Funny, thought about that dude recently myself.
Wondered what happened to him....Had a memory spike about the great spin-off called Elephant Talk...The name alone should have been a head shaker...LOL..
Lets do it before Labor Day. I am going to Beijing on September 2nd, for 2-3 weeks. If I get some good information......
We could invite the 8 or 10 remaining penny players in the world.
I wonder why I-Man suddenly disappeared several months ago. We had a pleasant long-running discussion about blue chips and Index Funds on the ROK board. Maybe the only such discussion about quality investments ever held on IHUB. Oddly, except for his HRCT long ago, our portfolios were remarkably similar. We both own ROK and Vanguard funds.
MrBankRoll just posted on a golf board after a 6-month IHUB absence.
HRCT/CMKX joint partay? Invite Janice, too.
I have a t-shirt. Together, at least $5.15. But in Vegas, much more, I feel.
Why I still have my Harcourt baseball cap in brand new condition. Was that the Florida shareholder's meeting we got those??? Wonder what I could get for it on eBay. 500K shares of HRCT stock? LOL
Make it a grand reunion to include all HRCT former execs.
Bury the hatchet so to speak and resurrect the company.
Surely there's gold in this graveyard!
We need a poll!
I wanna go!...
MJ
We need a reunion in vegas! He might show up. Houseboater? Youknowsoon, Colorado man..m.fun fun fun! Oh and deb from Florida.
If he didn't survive then it would probably be because his severe losses on HRCT drove him go there for work. Also seemed that he and Mrs Moody Blue had split, with HRCT losses playing a large role in that.
Did Moody make it back from Iraq? 7 years since he posted.
Regis Possino's odd path. From famous Hollywood High School around 1965 he enrolled in Valley City State University in North Dakota before returning to warmer climes at Southwestern Law School on Wilshire Blvd in LA. Gotta wonder how many HH grads ever went to tiny Valley City State. There must be a story!
In case you're wondering, Valley City, is the "twelfth largest city in North Dakota" according to Wikipedia. Southwestern is a bottom tier law school.
Somehow Possino landed a job (briefly) as a Los Angeles County deputy district attorney. More...

The difficulty will create trofeu new opportunities trofeu
MC: Ladies and gentlemen! Dr. Alan Phan is the first overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs take their companies private American Stock Exchange in 1987. In 1999, his Group Harcourt market price reached U.S. $ 670 million. Currently, Dr. Alan Phan is Chairman trofeu of Fund VIASA in Hong Kong and Shanghai, as well as expert advice on Emerging Markets for many multinational corporations. He is also a major shareholder in 6 public companies in China and the United States. With noted that "2012 was great year for business', program integration and development today has invited Dr. Alan Phan and talk to us about his remarks. trofeu
In general, the greatest asset is usually made up of the large fluctuations in macroeconomic: either fast or develop severe recession. Many hitters trofeu will take a lot of asset classes trofeu and 1 new giants will earn a lot. Of course, when using the word amazing, I want to say to the house change rather frustrating. Great for the win and very painful for the loser.
2. 2012, can be difficult for many people, but with President Viasa Fund (Hong Kong operations achieved trofeu net profit by up to 42% in 2005), it is difficult does not mean impossible to make money, trofeu but real reality is not everyone is successful, he said that the public sector, public sector will have a chance trofeu this year?
In any economic period, businesses have specific product brand creation, management and all the first team and a strict discipline on and control of financial risks, though in any profession any, will be brightest stars. This is the inner strength needed to weather the storm of circumstances.
3. For small and medium enterprises, foreign direct investment (FDI) is the dream, but in most cases it is not practical because these funds often seek larger projects. trofeu Instead, consider possible indirect trofeu sources (FII). According to Alan, the small and medium enterprises in Vietnam, how to access these funds?
With SME's (small and medium enterprises), FDI from venture investors are difficult trofeu to access because of legal barriers, market, technology and management. FII is also limited because Vietnam's stock market is too weak liquidity and transparency. Consequently, a channel which is more feasible cause is listed exchange floor or submit business plans for investment funds in the country.
Many entrepreneurs do not know that the U.S. listing registration easier floor Vietnam floor. But of course, to sell shares or bonds in the U.S., listed companies should be transparent and disciplined company (corporate governance) clear. The management must be very strict supervision of agency trofeu securities.
4. He was also the first to introduce the system via network shares and online education in China in 1997. Before that, he had many years experience working in multinational companies trofeu and banks on Wall Street. He said how about Vietnam stock market, and what are the opportunities for investors?
Opportunity is always there if you are a shark among the offspring. The easiest way is take the money I was paranoid shark or sharks think its allies. I say most of the financial investment is gambling. As more and more casino volatility and instability that we have as much as a chance to win or lose big. A few years ago, Vietnam's stock market fell steadily but fairly stable. I think 2012 will be more bank intervention and interest groups to prop up stock prices to reduce bad debt. It will cause big waves and now is the time to make money or lose money.
5. Dear Dr. Alan Phan, He is also a visiting professor at the American University (Colorado, Columbia, Cal State) and China (Fudan, TongJi). And just yesterday on Saturday 24/03/2012, in the books at City 7, he was chatting with readers about "a different mindset about finances." So before the end of the conversation today, he could share about the opportunities for young people have been directed to become entrepreneurs in Vietnam did not, sir?
I usually do not dare recommend one for the money, for me personally, I do not think you are always right. But in his talk, I repeated to the young is doing business, do not think much about money goals that consider innovative strategies need to be able to supply its customers with a product product or service is impressive, creating trofeu long-term satisfaction trofeu and that is the best way to build brands. When consumers and brands, money, possessions and toys (leggy, super car ...) will go to, to find out the hard work.
Thank you Dr. Alan Phan - President VIASA Fund has talked in the program today and share a lot of useful information for your television audience! And now is the information of the next program.

Was able to catch "Boiler Room" on television one night last week. I really enjoyed the movie and can remember some of the same tactics used on me back in the day. Thanks for the recommendation.
hb.....
Everyone here should see WOWS, plus "Boiler Room" which came out in 2000. WOWS is reported to set a record for the F-word, 508 times. I can't recall any film depicting more drug use. The period shown goes up to Hartcourt's start ... from the early 80s thru the collapse of Belfort's firm in 1998. I enjoyed the three hour long film and Dicaprio is certainly good in it.
It was interesting to see how the Feds got the key characters to rat on each other at the end. Belfort wore a wire. In the Possino trial, 60,000 wiretapped phone calls should be decisive.
Possino's stocks were also sold by boiler rooms during that period. But that was mostly done from outside the U.S. (often Thailand). Young Belfort gets less than 3 years in a Club-Fed prison (rooming with actor Tommy Chong, btw), writes two best-selling books and is in the sales motivation business now.
OTOH Possino, a 67 year old disbarred lawyer with priors, may die in jail.
They sure had a lot of us fooled for a long time. I may go see that movie, just to relive old times from another vantage point :)
EC, have you seen "Wolf of Wall Street?" It's extraordinary that Possino's indictment quotes him talking like this scene. Heck, I thought the indictment was more interesting than the Belfort film... but sorry, no sex or drugs in the indictment.
When I sold out of HRCT, posted here that I did, and was subsequently removed of my monitoring duties, I sucked it up, took my money and have made a considerable amount back, if not more. Can't get the 8 years back, but the friends I made, pricless. Even thought ETAK may sound good, it still has the HRCT stench to it. The only reason the HRCT board is here is for noise.
I was showing a Chinese friend Carrie Hartwick's business card. The other (Chinese) side of the card had a different name. Hartcourt, Hartwick. Was this just an additional jab?
Thanks for keeping us informed on Possino, Bar. If the 177 don't want to hear such noise, they just un-favorite the board, and voilà!
Or click the past button an bunch of times when the net is slow :)
Never buy a pinkie POS again
or you could come to the etak board, where the activity is pretty low and bring good positive postings and energy and thoughtful discourse to the board, drowning it out before the noise gets started.

Possino's problem: Investors getting smarter:
"Overt Act 111: On or about November 15, 2011, in order to persuade a third party to assist a manipulation campaign, defendant POSSINO advised that third party that "news and revenues" (i.e., press releases from a company and reported revenues for the company) were essential to generating a high
return from a manipulation campaign because investors were becoming better at detecting when a company had "nothing behind it."

Possino quote right out of "Wolf of Wall Street:"
http://www.colinnix.com/pdfs/US-v-Possino.pdf "...defendant POSSINO responded that many of the shareholders "are Fugazi" (i.e. , fake). and "I can just pull them out of my ass."
Here Matthew McConaughhey uses "fugazi in WOWS:
Dicaprio/McConaughey on "Fugazi"
With Possino's trial coming up in California, there will be plenty about HRCT and closely related companies to discuss here: "The [SEC] investigation involved a series of wiretaps that resulted in the interception of more than 60,000 phone calls and 24,000 text messages.
Another bit of recent entertainment was the bankruptcy of a another HRCT associate from the early days.
The only company related to Hartcourt that is still viable is Elephant Talk (ETAK). It looks to be in a good position to benefit from the current need for mobile phone security.
This could be a good stealth board to watch and discuss ETAK without the noise from the ETAK board. Perhaps a last chance to recoup some major Hartcourt losses here. Let the 177 still live.
My guideline here would be to only post if you are currently buying or selling a hundred or more etak shares. This guideline would keep noise to a minimum and real sentiment to a maximum. Take the next week to post freely.
177 still here say the dream is alive!
Go where? Its already gone.
Wiki: "List of animals with fraudulent diplomas" Hilarious. I see "Phake Doc" has removed that Sussex "degree" from his resume
"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animals_with_fraudulent_diplomas
But the failed after the Doc had spun them off into the hands of others. See the beauty in that? Hartcourt, under the control of the Doc, huge success. He is out of the picture and boom, failure!
Seems to me that five failures sounds worse than just one failure.
When you take credit for successfully creating a company, as A. Phan did, then say it split off into 5 companies which all failed, doesn't that sound better than you just had a part in one huge SCAM?
Join those who stop Phan wherever he goes. He use to call us his Army, right?
Is owning 5 worthless companies better than owning one worthless company?
Hartcourt was spin off into 5 companies. Lol, still a con artist!
Did someone say Phan??

Agreed we all got burned by listening to the BS, gus.
Is there anything to discuss? If I just think about our former company I will become really upset!! HRCT owes me a lot of money...
Gustav
I am over in europe. Anyone of you german Hartcourteans want to meet up to discuss the latest news on our former company? Can the infamous name be saved? Can the dream happen?
Well, if I suddenly regained my health, and it was not a condition of my freedom to stay out of Vietnam, I might....
If you had a heart condition would you move to Viet Nam?
"Doc did play a lot of tennis, as I recall. If you had a heart condition, would you play tennis?"
Doc did play a lot of tennis, as I recall. If you had a heart condition, would you play tennis?
Did Doc actually have that heart condition he claimed before he left the U.S. a decade ago "in the dark of night?"
Penny stocks often layer on impediments to legal challenges. Some change CPAs and management frequently. Others spread their activities over multiple legal jurisdictions. Many are unfathomable business kludges... nonsensical morphing combinations such as pens and real estate and electronics. Hartcourt did all that, and more.
Seems Phan's "heart condition" was convenient. Would the SEC target an ailing 60ish man, or an equally guilty but healthy 40 year old? Especially in the aftermath of Enron and the dot com/penny stock collapse there were plenty of healthier targets for the overworked SEC/FBI... Targets that weren't going to escape a costly prosecution in a pine box.
Too bad for Possino that he looks fit and tan in photos. And his 60,000 tapped phone calls and 24,000 text messages prove a remarkable sort of modern-day vigor. Anyone who could do that can surely be productive as a long term employee in a prison laundry.
Phan in the yard of a low security prison?
