No cancelation of debt. No cancelation of debt. No COD, No COD.
LEHMAN is not obligated to pay remaining debt if all asset is prorated to creditors. No need to cancel either because there is nothing left to pay them. The remaining debt will just become uncollectible.
Understand the mechanics. All asset is owned by the creditors so new investors must come in to capitalize ,
The selling of the 2.5B intercompany claim is just one way of doing it. It will pay creditors without selling the asset.
The new business will be the combination of NOL and the new Capital investments .
Discussion for all lehman
is on the LEHNQ board.
was looking for some help,...I recently received something about a class action setlement, in regards to Lehman Bro., and was wondering if any here could tell me more about it, or point me to the right board. It looks as though there is something like 99 million dollars in settlement proceeds. I held, or I guess would still hold, because I never sold my position, the 1000 dollar par value pfds. Does anyone have any details about this, pennies on the dollar amount or where I sit in the pecking order of this claim. Thanks in advance for any help.
If I understand good in the new civilization it is better to send only copy by internet to help us government or to avoid problems
In 2007-2008, I think most people wanted to stop to follow such messages to privilege such adwebsittes like facebook

That is the old trustee.
Oh yea, I'm just real sure that someone truly needed the $50.

Not sure if the BELOW is correct person, doubtful, but it's a starting point.

Could someone please give me the Trustees name and number. I would love to pick his brain while the prospectus is in my left hand..
No real updates as far as reorganization....but lots of stuff going on concerning another class of securities (UK trust preferreds) seeking recovery. Could be good for us. I suggest following the LEHNQ board....in particular recent posts by cottonisking (easily the best DD on that board). I am just in wait mode, watching and waiting. April could bring good things for the cap trusts!
Good morning! Any updates on possible or actual reorganization?
Upon further research, I believe that my computer vision problems are from a mild case of iritis - inflamation of the iris - which includes light sensitivity.
Here is an interesting blog that you may find helpful -
http://www.iritis.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=867
Thanks Linda! I do appreciate the info! We will read up on the possible connection and go from there...
Take care!
And go CTs/Prefs/and Commons!
Here is a link to an article that says that heavy usage of a computer - especially by near-sighted users - could lead to glaucoma.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4008185.stm
And here is another link to an article that that says that usage of a computer can cause blurred vision, double vision, headaches, etc.
http://www.webmd.com/eye-health/computer-vision-syndrome
I haven't really done much research on the topic , but I did once read an article that said that one should rest the eyes from the computer for at least 15 minutes after 50 minutes of use - and I have also read that an antiglare sheet to fit over the screen could be helpful too.
The yams/squash in one's daily diet is just my own observation.
Linda,
I know this is off-topic, but my wife has recently started vision-therapy and has also been using her computer a lot over the last few years. It sounds like there could be a connection between the two. Have you found any websites along the way that helped you connect vision problems with increased computer use?
Thanks for any suggestions you have!
Until I bought my computer in 2007 I had very healthy eyes. I find that staying off the computer for a few days and eating yams/squash - which are high in beta - carotene - clears up the blurriness and sharpens my vision.
You are quite correct that we should be more careful with our health as we age.
Thanks very much - HI to you too.
The LEHNQ board sure is busy.
I and others here do wish you well Linda. We appreciate your intellegent posts and assistance over the years we have been here.
As I get older my vision is not what it use to be, and I think it is good advice to realize we have other important things that we can do rather than tax our vision by staring at a screen.
Thank you Linda!!!!! :)
LINDA,saw your post and just wanted to say hi.
My vision is very light sensitive now for over use of my computer in the last few years. I just go on line now for a few hours a week. And so no more long hours of research for me anymore and no more investing for the time being. I am just holding what I have now invested to the end.
Hi Linda,
Nice to hear from you.
I think that is a very broad statement, and I hope they have us in mind to ease our pain.
:)
Very true - thanks for the clarification.
This line is not shown as a quote from Lehmans, just the author's words in an article:
Hi. How are you doing?
What do you think of this excerpt from the news release in the link below?
" Lehman sees monetization of Archstone holdings as a way to repay creditors and shareholders hurt by the collapse of the investment banking giant, which helped worsen the U.S. financial crisis of 2007 and 2008. "
http://www.costar.com/News/Article/Lehman-Bros-Files-to-Take-Archstone-Public/140673
I think it is hopeful that Lehman is mentioning the shareholders.
Quiet around here since everyone is on the N board.
Great stuff posted by Argus...

My Scottrade is showing it trading at a penny.
My scottrade is now showing LEHLQ as a valid symbol with a last price.
WOW I CAN'T BELIEVE MY ACCOUNT BALANCE TODAY ! Just joking not yet
Only what i put in there to try and buy more,,,,,lol
Anyone get any $$$$$ in their accounts today?
Post bankruptcy absolutely will not matter. The only reason some lehman shareholders are talking about pre/post had to do with a separate suit initiated by a certain group of preferred shareholders. In the suit they required only pre BK shareholders receive a settlement. That basically has nothing to do with CT holders or the Lehman reorganization in general. When we hear of a reorganization, current CT shareholders may see their shares replaced by new common shares in the reorganized company. We may even have to fill forms out in the future to do so. I believe CT holders will receive a ratio that makes everyone more than happy (FV or close to it). JMHO
HESTHENAN, GREAT POST!!!
QUESTION, most of our / my shares POST bankruptcy. Thoughts?
Keep up the good work.
Good post. Now the question CT holders have to ask themselves is why did "they" put us "here"? I've posted many, MANY times on what I believe the scenario will be. Keep in mind, if there was no plan in store for CT's "they" would have just as easily let CTs return to the grey market. This has been an NOL play all along. There will be MUCH hidden value to be revealed when the new Lehman comes to light. Why do you think the first initial payout to creditors is going to be TWICE as much as what was originally stated? "They" are moving on this and a reorganization is definitely in the works. For all of those who were lucky enough to buy in when these stocks were readily available....congratulations. It will take time, but we will be rewarded greatly IMO.
well there have been several years to buy them- they are no longer available imo for internal reasons only Lehmans has the answers to and "they "are not talking - "they" have the CTs right where "they" want them - thats pretty much to the bottom of it - if you want in its too late -if you want out its too late
it will be awhile before any light is shed upon these -imo
Relax and place your GTC order....It really doesn't matter what the trades are now or the pps unless you are wanting in...If you are wanting out there is no worry either (No sells apparent).....
Please post to the board any unsolicided attempts (from undisclosed sources) to buy shares.....That does matter (but only from a curiosity standpoint).....LOL...
Okay, let's get to the bottom of this ...
First, I own CTs, and I want more.
I called my broker two days in a row. They tried checking with different departments like preferred, fixed income, reorg, etc., and got nothing. They put an open order out there with MMs for me and have received no response. The main person I dealt with feels that they are "expired," but I told him that they aren't, and I told him exactly what happened (accidentally delisted, then shoved on grey sheets, and preferred and commons lumped into the big share). I explained to him that they are actually worth something and that it appears that someone is trying to hide them away. He doesn't know what else to do other than just leave an open GTC order out there for me. I told him I would research further and get back to him.
Can Lehman be reached and what is their number? Let's force the issue. I hope that the MMs won't raise the ask to $1.00 or more.
Chessman
I see that someone has an offer to buy 100 shares for a dime each, anybody want to sell a few?
From your lips to God's ear.
That's above my pay grade.
are they going to be converted to Barclay's stock?

Thanks for the update.Hopefully our lottery tickets can be traded.
Always a crap shoot but for the money worth a gamble imo.
I received the following information this morning from a Fidelity chat session:
Jamie Cupp: Ok, I just clarified some things with my back office colleague.
Jamie Cupp: The two positions that you have mentioned[LHHMQ and LEHLQ] are anticipated to be reversed later this afternoon.
Jamie Cupp: We do not have a definite time though.
Ankle Biter: Fantastic
Jamie Cupp: That is all of the information that my reorganization team has at this time.
Ankle Biter: Who does the reversing?
Jamie Cupp: The security master that is reorganizing the security.
Ankle Biter: We're done then, thank you!
Amazing huh?

I saw this temporarily on State Street also and was going to contact them, but then saw it was corrected. I'm assuming it was an alphabetical list they chose from since they are so close in spelling...
If you use Fidelity, you may want to verify that your History looks correct.
I finally got mine straightened out via an IM chat session, but at first Fidelity didn't see that there was a mistake.
Here's the chat session:

System: Connected with Fidelity person. Your Reference Number for this chat is xxxxxxxx.
Fidelity person: Good Afternoon, Ankle Biter!
Fidelity person: I apologize for the wait time.
Fidelity person: I am happy to review our account.
Fidelity person: I am researching the merger details from the Lehman Brothers Holders
Preferred position (52520B206),
and they were paying out to this new position.
Ankle Biter: Well then there IS a mistake, Leiner Health is not a part of the deal.
Fidelity person: I am calling our reorganization department about this entry.
Ankle Biter: Thank you.
Fidelity person: With the bankruptcy proceedings, your X share position of Lehman
Brothers PFD (LEHLQ) was moved to an escrow position called Leiner Health Product. This
escrow position will allow you to receive any distributions from the previous holding,
which was done by the bankruptcy courts.
Ankle Biter: That makes no sense, all of the other Lehman Brothers positions that were
moved to an escrow position had the name Lehman in there somewhere, not Leiner.
Ankle Biter: Look up the CUSIP 525ESC117, what comes up?
Fidelity person: Leiner Health Products Escrow.
Ankle Biter: If the escrow position does not have "Lehman" somewhere in it, I contend
that a mistake has been made.
Fidelity person: I was trying to do some research about Leiner Health Products to see how
they were related to Lehman Brothers.
Ankle Biter: Do that.
Ankle Biter: If you look at my history, you will also see and entry:
Ankle Biter: 03/09/2012 MERGER
524ESC720 LEHMAN BORS HLDING DPS
Cash Shares: +X
Ankle Biter: BORS?
Fidelity person: I do see those entries. My back office is researching how they received
the information about that security.
Fidelity person: Our back office did some additional research, and it has just updated on
your History screen.
Fidelity person: Thank you for your patience, but they checked the file that they
received from the reorganization group, and were able to update the name give to
use from the Escrow DTC agent.
Fidelity person: Were you able to view this recent update on your History screen?
Ankle Biter: Thanks for your persistence, now one more update should remove the two
instances of BORS..
Ankle Biter: As long as everything points to Lehman, I'm happy.
Ankle Biter: G'day
Fidelity person: Thank you for your business, and I hope you have a great weekend!
System: Fidelity person has left this session!
System: The session has ended!
I've been in Lehlq since 9/2009. I've noticed the volume was getting strong so I was surprised when scottrade notified me about the #.
No symbol changes or news that I have read. I am just patiently holding like I have since 2008.
Has there been any intimation that there would be a symbol change or anything else which might put the stop sign up? I didn't think there was a final decision made on the fate of the CTs yet.
