Hi thanks for the interest. Like you I can find out very little of what has happened during the last few years.I hear they went into Chapter 11 ( or something like that) to be protected from their creditors. A few shares change hands from time to time and taht could mean something is still of interest of others. It seems that their system for reopening old wells and reclaiming oil deposits only helped for a short time, but now many companies are doing similar work in the area. They purchased a pipeline, which if still in working order could be of great value to some of the many drillers in Texas. I also have shares in VYEY and have contacted them to see if this is near to their recent Oil and gas strike. regards Terry(togetherwegain)

Hi,
I have quite a few shares of PLTGQ and have just found this chat board while tring to find out what happened to this company.
They just disapeared in the great global meltdown of 08 and I have not been able to find anything out about them.
Of course they are still listed on the otc board for some reason thus I can't use them as a write off, which I would prefer not to do anyway since I have a fair chunk of change invested.

If you have any info for me it would be greatly appreciated

crude dude i know this kentucky went dry the wells were to shallow stopped pumping. blair the ceo mortgaged his own house to save the company if i remember because he purchased a lot of land but lacked the assets to drill.

think about it when gas was a dollar oil was 20-40 a barrel platina crashed when it was in the 140s

the run up is probably because of the mideast turmoil. wouldnt surprise me if some people are looking to buy companies shares cheap like this to hold voting power platina does not get volume anymore.

most assetts are supposedly located in texas where drilling is occuring but i have no evidence of this. for the company to survive bankruptcy for what 3-4years now they must be drilling and selling something most likely below market value do to there lack of overall production. ive seen this in a couple junior oil companies. people are going to make money off junior oil american companies because big oil is learning it cant afford to stay in the middle east. they need to drill hear on our shores yet over the past 5 years junior companies bought up the leases and reserves in the hopes that they would get bought out.

so to put it simple for all right now platina has reserves, but are still in bankruptcy. but they are still alive. which means this they are worth something to someone.

now oil is up probably will continue to go up through speculation estimates are 200 a barrel but my opinion 120 short term taper off to 105 depending on mideast turmoil remember it was 90 before libya and thats only 2% of the worlds supply now its 108 thats not good math this is the nyse ripping off the foriegners in other words an oil war and dollar war with the mideast the mideast loosing again. remember the turmoil over there is over unemployement in some countries 50%, trust me they dont want a second oil war and this is new york playing another mean game on them.
nyse knows the real value of oil and the mideast doesnt and they plan on keeping it that way

this means oil will fluctuate but big companies want out of the mideast they were just waiting for the juniour companies to fail problem is they didnt. now there will most likely be takeovers and internal drilling. so price fluctuation is most likely this:
1:mideast turmoil
2:report out
3:large companies need buyout before these companies get to big
4:people grabbing cheap shares may have some info about companies looking at them
honestly with the debt for this company and assets and remember blair is in chapter 11 and chief shareholder and has controlling stake with other investors it is probably worth a real 1 a share but thats just the reserves and the contracts to renew the leases amongst other things. somebody may know of someone lookng into some land amongst other things who knows best way to find out though is if someone knows how to research chapter 11 bankruptcy look for the company and see what type of problems it really has because a lot of this i am not sure of.
but this is probably why the short term prop up oil prices tend to do this and a good report would convince someone its a good buy.

It seems to me that with the high price of oil at the moment there must be a large number of drillers opening up low producing wells in the area and they could all be looking to use a pipeline already in place. Thats if it still is usable and if still owned by Platina. Good luck in your attempts to find out what is going on

i found a number for platina and address. i plan on writing a letter and will give other shareholders to voice concerns and issues with the company.

u know i tried to look up merriman hes in hiding so even if it is its going to be hard to get anything done with it. we really need the shareholders to come out of hiding and put pressure on blair and find out whats happening and what else can be done. if enough of us come forward he will have no choice to listen. i have no idea what the articles say and what type of power we have or who the majority holders are bet you its him which is why hes the ceo. maybe we need fresh thinking and new ideas. if your looking to take back of the company and want to help fix it and help track down blair maybe we can make some money. if anything the fields are worth something. im still here and if you want to help get to the bottom of this and take back your company with me let me know. maybe something may be able to be done.

PLTGQ has shown very little activity until recently. I understand they are in Chapter 11 which protects them from creditors. With the better oil price and increased activity in the area is it possible that someone is looking at their assets. IMO the key may be the 50mile pipeline that they acquired.
This could be a vital link for several other drillers in the area. Any thoughts.

I physically toured the KY field with Joel Patton who was in charge of the wildcat energy co. Everything looked very promising and I even produced a video documenting the progression there. Unfortunatly the wells dried up as quickly as they were drilled it seemed. After that so did my weekly phone conversations with CEO Blair Merriam and Joel Patton. The investors were lied to about this company in my opinion. If only by omission. They never revealed the wells went dry publicly. It is my opinion, again not true fact that the wells having never been fully completed and allowed to flow as open holes from the ground as they moved on to other drill sites eventually lost their pressure. That with the drastic drop in oil and gas prices during this period caused severe financial hardship on the company and eventual failure. I will be happy to share any partuculars I know of from my communication with mgmt but you will be hard pressed to get hold of them any time soon.

i do remember wildcat and appalacion somewhere being referenced as the subsidiaries. supposudly they purchased leases and didnt drill enough. secure money through assetts.

What assets do they own? If they own oil wells surely there would be record. I looked but did not see any familiar names for wells in Kentucky. See post 1298. There are similar web tools for every state. Would be good to find some reference to a well owned by Platina or Merriman....

Well, the company filed Chapter-11 bankrupcy - so the court has no say in ordering a sell of company assets - that only happens in Chapter-7 filings.

Once the company can demonstrate sufficient capital and revenues from the sale of its production activities, they will come-out of Chapter-11 and the stock should spike higher from there.

The CEO has stated more than once, that the company has over 3-million barrels of proven oil reserves! The gas production is a bonus!

In reality - as the global economies get stronger and stronger - the demand for oil and gas will only increase - this company will likely get bought for about 3-dollars a share if not more.

closst i know on wells were in kentucky, possibly in texas, miss, and lousiana border region but that part i dont know. know blair is in texas but there were leases in kentucky. people have still gobbled up the shares.

found out blair disclosed info late in 2008 company did defualt didnt technically go under said they drilled more drills but dont know if succesful never a news release rumors on yahoo boards. dont remember where though. googled blair merriman ceo of company doest ever say company had to fold but dont have docs on it. found out something else with his name link pulled up on a link possibly way to contact him says he is still drilling but not in any real words sounds like he signed up for the website pickens plan dedicated to getting america away from the middle east oil. people are all communicating leases sounds like his could be in texas probably where loiusiana miss and texas are.

one other thing he made all these mistakes but he has stayed through all of bankruptcy and it sounds like he may be working company out of some of the problems it got in. t lesases could still be owned for another two or three years. it is probably best to try and contact him through pickens plan.

he also does work with his new technology and people seem to like it it just seems he wasnt able to figure it all out or something. supposodly it can work but i just dont know.

he does seem to be completly embodied in shares in the company so he cant go anywhere he may need the rest of the shareholders approval to get anything real done though but he sounds like the chief one as usual.

either way sounds like the company exists in some form but i have no clue yet and one believe rumors share float is high enough to me.

does anybody remember when the company wanted shareholder approval for issuing shares to lenders. what happened?
and if shareholders have voting rights shouldnt we get involved and fix this. i dont know any other shareholders but if there is still money and time and anything that can be done like selling assets to bring in cash shouldnt we do it. this is my company too and i hope there is somebody else who feels this way.
i want to know whats going on and i want it fixed there is oil in those leases and if we still have leases lets see if we can still make money off of them.
anyone out there let me know because i cant sell my shares the price is just too low and if by getting involved the company will turn around and we can give it real value let me know, because if enough shareholders get involved the ceo wont be able to avoid the point and whoever the other top shareholders are.

They tried differet ways to get the gas out without success ,then the funding people gave up on the company. They were suppose to have a drilling co. from Texas come in and try.I heard nothing else for a couple of years.

Rumor has it that the company intends to come out of chapter 11 sometime in November of this year - and that there may be a buy-out offer at $3/share. The CEO claims that the company has 3-million barrels of oil in proven reserves plus gas on top of that!

We shall see - I have notice the volume is picking up nicely!!!
