Happy New Year! goldrusher and boots...
Maybe BW will do something this year that will make you a fan of CTC again...LOL
Happy New Year greetings from a past big-time fan of CTC and
a current big time fan of carbon core cable.
13.8 Million...Paraguay, Happy New Year ZZM ...
It was a VERY nice day for CTPC...
UP $.021 - UP 9.17%
It looks like yesterday's news about ACCC being approved in Quatar was well received...Much more so than I thought it would be...
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Composite-Technology-iw-1507426350.html?x=0&.v=1
Maybe it also has something to do with the $1.38 million dollar contract from Paraguay, that may or may not be awarded to CTC now that it's under dispute from a competitor - Procable from Brazil...See the full article under the chart...
Today's volume of 1,037,142 was the highest volume day in three months, and the second highest volume day in the past six months, only outdone by the 1,175,319 million day last September 22nd...
All of my technical indicators are showing strong upticks, and it got a double MACD bullish crossover today, with the fast line crossing up thru the slow line, and the Histogram breaking up above the zero line...Today's candle was tall and solid, closing only a penny below the high of the day...It also broke above the resistance levels of .23, .24, and .25 so if it takes out today's intraday high of .26 there is some more room to run to the upper Bollinger Band which sits at .275 After that, it looks like strong resistance will be at .30

Company that presented best offer to tender under complaint ANDE
http://www.abc.com.py/nota/provision-de-cables-firma-procable-provision-de-cable-a-la-ande-licitacion-publica-internacional-de-la-ande/
"We propose a complete offer, coherent, much cheaper. They (the ANDE) sought errors in our proposal, they found, but invented something, they took us outside and awarded to the CTC, said yesterday in a visit to our editorial Marcio Coelho, commercial manager of Procable Energy and Communications SA Brazil.
The Brazilian company is already well since yesterday in Asuncion a team of lawyers to study the best way to apply to the Directorate of Contracting the review of that contract which had been opened by ANDE to purchase a total of 1,100,000 meters special cables for "High Temperature and Low Arrow" to be used for the new transmission line from 220 kV to be connected to the terminal Clean.
The contract was awarded last week to the American company "CTC Cable Corporation, generating immediate backlash against some of the bidders who were sidelined, although he felt more aggrieved and the only announced it will appeal the decision is Procable.
The technical report ANDE on the five companies that submitted bids (see graphic) said that Procable was disqualified for failing to submit "certificates attesting to their supply or production of legal goods," which was denied by Coelho, showing copies of filings (see facsimile), in both English and Spanish manufacturers, who are Japanese.
"Our proposal is fully agreed with the manufacturer, they give us sufficient security and are responsible for solidarity, that is totally shared interest in this business," emphasized the Brazilian executive, ensuring that work with Nipponese industries with 40 years experience in the market cables, and a technology proven in the world.
Even before the final ruling, there is an evaluation, also of ANDE, which figure Procable "yes" to comply with that requirement, and also with others, but then everything changed, explained Coelho, who said that only if there "strange things" could explain the disqualification of the offer from your company.
In the case of CTC, the total price is U.S. $ 13.8 million, well above the $ 10.5 million proposed Procable. In this regard, Coelho said that from the beginning called the attention awarded to the best face and a firm that has a technology still underdeveloped, in that situation could pose risks for the country.
"For us it is very strange what happened, very strange," he said.
Second request
In a first call after the award, Procable asked last week ANDE copies of technical advice and yesterday did the same to the Procurement Division to request the "no issue of the procurement code to the process in question" because if you have this code, and can deliver the first payment. On the same note, Procable forward to contractors who will raise the objection relevant to cancel the award.
Yes nice Volume, looks to be 50k....jmho...but with NITE, could move at any time shy or long of that number....GLTY
One poster on the Yahoo board said that James Carswell confirmed this Paraguay deal by phone yesterday. Seems that specs may have been written so as to have a better chance to get CTC's composite core product. Volume, IMO, reflects the potential of this deal being finalized. Just bought more. Good luck to all longs.
.24 New HOD!...
Actually, it's a new high for the past seven sessions...
GO CPTC!...lol
If NITE will get out of the way, Bullish SAR will be triggered........
Appreciate that, Thank you !

There's no doubt that $14 million in revenue...
Would be a GOOD thing for this little company...
Looks like they have their foot in the door, anything can happen after the decision becomes political. Getting it would be a boost for the share price.
It looks like...
Procable is mad they didn't get the contract, and wants the $13.8 million dollar contract that was awarded to CTC reviewed!...That's NOT good news...Is that how your read it too?...
This might hit the news wire soon

Nice! recovery today...
Support at .21 was solid, the hourly chart is showing signs of improvement, and volume was above average today...
If it can break above the .23 resistance, that may be the start of a run...Then, there's more resistance at .24 and .25
Maybe tomorrow will be a better day...It takes a while for the good news they put out today to get out to the world...
But today's news was about approval of the product, not sales...
Showing some signs of bouncing back a bit, now. I've been accumulating for some time, now, including last week, yesterday, and today. Good luck.
As usual, down on good news...
At least this stock is consistent!...
Down over four percent today...lol
I haven't played this one in a while...
But on today's good news, I bought 10K shares five minutes after the opening bell...It hasn't traded since, but maybe this news will sink in soon and we'll get some positive reaction to it...I especially like this part of today's PR:
That's some very good news bman!...
But usually, the stock price doesn't go up much on a day a PR like this is released...Maybe today will be different...It's back on my radar again...Thanks! for posting this...
Composite Technology Announces ACCC(R) Conductor Type Certification in Qatar
Press Release Source: Composite Technology Corporation On Wednesday December 29, 2010, 8:05 am
IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - 12/29/10) - Composite Technology Corporation (CTC) (OTC.BB:CPTC - News) is pleased to announce that its CTC Cable Corporation subsidiary has received "Type Certification" for its ACCC® conductor in the Country of Qatar. Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation ("KAHRAMAA"), Qatar's sole transmission and distribution system owner and operator (TDSOO) for the electricity and water sector in Qatar, issued the "Type Test Approval" on December 20, 2010. Type Test Approval by KAHRAMAA allows the specification of ACCC® conductor for use in electrical transmission and distribution lines in Qatar.
"With billions of dollars expected to be invested in Qatar in preparation for the World Cup in 2022, the market will represent a significant opportunity for our expansion in the Gulf. ACCC® conductors offer a green, focused economical solution to help congested electrical grids manage increased demands. We have a very clear strategy and are squarely on target to obtain Type Registration of the ACCC® conductor worldwide to accelerate its adoption. The low sag characteristic of the ACCC® conductor combined with its high efficiency and high capacity performance makes the composite core conductor technology an ideal conductor for use in the Middle East where high ambient temperatures are prevalent. KAHRAMAA issued the Type Test Approval after conducting a rigorous review of our test data. Qatar represents a great achievement for us in the Gulf region and the approval will resonate significantly with other Gulf countries. We expect many more countries that are currently in process to follow," commented Ebbie K. Nakhjavani, Senior Vice President Global Strategies for CTC Cable.
About KAHRAMAA:
KAHRAMAA is the sole transmission and distribution system owner and operator (TDSOO) for the electricity and water sector in Qatar. Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation "KAHRAMAA" was established in July 2000 to regulate and maintain the supply of electricity and water to customers. Since its inception, KAHRAMAA has operated as an independent corporation on a commercial basis with a total capital of eight billion Qatari Riyals. KAHRAMAA's mission is to provide their customers with high quality electricity and water services, whilst creating value for its shareholders. KAHRAMAA buys, distributes and sells electricity and water. KAHRAMAA is mandated to: Formulate Power & Water Purchase Agreements (PWPA) and provide necessary technical and corporate support for establishment of generation & desalination ventures; Own, construct and operate electricity & water transmission and distribution networks in the State of Qatar; Set-up plans and programs for development of electricity & water transmission and distribution networks; Lay out regulations, standards and codes of practices for electricity & water supplies to buildings and facilities; Provide consultancy services related to its activities and operations.
About CTC:
Composite Technology Corporation's patented ACCC® conductor technology enables superior performance of high voltage transmission and distribution electrical grids. ACCC conductors use CTC's proven carbon fiber core which is produced by its subsidiary, CTC Cable Corporation, at its Irvine, California headquarters and delivered to qualified conductor manufacturers who produce and distribute ACCC conductors to operators of electrical grids worldwide. CTC's conductor technology significantly reduces thermal line sag and can replace similar diameter and weight traditional conductors with its higher capacity and more energy efficient ACCC conductor. It is an ideal conductor for both upgrading existing power lines as well as building new lines since the technology allows for the reduction of the number of support structures and/or a reduction of their height. Since its commercial introduction in 2005, ACCC conductor has been selected for over 6,000 miles (over 9,700 kilometers) of projects in all environmental and operating conditions, including severe heat and ice environments, long span applications and high capacity corridors for the modern grid. ACCC® is a registered trademark of CTC Cable Corporation.

If you have been reading the achoo board, there are comments that good news is nothing if not certain by a certain tigerpaw. Wait for the press release, I guess
Gol, Merry Christmas to you and boots and of course the whole family!!
Hope so, but the passing seems awfully slow.
Been out of the loop. What good news would that be?
cheers
PS Guinness is good for you
The probability of good news goes up with each passing day.
Big? I agree, in relative terms.
This is the kind of stuff that eats at the heart of every small start up company. I hope they win big enough to get some attention that startup American industries are not going to be the patsy any longer.
This could be big:
Composite Technology Receives Court Authorization to Broaden Its Case Against Mercury Cable & Energy
New Defendants Include Mercury's Subsidiary ETI, Its U.S. Strander General Cable Corporation, Its U.S. Core Producer Diversified Composites, and Individuals Ronald Morris, Todd Harris, Wang Chen and Edward Skonezny
marketwire
Press Release Source: Composite Technology Corporation On Monday November 8, 2010, 8:05 am
IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - 11/08/10) - Composite Technology Corporation (CTC) (OTC.BB:CPTC - News) is pleased to announce that, on October 18, 2010, the United States District Court for the Central District of California granted CTC Cable Corporation's motion for leave to file a Second Amended Complaint in its patent and copyright infringement action against Mercury Cable & Energy (Civil Action No. SACV 09-261 DOC (MLGx)). The Second Amended Complaint names several individuals as additional defendants as well as naming Mercury Cable's wholly-owned subsidiary Energy Technology International (ETI), its U.S. stranding manufacturer, General Cable Corporation, and its U.S. core manufacturer, Diversified Composites.
Individual Liability
The Second Amended Complaint, which remains subject to proof at trial, adds Ronald Morris, Todd Harris, Edward Skonezny, and Wang Chen as individual defendants based on their alleged acts of patent and copyright infringement, as well as their alleged establishment and/or control of numerous U.S., off-shore and Chinese corporate entities that are alleged to be involved in the infringement of CTC Cable's patents and copyrights. Morris is the CEO and a director of Mercury. Harris is its President and a director. Chen is an officer and a director. Skonezny is alleged to have participated in its infringing activities.
Shell Corporations
The Second Amended Complaint alleges that the individual defendants set up numerous U.S., off-shore and Chinese "shell" corporate entities as a scheme to evade personal liability. In sworn depositions conducted in a related state court action, one or more of these individual defendants have admitted to establishing these various entities, but have claimed to have little if any knowledge of their corporate structure, organization or operation, despite that one or more of these individuals are identified as officers and/or directors of the shell entities.
Diversified Composites, General Cable Corporation, and ETI
The Second Amended Complaint alleges that Diversified Composites and General Cable Corporation are both liable for patent infringement because Diversified has pultruded composite core and General Cable Corporation has stranded Mercury Cable's HVCRC conductor in the United States. Mercury Cable's subsidiary, ETI, is also alleged to be manufacturing Mercury Cable's HVCRC core.
Infringement Allegations and Potential Liability
CTC Cable alleges that Mercury Cable's HVCRC conductor infringes two of CTC Cable's patents for composite core technology (U.S. Patent No. 7,368,162 and U.S. Patent No. 7,211,319) and also alleges that certain of the defendants have committed federal copyright infringement. If the federal court finds Mercury Cable or any of the newly-added defendants liable for patent or copyright infringement, the infringing parties will be liable to CTC Cable for actual and/or statutory damages, and the Court may also enter an injunction prohibiting further infringement by them. If the court finds that Mercury Cable or any of the newly added defendants has willfully infringed CTC Cable's patents or that the suit is exceptional, the defendants could be liable for up to treble damages and attorneys' fees. Any third party that makes, uses, sells, offers for sale or imports any infringing products of Mercury Cable or the newly-added defendants in the United States -- including third-party manufacturers or customers of installed Mercury Cable transmission lines -- may also be subject to suit for patent infringement and -- if found liable -- may be subject to damages and injunctive relief.

More good news, so, of course, share price is off a little.

I hope they don't really make it big -- it would probably mean we'd have to pay to have somebody take our shares. ;-/
Product is good , getting allot of press , Now we need to sell allot of wire to see this company and PPS explode to the upside
It appears you're right. We have moved up from the .18 spot and I have seen this move days after a PR as if it was delayed action. I've been invested here a long time and have seen a lot of strange movements and non-movements. At this time, though, you do appear to be correct.
I agree that this and other recent announcements are helpful and positive. But I think its become clear that the only thing that matters in moving the share price here will be real and substantial sales. Nothing else is going to do it.
It just keeps getting better:

Press Release Source: Composite Technology Corporation On Thursday August 19, 2010, 8:05 am EDT
IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - 08/19/10) - Composite Technology Corporation (OTC.BB:CPTC - News), through its subsidiary CTC Cable Corporation ("CTC Cable"), received notice from the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO") that the USPTO on August 6, 2010 issued an order granting CTC Cable's request for inter partes reexamination of U.S. Patent No. 7,705,242 ("the '242 patent), which is directed to Mercury Cable & Energy's ("Mercury") HVCRC conductor. With the order, the USPTO issued an Office Action rejecting each of the 33 claims of the '242 patent. No claims of the '242 patent were confirmed as being patentable by the USPTO.
In the Office Action, the Examiner adopted all eleven grounds of rejection that were asserted by CTC Cable in its reexamination request. Among the rejections adopted by the USPTO was a rejection stating that each of the three independent claims of the '242 patent, as well as fourteen of the dependent claims, are anticipated by one of CTC Cable's prior patent publications disclosing and claiming CTC Cable's ACCC® electrical conductor. The Examiner stated that "[T]he prosecution history of the ['242 patent] does not indicate that the [CTC Cable patent publication] was included for consideration by the examiner in charge of the ['242 patent]. Accordingly, [the CTC Cable patent publication] raises a substantial new question of patentability...which question has not been decided in the previous examination of the '242 patent." Mercury is afforded the opportunity to respond to this ruling, but CTC Cable is confident that the USPTO will sustain its actions to date.
CTC Cable initiated a suit against Mercury Cable & Energy in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California, on March 3, 2009, asserting infringement of two of CTC Cable's issued patents for composite core technology used in bare overhead transmission conductor (U.S. Patent No. 7,368,162 and U.S. Patent No. 7,211,319). If the federal court finds that Mercury infringes any one of the claims of these patents, Mercury will be liable to CTC Cable for damages, and the Court may also enter an injunction against Mercury prohibiting any further infringement. If the federal court finds that Mercury has willfully infringed or that the suit is exceptional, Mercury could be liable for increased damages and attorneys' fees. Any third party that makes, uses, sells, offers for sale or imports any Mercury product in the United States that is found to infringe, including third party manufacturers or customers of an installed Mercury transmission line, may also be liable for patent infringement and subject to damages and injunctive relief.

Press Release Source: Composite Technology Corporation On Monday August 16, 2010, 8:05 am
IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - 08/16/10) - Composite Technology Corporation (CTC) (OTC.BB:CPTC - News) is pleased to announce that its CTC Cable Corporation subsidiary has granted manufacturing qualification to Alcan Cable, to strand ACCC® conductor in North America. The grant of qualification comes after a thorough review of the manufacturing and quality systems of the Alcan Cable plant in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and the testing of stranded ACCC® conductor produced by Alcan Cable.
Earlier this year, CTC Cable and Alcan Cable signed definitive agreements that gave Alcan Cable the right to distribute ACCC® conductor to a range of key customers in North America and develop the ability to strand ACCC® conductor in its established North American factories. By attaining stranding qualification, Alcan Cable will now begin their sales and commercial rollout of ACCC® conductor to a select range of customers, consisting of nearly three dozen of the most influential utilities and transmission agencies in North America. Alcan Cable is expected to provide a fresh viewpoint and strategy for the market and use its well established relationships to provide a platform for accelerated adoption of ACCC® conductor. The combination of the Alcan Cable team with the expanded CTC Cable technical and business development teams will provide a powerful new thrust for ACCC® conductor sales in North America.
Alcan Cable will also provide stranding services for CTC Cable as it serves the balance of North America and the global market. The presence of a qualified strander in the U.S. is expected to reduce lead times and provide a local resource for the development of new market-driven ACCC® conductor configurations. Alcan Cable joins an elite list of cable companies around the world that are qualified to strand ACCC® conductors. CTC Cable has qualified stranders in Europe, China, Indonesia, the Middle East, and North America and is currently qualifying new stranders in South America. ACCC® composite core production will continue at CTC Cable's ISO 9001:2008 certified facilities in Irvine, California. CTC Cable will continue to provide support and training of installation teams in the North American market through its Field Application group.
"This is an exciting time for CTC Cable. With the qualification of Alcan Cable we now have a strong stranding source to serve the North American market and beyond. Most importantly, we worked very closely with the Alcan team throughout this process to develop a clear strategy for accelerating adoption of ACCC® conductor in the North American market. This includes articulating the value proposition for ACCC® conductor in new ways that will resonate with the North American utilities," commented Benton Wilcoxon, CEO of Composite Technology Corporation.
About Alcan Cable:
Alcan Cable has provided its customers with quality products and outstanding customer service for over 100 years. With its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, Alcan Cable is a leading manufacturer of aluminum cable, modular wiring systems, and rod and strip products and has seven manufacturing operations -- six in North America and one in China.

CTC is a global provider of electric utility solutions featuring its composite technologies. CTC's transmission, distribution, and industrial cable products address a $50 billion annual global market that is projected to exceed $80 billion within 10 years.
CTC's premiere product is a composite-reinforced conductor known as ACCC (Aluminum Conductor Composite Core) cable. ACCC cable has the potential to enhance electrical grids by offering more power than traditional aluminum cables, stronger materials and improved reliability.
The CTC Solution:
CTC's ACCC (Aluminum Conductor Composite Core) cable is capable of doubling the current carrying capacity in emergency conditions, like during a heat wave, with its grid-overwhelming air conditioning overload, when compared to existing transmission and distribution cable. It increases system reliability by reducing to a large degree, high-temperature sag, caused by the need to crank up the amperage to meet the consumer's expectations of comfort.
Benefits of having higher strength and reduced sag include the ability to avoid the need to re-engineer new steel towers in the near term, and the heavier-duty ACCC cables can also be configured to match the original tower design until new rights-of-way are realized or bigger towers are utilized. ACCC's niche is best achieved in longer distance river crossings, where additional towers cannot be engineered due to the impedance of navigational constraints. Standard installation procedures can be employed while using common bullwheel radii in the usual fashion and it resists environmental degradation as it will not rust, corrode, or cause electrolysis with aluminum conductors or components.
Diversity of Composites:
Composites are a proven and broadly accepted technology in a wide range of applications in the aerospace, energy, industrial, and transportation markets that touch consumers' lives on a daily basis. All of these applications demand high-strength and cost-effective solutions that, above all else, increase product safety and reliability. CTC's technology and manufacturing techniques harness the benefits of composites for the diverse needs of the energy marketplace. CTC has established relationships with existing cable manufacturers to expand production and assist utilities and governments in achieving improvements in power grid capacity and reliability worldwide.
