HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Wildbilly, wherever you may be!
May the new year bring you happiness and joy!
Happy New Year!
J
Happy Birthday to YOU!
Happy Birthday to YOU!
Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday to YOU!
Yours and mine favorite spot- Wilderness campground- These three shots are looking out (panning) from the point that takes you out to the "islands". If you remember, the shots I sent you a couple of years ago showed the same thing except it was all under water- kayakers were bobbing in waves right here last time ... seems lake levels have finally started to recede some now however. We could've walked it this time but there was some pretty mucky spots and the wife really wasn't interested in losing her shoes...
I thought it was a great call considering how tight-lipped they've been and still are. But then I am biased...??
Contrary to recent small cap action
ATOM showing some strength off of conference call.
Gloom & doom will eventually be the correct market sentiment but at the moment...meh (for me)??
For now, rock on! (for as long as it can)??
Got some pics of the point- B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. Water is significantly lower than last year. I believe we could walk/wade to the islands if we so chose (but we didn't) Women folk too old to walk in muck. I'll post when I get back home on the 'puter.
I know you're on your way toward the big Mac,
maybe you'll peek in, but this seems as plausible partial answer as any.
Still placing bets on a catalyst, at this point likely the new variant, causing some shutdowns and pulling the stock indices down 15-20% and crude catching the shrapnel from fears of reduced demand. At this point I’m 80/20 short the Russell 2000 vs short crude futures. The Russell is gonna get pounded, those companies rely on capital investments that aren’t gonna be coming in. Add in the recent tense diplomatic trip to China, inflation, eviction moratorium expiring.....its time for some aftershock carnage. This month looks horrible, looks so much like 2008 I cannot ignore it.....

Criminy, I had blow out earnings on one
and next day they're selling it off.
Geez, take das boot off the neck of small caps already
Yeah I, too, have a couple of school buddies that have bought summer places up there... and those real estate prices are beginning to escalate as well the past 5 years or so.
"aren't you kind of sad to be giving up an old companion?"
Yup, more than you know. But, it came down to logistics- no place to conveniently store it now that we own a condo. We have decided that IF we sell it this year, we will still look at camping next year only we'll check into renting a rig. Expensive, but we could still get our "fix"... just not as often

I have a couple of Yooper friends from hi skrewel,
I only have a general idea of where they live which is probably
the point or their moving there. Simply breath taking around
the shore lines.
Enjoy Theo, aren't you kind of sad to be giving up an old companion?
I most surely will...
No Petosky but maybe Cheboygan. We have several Florida friends from our park in Florida that summer in the Cheboygan area and we'll try to meet up with them at some point.
We will most likely spend most of our time in the U.P., the Island, Pictured Rocks, and etc.. We are currently actively advertising our camping rig for sale as living in a condo makes storing our trailer a pain so this year will most likely be our last camping foray "up north"
Sorry 'bout your heat- been in the upper 80's and occasional 90 here the past few days but thankfully the humidity has been in the 50's and lower 60's......until today- getting "wet" again. I feel for you. My sister (also lives in Ohio) complaining of the same.
Sigh...take some pics will ya?
I'm getting massive fresh water jones.
It's stinking hot down here with no air movement,
Ohio Valley inverted air mass I think they call it.
Are you guys doing Petosky, Cheboygan and Cross village etc.?
My best friend just did two weeks in two large privately
owned cabins on Burt Lake. They did the gourmet tour: The Brown
Trout, Dam Site Inn, Vivios, Douglas Lake Bar And Grill(a must),
the Weather Vane, etc., etc. He drug 15 family members along, so
so you know it cost him a few shares of Google. He's a
home trader as well.
Sophistimacated AND generous... what a guy!
However, I must decline your Friday offer- headed to that wilderness place up north again.........um,.........uh,........ well, you know- Wilderness State Park 😎
Free PMs fri. 4-5 pm on me! You're welcome.
I take it you're buying the next round? 😜

Schumer’s Pot Bill Would Open Up Banking, Stock Exchanges

Schumer bill to take marijuana off list of controlled drugs
Person familiar with talks says drug tests an ongoing issue
A new Senate bill to legalize marijuana would let cannabis companies use banking services and trade on major stock exchanges, according to a person involved in negotiations on the legislation, a potentially dramatic breakthrough for an industry long stymied by federal restrictions.
The sweeping new legislation, a draft of which Senate Democrats plan to release Wednesday, would also direct some tax revenue from marijuana sales to minority communities, which faced disproportionate arrests for marijuana possession, keep some federal drug testing provisions, and give the U.S. Food and Drug Administration oversight of cannabis regulation, the person said.
Past proposals to legalize marijuana have stalled amid a lack of support from Republicans. The new Democratic proposal, from Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, is more comprehensive than previous efforts in how it addresses regulations.
Schumer’s office didn’t immediately respond to phone and email messages.
Some cannabis companies rose on the news in late trading Tuesday. Tilray Inc.’s shares rose as much as 4.5%, Canopy Growth Corp. rose 1.6% and Aurora Cannabis Inc. climbed 1.7%.
The decision not to pursue abolishing federal drug testing was controversial, and is likely to be a hot topic among senators, according to the person, who has taken part in negotiations over the past year.
Taking marijuana off the list of controlled substances, rather than simply re-listing it as a less dangerous drug or decriminalizing possession, would remove the most difficult regulatory burdens from U.S. marijuana companies, allowing them to take tax deductions, hold bank accounts and loans, and list on U.S. stock exchanges such as the Nasdaq and the NYSE.
The bill would give the FDA oversight not just of pharmaceutical products that involve cannabis, but also of food products, the person said. As of the most recent draft, it was unclear whether premarket approvals would be needed for cannabis products.
The bill would also expunge past criminal records for marijuana arrests, the person said. And it would restrict cannabis products to those age 21 and over, require product testing and establish a way to control drugged driving, the person said.
The bill defers many regulatory decisions to the states, and also includes a provision that would give all businesses a lower tax rate, up to a certain limit, according to the person. That provision, the person said, was written to help smaller businesses.

Could be, seems like recent move could be the result of a leak,
but before reading that I was thinking it was just a technical move.
Next resistance is 21.1 then 21.71 btw.
I read something similar over the weekend,
it would be nice to hear why.
BTW, you were sure right about SLV and I knew it when I bought it, shoo!
Maybe this Tweet will give you some hope...
Sit tight brother... 😏
Side note- On the Abet Chichi2 (Chichi2) board, DiscoverGold posted this: (#msg-164853649) • Goldman Sachs expects median stock to grow EPS by 24% yoy in 2Q.
How wozers would that be? Or do you think the market has that already priced in?
Welp, I guess we're back to crushing small caps

I don't watch OR play it and if I did, I'd be on the wrong side every time anyway 😏
He's using a ten year time frame for
that 200 ma, something I rarely look at at, but probably should.
My targets are almost always short term (intended anyway :)) anymore.
One of the few I didn't get caught in,
I forget now why I was out at the time, insiders bailing probably telegraphed.

Now I remember, it was XIV I used to play.
It was really good to me because all it did was go up for about 3 years.
Without knowing what I was doing I mostly HODL'd it for the better part
of a year because of something I read. It really pissed me off when they
closed it down.
re: your article. Rising prices while open interest declines sounds bearish to me.
