I wish I could find the video that goes with this story!
Here's a picture but it doesn't show it as well. I guess the dog is not a fan of Arod!
The Marine lives about 10 minutes from me.

Yankees honor Marine, bomb-sniffing dog before game against M's
NEW YORK -- Through two tours of duty in Iraq Sgt. Rex was by Marine Cpl. Megan Leavey's side.
The pair worked more than 100 missions searching for roadside bombs, were injured in the line of duty and went through physical therapy together.
When her military career ended, she felt the least she could do was adopt him.
"This dog has saved my life," Leavey said.
After five years of waiting for Rex's service to end and filling out paperwork, Leavey finally won approval to bring the 11-year-old German Shepherd home. Yankees president Randy Levine and his wife Mindy helped make that reunion more comfortable and the team honored the pair before the Yankees hosted the Seattle Mariners on Sunday.
Nick Swisher presented Leavey with a jersey autographed by all the Yankees, and Alex Rodriguez gave her a heart-shaped charm from Tiffany & Co with "Rex" written on it -- but not before A-Rod leapt back when Rex jumped in front of Leavey. Also, the team, with assistance from the Wounded Warrior Foundation, helped the Marines replace her Purple Heart medal, which was stolen during her rehab.
Rex has a higher rank than Leavey because she said, the dogs do the work.
Protective of his handler, Rex stayed next Leavey's feet, barking now and then -- perhaps objecting to the questions -- throughout a pregame interview. It was very different from the last time they worked together.
In tours in Fallujah in 2005 and Ramadi a year later the two would walk ahead of Humvee convoys and Rex would sniff for roadside bombs. They had found four bombs already on a September day in 2006 when a bomb was remotely exploded. Leavey sustained a traumatic brain injury and hearing loss and Rex injured his shoulder.
Rex and Leavey were separated briefly but did their physical therapy together. When Leavey, who grew up a Yankees fan in Rockland County, N.Y., was honorably discharged she asked about adopting her companion but Rex was still on active duty.
In April, when Rex was retired from service the adoption was finalized. The Levines paid for Leavey's trip to Camp Pendleton in California to be reunited with Rex.
"I was so nervous. I was just hoping he would remember me," she said. "As soon as I took the leash back it was just like no time had passed. Back to normal."
Now, Rex lives with Leavey and her two other dogs, lounging and enjoying a more comfortable life. Leavey works as a dog handler for a private company. One of her clients: the Yankees, a coincidence the Levines did not know until after they took up her cause.
Griffey use to be good at doing that also.
I take it back-I'm glad wells played today.
NEW YORK -- Mariners left fielder Casper Wells got a Mother's Day request from his mom on Sunday morning. Nothing big, just if he could provide a little something special to remember when she and the rest of the family drove the two hours from Schenectady in upstate New York to see him play at Yankee Stadium.
"She said, 'Hit a home run for me,'" said a grinning Wells after his team's 6-2 victory. "Like that's an easy thing to do. I was thinking, 'That's kind of a big request. How about a single or a couple knocks?'"
But Wells indeed delivered the long ball, driving a sixth-inning pitch by Andy Pettitte high off the right-field foul pole for a two-run shot that provided his team a 4-1 lead. It was his first home run of the year.
I didn't write it. LOL!
You got that right I'm miserable. The mets bullpen allowed 8 runs and didn't even pitch 3 innings. That is absurd. Yikes.
We should have gone 6-0 on this road trip I don't want to see Francesco hope the league suspends him for a game or two so he gets his head on straight.
To think they gave this guy a 2/12 million contract. He ruined my day. As I said his overall numbers indicated there should be a worse save % then he was saving. Hopefully the mets realize this and could we give Parnell the chance to save games, if not parnell lets try rauch. I'm tired of seeing this guy have villages on the base, and he can't get anyone out. He's terrible. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.
Ouch---2 blown saves and a loss for the BP might drive some to drink...
Yes TY lol
Wasn't it the 9th?
and did a quick examination right there in the stands.
What??????
making the 1st out at 3rd in a game down by 4 in the 9th--and with the play in front of you--he better be dustin' the dirt off his pants when the throw gets there--in fact, there better not be any dirt on his pants...
hustle and effort don't even come into play here---understanding the situation in this instance trumps all...any conversation with Swisher after the game should start with "what the &^*%$# were you thinkin'?"
Walk off Grand Slam Marlins score 6 in the 9th awful!
Exactly. If the score was still 4-2 at the time I would have had to go down there and smack him!
OOPS-I think SKILLZ may be bald about now. Mets leading 4-2 in the 9th and the "closer" gives up a couple of runs and now with the bases loaded.....a grand slam.
Mets lose another tough one.
Do we have to call him Dr J now?
Axford reflects on his famous note
By Adam McCalvy / MLB.com | 05/13/12 2:30 PM ET
MILWAUKEE -- Brewers closer John Axford had only a few moments to stew over the end of his long saves streak before life snapped things back into focus.
Clubhouse manager Tony Migliaccio was waiting for Axford when the upset right-hander retreated to the clubhouse in the middle of the ninth inning on Friday night, a one-run lead having just slipped away in what would turn into a marathon win over the Cubs. It was Axford's first blown save in more than a year after 49 successful conversions, the fourth-longest saves streak in the history of the stat.
Migliaccio had news. Axford's pregnant wife, Nicole, was waiting outside the clubhouse. She was having contractions.
"My attitude changed immediately," John Axford said. "I realized, obviously, there was more to life than what just happened out on the field."
Nicole Axford was only 33 weeks pregnant, not due to give birth to the couple's second child until June 28. Her primary physician just happened to be sitting 10 rows in front of her at Friday's game, and did a quick examination right there in the stands. She suggested they get to the hospital.
So John quickly showered, dressed and left a handwritten note for reporters explaining his absence. The doctor was able to stop the contractions, and Nicole Axford was expected to be released from the hospital on Sunday.
Since then, John's note to reporters has gone viral. It went like this:
"I put my wife into contractions with my performance tonight! The streak is over so now you can talk about it. The luck I've had in the past didn't show up tonight! All I can do is start another streak and keep my head up!
"Cliché... cliché... cliché... another cliché. Gotta go! Love, Ax."
On Sunday, he smiled about the note and the national attention it's received.
"I didn't think it was going to be that big of a deal," Axford said. "Originally, I just wanted to make myself smile a little bit, too, because right after I came in I was pretty upset."
That changed with the passage of a few days, a pair of Brewers wins over the Cubs to start the three-game series and news that mom and baby-to-be were doing well. The couple plans to name their second son Jameson.
As for the end of his saves streak?
"I was obviously upset with the way it went [on Friday]," Axford said. "The last two outings haven't been the greatest. Kind of like I put in my note, the luck just hasn't been there the last two times. It seems like the baseball gods are upset that somehow I weaseled my way out of the one in St. Louis somehow, and now they're making me pay for it."
He notched a save in St. Louis on April 29 after the Cardinals put runners at first and third base with nobody out in a one-run game. Axford followed with a clean save on May 4 in San Francisco, but since then has allowed five runs (three earned) in a pair of outings. He has a loss and a blown save to show for it.
On Friday, the Cubs' rally began with an error. They later scored the go-ahead run on a strikeout/wild pitch.
"It's tough when you strike out three guys and you still don't get out of an inning. The luck just wasn't there," Axford said. "Every time you step out there, you want to get a save. You want to lock down a win for your team. ... Looking back to see that it was more than a year that I went without a blown save ... I'm just glad I could hold down those wins, get those saves and get wins for the team.
"Last year, at the moment I blew those two saves early on, I didn't think I was going to be in the situation I was in at the beginning of this year, with that many saves in a row. Hopefully, I can start something like that again."

I disagree some what. When you tell your players to play aggressive and he does and uses his skills of speed and is safe it is the managers job to support your player. Now don't get me wrong I know you are thinking wait a minute we down more than just one run lets not give up an out. I get that. I agree with you he should have played it safe.
That being said, I want my players to also play with confidence their manager has their back when they are safe.
Your player is safe by a foot. That play wasn't even close. Ridiculous call.
Mets need a closer Francesco is not cutting it.
I don't blame Girardi in that instance---he'd be stickin' up for utter stupidity...
Bad call at 3rd--but Swisher Swisher Swisher--what are you thinkin' even tryin' that silliness...
Safe at third. Where is Yankees manager? Go fight for your player. He did good and got burned by blind ump.
he should be done for the day now. BP should be able to hold this.....
That is the best I have seen him pitch since he became a Mariner. Great pitch selection. Many missed calls by the ump. You know I'm not a happy camper with him but I got to give him credit he looked totally different today. Nasty movement.
maybe he figured out if he didn't he'd be back in Tacoma.
I haven't seen this much movement on Millwoods pitches this year till today. He picked a great time to get it together.
Yes, read that. Suppose to be doing BP catching this week. If Montero goes down they'd accelerate his schedule. That is what I don't want.
There's time. Olivo not on road trip and still on DL. Not even catching BP sessions yet.
What is up with Arod? He don't look good running at all?
Oh just dandy. Didn't look good at the plate. If he goes down Olivo be back in there for sure. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
terrific at-bat for Liddi
Swisher saved a double. WOW! Great play.
UNREAL!!! Right on the corner! Millwood had him struck out.
Just now calling the pen. What a joke. HELLLLOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Millwood been pitching how long? Starts off the hitter 3 and 0. Unreal.
Just turned on the game. Millwood made it to 4th inning no runs scored? Must be the pink bats helping him.
Doctorate in Base Hits?
She may still be in the house--how would he know?...
Since Jeter and Minka went separate ways, Derek has returned to his old form.
LOL...he's already got a dirty sock
Brandon Steiner must have cringed when he saw Jeter give his bat to that little girl in the stands.
What a day...my Arsenal boys hung onto 3rd place which is worth about $40M qualifying for next years Champions League--and Man City scored 2 goals in extra time to take the title from Man United--1st title since 1969...
I agree, but that isn't going to happen.
I'd rather see Seager Dh and Carp in LF. Nothing against Wells, but both carp and Seager are hitting well right now.
But then, it would be a big surprise if Wedgeee ever stopped following "the book" and used common sense to put out the lineu;p with the best chance to win.
OT Man City: 1st EPL title since '68
MANCHESTER, England -- Manchester City won the English title for the first time in 44 years, surging past Queens Park Rangers 3-2 on Sunday with Sergio Aguero scoring his team's second goal during stoppage time.
Aguero's goal in the fourth minute of injury time snatched the trophy from defending champion Manchester United on goal difference. United had been top when its game at Sunderland ended in a 1-0 win.
Sergio Aguero is mobbed by his Manchester City teammates after scoring the eventual winning goal.
United's players left the field in Sunderland with shell-shocked expressions, while the fans looked at each other in disbelief and stood with hands on heads in a stunned silence.
This was the first time the English title was decided on tiebreaker since 1989, when Arsenal and Liverpool were even on points and goal difference, and the Gunners won on total goals.
Pablo Zabaleta had put City on course for the title with a 39th-minute goal, but Djibril Cisse evened for QPR three minutes into the second half.
City had a man advantage after QPR captain Joey Barton was sent off in the 55th, but Jamie Mackie managed to put the visitors in front on a header.
City's expensively assembled squad had been facing its first loss at home since December 2010, but substitute Edin Dzeko sparked the recovery by heading in a corner kick in the second minute of stoppage time.
There was still time for one final moment of drama in an unpredictable season when Aguero drove home the winner. As the final whistle blew, thousands of City fans poured onto the field and blue smoke wafted around the stadium.
Winning the title is the result of more than a $1 billion of investment by Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Mansour, who rescued a financially stricken club from ousted Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra in 2008.

Well, beat the drum and hold the phone - the sun came out today!
We're born again, there's new grass on the field.
A-roundin' third, and headed for home, it's a brown-eyed handsome man;
Anyone can understand the way i feel.
Chorus:
Oh, put me in, coach - i'm ready to play today;
Put me in, coach - i'm ready to play today;
Look at me, i can be centerfield.
Well, i spent some time in the mudville nine, watchin' it from the bench;
You know i took some lumps when the mighty casey struck out.
So say hey willie, tell ty cobb and joe dimaggio;
Don't say "it ain't so", you know the time is now.
Chorus
Yeah! i got it, i got it!
Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, and brand-new pair of shoes;
You know i think it's time to give this game a ride.
Just to hit the ball and touch 'em all - a moment in the sun;
(pop) it's gone and you can tell that one goodbye!

Field of Dreams (1989)
"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.
This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray.
It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again.
Oh people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come."
