What qualifications are required to read the FAQ ?
...unqualified someone...
And what if someone, an unqualified someone keeps injecting himself into a conversation between a paying member and admin...can his posts be deleted as none of his business/off topic for him?
From IHub's FAQ.
"Are replies to deleted posts supposed to be removed, too?
A good rule of thumb is that if the post can "stand alone" within the TOS, it should remain. Example: a reply to a deleted message that states "I agree" makes no sense on its own, however; one that says "the o/s is 5.5 million and the float is 4.5 million" still makes sense. Delete the former but not the latter."
It shouldn't matter if it was a reply, obviously it was a general comment, no malice....part of an ongoing discussion among members of the board....the member wasn't deleted....the discussion wasn't deleted....the reason it was deleted is because the Mod there is out of control and admin knows it and the only reason we are discussing it here , in public is because admin have me blocked....I have no way to contact other than by crude posts like this
Not at first glance. But if it was a reply to a deleted TOU post, then it loses it's context and becomes off topic, because the reader has no idea what it's about.
If it's a reply to a post still on the board, then I see no reason for yours to be deleted.
BTW does "Right on...you nailed it " break the TOU?...show us please
Why does my removed post say: "
Date Board Message Reason Status
02/04/25 6:49 PM Good Vibrations Shoes Inc Right on...you nailed it Off-Topic Eligible for Review
Yet when I try to ask for a review it says" This deletion was either removed by an Admin or has already been reviewed by an Admin."
and when I ask the Mods....they tell me that the Mod squad removed it....and if that's the case why would they do that when it was all in response to an ongoing discussion about GVSI...the stock...part of the discussion...when trading stocks
when I try to contact admin I get " Sorry, this member has blocked you from sending messages to them or you have blocked them."
Why is "Right on...you nailed it " against the TOU ???
I haven't blocked admin
@amitauman
BTW does "Right on...you nailed it " break the TOU?...show us please
nope not the case....can you read?....pay attention son
I think you're incorrect. I recall my deleted posts acting same as yours after I had
already requested a review.
You can try it if you have another deleted post that's eligible for review. Request review, then go back a day later and see what's what.
I have never seen my denied requests say they had been reviewed or denied.
nope, then it would say so
nope it says "eligible for review"...I think pesky mod sqad are getting emboldened for some reason...btw why not mind your own business ...or are you mod squad?....do you speak for the site?
@amitauman
That suggests to me that you requested a review previously, admin declined to restore it, so now you can not request review again.
Yet when I try to ask for a review it says" This deletion was either removed by an Admin or has already been reviewed by an Admin."

I was wondering if iHub could add an item to our settings feature where a member could check to see the status of their sanctions and bans. I am sanctioned on some boards, some that I no longer visit so they could be removed to better assess my progressive level of sanctions and severity of punishment.
I am also banned from at least 2 boards and have been for 2 and 1/2 years. "You cannot post to this board because you have been banned."
So in order for me to try and improve on my checkered past , it would help to know where I stand.
I am also sanctioned on my favorite stock board, what used to be a busy board, to 10 posts a day for excessive posting. I didn't learn of that until I hit my 10th post.
"You have already reached the 10 post per day limit placed on you for this board.
The limitation is until further notice."
I'm still puzzled on that one. Wouldn't iHub want their stock boards busy?
Not sure if admin will even see this request since admin has me on Ignore for 2 and 1/2 years

From the Q&A Board: About the stock boards
"Ok, folks, here's a look at the proposed new handbook guidelines for the rules. Looking for constructive feedback and comments:
Handbook - Revised Rules - Draft 6/23
Deletions of Posts-Stock Specific Boards
Duplicate
This is an accidental duplicate post by a single Member. This does not mean a similar message posted previously or the same content posted by a different Member
Personal Attack
Posts that victimize, harass, degrade, or intimidate an individual or group of individuals on the basis of:
Religion
Gender
Sexual orientation
Race
Ethnicity
Age
Disability
Spam
Excessively posting the same or similar content to multiple boards within a calendar day;
Tagging a message or link that has little or nothing to do with the stock.
Links to promotion content must include free, informative and actionable content i.e. not behind a paywall or requires registration
Posts containing content promoting other sites i.e. “Go to xxxx.com to discuss further”
Off-Topic
Posts about Moderators and/or deletions. Issues of this nature need to be discussed with a Site Admin
Posts about minors
Egregious religious or political statements should be removed because they derail the conversation.
Examples of benign religious statements that generally do not incite an all out religious discussion include: “Bless you all”, “Namaste” or “Merry Christmas!”, etc.
“The right wing Christian conservative zealots need to shut up” or “Those woke lib shitheads will get their own in the end” should be removed.
“The Senate votes on that bill today”, “Likely that the Pres will veto that”, “Since Rep have the House, I’m sure that will pass. Getting through the Dem Senate will be another story” - are examples of benign political statements.
Vulgarity (The "PG13" standard is loosely used as a guideline to what is/isn't acceptable when determining whether a comment is vulgar. If society has deemed it appropriate for a 13 year old to hear, it is unlikely that it will be offensive to the majority of Users.)
Vulgarity or slurs targeting other Users who are not-self-disclosed public figures.
No full nudity or scantily clad photos
Author Asked to Remove
When a Member has specifically asked that a post be removed and has cited a valid reason for removal, such as accidentally revealing personal information. This is an occasional accommodation and is not to be used to "mask" the removal of bona fide TOS violations. If you are asked as a Moderator to remove more than 2 messages as Author Request, please send the User to discuss with Admin. As well, Moderators should not be removing their own posts en masse This is considered an abuse of the Moderator privilege and could result in Moderator removal.
Messages over 48 hours old are not removed, even when requested by the Author, unless there are extreme circumstances (i.e. accidentally revealing an account number).
Violation of Privacy
Posting of what the Member believes to be any personally identifiable information (“PII”) (email, real name, phone, address, etc.) about another User is a privacy violation. For example, if a Member posts that "XYZDownDaDrain is actually Bob Smith", whether the information is accurate is irrelevant. The Member was trying to disclose PII. This is a serious violation and can get you suspended or terminated from the site.
Posting or referring to the contents of private messages without the author's prior consent is considered a violation of privacy and can get the User suspended or terminated from the site.
Threats
Threats or insinuations of violence or physical harm against anyone is a serious infraction and can get you suspended or terminated from the site.
As always: iHub reserves the right to remove or restore posts at its sole discretion. It is members' responsibility to bring violations of the Terms by other members to iHub's attention via the Report TOS violation feature, although iHub does not guarantee any action based on such information."

On the Boards here if one wants to get a post removed you can do so with 3 clicks of the mouse to report it with no explanation and then forget about it. Gone
On other sites to control this:.... 2 clicks or more takes you to the type of report, gives you 11 choices of “type of report” , 3rd click to choose the type….. then requires you to give a few additional details, to explain….then after you entered the explanation you click “report” to file your complaint.
You cannot send a report without adding at least a brief explanation.
Other websites, by making it just a tiny bit more difficult like that, have found that the number of reports drop considerably.
About that discussion going on the QA board about changes to iHub boards.
Another idea is to have just 1 mod per board. This would give the board more continuity and allow admin to easily monitor/track a mod's performance
Thanks,
Red
There is a discussion going on the QA board about changes to iHub boards.
What about, on the stock boards showing how many reads each post gets. Just a number in brackets beside the post that would show members how many reads their post gets or others
Thanks,
Red
My ihub boards are working but I can only see them or
read them with a magnify glass? -
I most hold magnify glass with one hand and write with
only one hand?
Is any one more with the same problem or what can I do
about?
TIA
Ps.
ex. I tried to read the message bellow and even
with a magnify glass I can not read them - its
only ihub message boards I have a problem with to
read because everything and all messages are way
/ way to small -
please, I have been here a long time but recently
more and more ihubbers start to be less and less -
why is the boardas destroyed like this???
Please, do you have any suggestions for me???
I have run 3 virus scans and malaware etc. to see
if it is a virus / restarted the computer etc.
but nothing helps???
Why is ihub destroyed for me?
Is it destroyed for more members?
Or what is going on???
That would be great.
Here is a novel idea in the realms of impartiality, why not get impartial moderators to oversee the boads?
I will use DRNK as an example. Most of us own stock in this company but, there are a few trolls on this site
That rudely bash this stock for no reason! Thye admittedly own no shares thems selves but verbaly belittle
The stock owners..
We report them for violating the TOS and 1 out of 100 posts gets removed leaving the worst ones in play.
We stick up for ourselves and we get banned or have our posts removed!
I beg IHUB TO REVIEW THE ADMINISTRATORS AND THE MODERATORS as none of this seems fair
To say the least!
Stop moderators from controlling and taking over entire boards. I have seen both situations. Either promoting pumping or bashing and deleting posts of those with a different opinion. I have seen this a few times. Most recently and by far the worst is TPAC. I know of many paying members who have left because of this.
I'll vote for that. Great idea. I was actually going to post it, but see that you beat me to it. (my first visit to this board)
I think a great feature would be the ability to order the columns however you want. This is currently not the case in any view...
Another thing is the favourite forums view.... Why not put the daily quote there? There is plenty of room.
Dear IHUB mobile programmers: it would be a welcomed and appreciated feature for many if we could edit posts made in the mobile app instead of having to visit the web page. Thanks
How about an "Ignored By" counter like the "Followed By" counter that shows how many people are ignoring a particular user. Maybe that would make some consider their misguided postings.
DID the whole layout change? noticed some changes today. dont like when you click on someones name, you cant see their info on the first page. now you have to click on alot the diffrent tabs just to see what you could with just one click. not a huge fan of the extra clicks.
Happy New Year.....I have a suggestion....I find myself constantly scrolling down my Favorite boards list of about 70 boards. Is there a way I could organize that list? Say...instead of alphabetical order that it is now....to most visited order....or most read....or maybe put the trader discussion rms on top and then list the rms by stock symbol? Thanks! IHUB rocks!

Not sure this is the right place to post by the Level 2 and Trades Java applets don't run well with Apple Safari and Google Chrome's browser.
With Safari, I can start the quote streamer but it resets each time I leave the page tab
With Chrome, it remains stuck on detecting Java settings
Any suggestion or plan to address this issue?
thanks

It would be very handy to be able to "group" favorites (boards or people) in some way. There are boards I like to read daily, and some I want to just track in the background. Similarly, I know people that are part of various online communities (i.e. stocks, football, etc.)
A suggestion for Ihub.
I have a laptop that frequently has a "wandering cursor". Apparently it's fairly common on laptops (based on help sites, I've gone to).
It would be helpful to those of us with this affliction, if we were able to use function keys i.e. (alt n) for next message, etc.
Maybe this is already in place and I just haven't figured it out yet. However, if these prompts were on the screen, it would also be helpful.
Thanks.
A couple of suggestions for the board.
Whenever you click someone's profile, they often leave a lot of fields blank. Wouldn't it look better if you only display the fields in which a user has entered information in? So if I for example only added my interests and quotes, only those two fields would show up when someone clicks my profile.
Another one, not sure if you have this, but I can't find it: The ability to search a specific user's posting history for certain words. So if ABC has 2000 posts, and I want to find all his posts in which he says "Hello", it'd display it for me...
Oh, and when you click someone's profile and look at their posts, it says: "Total Posts:1000". Shouldn't there be a space after the colon?
Matt,
Other than the following commands, which commands can be used in the IBOX box?
[ b ]
[ i ]
[ u ]
[ pre ]
Is this a text ONLY box? And why?
I'd like to use HTML commands such as
<a href>
<img src>
Any plans to add these if there isn't another command I can use?
As always,
Dave
It would be nice if the "new message" indicator wouldn't show anything if the new posts were just spam that got removed by the chairperson.
Also, It would be nice to have a way to "clear" the new message indicator without going into each board and opening the most recent message.
TIA
Why does the index say that there are 94 posts on this board and that the last one was on 5/13? The actual last message on this board was 89 on 3/20 by Vendit.
Just problems coming out of Beta?
I think IHUB needs some T-shirts with the logo and a promo of some sort.
I have an extensive background in advertising campaign creation and already have some T-shirt designs in mind if you ever wish to move in that direction.
You can use them as weekly give a-ways plus sell them on the site.
:8-)
Reid
Just like you use the [ ] for italics...
Just put "pre" in there and it will do it.
Example:
[ pre ]
matt's table
[ /pre ]
Obviously, take the spaces out of the tags.
mb
Be nice to have fixed font for tables.
Jack
Ah, great point. I would definitely cast my vote for speed over quotes.
Yes, we will have quotes. I don't think we'll have them on every page, but we'll see. Kind of slows things down, IMO.
Cold in Florida? Ha! I'm looking out the window at 17°.
EDIT: Why do I get kicked back to my profile(occasionally) when I make a post?
August:
>>Yes, we will have quotes. I don't think we'll have them on every page, but we'll see. Kind of slows things down, IMO.
>>This site is more based on tickers. Whether it's a stock club or a individual stock, easiest way to drive around here is by tickers.
>>Having a COLD weekend down here in Florida!
mb
do you guys have plans to add quotes to the bottom of a stock thread's page? Just curious, not that big of a deal.
Also, any considerations to having the search default to "subjects" instead of stock symbol?
Hope you are having a good weekend.
Thanks Matt.
BTW, why do I get thrown back to my profile when I post a message?
EDIT: This post did not. it seemed to work fine. But the previous messagew I posted did. and I had to back my browser up to see where the message went, FWIW.
