

There's a sucker born every minute.
... Space hotel by 2025, with up to 280 guests and 112 crew members.?
Dining rooms, movie theaters, etc
Not exactly a new idea, but worth a few million in funding so lets revive it?
All is fair in love, war, the OTC and in 4(a)(6) offerings?
The odds against this company ever making a dollar in profit are
just ....... astronomical.

More fees, web traffic and attention for NCPL. Not sure why that’s bad for NCPL investors?
People bought pet rocks too. Raising money
just means they had some slick graphics
and a hot industry. You want to place any
bets on their space hotel being
operational in 2027? Rubbish.
Hit the max $1MM raise in a heartbeat so someone likes it.
This is utter rubish and I hope NetCapital
has not taken a position in this fantasty of starting construction of a space hotel
in four years.
Coverage for NCPL’s Orbital Assembly...
https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/2021/03/03/space-hotel-orbital-assembly/
Correct. No need to operate profitably because free money coming to anyone, anywhere for any reason......... f’n ridiculous
Didnt they pay themselves with the last score of government stimulus?
... and then planned on not having to pay it back.
That must be the new American Way?
The way this company conducts business is deeply troubling.
Looking forward to the ER, to see if there's anything here besides smoke and mirrors. Company needs to show significant cash revenue.
"I expect them to score another couple of $m from the new stimulus."
I expect them to score another couple of $m from the new stimulus.
It would appear we can not expect much.
Can we expect interesting moments in the next few days?
Certainly the better they do performance wise the higher the potential valuation. I’m intrigued by the Rialto partnership and how they’ll incorporate blockchain which appears to be Rialto’s forte. That is frequently mentioned as a hot fintech area in investment circles.
I can’t speculate on acquirers. But there are deep pockets in this area of the market, companies with the gravitas to attract far more and bigger private equity prospects to NCPL’s ATS platform than the company ever could on its own. My hunch is that day to day volume is low because the core inside majority shareholders are holding tight for a bigger payday longer term. When/if that happens...don’t know.
I’m comfortable this is a plausible thesis. Others may disagree. And of course that’s what makes a market.
Best regards.
Having a valuation, and being profitable are often different stories.
... heck, look at some of the startups valuations that are clients of
NCPL, most will never make a profit, some will never have any real revenue.
I just wondered why you stated Robinhood was now "out of the red",
it being a private company and not filing with SEC?
So you think its likely NCPL is going to get bought out? Which companies do you see as possibly interested?
... what do they actually have that most companies couldnt duplicate for a lot less than $21M?
( hopefully with a premium on top of that )
I think NCPL will have to do more than just have a proof of concept, I think they'll actually have to make cash money and turn a profit before anything much happens.
"I used Robinhood as an example of a sucessful fintech that built a trading platform. I’m not suggesting any connection with NCPL or weighing in on the current controversy that surrounds the GME situation. While RH is private there are various sources that value it at close to $20B with 13M users. There are multiple places to research this information. As for transparency Robinhood makes most of its revenue through a process called payment-for-order-flow. Large market makers execute hundreds of thousands of Robinhood trades at once and pay them for it. Not quite sure what’s not transparent about that. Same happens at Etrade, Schwab etc.
Now, separately. As for NCPL I believe they are building a credible ATS product with proof of concept that could attract an outside buyer. Whether that’s for a price that makes current NCPL individual shareholders a profit...well that depends on whatever one’s cost of entry was and one’s required timeframe for holding is. As with any other speculative investment."

They do need to word things so they don't sound like a Dilbert comic. Buzzwords are so last century.
Interesting that you would use Robinhood as an example, a private company that is anything but transparent in how it makes money, and
has had multiple issues lately.
... and as Robinhood is a private company, where are you finding information on profitability?
Also, are you saying its not necessary for NCPL to be profitable?
not sure I understand what youre trying to say here?
Isnt NCPL currently a stand alone company, I dont think its a subsidiary is it, at least I didnt see that in the last profile page I checked?
"end to end application", "digitized approach" , sounds like hokum to me, which could be why NCPL had 8 shares trade yesterday?
I'm still hoping you can, in plain language even I can understand,
tell me why anyone should be bullish?
https://www.investopedia.com/articles/active-trading/020515/how-robinhood-makes-money.asp
"Great question. Helpful but not necessary to be profitable as a stand alone company. Reference how Robinhood until very recently bled red ink. An end to end application that can offer issuers a digitized approach to private capital raises is is of immediate interest to major brokers or asset managers (I.e., buy vs. build)
What NCPL can do with Rialto (and I would not be surprised if there is a formal merger between the the two in the future) ensures regulatory compliance, solves liquidity and transparency problems, and saves issuers time and $. Its also in lockstep with the social aspect of democratizing markets for the little guy. So it’s valuable for issuers, investors, and regulators."
They will probably get another $2m~3m from the stimulus. Not much but the market cap is not much neither.

Youre throwing out some buzzwords, but how do you envision this "turnkey operation" and blockchain helping NCPL become profitable?
"Don’t be distracted by the quality of some of the start ups NCPL has listed so far. The future value of the company is in the functionality of the turnkey application they’re building. And the Rialto Networks partnership announced today incorporating the security of blockchain is another clue to what is going to happen. Fintech in the private capital space is on the radar of all the big boys: JPMorgan, BlackRock, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley.."

This stock is a growth stock and huge potential. I am here for the long haul.
I was thinking about the same. Lets see how this plays out. LOL
Good catch on sales manager.
Kind of a cookie cutter approach to setting up new companies requiring
startup funding?
Pick a buzzword industry, grab a few people and stories that sound good on paper and try to get funding at a ridiculous valuation.
... although Michael Fanning doesnt have much cred, having played games
at Zelgor as an intern, and being a business student.
Reminds me of Deuce Drone having engineering students as employees.
( ... although Kelton Hardrict Jr. was a very effective promoter in his videos, ... I had hoped the ladies would emulate. )
Anyway, Michael Fanning's CV is so lacking that they had to mention who his cousin is! <g>
Getting out before this crashes and burns? Isnt the pps today about a quarter of what it was a little over a year ago? ( pre-split )
... I consider that a crash, but if this next filing isnt good,
you may see the burn portion.
They need to show cash revenue as promised, enough to justify the
monies spent on their buddies company.
.. otherwise, investors will get further decimated.
"And same Sales expert, Patrick Cahill as ChipBrain. It does not look like these are stand alone business offerings but scraping up bits and pieces to form “new” offerings hoping to score some investors. Maybe this is typical of this space but seems questionable. Been working my way out of my position here before this thing crashes and burns."

Notice any similarities in a lot of these companies?
They're startups, with no history, little revenue and no profits,
insane valuations, and they are often incestuously linked with all the
same people.
A lot of them are never going to make money, they're just not viable.

Much better than The Feel Good Lab that they're also raising funding for.
... but with Phoenix youre buying into a pre-money valuation of almost
$27M
On the other hand, at least its not a me too CBD offering like
The Feel Good Lab
I should do a competing offering called Doctor Feelgood?

This was a setup from the very beginning. The Three women fronting for a company that did absolutely nothing for the company.
I expect this farce to continue/
I think the next filing will be an eye opener.
I think it will look good on paper gains, but not
have the cash earnings that have been promised,
.. and frankly should be expected from a company that just got
bought for $20M
Sometimes this board reminds be of the cannabis boards,
... and what passes for DD is laughable.
NCPL has a great story and potential, but so far, execution has been
lacking.
I urge everyone to remain skeptical after what was pulled with the
reverse split / merger and with loans that were taken out.
Hopefully, the next filing shows where this is headed.
"you and I are about the only two on this board that are on to these gamesters. Others have to be pumpers because their pumps are based on crap."
I don’t see much of anything going on here on this ticker, I t’s been dead for quit awhile. That said, private equity investing is real & NetCapital is definitely a player in the field. Time will tell if they can bring share holder value. PS I’m still a disgruntled share holder because this had all the makings for an epic penny runner pre split
r. clarke, you and I are about the only two on this board that are on to these gamesters. Others have to be pumpers because their pumps are based on crap.
Man, that was a deep dive.
The charts were very helpful in getting your point across.
Very tough to argue with such a well thought out position.
No need to wait for financials, and to see whether the $20M spent
on their buddies company was worth it. Just buy!
"This company is so undervalued and who ever is selling today is going to find out here shortly how cheap they sold their shares."
