TDA is insane. I only trade penny stocks and I buy and hold a story. I might jump in and out a R/M Momo run like everyone else, but nothing crazy for a $60k account.
This happened to a trading pal of mine too.
No reason given, your just out.
And you cannot transfer penny stocks..
You must sell and rebuy in your new account.
I can’t see TDA winning over too many Scottrade guys like me.
Been with ST since 1994. It’s not like I got no idea what I’m doing.
TDA must be heavily short on the stocks I hold?
Any comments?
Which online brokers will actually let you do a premarket OTC trade?
Questrade is no good for pennies. Especially if it's a non liquid one. They have that 20% liquidity rule like Apex/Penson had
Please help. Read below
I currently have etrade and I have a margin account with less than $25,000 and I am marked at pattern day trader. Meaning I am now restricted....is there any way to "bypass" the stupid restriction(s)?
Would it be better to open the 2nd cash only account within etrade and transfer half of the money from the "margin" account and into the cash only account? Or would it be better if I have 2 brokers (Etrade and Fidelity)?
I also need review on Questrade and optionexpress
Due to rule changes at Merrill, I need to transfer shares of CANN (OTC stock) to a new broker. While I am finding brokers that allow trading CANN, I am having trouble finding a brokerage that will allow me to transfer my existing shares. I do not want to sell them, because some of the shares are at a loss, and I would have to wait 30 days to re purchase them- and I think the price will go up during that time frame.
Does anybody know a brokerage that has good prices and will accept transfers of OTC stocks under $5 per share? Please let me know- thank you
Hi. Interactive brokers and Just2trade are good.
Hi
I write from Montevideo, Uruguay. I want to hire an usa online broker with an online platform to trade daily. Which is the best broker for a non usa citizen? Broker for the OTC market and NASDAQ market.
Thanks
Gabriel
Those are thieves .... liars ........ On their site they put $ 2.5 per trade LOOOOOOOL !!!!!!
I had to wait three weeks to withdraw my money ... lost 3% of commision
In addition there are costs of inactivity .......... The worst "broker" I met.
Never open an account at "Just2Scam"
I have an ongoing problem myself with Just2trade. I have a worthless security in my account that they informed me that there is now a quarterly inactivity fee of $15. I told them to do whatever they need to do to remove it. Their response was “sorry, we’re unable to remove it”. That was it, so now I have no idea what to do about removing it. Just2trade is a sham and they’ll do whatever they can to take your money.
WARNING !!!!!!
Never open an account at Just2Trade for the Pinky market, because: first I asked them if they was doing the Pinky market, answer:"Yes no Problem !". Then for the documents it took more than ten days. I did the money transfer. And, the great surprise arrives;
Just2Trade informed me of two great problems :
1/ Just2Trade does not give all the penny-subpennylland/Pinky tickers.........only about 50.... only of their choice!!!!
2/ I placed an order of 2M of securities at $0.0004.................and very big surprise... commission fees...$5030 YES!!!
$5030 ?!?!?!
I almost fainted ! I asked if there was no mistake.... Answer: "NO"
Looking for brokers dealing with OTC markets located and operating out of the European Union and UK (Ireland). PLease feel free to make suggestions. Thank you.
One question, the trade cost in tables is the cost by share bought or by the total purchase in one way?
Interactive Brokers is by far the best brokerage for trading penny stocks as long as you have $3k minimum and are under 25 years of age. if you meet those requirements you should definitely use them. after that its a toss up between E-Trade and Charles Schwab. every other broker is a piece of shit. so stay away from anyone else other than the two I have listed on here.
Any brokers trading in 5 decimals? .00009?
thanks for that!
Monroe. Check out E-Trade. Some of the posters swear by them & would not go anywhere else.
Go to the NEWBIES BOARD & post your question there as well.
Any new brokers that anyone likes for trading pennies?
Just2Trade.com seems like they have it together, but have been told
they will not trade any stocks where pps is under .05
Anyone know about this company Just2Trade?
Suggestions?
I need another account other than Fidelity.
Anyone using RobinHood?
thanks
Guy is Suretrader have screener ?
Anybody use Trade Station? I'm currently with Ameritrade and the platforms are horrible. Looking for a good broker who has a penny-friendly platform. Demoed a bunch but can't find anything good. Any suggestions?
Tried but NG for one reason or another:
Etrade pro
Thinkorswim - TD ameritrade
Trade architect - TD ameritrade
Options express
Options house
Schwab street smart edge
Merrell lynch - forget the name of the platform. Max trade size = 1 million shares.
What is the best broker for OTC shorting with a $5000 or less account minimum? I use etrade right now and they can't find any shares to short.
Is Speedtrader good?
I want to know if they allow trading sub-penny stocks as well, has anyone had an experience with them?
It would be really appreciated if anyone can answer my question.
Thank you,
SiralD
I was looking around too and found Interactivebrokers.com
they took the shares of a otcqb company. and very cheap. not a very complicated process, but I had book shares, which could be transferred via DRS.
so I do not know how that is handled with a paper certificate. call them, they are helpful and quick
https://www.interactivebrokers.com/
I currently use Ameritrade
But I wanna switch brokers
I want lower commission then 9.99
I want no cap on size and freely trade pinkys with no hidden commission fees
And I need a simple real time level 2 mobile app to watch
Etrade has a good promotion to move over to them but I read they have the worst execution
What is the best?
Speed trader?
Broker that takes certificates?
I am looking for a broker that takes certificates for OTCBB or OTCQB for fully reporting companies. What I mean is one that will allow for the physical deposit of a stock certificate (restricted usually after the restriction is eligible to be lifted)?
Does anyone know one? The discount online brokers typically don't do this for stocks under a dollar.
OptionsHouse:
https://www.optionshouse.com/rates/fees/
https://www.optionshouse.com/rates/
Flat rate $4.95
OTCBB (Pink Sheets) commission = $0.0005/share
$STBV .05 ready to run! http://www.otcmarkets.com/stock/STBV/quote
Actually they doens't offer anymore Level2 for free if you have balance of 2.500$ like before, I hope they will reprovide this offer because I need it.
I have no experience with other brokers, so I cannot compare them...
How is it with just2trade. Are they giving you itches?
SURETRADER IS THE BIGGEST POS AGREED!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS CHARGING ABNORMAL FEES!!!!!!!!!
Actually no news,
I looked for Speedtrader but to have Level2 on otc the Speedtrader Pro platform seems too expensive for me..
Hi Italia, Read post# 752 before you put your money with Interactive Brokers. Sounds like Penny stock investors are not treated well by IB.
Good Luck
Hello Italia, you might try over here,
just be patient waiting for an answer being a holiday weekend.

The question has come up before and I believe Interactive Brokers was one choice. Their initial deposit requirement used to be $10,000, not sure now.

I'm a not US resident I come from Italy,
which alternative?

And IB probably loaned your shares out as soon as they got them. Recieved shares of an OTC in legit compensation for employment, they took 5 million free trading shares and then said I couldn't trade them for a year. After about 9 months of arguing with them on an on I said give it to me in writing that I can trade them after the year and they said "No, it's two years now". Transfer agent (Continental, very legit) had to get involved and I had to pay them a processing fee to get my own shares back after they lied to me.
$MEME combines organic growth initiatives with targeted roll-ups in key jurisdictions around the world. At present, mobile content distribution companies are undervalued by the market, which misunderstands their intrinsic value. Not only are their established business models more durable than they are given credit for, they offer tremendous development and exploitation opportunities in evolving content categories, as well as advertising, marketing and financial applications that take advantage of the distribution and reach inherent in these platforms.
TDA policing what you can and can't trade (e.g., can't trade DTC chill stocks) is a much greater problem for me than all the E*Trade issues combined.
$NXTD As we mentioned at the start of the note the risk/return from the current stock level is very attractive. Longer-term investors will also note that our the IV for 2016 doubles so if NXT-ID exits 2015 with good momentum there is quite a bit of additional upside.

To add to that, the commission has a ceiling of $5.50, so trading stocks such as OTC, you won't go over $5.50 commission.
That's what they said on the website but I'll be calling them soon to confirm.

I'm hearing mixed things about Centerpoint Securities. Anyone have anything to share about them?
Are there any brokers that have better than 2-1 overnight margin leverage? I am currently using Etrade but would like something with higher leverage if there is any.

PUMP your favorite broker(s) and tell us why we should use them!
BASH the crummy ones and tell us why we should not use them!
The brokerages are based on a five thumb rating system. Please note that I bear sole responsibility for the opinions provided of these brokerages represented in the table below. I encourage you to quibble if you feel a rating is unjustified (either positively or negatively).
PLEASE NOTE WELL: The reviews in the table below are as unbiased as humanly possible. The thumb ratings are a sum of feedback from my own personal use, friends and associates comments, and other research I've done online. None of these brokerages are compensating me in any way.
ALSO REMEMBER: These ratings are in the context of the broker's usefulness for OTC trading. Many of the brokers that are unacceptable for OTC trading are great for big board issues. So everything posted about these brokers on this board are run through the filter of how it works for trading OTC stocks!
5 Thumbs = Out of this World Incredibly Awesome WOW
4 Thumbs = Truly Excellent
3 Thumbs = Acceptable but not writing home about it
2 Thumbs = Unacceptable and shoddy
1 Thumb = Truly Poor

Overall Rating for OTC Trading:
| $7.95-$14.95 online trading Broker assisted = mor | Provides some of the worst executions for BB and Pink Sheets issues of any major broker.
| Better not to call unless emergency situation! Most of the customer service reps have zero understanding of the OTC investors' needs and desires. | Etrade has one of the best trading platforms around...the Power Etrade Pro platform absolutely rocks. Too bad everything else about Etrade is horrible for OTC folks. | Certainly not as aggressive as Scottrade is in restricting some issues to call in orders only. But still above average in the number of issues it restricts. | There is a crazy $40 per month inactivity fee. There are some other ones but certainly not bad. | Very poor selection of routes, and you can only choose other routes if you have the Power Etrade Pro status (which you have to achieve through # of trades or through monthly fees). | I have personally used E*trade over a period of several years and would never recommend them if you plan to trade OTC issues. | Link #1 |
Overall Rating for OTC Trading: | They charge % commissions on low priced stock. Will average you about $15-20 per trade (one way). | One of Scottrade's best features is the quality of their executions. They use NITE primarily. |
Probably the best customer service in the business. Local branches. Native English speaking sharp people. Friendly, fast, and professional. |
The Scottrader Elite platform is a very solid trading platform. You have to qualify for it though through balance amount or pay a monthly fee.
|
Absolutely ridiculous. Scottrade has lost a ton of good business because of their idiotic and dictatorial rules about restricting online buying of certain issues. This alone is enough to make the real OTC pro have at least one other brokerage account besides Scottrade. |
Reasonable. |
Terrible selection of routes. | I have personally used Scottrade. I would only recommend them as your primary OTC broker if you do not plan to trade actively (i.e. less than 2 trades per week).
Overall Rating for OTC Trading: | $9.99 per trade which is high for trading OTC | Executions are very good! | Pretty hard to beat TDA for customer service | Good platform and decent charting tools | They do restrict some OTC's but are by far better than Scottrade which is horrible | Link #1
Overall Rating for OTC Trading: | Maximum share size is 999,999. When playing triple zero stocks this could amount to quite a bit more in commission.
Overall Rating for OTC Trading:
Overall Rating for OTC Trading:
| Extremely reasonable trading costs as low as $2.95 per trade for high volume traders. If you have a decent sized balance you can call and negotiate a lower price. Average cost is about $7-8 per trade. |
Not the greatest executions, but certainly acceptable. To buy, I've found NITE or UBSS to be the most effective. To sell, I've found NITE, HDSN, or DOMS to be the best. |
Informed, capable, and professional customer service is the norm. |
They offer the DAS Trader Pro platform. This is an industry standard and you'll find it at several of the more "professional" discount brokerages. |
They very rarely restrict issues to online buying. |
Since Speedtrader clears through Penson, you can get nickeled and dimed when trading OTC issues. This is standard with Penson though, and any brokerage you use that clears through them will have at least some hidden fees imposed by Penson. |
Fantastic selection of free or extremely low priced market maker routes. | Clears through Penson.
Overall Rating for OTC Trading | $2.50 per trade is tough to beat! Low commissions are the claim to fame for Just2Trade. |
Very good on the executions. They have GTC for OTC's |
Always prompt and helpful via email or phone. |
They have a basic trading platform and a L2 which services the big boards only at no extra cost. Nothing fancy but the price is right. |
NO restricted stocks!!!! |
|
Everthing routed thru ETMM |
Excellent bang for your buck! Clears through Legent. I think right now, to trade both OTC, Nasdaq and options, its one of better ones out there.
Overall Rating for OTC Trading:
|
$4.50 per trade and you get 10 freebies if you have 25 executions within that month. Also if you maintain a $25,000 balance you automatically get 10 freebies per month | Customer service is not the best compared to others. | They use asp.net software. not dynamic. not good for day trading. | No restriction for most of the stocks | No hidden fees | PERT/NITE | Their trading platform is very basic and is not dyanamic. Trading platform jams up during trading hours making you feel helpless. Stay away. Zecco is the worst we have out there. You are paying for your trades in other ways besides money with Zecco! Frustration, time, etc.

Overall Rating for OTC Trading: | commissions are ridiculous. You will loose more than you make.. 10$ comission plus other fees. Just for round trip you are paying close to 30$. | fast | Forget it | DAS | No rest | lots of them. Stay away. not for retail customers.... | few routes... bu they suck | On the whole, i would give them a one star....

Overall Rating for OTC Trading: | Initial cost is not too bad but they will really kill you in extra fees that "the MMs charge us." Don't use TradeKing if you plan to trade OTC issues, period. | Selling OTC shares was a real challenge with these guys. | Completely unacceptable. Rude, unprofessional, quick-tempered, fast-talking jerks on the take IMO! | They don't have much to offer in the way of trading platforms for OTC investors. | I found this to be acceptable. | Outrageous hidden fees for buying OTC issues. They accused me of trading "foreign" stocks when I had purchased HMGP. | No choices. You buy and sell their way or no way. | I personally used TradeKing for about 2 years. I signed up because of a sign-up bonus. I found the customer service to be rude, impatient, and unhelpful. They tried to charge me several hundred dollars months after I made a few OTC trades because they said these fees were being imposed on them by the market makers. Bunch of baloney IMO. | LINK#1 |
