Very nice! Glad that worked for you :)
$tock Weazel,
Hey thanks for the info. Ameritrade lowered my commissions to $8.00 in my daytrade account. Then I figured what the heck and asked them to do it in another account I don't use as much. They agreed. Four more bucks in my pocket ever round trip.
Thanks again,
trade
Yeah, that should get you to $7 easy -- if you want $6 or $5 you would need to do quite a few more imo, but honestly it just depends on how you talk to customer service
I probably average 10 to 15 trades a week. That enough?
Secret? Nope. Just call in and ask. If they say no, threaten to switch to zecco or another cheaper broker. You gotta wheel and deal em, might need to talk to a local branch employee....
You call up one guy says no, hang up call back and you get a different answer...this is the same w/ all customer service.
Of course, you have to do at least a few trades a month :)
Hi,
Is that some kind of secret? How do you get the $6. or $7. commissions. I pay $9.99 per trade to TDA. Is there some number of trades you must do a month or quarter or something like that?
TIA,
trader
Damn TDA took two minutes for me to dump my shares of NVLT today, cost me a few bucks. Bastards.
LMFAO what did i get signed up for here?!
lol did you just pick 4 random names and sign us up as mods haha
too funny. i do like this board though because i like to read what people have to say about their brokers. good idea.
im w/ etrade and i'm not totally happy w/ trade execution times, although it seems to be getting a bit better. nice to hear about the other options as at some point i may switch.
is zecco still the same? old BS of their asp.net software
What they were doing was illegal. You can't "work around" the $25,000 pattern day trading limit.
I'd imagine they got busted.
Your post reminds me of, "Who's on first?"
hahah i see, now that makes sense - you guys just earned yourselves a coupla mod spots
giddy up!
what happened was blissonmoon posted that news on zvtk board today and i read it and i replied for him to think about posting it on this board also:
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=44909096
and i think dialedinc (who had posted right underneath my post) thought i was talking to him and i saw that he posted a copy of his post on here. i think he then saw it was a mistake and that i was talking to blissonmoon and he erased the post within the 15 minutes. here is what he had originally posted here:
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=44909089
so.. i'd say feel free to erase this post and dialedinc's blank post. i'm just trying to explain why dialdinc has a blank post here lol.
why hello there
Aren't they the same guys who ran Prodigy Trading? They owe me money, better get your money out fast. I can't seem to get in contact with anyone at Prodigy, no helpful responses. I will be contacting my DA the next few days to take action.

May be an early warning that someone is going to start cracking down on the penny paper tossing scams that abound...
Now, can all the folks seeing restrictions say that they didn't get an early notice if it happens?...
Just something to wonder about on a cold night while someone else in a warmer climate is planning out the next big winna...LJ
Thanks, and Merry Christmas.
That sucks! Did the MM on bid happen to be CHDN?
Feel free to make this your main broker vent-house...lol
My online broker missed a $900 profit trade BY 7 SECONDS WTF.
I called them and asked (um I saw the f'ing bid...I know I didn't crush it cause I freaking saw it right THERE!) Their reply was (oh yeah the bid dropped..you missed it by 7 seconds) WTF? $%@^%
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Well thanks for letting vent buddy. STill steamed and this happened like 2 months ago......
Yep! Never really had a problem w/ executions though. Traded around 20 tickers in the month I was with them - not a problem w/ any of em. Was actually quite pleased with executions imo
zecco doesn't allow shorting cheap stocks, drives me crazy, slow on executions, but they have cheap commissions
That way you don't have to wait out the settlement period after you sell...
For stocks, the settlement period is three days (T+3) after the transaction...
Margin eliminates the settlement period.
Why would you suggest I use margin? I never use margin....
Not really, make sure you sign up requesting margin. Customer service is slow, and not open for very long. Platform isn't as nice, but if you're a penny man and hate restrictions zecco is prolly right for you.
Penny restrictions on TDAmeritrade are killing me! Pennys are my primary business, so I need a firm that doesn't restrict that! But you are right, ThinkorSwim and cust support are great at TDAm.
Any bad experiences at Zecco??
ps. i heard zecco will have a new trading platform by the end of January, should have more features fwiw
You get what you pay for bro, imo zecco isn't too bad - far better executions than etrade. I just like the service and features of TDA a lot more.
TDA: Command Center, ThinkOrSwim platform, Free Level 2, $7 trades, 24/7 customer service, 1 day ACHs, No maintenance fees, 500 free trades for the first month of trading, I could go on and on.
Oh also QuoteTracker is a nice feature too!
ETRADE is the worst IMO
Why are you transferring out of TDA? Penny Restrictions?
Why are you transferring out of Zecco?? I'm doing the opposite, moving from TDAmeritrade to Zecco......
ZECCO WILL NOT LET ME TRANSFER MY FUNDS UNTIL THEY SETTLE?! WTF?
Exactly why I switched back to TDA, the only thing they have going for them are those baby commercials... Damn those are good
Etrade has almost no flexibility w/ commissions, TDA on the other hand will eventually lower mine to $6 per trade, currently at $7
zecco thought it was good> Maybe because it's cheap people think it's good regardless of trade execution?
loool etrade always sucked back to the tech hype bubble. Poor execution on penny stocks and chit customer service
add zecco to the hanging list
I think scottrade hired all the babies!!!
damn you etrade for misleading me with your funny baby commercials, you suck!
-- HANG THEM !!!
they lost me a million $$$ with MY blessings!
last post of the day -- so might as well vent my frustrations. or or or or combination of all
