I guess Biden just wants to buy lithium batteries from other countries.
Pretty quiet on this front, today should be a little better.
I can't believe that this won't soar in the coming months. It's about time also. I'm old fashion, still believe in gas, but looks like this is the future.
I live in this area and they are hiring for all sorts of positions, environmental coordinatior, health and safety engineers, etc. https://www.lithiumamericas.com/careers/
"a push to make Nevada the lithium capital of North America”
Nevada the “lithium capital of North America,”
Construction ?? has started on TP! The US Government wants lithium mined on it's own soil so America is not dependent on a foreign Country for EV battries! Looking for $60 PPS in 12 months.
I don't think the lawsuits will prevail.
The gift that keeps on giving- but giving bad signs...
Uggh! More lawsuits filed this week. WTF
UP and down like a $10.00 whore all the time...
NICE TO HAVE TAKEN A POSITION IN A ACTUAL REAL LITHIUM STOCK
Why doesn’t his damn administration address the price of diesel fuel?
Get that down and everything else will follow!
GLTA
GAP existed at $22.20 prior Tuesday's PR... negative tone across all US indices because of Biden's failed economy and lies to the reality of the Country today...
Only plausible reason this didn’t jump more is that in the GM agreement it references contingent on Judge’s decision and “other” matters
Otherwise why wouldn’t the PPS blown the roof off?!?!
GLTA
Up friggin 9%. I mean f——. Really?
GLTA
Ok! Starting to move now!
Fly, LAC, Fly!

God it's like yesterday with CNBC spumping 5 top tech's on Nasdaq all day, earnings after close, and then they tank reporting worse revenues, numbers, sales, etc.. as was expected Q4 2022... Just pulling in new retail $$$ so those bigger hands can double down and shortsell against that liquidity..
Don’t disagree
Can’t let facts get in the way! LOL
Sold my options and will sell my stock position on news of Judge, hopefully, deciding in our favor
But the fact is, as there is so much lithium deposits worldwide when production catches up there will be more supply than demand
All in the timing IMHO
GLTA
In my mind, partnering with a large exploration type company say like XOM or CVX, who are experts at extracting & processes would have made more sense- not a stupid PR article of "WHAT MIGHT BE IF CERTAIN THINGS COME TO FRUITION" play like with this GM article?? BESIDES, DIDN'T GM JUST AX SOME ELECTRIC VEHICLES production too???
I want to know all details and is this "GM investment" CONTINGENT only ON SUCCESSFUL CLEARING OF ALL legal matters AND COURT HEARINGS?
Right now, this is only an LOI in my mind, as the last 2 years, LAC has been operating as a land acquisition company at best...
What happened 2 days ago was an options play at best if folks had call options and took profit within last 48 hours...
GM I hate today. I bought my last GMC truck 3 years ago, quality sucks and nothing but problems. Also a former GM shareholder years ago wiped out in their BK when Obama bailed them out with taxpayer funds. I have no love for GM, or this stock even at this point...
Holy I'd never seen that

A few thoughts on $ALB & $TSLA. How soon will Elon’s #lithium Achilles Heel limit @Tesla’s growth? My guess is much sooner than he could imagine in his worst nightmare. #FirstPrinciples pic.twitter.com/we3X8Ff2CR

You’re 100% right. Deal but no deal. But as I believe you know the stock market reacts to innuendo, rumors, and sometimes facts. Why I just sold my options and kept stock. Not sure the Judge is going to like GM/LAC putting potentially perceived pressure on her to rule in their favor
As far as processes to separate lithium from clay simply Google it
GLTU
I don't get it.....
I do not believe they have a pilot plant. But we both know there are processes out there to separate lithium from clay. Which one they use I do not know. But obviously GM does. Bought call options a month ago and they over doubled and sold today. Still own stock though. When Judge decision comes in and if it’s positive - BAM- again!
GLTU
Yeah really eh ?.....OMG

"GM will make a $650 million equity investment in Lithium Americas $LAC, which represents the largest-ever investment by an automaker to produce battery raw materials. Lithium Americas estimates the lithium extracted and processed from the project can support production of up to 1 million EVs per year."
Great news for Lithium Americas. Also displays market confidence in clay based #lithium projects $LCE $NILI $NRM $SPMT and other projects currently to secure funding/strategic partnerhsips $CRE
But.......I've thought that they hadn't even figured out how to DO IT yet.....HOW to get the lith outta the clay.....Like, does LAC even have any pilot plants goin' ?

$LAC: My price predcition for $TLOFF is $5
Its the best environmentally friendly option for NICKEL in the US.
And they are already approved supplier to TESLA !

What your price prediction for TLOFF?
$LAC: GM needs nickel as well for battery production
Where is that NICKEL gonna come from ???
Look no further than $TLOFF.............. Talon Metals
GO $LAC
Wow! GM in!
Now, here comes da Judge! LOL

If the Judge’s decision is in favor of LAC, $38 will be a stepping stone

Betting Judge sides with Biden administration and common sense
GLTA
Yeah me too. Been watching. Seems like my feelings last year to this prove right again, they are simply becoming a land acquisition company...
Now stock at new all time lows... ???
ONLY ones to benefit are the Insiders of Corp if true. Worst comes to worst, they can always sell land to Govt for solar panel farms and they become enriched- Shareholders lose all in the end again, though Shareholder funds are what made all these land purchases... I seen it all too many times. This Admin we have is NOT business friendly- ONLY private deal friendly...
Patiently waiting for financial independence to arrive in the form of successful lithium miner investments. IMO I think $LAC will be one of those investments. $LAC long and strong!
Haven't been here in a while, pretty quiet.
$GWSO 750mile range battery
Good points too, thanks. I am still hoping for the best, especially in NV, but I will wait and see how this new situation develops. I have also done quite well with this stock with several excellent swing trades and an average around $8.5 in my core position.

We've been giving all the "handouts" to China the past few decades with previous administrations which has dug the gigantic "hole" that this administration is finally starting to crawl our way out of it. About time some of that money gets to developing our own resources. China has control over 50% of all the Li mining in the world and 75% of the big battery factories.
It was US companies, RCA, a US co at the time, that started and developed the chip industry in Taiwan then selling to GE which in turn sold to foreign investors. For decades since then it's been US money that has put into other places but here. We've been handing out trillions of our hard earned money into the development elsewhere (in the long run, mostly to China).
So the Biden administration is the one that has done this much into developing this nations resources and starting to dig out of a very deep hole that the previous administrations put us in. All the last one did was give money to China for all the red hats and political flags produced over there and paid more taxes to China than was paid to the US.
China has also done nothing but give handouts constantly to their production and getting control of bulk of Li and batteries (all types) and working on taking over the 1/2 a trillion $ a year of sales to the US from Taiwan.
Yea I think that the some of this big business that has been making big profits from "handing out" all our money developing other countries production to developing the US resources and supplies. But that's not the way the world works and somehow the big boys still got to make their profit, hence our "handouts".
Because if we don't develop here, our "handouts" will continue to going over there. Of course newer forms of energy besides big oil will activate some politicians anger and bs misinformation trying to protect their 100's of millions of money from the big oil lobby which in the end comes out of our pocket one way or another.
So we have to get something done to encourage American companies to develop instead of the previous ways that was being done and stop damaging our environment so much which is costing the American people trillions every year on top of the price at the pump.
If it takes companies like LAC to create a full American company with more jobs and getting a "handout", so be it. Because without incentives, it will never happen and that money will still be being spent, just not on the US. So good to see that this administration is trying to fill the horrific hole the previous one(s) have dug.
On a side note, still making good money with LAC. Got out, back in and trading along the way. All goes in how you play it.
$LAC hod27.27 opened over the $25R and tapping $27's Has room to run! #Moon >40
I understand your position. I am not a big fan of handouts either but I will take it if helps NV. However, I am still on the fence about this split. I am beginning to think that it is due to a combination of LAC trying to get the federal funding and the US/Canada playing hard ball with China (Refer to article I posted yesterday). What puzzles me is that Cauchari was going to generate hundreds of millions per year, which would have helped fund NV and I doubt that the Federal funding would exceed more than that plus it would be a one time deal (Piedmont received $142M). So only the LAC in South America will benefit from Cauchari as Gangfeng calls the shots and probably buys the whole thing. Maybe I am missing something (?) because the stock has been going up since yesterday. I am still holding and happy with the bump, but I remain cautious about the recent news.
My response posted twice and I edited this one, sorry. Please see my other post.
I am against handpouts and this Administration dug a real deep hole now, and what I am watching is regionals and major banks consolidating and pulling back like in late 70's, and this is not good for anyone out there... Another .75% rate hike yesterday by Fed, another coming before end of year and after... ANYONE without a fixed rate loan/mortgage already in place will be crippled in every way, and a National diesel shortage not being reported honestly, with maybe 25 day supply at best right now for all diesel needs in USA!
…I guess that I will be happy if NV gets the green light, gets federal funding or it is sold at a nice price. I am just not so sure about Cauchari as I don’t like Gangfeng calling the shots in terms of decisions, buyers, pricing, etc. I simply don’t trust them and I would not doubt if Gangfeng would start playing games in order to buy LAC’s portion of Cauchari cheap. It is ironic that LAC would not be able to use the only asset that is about to generate revenue to help NV, where this revenue would probably dwarf any Federal funding. I hope that I am wrong.
My read is similar and I would have preferred to keep the company as it is now. One possible reason for this proposal is that it may be easier for NV to obtain some of the funding help from Biden’s infrastructure bill if the company has no ties to China (Gangfeng). Piedmont Lithium just received $142M from this source for is TN plant, and Lithium NV would probably try to do the same. The other possibility is that one or both of the new companies may be set for a buyout and this split is in preparation for such event. Whichever the reason for the split, I hope it works out for us, but I have my doubts ever since LAC allowed Gangfeng to own 51% of Cauchari, which was a mistake IMHO. And speaking of the Chinese:
