Yeah, I hear that Gary. I sure wish I had a couple hundred thousand bucks to invest right now. There are some very good companies that got beat up in this last bear market. Have a great evening. I'm still at the car lot waiting for a customer to come and take delivery of a 98 Ranger.

:=) Gary Swancey
I have watched this market since 1996 and studied the events. I also remember the 80's and what happen there. I have spent a year reading and learning.
This week is when the fund managers I figure will start coming back in the market. Advertising for mutual funds will be cluttering the air waves, merger and acquisitions as the product life cycles begins to correct.
So based on my reading, I expected the stocks that would be the winners for the fund managers to tank this week by shorting. Thus create an impression management of "I Give Up" with the public thinking when you think its at its low it goes lower. By this type of public attitude the money will flow to the more stable funds.
Now all the funds will do is cover and go long taking advantage of volumes in a down line. So the "Fund Advantage" comes into play when fund managers come in basically to take the investments they want down 10%- 15% which is basically the same percentage the market has been calling for since the Dow's 10K by it going to 98.5K. Thus CSCO at $16 should hit $14 and it did today and I was waiting for it.
Hey I could be wrong but at least it is following as I expected it would.

Good luck Gary. Those should be great investments once this market turns north again.

KMAG inside and institutional selling vs internet hype:
Komag Announces Voluntary Chapter 11 Reorganization Filing
SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ --
Komag, Incorporated (Nasdaq: KMAG), the largest independent producer of media
for disk drives, today announced that it has filed a voluntary petition for
reorganization under chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The company
expects to continue operations during the chapter 11 process. Prior to the
filing, the company reached agreement in principal with its senior bank debt
holders on a plan of reorganization that will be filed shortly. The plan
includes a commitment by the senior lenders to provide a liquidity facility to
bolster the company's working capital thus ensuring the company's ability to
meet its financial commitments after the bankruptcy filing. By entering into
a chapter 11 case, the company will have a centralized forum for negotiations
with its other creditor constituencies and, ultimately, the authority of the
court to confirm a plan of reorganization that will restructure the company's
debt.
(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990816/KMAGLOGO )
"The company intends, with the support of the senior lenders, to continue
operations without interruption during the restructuring process" stated
T.H. Tan, Komag's chief executive officer. "Komag Material Technology, Inc.
in Santa Rosa, California and Komag USA (Malaysia), Sdn., with operations in
Penang and Sarawak Malaysia, are not parties to the chapter 11 filing. As a
result, the company anticipates that the operations of these and other
subsidiaries will not be impacted. These subsidiaries will carry on their
business and continue to make scheduled payments to their suppliers as before
the bankruptcy filing date."
Mr. Tan continued, "The company has operated for several years with a
heavy debt burden, including approximately $202 million of senior bank debt
and $230 million in notes assumed as a result of its merger with
HMT Technology Corporation in October 2000. To fully exploit the inherent
value in the company's operations and return to profitability, the company
must reduce its indebtedness to a more manageable level through a
restructuring of its balance sheet. Over the past year, in addition to
implementing a number of successful initiatives to reorganize the company's
operations to increase margins and improve efficiency, company management has
sought to accomplish a financial restructuring through consensual arrangements
outside of court. At this time, however, we have determined that -- despite
the ongoing success of our operational reorganization -- it is clear that the
protections of the Bankruptcy Code are necessary to achieve and implement an
effective financial restructuring. We believe the plan that will be filed
fairly allocates value to all stakeholders and are committed to seeking
approval for this plan as expeditiously as possible."

Day trader settles charges of false Lucent postings
Aug 8 2001 14:09PM
WASHINGTON, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Fred Moldofsky, a Texas day
trader accused of posting fake press releases on the Internet
claiming Lucent Technologies Inc. would not meet
earnings projections, agreed to settle fraud charges, federal
securities regulators said on Wednesday.
Moldofsky, a Canadian citizen, agreed to a final judgment
permanently enjoining him from future securities violations,
the Securities and Exchange Commission said.
He did not admit or deny the civil charges brought by the
SEC, and he will not have to pay a fine based on his sworn
inability to do so, the regulatory agency added.
In March of this year, Moldofsky was separately convicted
by a jury on criminal charges of securities fraud for the
Lucent postings and is scheduled to be sentenced in September,
the SEC said.
In a civil suit filed in New York, the SEC claimed that
Moldofsky had posted on a Yahoo! Finance message board at least
20 fraudulent press releases saying Lucent would not meet
analysts' earnings estimates for the quarter ended March 31,
2000.
The postings were made on March 22 and 23 of last year, the
agency added.
Moldofsky could not immediately be reached for comment.
Day traders like him rapidly move in and out of stocks,
hoping to capitalize off the slightest price swings.
OH well, I'm used to looking at stock with no volume LOL. (:>})))))

Yep ... not a stock running site just good stocks profiles. LOL .. first two have no volume but then again they are not looking to sell shares either.

New site huh Gary?? I'll take a closer look when I get home tonight.(:>}))))
Frank
Hi Jim ... Oh I am about the same ... I am still looking for good investments but the market has changed and you have to change with it or get nailed. I ahve not traded in about a year studying the market and technicals analysis scenarios. Now I trying to find good stocks that are not yet discovered.
In the near future I expect the market will do something to stop the insanity of the stocks under a buck. With Etrade buying out webstreet and ameritrade buying out NDB ... I do expect a per share commisssion to not be far away. Money is flowing in the under .05 and that the market I believe will want to stop this nonsense so as not to repeat the stupidity of the past few years where stocks that are nothing but stock machines and playing stock to runners will get nailed.
Per share commsissions will hurt the printing presses.
What tools do you use to track the money flow?
MyTrack Dynamic charting
Does it happen alot with these penny stocks where the money flows out and then flows back in over a week or so.
Sometimes but typically when the big money flows out the stock takes on gravity and the little moeny tries to hype it up but most of the time if it has nothing fundamentally sound it goes down until big money wants to play it again.
I see alot of these stocks where the money flows out and then all of a sudden they get a second and third wind.
Yep most be hack flash ... be nimble and quick if the money flow is not high.
I used to read your post when you were on SI a few years ago. how has your trading style changed since then
I had a few faults:
1. I did not BTS if I believed the fundamentals and the story
2. I blew the whistle on stocks when I should have just sold and moved on.
3. I would diligently track the trading but I never looked at the over all trading and what it was saying or I would have sold
My biggest problem is not selling until it so blatantly obvious that I should have. AVBC I support for 3 years and I had a cost of .25 after the split and it went twice to $2.00 and I did not sell it. Finally sold last year in the .35 - .50 range after it became so obvious the press was running full blast on the convertibles.
But the market lives for hype not fundamentals. The market pays for exposure and that is where the hype comes from. A company that is quiet like FAME on the NASDAQ unless the insiders like it is doing are buying it no one else will. That is the first stock I have profiled on my new site http://www.studiedstocks.com where I am going to find solid porofitable stocks. But profitable stocks are not where the hype goes... hype goes for stock that have stock to sell and needs volume to sell into it.
I ahve an OTC that has 3 profitable quarers and it can;t get attention either because they are not looking to sell stock into the volume.
Most of these that are running now and have a source(s) that are selling into the hype volume. Stocks that are solid and not interested in selling into the market can;t get attention. However like in 1998 when enough people get killed by the dilution they will be looking for solid investments again.
In the mean time trade and be "Jack be nimble ... Jack be quick" ... Jack sold out of a worthless hyped stock while it was still aflame. Then take the gains and find a solid investment and sneak in.
:=) Gary Swancey
Gary thanks, I have a couple more questions. What tools do you use to track the money flow? Does it happen alot with these penny stocks where the money flows out and then flows back in over a week or so. I see alot of these stocks where the money flows out and then all of a sudden they get a second and third wind. I used to read your post when you were on SI a few years ago. how has your trading style changed since then. Glad to see you will trading again soon. Jim
Jim it is not fundamentals that move a stock .. hype is what moves a stock. Seems the worth the stock the better the hype and the trading. The money flow around 11 today started out of IBIZ and I could not find where it went.
MFNX, EXDS, and missed ARCH (may be where the flow went) all went up.
not sure what the hype was on KMAG but if a group front loads and brings out the hype then you want to be in the load process and sell into the volume.
Money flow is the indicator that shows what big money is doing. Another words if the MF is negative and the price is moving up then little moeny is trying to rally and big money is selling into the little moeny. Kind of like the Market Orders at the open to gap up a price and draw in little money and big money sells into the hype of the gap.
USXP MF has been negative for a couple of days and no matter what little spike comes from little moeny the big money is flowing out. as the volume weaknens gravity takes over. Big moeny is flowing else where.
Also direction flow and money flow gives a good idea what the traders are doing and lets face it there are those that play with big money vs the little 2500 dollars that some play.
:=) Gary Swancey
Gary, Thanks for your comments on kmag. Could you explain what the money flow is. How do you tell when money is starting to flow into a stock and out of a stock. how do you pick the next stock that has money flowing into it. I sold half my position in kmag after a double. I can't tell if it's the hype or if there is news coming soon the volume has been picking up. thanks, Jim
MFNX, XOXO, could break out next week. Have no position in them, but watching close for money flow signs. Took a flyer on SITE, MKTS, DLGI due to the trading action and after profiting on AMES, PROX, and WCG today. Sure like EBAY when it dips under 60 and ADVP under 58. Q has been a heck of a short the last few days and REFR is overdue, it seems. PCLN getting attractive again in the 8 range after the earnings, jump to 10+, profit-taking and shorting evident. My favorite roller along with NETJ( too high for now.
dd
False hype on the volume. KMAG is in trouble and even had another 144 filed today, institutions are selling so Thompson's should show a lot of institution transactions and if they go over the manning rule of 10K blocks those could be considered false also.
About to get delisted ... 81M in the float....
Interesting the money flow is negative, which means the little guy is buying while big money is selling beause the price went up a bit today so I fiure someone is taking Thompson's and looking at it positively but the institutions have been selling.
I dunno maybe there is a reason for the uptick but I do not see it. Besides it traded over 21M one day and dropped below the 10 day MA and may try to get over the 10 day but I think institutional and 144 will tag whoever buys.
Will watch the moeny flow indicator but nothing fundamentally I see.
Is there a rumor or is it a sucker run?
SO but I was nto on the internet today watching it.
:=) Gary Swancey
Hi, Gary just came across your thread. I wanted to get your opinion on kmag. volume seems to be picking up. thanks and good luck to you. Jim

Well the market is running a few like USXP on the 389M judgement on the insolvent Select Capital and hey money is being made on that one. So the as money is made there will be more money to play the next one. Did this in 1997 and by 1998 the money in the market was impressive.
Just watching the wave as they catch certain stocks for profit and most have nothing worth a hoot but hey volume is volume and interest is interest.
:=) Gary Swancey
I couldn't do anything with the Olympics announcement because I was out of town.
I wish I'd been here late last week to see the CBQI Ask at .19. That may be the best opportunity we'll see. But who knows, maybe the selling will continue.
I picked up on another China stock today: TNTU. It's OTC, but with some great deals and strong backing. It's up about 300% over the past two months on strong business results and new deal announcements. At the moment, I'm just watching and will continue my research.
Good news that the 8-KA will be out soon. That should be an interesting read and provoke some discussion, thoughtful and otherwise.
As for the overall market, opinions are mixed, of course. I found a recent quote from that Swonk gal at Bank One pretty interesting. She says that inventories have been pretty much sold down. Companies will need to ramp up production soon. You also have to like the current inflation rate, which provides plenty of room for the Fed to lower rates further.
On the other hand, all of the layoffs can't help consumer confidence. And the global economy is pretty iffy. We'll see.
only on paper, CHINA & XING. Been busy though and not doing much in the market. Working on getting all the information together on CBQI to send out. Lots of people are watching stocks but buyers are still low.
CNBC is trying to get the market opinions up to try and get out of the Bear market. So i figure 60 days the market will improve.
Talked to BArt this morning and he is heading out to CHINA shortly and will be out of pocket. HAd a nice chat and hoping somethings close. I did find out that he did get representations and the 8KA should be out soon.
The rest is still in the works but no OTC pitfalls are being considered. Amazing the OTC are playing the same old worthless stocks and not any that are good fundamentally.
the more things change the more they stay the same.
:=) Gary Swancey
Hi, Gary. Wazzup! I'm back from vacation. Things are still in the doldrums it appears. Did you make any money off the Beijing Olympics bounce?
Thanks, Gary!
Ok the process is as follows:
1. find the the chart or pictire or whatever
2. right click mouse and go to properties.
3. find the URL http:// address of whatever
4. Shade the URL
5. right click mouse to copy
6. in your post type in "[-chart]paste the url without the http://[-/chart]" without the -
:=) Gary Swancey
By the way, I'm taking off tomorrow morning and won't be back in the saddle until the beginning of August. Make a buncha money while I'm gone, and turn this market around if you can while you're at it.
P.S. I liked that filing today. I'm going to have to pay a visit to the offices of the Company, seeing as they're right downtown here in Chicago.
Gary, is there any trick to that? Or did you just copy and paste? There must be a trick. I've copied and pasted articles with pictures and they didn't show up. I saw a guy posting charts on another thread. I wanna know how to do that.

Any way to list these NASD and NYSE stocks with just the symbol??? Easier for some to copy them and paste on yahoo for research.
TIA,
DD
I see ... watching the block sales all day and since 1.125 ... there is a definite seller so wait to see if enough interst overcomes the selling.

(XOXO) may offer a Bargain @ 1.65. I've done well by trading XOXO several times by being able to pick near the Bottom of different Support Levels.
I do not own any XOXO right now but that could change quicky.
I always comment to STAY LOW, BE NIMBLE AND SHOOT QUICK.
These are my Perceptions,
BlueCheap
STAY LOW, BE NIMBLE & SHOOT QUICK !
