I think the following sums up how liberals think:
"HOW TO STOP DRUNK DRIVERS FROM KILLING SOBER DRIVERS? BAN SOBER DRIVERS FROM DRIVING. THAT'S EXACTLY HOW GUN CONTROL WORKS."
I'm surprised it took this long for The Big Guy and his cronies to try to put a stop to this investigation into this crime.

Biden Claims a Glock with a 40-Round Magazine is a “Weapon of War”
Joe Biden on Thursday traveled to New York City to address surging crime and gun violence due to Democrat policies of being soft on crime.
Biden met with New York City Mayor Eric Adams and NY Governor Kathy Hochul at the NYPD headquarters in Manhattan.
Biden immediately attacked the 2nd Amendment and law-abiding gun owners: “There’s no Amendment that’s absolute,” Biden said.
Then he said this…
“…You know, a future is cut short by a man with a stolen Glock with 40 rounds — a magazine with 40 rounds… it’s merely a weapon of war,” said Biden.

However, an apparent anti-Biden protester found the TV crew and was eager to display his views about the commander-in-chief.
The Biden protester was captured live on air.

Exactly. They know stricter controls are doomed to failure as they have been in the past. By trying to control inanimate objects they hope to appear to being trying to do something.
So long as the democratic party is in control, and so long as that party is in the pocket of BLM and defund the police, you can throw all the money at the problem of black violence and it will never end. Guns are not the problem. Black on black and black on white violence is. That problem is too difficult to solve for our democratic politicians so they focus on an inanimate object that they think will be easier to target.

New anti-gun effort could cost US taxpayers $1.5 billion
https://americanmilitarynews.com/2022/01/new-anti-gun-effort-could-cost-us-taxpayers-1-5-billion/?utm_source=breaking_email&utm_campaign=breaking_mailchimp&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Master_List&utm_campaign=7ab6b62fb2-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_01_31_08_04&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_9c4ef113e0-7ab6b62fb2-62915518&mc_cid=7ab6b62fb2&mc_eid=0265c988ab
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Sunday called on the federal government to give $1.5 billion in taxpayer funds to New York for the state’s new anti-gun task force that he said would help combat “the scourge of gun violence.”
During a press conference in Manhattan, Schumer praised New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s new Interstate Task Force on Illegal Guns, but said it would only be successful with the support of billions in federal funding.
“I am pushing for $1.5 billion dollars in federal funds for the agency, so they can help with this work and do much more at the national level,” Schumer said, according to The New York Post. “Without the $1.5 billion … these plans will not have their full impact, and we need full impact to address the flow of these crime guns in our communities and across our state.”
Schumer said he would secure the federal money this week, adding that the task force is on his “front-burner.”
The White House also announced that President Joe Biden will travel to New York this week to meet with New York City Mayor Eric Adams to talk about gun violence in the city.
The Feb. 3 meeting will include discussions on additional funding for law enforcement officers and investments in community violence intervention programs, CBS New York reported.
“I look forward to welcoming President Biden to New York City next week and sitting down to discuss how we can work collaboratively to end the scourge of gun violence we are seeing on New York City streets,” Adams said in a statement. “The sea of violence comes from many rivers, and that’s why my Blueprint to End Gun Violence in New York City seeks to dam every river that feeds this greater crisis. Public safety is my administration’s highest priority, and we welcome the opportunity to display to President Biden how federal and local governments can coordinate and support each other in this fight to keep New Yorkers safe.”
Last week, Mayor Adams announced the revival of the NYPD’s plainclothes unit, which was previously disbanded by former Mayor Bill DeBlasio amid anti-police riots raging nationwide.
Adams said the units will be deployed to 30 precincts where 80 percent of New York City’s violent crimes are reported. Roughly 400 police officers are expected to join the reinstated units, which are now called “Neighborhood Safety Teams.”
“We will have boots on the ground on every block,” said Adams, who declared gun violence “a public health crisis” and “the number one threat in our city.”

yep mine has a conceal carry as do I
sounds like you got her a .25 acp or a .380....
better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6
I'm not sure why some might be surprised at a lot of people buying a gun in these times, but I guess there are a few left who believe that passing a law ends a crime. I can tell you this much. We got a carry permit for my wife and a small piece she can carry in a purse. There is no way I want her to go anyplace unarmed anymore. The 13% who commit 50% of the crime got my attention.

Federal Appeals Court Rules California’s Pandemic Gun Store Shutdowns Violated Constitution
https://truthpress.news/news/federal-appeals-court-rules-californias-pandemic-gun-store-shutdowns-violated-constitution/
A federal appeals court ruled on Thursday that two California counties violated the constitutional right to keep and bear arms when they shut down gun and ammunition stores during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
The National Rifle Association and other pro-gun groups sued the state in March 2020 (pdf) over the shutdowns after gun and ammunition stores were deemed non-essential businesses across Ventura County and Los Angeles County.
Ventura County closed gun stores for 48 days while Los Angeles county closed them for 11 days.
“State and federal firearms licensees are essential businesses that provide access to constitutionally protected rights. Full stop,” the pro-gun groups said in their complaint, which called the store closures “unlawful government infringements upon freedom.”
County officials had previously won separate lower court decisions stating that the gun stores were right to have been temporarily closed amid the broader shutdowns to prevent the COVID-19 virus from spreading early on in the pandemic.
However, a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday rejected both lower court rulings.
Judge Lawrence VanDyke wrote that the Second Amendment (pdf) “means nothing if the government can prohibit all persons from acquiring any firearm or ammunition. But that’s what happened in this case.”
VanDyke also noted that the two California counties had allowed other businesses, including bike shops, to remain open as essential businesses.
“The Orders therefore wholly prevented law-abiding citizens in the County from realizing their right to keep and bear arms, both by prohibiting access to acquiring any firearm and ammunition, and barring practice at firing ranges with any firearms already owned,” he wrote. “These blanket prohibitions on access and practice clearly burden conduct protected by the Second Amendment and fail under both strict and intermediate scrutiny.”
“The court today rightfully recognized that Los Angeles County violated Second Amendment rights when it shut down gun stores and ranges in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Michael Jean, NRA’s director of the Office of Litigation Counsel in a statement. “This is an important decision. It ensures that California—or any state—cannot use a crisis to trample on the Constitutional rights of citizens.”
The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) has also challenged strict COVID-19 restrictions in New Mexico and New York, as well as four other counties in Northern California with regards to gun shop closures.
Ventura County spokeswoman Ashley Bautista told The Associated Press in an emailed statement that it “believes the case was correctly decided at the District Court level and is disappointed with the three-judge panel’s decision.” Officials are reviewing the decision and “evaluating our options and next steps,” Bautista said.
The Epoch Times has contacted a Los Angeles county spokesperson for comment.
The Firearms Policy Coalition, another gun owners’ rights group that sued both Ventura County and Los Angeles County said that similar restrictions were imposed across 10 other states including Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Florida Calls for Constitutional Carry
https://www.gunpowdermagazine.com/republican-national-hispanic-assembly-of-florida-publishes-resolution-in-favor-of-constitutional-carry/
By: José Niño
The Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Florida issued a resolution in favor of Constitutional Carry this week.
It read as follows:
“WHEREAS, Florida, unlike many of the states, requires a permit for legally owned handguns tovbe carried outside of limited areas such as one's home and vehicle; and
WHEREAS, criminals do not follow the law and the permit requirement disarms their victims; and
WHEREAS, based on evidence from our state and other states, a permit requirement does not make people safer; and
WHEREAS, Florida should join the growing number of states who recognize constitutional carry, meaning that the constitution is our permit to carry; now
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Republican National Hispanic of Florida supports HB 103 currently pending in the state legislature, in which anyone who legally possesses a handgun should be able to carry it, open or concealed, without a permit, while maintaining licensing as optional for reciprocity purposes. Upon passage of this Resolution, we urge all Republican legislators to support this legislation.”
Gunpowder Magazine reached out to Emily Nuñez, a legislative analyst for Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Florida, and Santiago Avila Jr., the Florida Chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Florida, for comments on this pro-Constitutional Carry resolution.
Avila Jr. declared, “This is a no brainer. We are talking about a ‘Natural Right’ therefore the government has ZERO business regulating it.”
Nuñez stated, “The 2nd amendment is the most important amendment because it allows us to protect our freedom of speech, religion, and many other freedoms that make our country so great.”
The legislative analyst added, “I support constitutional carry legislation and hope that between the Republican majority in the house and senate, that we can get this great bill passed into law.”
If Florida passes Constitutional Carry, it will become the 22nd state in the nation to adopt this legislation.
The current partisan makeup of the Florida State Legislature consists of Republicans holding a 78 to 42 advantage in the State House and a 24 to 16 advantage in the State Senate. On paper, this should make passing Constitutional Carry easy. Republicans, we know, though, cannot always be relied on to faithfully pass pro-gun legislation.
In light of this, grassroots pressure will remain key in passing Constitutional Carry in the Sunshine State. When politicians feel the heat, they will eventually see the light.

That's probably next. They're just taking baby steps for now. Besides, do you think any of our local small police departments will go to door enforcing such nonsense? I know ours won't.
So, how soon will they want to pass a regulation that every firearm must be locked up in such a storage unit, thus making it impossible for me to reach into my night stand for a gun when my home is invaded?
Biden admin announces new gun control rule – here it is
https://americanmilitarynews.com/2022/01/biden-admin-announces-new-gun-control-rule-here-it-is/?utm_source=breaking_email&utm_campaign=breaking_mailchimp&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Master_List&utm_campaign=e1307fb825-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_01_04_04_05&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_9c4ef113e0-e1307fb825-62915518&mc_cid=e1307fb825&mc_eid=0265c988ab
President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice announced on Monday a new federal gun control rule requiring federal firearms licensees (FFLs) to have secure gun storage or safety devices available for purchase. The rule will take effect Feb. 3 and the DOJ said it is designed to ensure “safe and secure storage of firearms.”
According to the DOJ, secure gun storage or safety device includes “a safe, gun safe, gun case, lock box or other device that is designed to be or can be used to store a firearm and that is designed to be unlocked only by means of a key, a combination or other similar means.”
Because not all storage or safety devices are compatible with different types of guns, FFLs must have varying options compatible with the firearms they sell.
“Today’s announcements build on the department’s efforts to reduce the risk of firearms falling into the wrong hands,” Attorney General Merrick B. Garland said in a statement. “Gun safety is a Department of Justice priority, and we will continue to take all appropriate steps to help reduce the number of people killed and injured by the misuse of firearms.”
National Rifle Association spokesman Lars Dalseide told The Washington Times in a statement that the gun-rights advocacy organization “has always supported the safe storage of firearms.”
In addition to the new rule, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) also published a Best Practices Guide for FFLs, which is “designed to assist FFLs in complying with all required firearm laws and regulations that are designed to ensure public safety and the traceability of firearms.”
The DOJ explained that the guide also “encourages FFLs to provide customers with ATF publications to help firearms owners better understand their legal obligations, as well as practical steps they can take to help keep firearms out of the hands of prohibited persons and facilitate the safe storage of firearms.”
The rule comes just one month after Jennifer and James Crumbley — the parents Ethan Crumbley, 15, who is accused of killing four of his classmates and wounding seven others — were charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of the teens because they failed to adequately secure the firearm their son used in the shooting, authorities say.
Oakland County prosecutor Karen McDonald said the Crumbley’s “had every reason to know [Ethan] was dangerous and they gave him a weapon and they didn’t secure it and they allowed him free access to it.”
