$ATOM Interesting speculation tweets about the surge in the June 18 $20 & $30 Calls Friday:

"ATOM Atomera. There were roughly 15k June options traded in the $20-30 range on Friday. That covers roughly 1.5m shares. Someone mentioned that the GameStop run started with massive option trading and if people were writing way out of the money uncovered calls I can see why that caused the stock to blow up. Similar to shorting you have to produce the stock at some point. Some 3.1m short and a boat load of options trading. If we did get news and it took the stock over $30 I could see a massive spike in the stock price. As the slide shows MST covers the full gamut of the future $750b semiconductor industry....

@microcapspeculator I was wondering about the call volume myself. The price action must be related to the calls, but is it the same person/group driving both? The 20-strike calls became in-the-money on the same day they were purchased, so that seems serendipitous. But why the sudden rush on 30-strike, set to expire in only 14 days? Who has such conviction that the price will run another 50% so soon?

@Pivotal @microcapspeculator There were 7333 June 30 options traded and before Friday the open interest was 281. If it was news leaking it would be way to obvious and news never leaks here. So I like the theory a trading group is going to squeeze the shorts and force a bunch of naked $30 calls to buy 700k shares. I really don't think there are that many shares available to even buy as the tiny float has been turned over in this area as evidenced by the 200dma and the average volume around 400k/day. Thats a great churn and really sets the bottom to move off of. Last time the stock ran from $10 to almost $50 but there were a lot of people with averages around $5. Now I'm guessing the average price for people is closer to $18. I could easily see a run towards $100.
