Clearly Canadian Announces First Quarter 2008 Financial Results, Conference Call and Web-Cast
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CLEARLY CANADIAN (OTCBB: CCBEF - News) (the “Company”) today announced revenue results for the first quarter 2008.
1st Quarter 2008 Financial Filing
Total revenues for the three months ended March 31, 2008 were up 70% year-over-year to $2.47 million compared to $1.47 million for the same period in 2007. The company’s recently acquired healthy snack foods and organic baby foods divisions, which were acquired in February and May of 2007 respectively, account for this revenue growth. The company also reported cash on hand of $5,446,000.
Bobby Genovese, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Clearly Canadian Brands stated, “We are very pleased to announce that we continue to grow top line revenues at an accelerated pace (70%), while significantly reducing our cash burn rate. This is a direct result of properly positioning the company in the rapidly expanding healthy food and beverage industry, and all of our divisions beginning to work from the same infrastructure. We will continue to incur some non-recurring expenses thru the 2nd qtr as our consolidation of operations to Toronto is completed. However our model is already working as evidenced by our loss after non-cash, non-recurring items, interest and penalty expenses and interest income falling to $1,128,000 from $1,530,000 on significantly higher revenues. This trend should continue and in fact accelerate going forward, and we continue to see our operations being cash flow positive for 2009 and beyond. We continue to be on track to meet our revenue projections for existing operations of approximately $16 million for 2008 (a 50% plus increase over 2007), and are looking at numerous promising acquisition opportunities. With all divisions now pointing towards profitability the company does not anticipate needing any further funding at this time. We have yet to launch our beverage initiatives planned for this year or our snack divisions’ intended expansion into the U.S. marketplace, each expected to begin by the end of the 2nd qtr. We will continue to pursue opportunities to expand our footprint into the natural and organic marketplace, in order to capitalize on our existing highly effective distribution and selling agreements into this rapidly expanding sector.”
Mr. Genovese further stated, “All of our divisions are being challenged by the significant cost increases in shipping and delivering our products. I can assure you these challenges are being addressed and should not have as significant of an affect on our margins going forward. We feel confident that we are now well positioned to significantly increase profitability in our beverage division in 2008 and beyond. We are extremely pleased with the progress made toward our stated goals for a North American wide move to a more profitable delivery system and feel we are set to compete with a distinct product in the vast beverage market. We realize the tremendous opportunities available for Clearly Canadian Brands and remain committed towards our goal of significantly increasing revenues, while consistently improving profitability. This will be accomplished through becoming a major competitor in the natural and organic food sectors and a prominent participant in the healthy beverage category.”
Conference Call and Web-Cast
The Company will hold a conference call to discuss its financial results on June 4th 2008 at 4:05 p.m. EST. The live phone call-in number is 800-954-0684. The conference will also be web-cast live and can be accessed on the Company's website at www.clearly.ca. A replay of the web-cast will be available on the site for the following 90 days.

Letter from CEO
TORONTO, May 06, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Clearly Canadian Brands (OTCBB:CCBEF):
Dear Shareholder,
My name is Bobby Genovese, and I am the new CEO of Clearly Canadian Brands. My company, BG Capital Group, has been a major investor and controlling shareholder in CCBEF for the past 3 years. Recently, I felt it was in all of our best interests to take a more active role in the day to day operations for Clearly Canadian Brands. I believe this will help to insure that the company delivers on its incredible potential. In the last two years, we have made tremendous strides in the reorganization and redirection of Clearly Canadian Brands, and we are now positioned for great future success. We have now moved all of the company's operations to Toronto in an effort to consolidate operations, save costs, and centralize personnel. These actions will help to increase our margins and make a significant impact to our bottom line profitability. I am invigorated by this opportunity to help guide this highly recognized and respected brand name back to prominence. It is my pleasure to issue this corporate status report to all of our shareholders, and the investment community, who have shown so much interest and enthusiasm in the renaissance of Clearly Canadian Brands.
Since becoming CEO and Chairman of the company, it is with great pleasure that I can report to you that for the first time in over 10 years we have experienced top line revenue growth, as sales increased 42% in 2007 from $7.4 million to
$10.6 million. In direct response to our decision to position Clearly Canadian Brands at the fore-front of the heightened consumer movement towards healthy, natural and organic products, we are now on track for continued sustainable growth. I must say that as excited and pleased as we are with the 42% revenue increase for 2007, we are even more excited about the prospects for 2008 and beyond. We are well into the major transformation of Clearly Canadian Brands, and are now a more diversified company, controlling numerous brands all focusing on the "Good for You Foods" market sector. We are forecasting another 50% growth rate for 2008 from our three existing product lines, Beverages, My Organic Baby and Snack Foods bringing these divisions to over $16 million in sales this year.
We also anticipate closing several more strategic acquisitions that could significantly accelerate this already tremendous growth rate. Clearly Canadian Brands has now created extremely strong alliances with some of the world's major retailers such as Wal-Mart, Whole Foods, Loblaw's, Safeway, Shopper's Drug Mart and 7-Eleven. We have proven ourselves as a reliable supplier of top quality, innovative products that are delivered on time and at a fair price. We will now focus on growth by both horizontally expanding existing product lines and vertically adding stimulating new brands through strategic acquisitions. Our beverage division has been challenged by the significant cost increases in shipping and delivering our products, which has affected many beverage companies. We have spent the last nine months addressing this problem and feel confident that with the significant guidance of INOV8 Beverage Company, LLC we are now well positioned to significantly increase revenues in this division in
2008 and thereafter. We are extremely pleased with the progress made by INOV8 Beverage Company as they have completed mass focus group and industry trend studies, and are currently in negotiations with major bottling groups for an overall North American bottling agreement for our beverages. 2007 was a solid turnaround year for us, but it was not without its challenges. I strongly feel that 2008 will see us begin to emerge as a force in the fastest growing sector in the marketplace "Good for You Foods". Again I thank you for your continued support.
Clearly Canadian Brands Corporate Highlights:
-- Major Transformation for the Beverage Division to a concentrate
model is underway.
-- INOV8 Beverages has now entered the negotiations phase of this
all important move for our beverage division to a concentrate
model for a North America wide bottling agreement. Thereby
drastically reducing the production and delivery cost that have
plagued our beverage division for years.
-- We have consolidated all operations to Toronto and have an
infrastructure in place to take us above $30 million in revenues with
minimal additional overhead costs.
-- The integration of the two major acquisitions My Organic Baby
and DMR Foods is now complete with all divisions working from one
infrastructure, resulting in tremendous overhead expenditure
savings.
-- Strong balance sheet as of April 30, 2007 with approximately
$5,500,000 in cash.
-- We are in a strong position to execute all of our marketing and
sales initiatives, as well as continue to look for opportunities
to add more quality brands names to our fast growing family.
-- The Reality Television Show About Clearly Canadian Is a Huge
Success.
-- The 8 episode show entitled "Bobby G Adventure Capitalist"
shown on Mojo-HD through most major U.S. cable providers has
given Clearly Canadian Brands a high level of visibility and
created many opportunities for the company.
These recent accomplishments at Clearly Canadian have built a solid base for the company to become a leader in the emerging organic and natural sector. With our multiple, "good for you" brand offerings; we have a strong platform to capitalize on strategic efficiencies and opportunities. We are focused on growing revenue, profitability and shareholder value.

I know it's silly because we've had our ups and downs... but hey, we're up 14% so far today!!!
Funny you say this- I feel that this almost HAS to go up... it is down so far from it's recent highs with no real reason... yes, their beverage sales have gone down from previous periods- BUT their business is shifting to organic food products (growth$$$).
They have been reorganizing for success.
I'm personally holding (though sadly at an average share price of $2.46!!!)
I feel a rise in ccbef. Are there any other opinions? Hmmm... I don't know what to do with my ccbef stocks. Waiting for the advice.
Thanks for thw info.
Happy Holidays for you too!! All the best:)

Cheers Friend and Happy Holidays
Howdy, everybody. I see that you are interested in Clearly Canadian. I like the beverages they produce and the comapny itself. Though the situation is not such a good as expected but it is not falling down. If it remains stable, shares will start rising.
Let's hope we are turning around- don't understand why we've had great press releases- but yet we are still down 50% from where I entered. Oh well, I've now doubled down last week!
I also, for the sake of good order, enjoyed a nice Clearly Canadian Raspberry Water yesterday in Nanaimo while I was on a cruise... it was good as I remembered from when I last had one three years ago.
LOL!
LOTS of EOD buying....
LOOKING STRONG in reversal form
ANYBODY HERE? Since my last post we've continued a downward spiral- however, lots of good PR's since then... thoughts?

Clearly: A Canadian Success Story
Water has always loomed large in the collective Canadian psyche. Perhaps it's because we have so much of it. Or because so much of our history has been defined in relation to it. Or maybe it's just the simple fact that for the better part of each calendar year, we get rained, hailed, snowed, sleeted, misted and/or fogged on.
Whatever the case, in 1988, this quirky Canadian passion for water fuelled the humble origins of the Clearly Canadian Beverage Corporation. Based in Vernon, British Columbia, this spirited little start-up introduced a line of sparkling flavoured waters that helped usher in a whole new era in beverages - blazing the trail for what is now known as the Alternative Beverage category, a category currently estimated at $14-billion within North America alone.
Over the years, Clearly Canadian has earned a reputation for innovative sparkling water and packaging, holding its own in an ever increasingly competitive landscape.
The year 2006 has been hailed The Renaissance of Clearly Canadian. With an extensive re-launch of its core brand of sparkling flavoured waters, greater distribution, exciting new products, a humanitarian partnership with the Global Water initiative and a strong new management team, Clearly Canadian is poised to re-establish a strong position within the Alternative Beverage market.
CCBEF is a leading producer of premium beverages, including Clearly Canadian Sparkling Flavored Waters and three enhanced non-carbonated waters: dailyVitamin, dailyEnergy and dailyHydration, which are distributed in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Korea, Indonesia, and other countries.
The Clearly Canadian brand has sold over 90 million cases equating to over 2 billion bottles worldwide. Its products are considered “new age” beverages, a category which became identifiable in the mid-1980s. New age beverages are distinguishable from traditional soft drinks in that they generally contain natural ingredients, less sugar, and less or no carbonation. Clearly Canadian's sparkling waters boast of all-natural flavors and no preservatives in keeping with healthier diet trends without sacrificing the same great taste experience that Clearly Canadian consumers have come to expect.
CCBEF has three wholly-owned subsidiaries: CC Beverage (U.S.) Corporation; Clearly Canadian Beverage (International) Corporation; and Blue Mountain Springs Ltd.
Global Water Initiative
CCBEF has partnered with Global Water to provide funding for two projects in Central America. The first project commenced in August 2006 in the small Guatemalan village of Cotzol, home to almost 500 people. The second project is set to take place in a village located in the Nicaraguan highlands. This village requires a combination water supply, sanitation facility and tree planting focus.
