I get it NOW! I was thinking that they were in Purgatory from the very first episode, but after reading this article and the comments I now think that when Juliet detenoted the bomb at the end of Season 5 is when they all truly died due to the explosion. That explosion is what sunk the island to the bottom of the sea and that is why at the beginning of Season 6 Juliet said in her last breathe, "It worked".

In Season 6 we then saw 2 possible Purgatories play out. One with what would happen had the island not blown up and the other a world where the dead could now contemplate whether to "move on" vs. remaining on the island (in their minds).

The ending was meant to explain that no matter how one dies, it is important to remember the people in our lives and how we aid and comfort each other through the good and the bad parts of life. Once that is accomplished we can "move on" to the final reward.

ABC just announced that on Sunday, May 23, there will be a 2 hour Series Recap from
7-9PM followed by the Series Finale from 9-11PM and then followed by a special Jimmy Kimmel LIVE broadcast called: LOST: THE FINAL ROSE!

Tonite's EVERYBODY LOVES HURLEY EPISODE was AWESOME!

I am having a FINAL EPISODE Party at my house on May 23, 2010. That night, I am asking all of the participants to determine the ending of the series. This post is the beginning of my theory of what LOST has been all about.

To prove that I am ME, I am posting the following phrase that I am sure that my guests will recognize that I am truly me....

The phrase is "I AM DAVE FROM THE LAGER CAFE, ERIE, PA!"

With that officially clarified, here are my current thoughts on LOST....

This is Biblical in nature. Jesus, calls people to Him, but satan is constantly trying to interfere with that relationship. The "Wine" that MIB broke is a pun.

Jacob (Jesus) shed his blood to cover our sin. When we accept that gift, we are protected from the
consequence of sin, and have eternal life.

MIB, breaks it out of spite.

Jacob is saying my blood has paid the price already, marinate on that.....Jacob is an angel, but remember so is satan, represented by MIB.

The white rock represents good, the black evil, the scales the balance. The candidates, all of us--we fall short, we do stupid things, but if we are among those with Christ (Jacob) we are "among the chosen".

Satan is a liar, he mixes the truth with lies. Some of Jacob's facial expressions led me to believe that he might actually be the evil one.

If he was Jesus, he could bring people back from the dead, so perhaps, he is the Holy Spirit.

Or, God, who doesn't force Himself on anyone, but calls people to him (brings them to the island) and let's them decide who they will follow.

Who they will trust and for how long. Satan(MIB) is always looking for a way in.

His ways will consume (black smoke) all who give themselves over to him. He sees your faults (Black smoke does as well). It is all very interesting and theological.

I've decided it's mostly Biblical. At first I thought these two were Cain and
Abel, because Cain kills Abel, but now that it's been revealed that they are in hell, I'm thinking otherwise.

There was mention in the first season of Adam and Eve.

Oh, one more thing. Before the beginning, Satan vacated heaven and took a third of the angels with him. I also thought that maybe MIB represents Satan as he's been talking about whoever doesn't go with him will die.

I think that you cant believe a single thing that either of them tell anyone ... I still think that there is a big twist or two to come. They are pushing white VS black, and the white VS black stone, etc ... something is gonna give ...

After the episode I truly thought that the "alternate" world that we are seeing is really a flashforward of how the world is really like without the island and without Jacob, its starting to look like the only scenario that coincides with the island being under water and the way storylines are headed, MIB gets off the island, Jacob is destroyed, no more misery, etc but, again ... big twists are surely to come.

During the show, I started thinking that maybe JACOB was EVIL and MIB was the GOOD GUY, but by the end I changed my mind back to MIB is EVIL and JACOB is GOOD.

All along, I felt that there would be much more story to tell about the BLACK ROCK!

Hi Tanaka!

Nice to see you here!

I wouldn't be too hasty in assuming that the Valenzetti Equation no longer has anything to do with the LOST story.

I can't imagine the producers ending this series without allowing that the Dharma people truly felt a correlation to the numbers, although their correlation might have been far from the Truth of the matter.

As each week progresses now, I am seeing a stronger and stronger correlation between the acts of GOOD vs. the acts of EVIL.

I am suspecting that the Dharma Initiative was clearly on the EVIL side of the "equation".

My current thinking is that the entire concept of this series IS religion based. Although the producers stated in Season 2 that the "losties" are NOT in purgatory, it didn't necessarily rule out the premise of "religiosity" or "good vs. evil".

The toughest thing for me is to still determine whether Jacob is GOOD and Fake Locke is EVIL, or if it may be the other way around.

But after tonite's episode I am leaning more toward the JACOB is GOOD and FAKE LOCKE is EVIL.

Why?

Last week, Fake Locke took Sawyer down a ladder to the CAVE of NUMEROLOGY. Considering that people have referred to the ladder that they descended to that cave as JACOB'S LADDER (from the Bibical reference) it makes sense to me that they metaphorically were FALLING down the ladder (as well as LITERALLY as depicted in the episode when Sawyer almost fell).

This week we see something that I see as virtually opposite of that when Jacob takes Hurley and Shephard UP into the lighthouse. The lighthouse to me is very symbolic because it is so very religious in context in that it reflects the religious context of LIGHT vs. DARK. (Keep in mind that when Fake Locke and Sawyer were DOWN in the Cave of Numerology they needed LIGHT in order to even SEE!)

Shepard was shocked and surprised to realize that at the 23rd degree of the Lighthouse Dial he could see the house he grew up in. That fear caused him to shatter the Lighthouse Mirrors.

Afterwards Jacob explains to Hurley that sometimes some people can be just told what to do (referring to when Jacob got in the back of the Taxi with Hurley and simply told him that he must go back to the island) and yet at other times some people need to just be allowed to look out to the ocean for a while.

All of this points very much to the religiosity of the series.

One last thought...

When Fake Locke told Sawyer that Jacob "has a thing for numbers" that may not be necessarily true. It could easily be that it is Fake Locke is the one that "has a thing for numbers" and not Jacob. Hence, why the Valenzetti Equation should not be ruled out as yet.

Hopefully my thoughts haven't gotten LOST on anyone!

When I saw the first flash forward at the end of season 3, I was certainly confused about what I was seeing and I didn't think that I liked it all that much.

Jack has always been the central character of the show however, although his character was suppose to die in the first episode: "Pilot, Part1".
He was the first character to flash back as well as flash forward: Which has become one of the biggest surprise twists of the show, overall.

In an effective literary style, the flash forward shows us Jack off the island,despondent with his life: Unshaven, worn out on booze and prescription drugs, Jack keeps hopping airplanes hoping to return to the island, somehow, or die in the process. Why is Jack suicidal now that he's off the Island?

It'll be interesting to see how Jack leaves the Island. Why is he so convinced that leaving the Island was a big mistake? What does he hope to accomplish by returning? Perhaps the mysterious properties of the Island will help Jack right a wrong from the past?

Only the Island has the answers to these questions and it's waiting!

I love to get LOST

Without yet having seen any of Season 4 episodes, I am thinking that the Oceanic Six NEED to return to the island to set things right!

When all is said and done at the wrap up of this story, I am believing that Jack realized that he never should have left the island in the first place, and by returning to it he is attempting to fix the past.

Cool. I believe the last episodes I have seen was when Desmond finally got ahold of his x-girlfriend and his dual time flashbacks stopped. That was the lasst episode , i think ?

So Original, what did you think of your
wild ride through Season 3?

In season 3 we learn who the Others are and
we find out how and why their leader Benjamin Linus
wrestled control of the island from DHARMA through
the Purge.

The perceived passage of linear time was also
a component of season 3 as we get our first
glimpse of the flashforward and learn that Jack gets off
the island. A decision he comes to regret.

I know I left a lot out but, let's get some discussion
going with all you Losties out there.

the show since before it came on. I've been following
the work of J.J. Abrams for years. TV Guide or
abc.com has show air dates and times.
