Something bad is going on with this company. I do not own any shares but I am a customer. I can barely hear my phone some times, they changed my contract after they purchased Qwest and have limited my dial up access, and to top it all of phone boxes destroyed over a year ago were repaired by placing an orange plastic tarp over it, recently it was noticed the tarp was over a year old and a new smaller plastic tarp was taped over the old one.
Here it is I thought all that money they were saving was going to you guys.
I had Qwest for 10 plus years and never had a problem, since the buyout nothing but.
And yes before you come up with the crack about paying my bill I do generally 2 months in advance.
CenturyLink revises capital allocation strategy
http://www.streetinsider.com/Press+Releases/CenturyLink+revises+capital+allocation+strategy/8092467.html
MONROE, La., Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) today announced that the company's board of directors has authorized certain capital allocation initiatives that further enable its strategy of investing in key drivers to stabilize and grow operating revenues.
The CenturyLink board has authorized the repurchase of up to an aggregate $2.0 billion of the company's outstanding common stock. The company expects to execute this share repurchase program primarily in open market transactions, subject to market conditions and other factors, and expects to complete the program by its scheduled termination date of February 13, 2015. CenturyLink intends to fund the share repurchase program primarily with free cash flow generated by the business.
In connection with the new repurchase program, the board also indicated its intention to revise the company's quarterly dividend rate to $0.54 from $0.725 per share. The board expects to approve this new rate at its next regularly-scheduled meeting on February 26, 2013, with the change effective with the March 2013 quarterly dividend payment.
CenturyLink also expects to utilize a portion of its free cash flow generated in 2013 and 2014 to repay debt and maintain leverage at less than 3.0 times EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization).
"CenturyLink has made significant progress over the last several years in improving our top-line revenue trend," said Glen F. Post, III, chief executive officer and president. "We have continued to achieve strong operating revenue performance, cash flows and broadband growth, and we remain focused on enhancing long-term shareholder value.
"The share repurchase program, which will be accretive to free cash flow per share, along with our very competitive cash dividend, will enable us to significantly increase the total cash returned to our shareholders in 2013 and 2014. Additionally, we are positioning the company to maintain a dividend payout ratio of less than 60 percent of free cash flow after we have fully utilized our federal income tax net operating loss carryforwards," said Post.
"We are confident that the capital allocation initiatives we announced today will allow us to continue our investments to drive strategic revenue growth, while maintaining our focus on creating long-term shareholder value," concluded Post.

I agree with ya bro...I take 'em personal myself.. I had a bunch of Quest and made the trade earlier once the deal was done.... Phone companies have jacked with consumers for years and doesn't look like any slowdown on that any time soon...
Selling My Shares of CTL I take all my trades as personal since it is my money. Yes have had personal bad customer service and fell for Century Links False Advertising to change the views of Quest customers
Link retraction? or is that a personal view point...
Flase Press Release Century Link does not want Business Account in the Phoneix area
WORST BUSINESS TELEPHONE SERVICE EVER.... Changing the Quest Bad Service Model is a joke! Earning will be going down if there customer service doesn't improce.
SHORT THIS STOCK
best way in this market...
Nope , just common .
They are now the 3rd largest so I would say that they are pretty solid.... The divi is fine as long as you don't attempt buying preferred at this time to get a bigger piece. With interest rates so low it will only hurt in the long run as the interest rates rise.
There might be a push to go further then they are now. CTL is normally a conservatively ran company but I live in Indiana and before I followed the stock I never heard of them . Now for the last 2 months there has been a big media push here . For land line of course but a 5 year price lock guarantee on broad bban internet . Tells me at the very least , the dividend is safe .
It's a done deal and the divi's are always the positive...They pay my taxes on properties I have so it's a nice bonus....They walked into a deal here and yes the upside potential is smaller as any small cap company will have a greater upside to it but also a riskier one to go along with it...Now Q did it's shareholders right so I don't have any complaints there
The pps of quest has the most upside from this deal but I prefer CTL due to the large divy . I have been watching lately for a big drop from the Europe situation but I don't know if I am going to get it . Quest MIGHT double in pps but after 11 Divy payments from CTL a double is a guarantee plus any increase in pps . It's not exciting but who.cares , its all about the money . Besides I like to use my divys as powder for penny trades .
