Move forward to April 12, 2021.

I've been in this since about 2005, and, to be honest with you all, actually everything is about as good, as it'll get for our wild and crazy Iraq Dinar.

Today was the best day in 20 years, as the newest leaders finally said the Iraq government has total control of the corruption, especially the Central Bank, no more corruption at the CBI.

Oil is in the 60's again, all debts are paid or written off and the Kurds are actually happy with the HCL.

If it doesn't go soon, it's probably not going to go for another year.

AP: Iraq's central bank devalues dinar by 22% amid public anger.

BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraq's Central Bank on Saturday announced it will devalue the Iraqi dinar by over 20 percent in response to a severe liquidity crisis brought on by low oil prices, a measure that has sparked public outrage as the government struggles to cover its expenses.

In a statement, the Central Bank set the new rate for the dinar, which is pegged to the U.S. dollar, at 1,450 IQD when selling to the Iraqi Finance Ministry. The dinar will be sold to the public at 1,470 IQD and to other banks at 1,460 IQD.

I don't know , but if there's more people out there like him that's got as many as he's got, and if you believe all of those photos online and see all of the billions and billions of them for sale online and on places like ebay, they're not worth the paper they're printed on and not likely to ever be worth more than what they are now.. Probably less the way Iraq looks.. lol

I bought some when a friend of the family told us about them at least that many years ago and so did some of my family.. I sold mine about a year later.. I know one guy that's been buying them for close to 20 years I'm guessing. He must have tens if not hundreds and hundreds of millions of these things .. He bought them up by the shit load for years and I'm not sure if he's not still buying them but I know he had a enough to fill a garbage bag with them at one point.

I doubt he even knows how much he's paid for them and when he sells them and pays a commsssion, if he don't hold them until he dies, he'll be in the hole.. He has passed them out to everybody he knows like candy for 15-20 years for presents hoping he could make everybody rich.. God for his sake, I hope it happens, but I'm not expecting it..

I know people who have been buying these things since the 1990's waiting on this thing to turn upside down.. Viet Dong also..lol.

I know one guy, poor thing, who spent all of his money month after month when his pension came in on them and he's still got a truck load of them.. He passes them out at Christmas time to family...I can't even remember when this actually started or when they got wind of it but it has to have been at least 20 years or more now...I don't know how long it's been going on, but it's been HAPPENING for a very , very long time..

I know what I've often pointed out, back then... I never would of thought of COVID-19 shutting down the Word's economy either.

Heck, anything is possible or so it seems.

Get some time - take a look at ASKH. Not pumping here, it's an empty shell with no debt, current, RM expected in the next 45 days or so, float is 22 million. Worth a hard look - imo.

Had to change my vacation to Dec from May (thanks to Corona). That will put me deployed here in Iraq for 19 months straight without a day off this time around. Too much, but that is life sometimes.

The conspiracy theorist in me says maybe this virus is the catalyst that the US uses to effect a revaluation to save us and the world from financial disaster. But as you’ve often pointed out, geopolitical conditions don’t support a departure from the deteriorating status quo. Folks often compare this to Kuwait which is utter nonsense. Not the same situation. And so long as Iran is in the picture, no way we see any progress. Not to mention the inability to attract and retain a credible leader of government. And the oil price war blows the underlying premise up in smoke. Yeah... maybe our grandkids will see something, lol. You stay healthy and safe!

It’s pretty clear folks are going along status quo and we’ve got a long way to go before we see so much as a tingle. The geopolitics of the region may never play out nor in a manner that nets us much if any return. The incessant hype about dates, rates, contracts, etc. is nauseating. PM Barzani Meets with Iraqi Counterpart in Baghdad (Feb 7th 2019)

ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani met on Thursday with his Iraqi counterpart Adil Abdul-Mahdi in Baghdad.

The two premiers reportedly discussed bilateral ties and ways to resolve the remaining disputes between Erbil and Baghdad.

This is the first visit to Baghdad by PM Barzani since the approval of Iraq’s 2019 budget bill which secured the salaries for Peshmerga and public servants of Kurdistan Region.

No officials statements have yet been made.
