$E Cyprus accuses Turkey of threatening to use force against a drillship chartered by Eni (NYSE:E), as tensions rise over a standoff involving drilling rights in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
Two weeks ago, the Turkish navy in the Mediterranean stopped the vessel on its way to drill for gas offshore Cyprus; Turkey claims some areas of Cyprus’s offshore maritime zone as its own.
Eni likely will need to move the drilling ship but will not relinquish its interests in the area, says CEO Claudio Descalzi.
“We’re used to having potential disputes," the CEO says. "We did not pull out of Libya or other countries where there were complicated situations."
Eni ( $E +0.2%) says it has asked a judge to lift a court order seizing measurement devices that is threatening to shut down its refineries and fuel supply activities in Italy.
$E Eni, CNPC sign E&P cooperation deal
Eni (E -0.5%) signs a cooperation agreement with China National Petroleum (PTR -0.9%) in oil and gas exploration and production, gas and LNG value chain opportunities, trading and logistics opportunities, refining and petrochemicals.
The deal "could allow Eni to tap Chinese resources while allowing CNPC to use Eni skills to develop its assets round the world,” according to a London-based oil analyst.
Eni is seeking to boost its liquefied natural gas business to meet growing demand and has its sights set on Asia to help market its growing gas portfolio.
Union threatens strike at Statoil, Shell, Eni North Sea platforms
Oil platform workers may go on strike, potentially disrupting production from several Norwegian fields, if they fail to get a pay deal by midnight on Friday, their union says.
The smallest of the three Norwegian unions representing oil industry workers says the strike would target platforms at Eni's (NYSE:E) Goliat, Royal Dutch Shell's (RDS.A, RDS.B) Draugen, and Statoil's (NYSE:STO)
Kvitebjoern, Oseberg East and Gudrun fields.
The five fields together produced 326K bbl/day of saleable oil equivalent in March, according to calculations by Reuters.
Eni wins deal to supply LNG to Pakistan
Eni (E -0.4%) says it won a 15-year contract to supply 11M metric tons of liquefied natural gas to Pakistan, delivering 180 cargoes through 2032; financial details are not released.
The quantities that Eni will supply every year correspond to 25% of 2016's LNG imports into Pakistan, which the company calls one of the fastest growing LNG markets.
Much of the LNG volumes will be sourced from Indonesia, where the Eni's operated Jangkrik field will come onstream in the next few months.
Eni finds "meaningful" oil off Mexican coast
Eni (E +1%) says it discovered “meaningful” reserves of oil off the coast of Mexico after drilling the first well by an international oil company since Mexico opened up its sector to private investment under a 2013 reform.
Eni won the block in September 2015 and knew oil was there because Mexican national oil company Pemex already had explored the area; the significance of Eni’s announcement is that it points to the presence of oil at deeper levels, in previously unknown areas of the block.
Eni says its Amoco-2 well had confirmed the presence of light oil and that “the newly discovered deeper sandstones contain high-quality light oil. Reserves are still being assessed, but the well indicates a meaningful upside to the original estimates."
U.S. considering Eni's request to drill in Arctic waters north of Alaska
The U.S. Interior Department is considering a request by Eni (NYSE:E) to explore for oil in waters north of Alaska, Bloomberg reports, giving the Trump administration a chance to reverse course from former Pres. Obama’s attempt to end Arctic drilling.
Eni’s exploration well would be in an area it already leased from the federal government, so it is not covered by Obama's December executive order blocking the sale of new drilling rights in large areas of the Chukchi and Beaufort seas, but the Trump team may believe that approving Eni's request could encourage more oil companies to consider Arctic exploration.
Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on EXAS at TheTechTrader site noting: Exact Sciences Corporation (EXAS) is very interesting. I put a swing on it on Wednesday after it pulled back. Looking at the stock now after having gone from 5.30 to 12 1/2 pre-market. One hundred and fifty percent in about three weeks. We decided to wait for the pullback and we got the pullback. The fundamentals and technicals look good. It has 13 days to cover. I think the pullback was a buying opportunity, and the best thing it could do is be up on Thursday, but it may back and fill in here for a bit, consolidate the base breakout, then head up to 12 1/2, and then 15. On Wednesday it was down 6 cents to 9.33, on 39 million shares, which is very good volume.
It is very much impacted by oil prices. Right now the industry is cutting costs and capex to conserve capital but in many cases dealing with large debt burdens and maintaining cash flows. As the price begins to adjust then these companies will be positively affected.
I don't know much about this trade admitidly but when (?) pumping/drilling ensues,,,,,am I wrong thinking this company can double the pps from where it is ?
I believe market expectations were somewhat already in place and ultimately commodity prices are still a very wet blanket.
Great news that came out 8/30/15 for E.....my question is why hasn't the pps risen substatially due too this event ?
Eni (E -2.1%) is in touch with cash-rich state holding Cassa Depositi e Prestiti as it looks for ways to take the debt of its Saipem (OTCPK:SAPMY) unit off its balance sheet, Eni's chairwoman says.
One of the solutions reportedly under consideration if for CDP, already the key shareholder in Eni, to take a direct stake in Saipem.
"Our aim is to de-consolidate Saipem's debt... we're studying several options," Emma Marcegaglia says.
Italy's Eni (NYSE:E) has discovered a "supergiant" natural gas field off the coast of Egypt, describing it as the "largest ever" found in the Mediterranean Sea.
• ENI (NYSE:E): Q2 EPS of -$0.09
• Revenue of €22.2B (-19.0% Y/Y)
Eni signs strategic agreements for Perla super-giant field in Venezuela
The Minister of Petroleum and Mines of Venezuela and President of PDVSA, Rafael Ramírez, Eni's CEO, Claudio Descalzi, and Repsol's President, Antonio Brufau, signed strategic agreements concerning the exploitation of the Perla field, one of the largest worldwide discoveries of the last decade.
DETAILS
$E - Bullish on growth:
Consensus earnings estimates for both FY2013 and FY2014 have moved up substantially over the last month.
The company has agreed to sell a 28.6% stake in Eni East Africa to China National Petroleum Corp. for $4.21B. Eni will retain a 50% stake in the fields.
It also just announced plans to increase its dividend by around 4% as it believes "The company will achieve industry-leading upstream growth rates in 2013".
With the announced dividend increase the stock yields near 6%.
The company is one of the most important players in the continent of Africa. It gets over 50% of its production there currently and Mozambique is the biggest gas find in its history. As Africa becomes a more important contributor to world energy supplies, Eni should benefit.
The stock is cheap at around 9x this year's projected earnings and under 6x operating cash flow.
The median price target on the shares is $54 a share and it has easily surpassed earnings expectations the last two quarters.
Epazz reported a 50 percent and 32.5 percent increase in revenues respectively for the nine month period ending 30 September, 2012 . Epazz, Inc. reported revenue of $856,248 versus revenue of $646,023 for the same period in 2011. Additionally, the Company's Asset value grew by 38% to $1,425,248 during the nine month period ending on September 30, 2012 .
Upside is strong here in my opinion.
great trading stock nice run from $38 to $45

Libya is now producing 400,000 barrels of oil a day, a quarter of its prewar level, a figure that may rise above 600,000 barrels by year end, the country's oil chief said Monday, as the war-torn nation boosts output faster than expected.
Time to stay clear of E?
E might be on the up and up.
Daily charts oversold and weekly almost there. Suspect a correction in the near future...
Next target for E is lower Bollinger Band...
