I haven't been investing in pinchers lately, but wanted to point out that the $INDU looks like it is starting to setup for a pinch.

Yesterday - "Bought SBGI at 2.115 a few days ago and profitting. Bought FITB yesterday and down so averaged down to 2.79 Bought UFI this morning at 1.73 and has moved up to 1.84 up .15 as I write."

Today as I write SBGI up 13.48%, FITB up 24%, UFI up 8.1%.

Yesterday - "In the case of my last loss MI not enough time has passed to determine a high for the stock - usually within 2 weeks."

Originally bought MI at 7.16 sold at 5.99, spiked today to 7.84

Summary: Of the 18 stocks I bought and sold since Dec 5, I lost money on four by selling too soon and should not have lost money on ANY, had I waited long enough (8 days).

I did a spreadsheet off all of my trades and what I found is that in most cases I did not keep the stocks long enough and as a result only achieved a small percent of the potential profit.

I am targeting keeping the stocks for roughly 4 to 8 days depending on technicals.

Of the 13 stocks purchased I had a loss on 3 which only occurred due to selling too soon. Two were ultimately were up 26% and 147% respectively.

In the case of my last loss MI not enough time has passed to determine a high for the stock - usually within 2 weeks.

Also, if I buy into a pincher I will probably average down as the planned and most frequent result is an ultimate rise in the stock price.

ABTL is on watch this morning, if the chart turns then I expect an easy 50% on this one. However, be very careful with this one, as with all stock this is could be very dangerous right now.

Watching ABTL for an entry point on Monday. This company shows no long term debt and no short term debt. I suspect the drop in PPS is going to be short lived.

Got lucky today....

I had bought HEV at 4.85 it dropped to 3.85 and recovered today to a high of 4.99 (one trade)closing at 4.75

I sold at 4.98 while I was gone.

Technically it should go higher tomorrow, due to this being the first day that the stock has turned up.

Question for you....

CNBC guests have said that until the last few days the market has been trending up since Nov 20 , 2008.

I have only been investing in "pinchers" since about the end of November.

My question is, How do Pinchers behave when the market trend is down? Do they still recover just not as strongly?

Everything is very slow lot of apprehension. Santa Claus rally faded, maybe a run up to Obama inauguration.

HEV - Not very well at all. MSFG looks like it is turning.

Looks like HEV still tracking lower at 5.20 but so far has had higher lows for the day.

Daily indictators have not turned yet.

Never get down if you made profit. Make a note of why you exited where you did, then follow up with it later and see if you were following the indicators properly.

Agreed, I'm watching it right now, along with some others, but what I notice is that it does not want to go below the 50DMA to easily, that seems to be support.

As long as it keeps trending upwards, we will be fine. Looking at the 15 minute chart shows that it is beginning to base here and that the other indicators are turning up; however, it should be noted that the 15 minute chart is not a good base, just a good start.

Until I see the 60 minute chart turn up, I think we stay at about this level until the next uprising.

Small and micro-caps have been strong and continue to be today (so far) and typically are the first to recover. Consequently, it appears to be a "Bear Market" rally.

Real hard to pick a bottom, CPWN turned up at end of yesterday in the last hour .75 to .93 I bought GGC and it turned down from 1.06 to 1.00 closing at 1.04.

Sold my XOMA at .75

Bought some GGC at 1.03 average. Huge block came through of close to 50,000 shares. Result was a price drop to 1.00, now steady buying of 100 shares has moved price to 1.05

BBI looks good still, even after three days of pop. Be careful and fast though with this one.

If you do buy GBNT be careful, some of the indicators still are showing a down trend; this is not to scare you out or anything.
