Waiting for news here. Another story about how unprofitable satellite wifi on aircraft may be

"Global Eagle Entertainment, Gogo, Inmarsat, Panasonic Avionics, ViaSat — all of them agree: You gotta pay to win. Without the major airlines, you have no future. And to get those airlines, you have to finance equipment development and installation — big-ticket items — and somethings to take-or-pay contracts that seem overly generous to the airlines.
They just disagree on who will be the first to collapse under the weight of the debt.
The service providers continue to raise new capital. Gogo recently offered $100M in 12.5% notes due in 2022 to accelerate rollout of its global 2Ku satellite wifi service. The company raised $590M in earlier financing rounds in 2016 and January of this year.
Panasonic, part of a large Japanese conglomerate, doesn’t need to show its wounds to the public markets but its managers have been clear about the need to spend and spend again to stay in the race. But even Panasonic has recently suggested that its very-high-throughput payload investment — Panasonic-owned capacity on satellites owned by others — has been put on hold.
The stock of Inmarsat and ViaSat has been publicly attacked by avowed and presumed short-sellers in part because of concerns that broadband to the masses, and even to the slices of the masses on commercial flights, will be a financial black hole."

IPTK's system works with a window antenna, data cable and an ipod. No or minimal downtime for installation. No FAA certification issues. It doesn't stream video but does everything else. As the ceo says it's not for everyone but it certainly fits the low cost carrier (LCC) model, and seems perfect for airlines that have shorter flights.

"What we developed is our own Bluetooth characteristic optimised for aircraft networks and satellites. The justification was all our communications and all modern communication platforms are short burst data, including Email, SMS, IM, Google, Twitter, Banking, News, Booking, Billing, Weather and the back end of all Social Networks.:
